Is that all you want? It's a dangerous game to play with Miju; he's never truly sated. And he knows Xiomara's mutation makes it easier for her to take it than most. And the alcohol now warming his veins makes it so difficult to make good choices.
"God. Don't tempt me." he breathes, lips already pulling back as he leans in to take another bite. A fresh bite, he thinks, the other side of her neck, because he so relishes the soft give and pop of skin breaking under his teeth. But before he can take that bite, he can feel how slow she's breathing. "...Did you fucking fall asleep?"
No answer. "Ugh!" Miju flops off of her, rolling to lie next to Xio's still, sleeping body. Stupid drunk Xio. Absolute tease.
FIN.
Xio squirms: rolling her body up against Miju. It feels better than sex, even if it's the only way her body seems to know to respond. The feeling isn't so much a temperature: but it feels warm nonetheless, comforting. Something beautiful flooding through her, the bite at her neck a pleasant ache. As the blood is drained she feels dizzy. The feeling of teetering on the edge of unconscious: like a chair tipping back on a cliff's edge, only instead of fear it's pure bliss waiting for the finally tip back.
"Moonshine." She answers breathlessly. Her hand settles on Miju's, wants to press him against her and take more. "Is that all—all you want?"

[ LOXLEY’S BIRTHDAY PARTY DISCORD ROUNDUP ]
Where: Borgin & Burkes, Knockturn Alley Who: Linden, Xiomara, Tierney, Nate When: 02 August 2020
@linden-flint
@xiomarawinters
@tierney-smudgling
Draped across the couch, Linden had their chin propped up against their hand as their elbow rested against the arm of the chair, eyes squinting in playful annoyance. “Make one more bone joke, I dare you. Or at least make it funny this time.”
Xiomara watched, amused as the wix who'd given Linden that awful pick-up like about where he'll put his bone walked away, rolling his eyes and muttering about wasted time. She sipped her sparkling water and wrinkled her nose, looking down in her cup. "Poor guy. Should let him down more gently next time. Watch him, he'll try her next." Xi indicated to the wix, who was leaning on a wall, cocking his head at another witch. "You waiting for someone or something?”
"Me." Tierney swanned onto the couch in an instant, back pillowed against Linden's stomach. She also sipped on sparkling water, albeit with much more joy than this blonde interloper. "Macaroni cheese still isn't ready, Linden. Who're you?”
Linden rolled their eyes at the news of food (or lack thereof), and reached around to grab T’s drink. “Oh, you don’t know who this is?” Linden asked with a smirk and scoff of a laugh, “Oh this is going to be fucking great.” They took a mouthful of water and then grimaced to find out it was sparkling. Gross.
Xi raised her brows, looking between the two. She sipped her drink. Shit, had it really been so long away from society that people forgot who she was? "Xi, nice to meet you. I'm here with Nate but he's off... somewhere." She shrugged and then looked the newcomer up and down, "Linden you have a friend! That must be so exciting for you.”
"Tierney." Tierney's eyes lit up, and she offered her freed hand out to shake, businesslike. The mention of Nate by name was the detail she'd needed to put a few pieces together. Tierney had personally filed that contract in duplicate. Hell! thought Tierney. Xi was totally boned. Linden would shit if they knew.
Tierney? Xi's eyes widened, reaching out to take the other's hand to shake. "Smudgling," she assumed, giving a knowing hum.
Tierney parried Xi's once-over by cutting her eyes to Linden's insouciant sprawl. "Oh, I know who she is, Linden," Tierney said, cheerfully. "If only by name and reputation.”
Tierney held onto Xi's hand for a second too long, turning their locked wrists over to get a clear eyeful of the skin on the back of Xi's hand. When she swept her thumb over it, the skin wavered, shimmering like a battered shield charm. Ha! So Xi'd broken the Pinnock contract already, had she? The cover-up charm was a nice temporary fix, but Xiomara would have to have glamour squirting day and night out of every orifice to keep a Smudgling-made Word as Bond sigil covered for long.
The journalist in Xi purred with contentment, and she was about to launch into a line of questioning about the notoriously exclusive security company when Linden launched into their bullshit.
Linden’s brow tugged to an arch as they watched the eyeball play between the two girls before Tierney’s gaze fell back to themselves. Humming, Linden nodded, “Darling Xiomara certainly has a reputation that precedes her; isn’t that right, Xi?” They managed to find some way to lean against Tierney and look over at Xi with the sole intent to be patronising in their eagerness to listen, and it just so involved finding a strand of dark black hair, twirling it about their index finger and tugging on it absentmindedly.
Xi let her hand drop, rolling her eyes and sipping her drink. She tousled her hair, raising her brows with a 'what's one to do?' kind of shrug at the mention of her reputation—before Linden mentioned the Ministry: “…Also, I heard you had a nice little Ministry visit recently... care to share? Or would you rather T here talk about just how much of your reputation she knows about first?”
Linden's family store was uncomfortably close to the alley Mathis had... Greeted Xi in, far too close to the Burkes’ shop where she'd been arrested. It rattled her.
Ruma, who was standing in the hall, met her gaze. Xi swallowed, hand clenching around her plastic cup as she finished the last of it. "Well, you know me. Anything to chase a story. Speaking of—” her gaze shifted back to Tierney. "I'd love to pick your brain sometime. Document your family's triumphant return after that.. unfortunate incident years ago. Must've been so embarrassing! A security company having a break-in," Then to Linden, "And I bet you've got plenty to say about increased auror presence in Knockturn Alley. Tell me, are all those raids bad for business? But I suppose dark wizards wouldn't really care about your illegal trading—and that's who you mostly supply, right?”
"My family? But that's old news…” Tierney said, sidestepping casually so that she blocked Xi's eyeline to Linden. Sometimes it pissed Linden off when Tierney got all caveman and protective like that, but other times—it really, really didn't. Linden was weird like that. “…Like your social life, I've heard. Not out much anymore, are you.”
“Ugh—I take back every time I’ve ever claimed I would drink anything—this is inexcusable…” Nate said as he walked into the living room, staring into a plastic red cup as if it had personally insulted him. “…I assume you’re ready to get the fuck out of—?” He stopped abruptly as he actually looked up and noticed who Xiomara was shaking hands with.
Sharp little Tierney Smudgling looked a good bit older than Nate remembered, but he still recognized her instantaneously. Pages and pages of contracts with the suffocatingly airtight clauses dangled beneath the Smudgling insignia like a baby over a well, bright red blood pressed in unsightly smears across those goddamn sigils—hundreds of them, thousands.
Nate’s molars ground together inside his mouth as years of associated memories flashed through his mind and he stared at Tierney-fucking-Smudgling. Of course, of course that’s what this was; of course Nate’s father, that evil fucking cunt would have no qualms about using a Smudgling Word As Bond on his own fucking son. It was honestly laughable how it had taken Nate so long to piece it together.
And yet, remarkably, being face-to-face with someone who was a mere several degrees removed from Nate’s father himself, caused some dormant instincts to twitch within him and rise to the surface, like some wretched creature that had been kicked into submission and had since lied in wait—the ghost of the old Nathaniel Pinnock of Giggle Water, Inc., rising from the ashes where Nate had tried to snuff it out.
Nate stepped into his old persona like a well-worn pair of shoes, striding cooly to Xiomara’s side and looking down on Tierney to say, impassively and just loud enough to be overheard, “Smudgling. Been a while. Xi, why don’t you go find Ruma and tell her we’re ready to go?”
Nathaniel Pinnock was taller than Tierney remembered. He got way too close, in the way men did when they expected you to back down. She could see straight up his nose.
Fat chance she’d be intimidated by a gangly has-been holding a red plastic cup. “I’m a Smudgling-Gunne, not that anyone ever seems to remember that,” she sighed, with some degree of resignation. The music was louder than her protest. Still, she protested.
“I was under the impression your people preferred it that way,” Nate replied, wry and pointed.
Because the Pinnocks had been in business with Smudgling Security for a long time, and the tedious act of whoring themselves out to the media, shoving their children’s names and faces down the public’s throat often enough that there was eventually no option but to become society darlings, sainted or scrutinized for so much as fucking sneezing—was a Pinnock family endeavor, alone. Clients of Smudgling valued the way the company handled sensitive matters with discretion—a practice that was seemingly maintained with the family’s internal affairs, too. Nate was old enough to remember when the incident at Smudgling Security transpired; what was told in confidence to clients, versus the obviously tailored story that was printed in the papers. Even more details that were likely kept from both, that only the Smudglings themselves were privy to.
No, Nate didn’t think what Tierney Smudgling-Gunne wanted was the infamy that he had. But she wasn’t a child anymore, either—she wanted the seat at the table that she’d inconveniently inherited to be recognized, she wanted to be respected as a player in the game. Nate looked at the way she held herself tall, chin up, unapologetic and full of youthful arrogance that hadn’t yet been strained by the burden of adulthood or scarred by bearing witness to harsh realities that would surely come for Tierney Smudgling-Gunne, the heir of the Smudgling legacy, in time. Nate wondered if that’s what Harriet would have looked like, if Nate had failed to survive their birth as he had been so close to doing—as it often felt like he was meant to—and it had instead been Harriet alone left to ascend as the prodigal heir to the empire, instead of him. It would have suited Harriet, Nate thought as he saw his sister’s likeness, the ghost of a life that could have been, reflected in Tierney Smudgling-Gunne.
And then, when it was just Nate and Tierney standing toe to toe like pieces on a Wizard’s Chess board, he hissed, “Look, whatever game he’s got your people playing—leave Xiomara out of it. She’s not the one who broke the agreement. I did.”
“Come on, we were just getting to know each other. Don’t be pissed at me. I didn’t break your contract. Or write it.” Tierney shrugged. “I just filed it. Most of those are just copy-and-tweak jobs, but yours had loads of batshit creative language in it.”
“Yes, well—my father is nothing if not creative when it comes to punishing his own…” Nate deflected, in a tone that was both indifferently bleak and unnervingly blithe, as was expected as part of the Nathaniel Pinnock Brand.
“Why in hell would you sign that? This will be ugly for you.”
“If you’re so familiar with these sorts of agreements, then I assume you’ll know all about how Pinnocks are fond of using leverage to…force the hand, that signs the contract.” As if he’d really had any choice, at the time—the luxury of reading through the fine print, of actually considering the consequences of signing that fucking thing when Xiomara was being dangled dangerously right in front of his face.
“You really are in the shit, aren’t you?” Tierney muttered.
Nate glanced over at Xi as she chatted with Ruma and he felt a swell of anger, of bitterness at what had been done to them, flare up within him, and the sigil on his hand seared orange in response. Sure, it was manageable now—kind of embarrassing to be literally branded as a fuck-up in a physical, and not just symbolic sense; but Nate was gone from High Society and it was just a stupid marking, so who cared? Plenty of people got far more humiliating things inked permanently to their skin when they were wasted, anyway.
Unless Tierney was delivering him a warning, and not just a taunt. How far was Nate’s father willing to go, to control him? How ugly were things going to get for him, for Xi, if Hamilton Pinnock III didn’t get what he wanted?
Nate frowned, and kept his voice low when he said, with a tone that was distinctly less of a performative drawl, less for show, “Hypothetically speaking, what sort of…persuasion would it take for you to—remind me, of the specifics of those ‘creative’ terms, again?”
Tierney tossed her bob in a way she thought probably looked aloof and grown up. “I’m not saying this to make you feel bad, Nate: there’s not much you have to persuade me with at the moment. Your social capital’s all dried up.”
In truth, she hardly needed any more encouragement. All her memories were of seeing him at a distance, across rooms and years. He’d seemed even taller, actually, when she was small and the world towered over her. Now he was right here before her. It made her laugh, in the way she had to clench her abdomen to suppress or she’d never stop, and that was enough.
Nate shrugged at the insult with indifference, the thought of engaging in a verbal Showing of Arms with a teenager—the ones he’d sought out for fun when he was a pompous little asshole at Tierney’s age—holding so little appeal to Nate at the moment that he just felt tired thinking about it. He felt Xiomara’s eyes on him, again, and he glanced her way in time to see her mouth at him pointedly, ‘what the fuck?’ and then jerk her head in the direction of the door to say, ‘let’s fucking GO.’
Well, this seemed like a waste of time, anyway, Nate thought as he made to give a curt have a nice fucking life to Tierney Smudgling-Gunne.
But then she did something totally weird and unexpected, and offered him a cordial gesture. Ugh, it was almost fucking friendly…
Tierney took a tiny, prim sip of her sparkling water, and then threw Nate his lifeline with all the grace of tossing a losing duelist a wink after a match. I did it. I did it when you couldn’t. “But hey! It might not be that way forever. One day you’ll get back on your feet, champ, and I might need a friend. A hedge friend. How about we say—you owe me a favor?” She held out her pinkie.
Nate stared at the pinky she proffered—a pinky, seriously?—with unveiled suspicion, waiting for her to drop into the gotcha! part of this charade. But she just stood there, hand out, waiting.
Nate had to admit that he was mildly impressed, that someone of Tierney’s age and social status even knew what a hedge witch was. And something about the sheer audacity that glimmered boldly in her eyes, the irony of the heir to Smudgling Security—known across the world for crafting brass-bound magical contracts—offering to pinky swear him her tentative alliance…it made Nate smirk with genuine amusement, getting under his skin in a way that was truly rare. It reminded him, again, of Harriet.
“You are nothing like I expected you to be, Tierney…” Nate said, feeling absurd as he reached out the pinky of the hand that did not bear the Smudgling Sigil, and fleetingly touched the end of it to Tierney’s before dropping his hand back down.
He took one more sip of his drink, made a face, rolled his shoulders. Then said offhandedly, “So do you have like…a business card, then, or something? A fucking—cell phone number, I guess?” He made yet another averse facial expression as the words left his tongue.
“Yes, I have a fucking phone number,” Tierney imitated, taking gleefully great pains to botch Nate’s accent. She unholstered her wand and spelled her digits onto the side of his cup with a flourish, snorting at his pinched and pitiful expression.
“There you go, grandpa. Call me!” As she turned away she rolled her eyes at Linden, all Christ what a fuckin gobshite!, and they fell back together on the sofa with smirks and barely suppressed snickers, looking like the world’s most horrid, insipid schoolgirls gearing up to burst into mean laughter and take the piss once you were out of earshot. Which—they were!

Rolanda Hooch: Character Intro
Character Name: Rolanda Xiomara Hooch
Age & Birthday: 02 April 1947
Gender & Pronouns: Female; She/Her
Blood status: Half-Breed (Harpy)
Sided: Order of the Phoenix supporter
Occupation: Retired Holyhead Harpies Chaser; Hogwarts Flying Instructor
School
Hogwarts Slytherin Alumni
Quidditch Captain/Chaser
Bio
GROWING UP
Rolanda was born to an unknown woman in an unknown location, left on her muggle father’s doorstep with naught but the basket she was left in, and her birth certificate. To this day, she isn’t sure if Garret Hooch is truly her father, or if he had fallen prey to a game or con of a magical being, leaving her a changeling in an unforgiving world. Her father did his best by her, working hard as a lighthouse tender in the South Stack lighthouse of Holyhead, thinking nothing of her parentage with her wild mop of fiery hair and golden eyes.
She often assisted him as best she could, feeling free with the sea air in her hair, and standing on the railing looking out over the ocean. His first hint as to what she was happened when her fiery red hair started bleaching out more and more until it grew in so brightly blonde it was no longer able to be passed off as simple bleaching of the sun.
Unfortunately for him, it was in a burst of accidental magic during a temper tantrum that saw him suffering a broken spine. While the doctors were able to give him most of his ability to walk, the pain would linger for the rest of his life. He self-medicated this pain with more and more whiskey as time went on, growing apathetic and leaving more of his work to young Rolanda. She learned after that unfortunate incident to contain her wild temper for more appropriate time and place, leaving many of the empty bottles of whiskey shattered under the force of thrown rocks in the small backyard of the ramshackle home she grew up in.
START OF THE WAR
Her Hogwarts letter answered many questions she didn’t even know she had, and the magical world at first seemed just that: magical. She thought she’d found a place where she actually belonged. But then she learned the darker portion of the wizarding world when she was 14, having run afoul of a member of the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures when he correctly identified her as harpy-blooded and she found faces that had previously been welcoming suddenly outright hostile.
But her escape was taking to the skies as if she was born there, often being found with wind-wild hair and a nearly feral look to her eyes. But she’d found something she was good at–great even, and even those that hated her for what she was couldn’t deny her talent nor skill. Though even as she began making a name for herself, she continued going home, picking up after her father, and working in the lighthouse every summer.
Just prior to graduation, she was offered an opportunity to try out for the Pride of Portree where she made starting chaser straight out of Hogwarts. She played for the Pride for three years before being offered a position with the Holyhead Harpies, and while the contract earned slightly less, she took it for the opportunity to live near her father to better be able to care for him.
She was a Quidditch player by day and a caretaker by night for five years before Garret succumbed to his age and his injuries. She went through a rough time then, drinking and womanizing her way through players and fans alike until the lifestyle ended with a pair of bludgers to the back while playing the Magpies, shattering her spine, shoulderblade, and tearing all of the connective tissue in her left shoulder and elbow. While St. Mungos could fix most of it, the nerve damage in her left arm was too great to continue competing at the professional level, so she found herself medically retired and unemployed.
PRESENT TIME
Dumbledore was her saving grace, offering her the newly open position of Flying Instructor with the understanding she would also fill the role of Quidditch officiant on game days. And while it wasn’t her dream, she was still connected to the skies and given a home once again. Albeit, with the explicit understanding that the drinking and womanizing was to stop, for she was now a member of Hogwarts staff and would be expected to live up to everything that entailed.

A Cuban Marxist woman philosopher on Hegel
Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos is little known in the West, but one of the greatest Marxist woman philosophers of the 20th century. And one of the greatest dialectical materialists of a communist state. There is a different flavor to the philosophy dealing with the dialectics of change under capitalist exploitation vs socialist construction. She wrote several books of Marxist philosophy. She died tragically young at 44 in 1985.
Below are translated excerpts from the official Cuban journal of philosophy, related to her study of Hegel:
Title: Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos: Academia y Revolución Author(s): Xiomara García Machado Date of publication: February 02, 2009 "The dead do not miss their appointment with the dawn, the dead have mouths and hearts and feet, the dead have arrived, time summons them, the dead are stars that have no reverse" The Resurrection Silvio Rodríguez Zaira Rodriguez Ugidos. Havana. (1941-1985)
A decisive sign of the theoretical production of Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos lies in her consistent attachment to the work of the classics of Marxism. This acquires essential meaning if one takes into consideration that in the process of shaping the Marxist thought of the 20th century, anti-Engelsian and anti-Leninist positions were legitimated, which circulated especially in the so-called Western or critical Marxism. The critical capacity of the theoretical activity of Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos was aimed at considering the classical form of the theory, far from the tendency to reduce classical Marxism to the work of Karl Marx, an idea that circulated among the Marxists of the European and Latin American academy. . The degree of misrepresentation of the work of Engels and Lenin that was consumed in the intellectual and academic circles of the world, at the height of the seventies, [22] did not affect the form of Marxist production in which Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos is inserted. On the contrary, it leans towards the systematization of the materialist conception of history, and towards the creative assumption of the Engelsian and Leninist heritage. In this way, the dissemination of the work of the classics of Marxism-Leninism was addressed directly to the sources and not to the manual interpretations that impoverished the essence of said theoretical work, this being a qualitative sign of the form of theoretical production and of the pedagogical activity of Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos. One of the theoretical problems to which Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos pays attention in the dissemination of the classical theory of Marxism is that of the criticism of the abstract approach of the human essence typical of classical German philosophy, taken as a theoretical source of the philosophy of Marxism. classical, specifically, the Hegelian and Feuerbachian conception of man in general. This theoretical problem is raised from the interest in disseminating the classical position of Marxism through the Prologues written by Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos for the Cuban editions of Phenomenology of the spirit by JGF Hegel[23] and The essence of Christianity, by L. Feuerbach..[24] Said theoretical problem takes on functionality to systematize, in a didactic way, the question of the theoretical sources of Marxism in another text, The criticism of post-Hegelian bourgeois thought is exploited in these essays by Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos to systematize, for the sake of didactic interest, topics typical of the theoretical preparation of specialists in philosophy. For this reason, the radical distinction between the anti-Hegelianism characteristic of the different currents of postclassical bourgeois thought with respect to the theoretical work of Marx and Engels takes on a first-order meaning, when he points out: "[M]arxism ("¦) was capable of retaking and rework the most valuable principles of Hegelianism, but Marx and Engels adopt an eminently critical attitude, an attitude of definitive rupture with all previous philosophical thought and especially with that of Hegel, due to its clearly contemplative and idealizing character."[26] assumption of the problem of the human essence, The way that definitively determines the position of Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos before the problem of the human essence, is postulated through the criticism made by classical Marxism in relation to classical German philosophical thought, which is explained through the development that prints to said theoretical problem through the didactics developed for the sake of the teaching of Marxism. The criticism of the Hegelian conception of man in general, which is contained in the radical rupture of Marx and Engels with respect to this theoretical source of their thought, is synthesized by Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos in the call for attention that the theoretical source (Hegel ) leaves the problem of the human essence in a state of understanding that it was necessary to overcome. To the same extent ""says Zaira-, this overcoming indicated the assumption of what Hegel had achieved in the conception of man as a product of historical and social work, that is, determined by his active (productive) and socially necessary essence. This essence revolutionary of Hegelian thought, despite the idealistic condition that the German classic gives to his understanding of the human essence, this was established for the first time in the history of human thought based on the principle that: "the roots of man must be sought in the social whole."[27] This overcoming has to deal with the theoretical level that this issue reaches with Hegel, namely: the universalist and totalizing construction of man as the summit of modern rationalism[28] that drags -from Descartes to Hegel-, an abstract vision of reason as the essential and determining quality of the human race.[29] In the consideration of Zaira, the vision of Hegelian philosophy is systematized as a theoretical source of Marxism, due to the fact that Hegel performs, under the idealistic form, "a shift in the way of explaining the relations of man" "as rationality- and of the world as absolute." [30] This leads to its maximum development the conception of man in general when it definitively breaks with the concept of rationality understood as "distinctive property of the individual and finite thinking subject"[31] to open new and definitive perspectives in the study of processes social history that would be dialectically and materialistically assimilated by the classics of Marxism. Said opening, as Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos points out, is marked by the character of the Hegelian reflection of the man who: [31] to open new and definitive perspectives in the study of the social historical processes that would be assimilated dialectically and materialistically by the classics of Marxism. Said opening, as Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos points out, is marked by the character of the Hegelian reflection of the man who: [31] to open new and definitive perspectives in the study of the social historical processes that would be assimilated dialectically and materialistically by the classics of Marxism. Said opening, as Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos points out, is marked by the character of the Hegelian reflection of the man who: "¦it leaned from its beginnings towards themes of an ideological-cultural and political-social nature. The framework in which the Hegelian theory of man was developed is that of the Objective and Absolute Spirit; and the position from which Hegel analyzes the problems of religion , of knowledge, of politics and of natural law is precisely the opposite of any subjectivist approach, when it assumes a socio-historical perspective. In addition to being concerned with the total value of man, that is, with man understood as a social and cultural being" ¦[32] The systematization of the problem of the sources of Marxism in relation to the issue of the human essence, constitutes one of the model analyzes in terms of the ability to produce a consistent exposition of a theoretical problem without affecting its revolutionary essence. In this sense, Zaira directs his attention to the educational dimension of the philosophy of Marxism in tune with the core of the classical Marxist approach. This supposes, in turn, the rescue of the revolutionary assumption by Marx and Engels of the best of previous thought, concentrated and synthesized in Hegel and Feuerbach, as opposed to the dogmatic and formalist approach of manualist Marxism, advocated by different forms of vulgar Marxism. . This systematization of the theoretical sources of Marxism, carried out by Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos, is developed and completed in the critical analysis of the problem of the human race, or of the human essence conceived in an anthropological and contemplative dimension by Feuerbach's materialism when he points out: [T]he Feuerbachian problematic of anthropological philosophy is conditioned by a naturalistic and sensualist empiricism whose core principle is man. ("¦) If every idealistic philosophy reduces man to pure consciousness, to spirit, to thought, anthropology feels the need to define man from head to feet, as a psychophysical unit, with a corporeal being and possessing needs and desires, reason and sensibility.[33] as in postclassical bourgeois philosophical thought. Faced with such positions, the conceptualization of Zaira Rodríguez Ugidos that enriches the position of classical Marxism, from a very valuable didacticism, is a critical position that does not allow her to become an exhibitor of the classical or post-classical bourgeois vision about the human essence.

○○○ — I’ll Be The Father You Never Were — ○○○
Marcelo's head ricocheted against the ceramic floor causing stars that would usually glaze the night sky to dance in his line of vision. The last thing he saw before complete darkness was his father's fist charging at him like an angry bull.
02/18/2019
A choking gasp racked through Marcelo’s chest, forcing him to bolt into an upright position and frantically scan his old bedroom. He finally found the concerned gaze observing him from the frame of the door. “When did you get in and why are you watchin’ me like I’m one of ya brizzas?” His brother E.J ignored him, striding further into the room. When he reached the foot of the California king-sized bed, an uneasy grimace played upon his wide lips. “You still have those nightmares?" There was no point denying the obvious, so Marcelo nodded slowly before changing the subject. “You didn’t have to come, EJ. I know you have a game tomorrow and Barcelona needs their best midfielder if they got a chance at winning against the Lyons.”
“And I’ll be there, but I wasn't going to let you face him by yourself without backup. Mami and Aiyana were tossing bottles of Chateau Petrus back like it was Wray & Nephew when I got in this morning. Yanna told me how you went all postal so I thought it was best if they had a girls day. They didn’t need to deal with pop after that.” Marcelo’s eyes dropped from E.J at the disappointment evident in his brother’s voice. “I just been tossing ah pebble of my fury at a lake, letting my rage turn into ripples at the wrong people, pero te prometo que no volverá a suceder. Marcelo assured moving off the bed and slipping into his Balenciaga slides. “I know it won’t, but you still need to get that under control. It’s not good for you or anyone else’s health.” E.J said as he wrapped an arm around Marcelo's shoulders, pulling him into a hug. “He’s here isn’t he?” His brother wasn’t the type to show physical affection unless it was absolute. "Yeah, he got in about two hours ago. Juanita had the staff serve him breakfast so you could get a little more sleep. We both figured you weren’t in a rush to see him. He's waiting for you in the billiard room with Uncle Alberto." Though he was haunted by one of the many dark memories that would penetrate his dreams, Marcelo was thankful for the three hours of sleep he managed to get. His night consisted of Bonita assaulting his eardrums when he finally made the effort to call her. “Me gustaría hablar con mi hijo solo,” Eliseo spoke after Marcelo and E.J made it to the right wing of the house. "Anything you have to say to him you can say in front of me." Eliseo's impassive expression didn't falter, but Marcelo caught the scorching stare E.J received. He gave his brother a nod, letting him know it was okay. They held each other’s gaze before E.J sighed. “Alright, I’ll be down the hall,” He informed as he started towards the door with Alberto following behind. Eliseo wasn’t into formal greetings unless a check is involved. He was about business, and that’s exactly what he got down to once they were alone. "I already have my people looking into the leak. Whoever is responsible will be dealt with accordingly. What I need you to tell me is how you could be so stupid, huh? When she told you she was pregnant, you should’ve come to me instead of taking matters into your own hands. I’m sure her parents would have agreed bringing a child into the world at your age wasn’t a good idea, especially with how dysfunctional you all relationship were. Do you even know if it really is y—”
“Her name is Xiomara, not it,” Marcelo growled, his father instinct kicking in which Eliseo merely scoffed at. "How do you know Xiomara is your child? Zyla really went out of her way to hide Xiomara from you when you were already aware she was pregnant, why not just tell you she decided to keep it? I mean, you didn’t do that well of a job hiding your infidelities and hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. It'd be easier to put this responsibility on the person who she was publicly with at the time. Her family could handle this kind of backlash better than their daughter taking on the label as a —”
"You're kiddin', right?” Marcelo interposed, “My past is dirtier than one of Uncle Alberto's whorehouses and most of it is out for the world to see. If I was Zyla, from the type of family she comes from, the last thing I would do is pin a baby on me. Besides, I bet they’ve seen the video of you draggin' my mother out of that elevator like she was a rag doll. Let’s not forget abuelo made headlines when he straight up murdered your mother. Dig deep enough, and they might just find that police report you made disappear on how you almost took mines out as well. Yeah, we got dough outta our asses, but that doesn’t make up for what our family is known for. I wouldn't purposely want anything like that attached to my name. Drop that Maury Povich show you’re trying to kick up because it doesn't make any sense." He retorted through clenched jaws. Marcelo didn't know why he felt the need to take up for Zyla's honor against his father's accusations. Of course, his feelings for her were as volatile as their relationship was. He knew he loved her, but he hated how they couldn't be together. She came from respectable people and she had a future that Marcelo wasn’t sure he would live to participate in. Plus, he couldn't allow her to be strangled by his or his family's scandalous reputation. Unbeknown to most, he had intentionally sabotaged his own relationship. Too selfish to give up the only thing that made him happy at the time, he’d push Zyla until she had enough; Marcelo just didn't expect they would end on her being pregnant and him almost attacking her over the fate of their unborn child. Eliseo’s eyes blazed with animosity, his stony persona dropping the minute Marcelo brought up his deceased mother."Just because you might have gone half on some bastard child, doesn't mean you can talk to me like you’re a man! No toleraré la misma falta de respeto como lo hace tu madre! Since you're positive that the kid is yours, how do you plan to take care of her? She didn't come out of my nutsack so I hope you don't expect me to provide for her like she did. I’ve enabled you enough to the point that you think you can do and say whatever you want!"
“Habilitado yo? Everything you've given me has been nothing but your way of apologizing for how poorly you've treated me. Aiyana and E.J experienced your wrath, but I always got the worst of it. And you want to know why? Because whenever you look at me, it's like staring in the mirror, I'm everything you despise about yourself: the only difference between us is that I didn't sit back like a coward when my mother was getting beat as if she was a grown man. Now stop actin’ like I’m the same eleven year old you can put through a floor ‘cause I’m not" Marcelo ridiculed, “Nah, I’ll beat ya like ah nigga on the street that owes me some funds.” Eliseo's muscles stiffened, his head cocking to the side. “Cojones gettin’ too big for your own good, mijo.” He laughed condescendingly as he continued to instigate the suffocating tension. “You think I use to fucked you up back then? When I’m done with you now a doctor won’t be able to bring you back.” That’s all it took to set Marcelo off. He leaped forward, a demonic rage twisting his features. His brown orbs fired flames as he swung his fist against his father's jaw. Eliseo stumbled back before lunging at Marcelo, and their battle for dominance commenced. They wrestled one another against walls, the sound of knuckles colliding with bones filled the air. E.J and Alberto charged into the room, separating the father and son. Alberto held Eliseo as E.J captured Marcelo’s forearms in a tight grip. Spitting blood on the floor as he breathed heavily, Marcelo gazed at his father with hatred. “Me and mines good without you, my nigga! You don’t gotta worry about providing a damn thing because lu’l shawty won’t even be at your funeral.” He roared as E.J hauled him out of the room. At that moment, Marcelo made up his mind. He didn’t know how but he was going to be the father Eliseo never was to both of his children. "Come on Marcelo I’m going to stop at your house so you can pack some clothes, you're coming with me back to Spain for a bit to chill out. " E.J calmed, leading him out the front door and towards his rental car.

CHAPTER 02: CLASH OF WILLS
Following the release of Alexander Church, those that felt wronged by this verdict and that corruption won out over justice inside the government decided to take things into their own hands. Protests of circumstances turned violent, the crowds became rabbles, and the first place they struck was The Cake Walk.
A bakery owned by Church, windows were shattered and walls caved as the place was set on fire, the building well on its way to destruction before aurors arrived on scene, customer Leila Al-Amin dead inside while the fervor of the attackers spread, innocent bystanders getting caught up in the fighting.
All of Diagon Alley was caught up in the frenzy and the trouble spread through Knockturn Alley as well, those inside The White Wyvern meeting with severe trouble. As a pub with a reputation for being kind of creatures, it has a rough atmosphere that can bring in an even rougher crowd.
By the end of the night, both Mafalda Hopkirk and Xiomara Rojas were arrested - Hopkirk for smashing a bottle over someone’s head and Rojas for using an unknown spell to defend injured coworker Odette Vogel, who has been relocated to St. Mungo’s.
In retaliation for these assaults, radicals on the other side of the equation decided to take matters into their own hands and attack those they believe to truly deserve punishment.
Those related to or known to be close associates of accused Death Eaters were targeted by the other side, Carrow Manor attached by a mob that was eventually restrained and the home of former Ministry Employee Barty Crouch was attacked as well.
While there aren’t any known casualties so far from any of these targeted attacks, Delilah Carrow has disappeared from her flat amid the chaos and it’s suspected she’s fled for the safety of family in Kent.
Despite the auror presence sweeping the streets, the chaos is too widespread to be easily contained, both sides escalating and leaving the final damage caused by the riots to be in question.
