So, I've got this running theory about each of the Xiaolin Warriors greatest fears as seen in "Dreamscapes". It's not that the Dragons are each afraid of these things directly, but rather that they all represent an event of some kind that hurt them personally. And I have my own headcanons of what those events are and why they manifest in these ways.

Kimiko's doll, Tamochika, is representative of her fear of social ostracization and what happens if she loses her temper in front of others too much. Her fire powers awakening in front of her classmates would've made them afraid of her, especially if what she burned when they awakened was her favorite childhood doll. Hence it's half-melted appearance.

Raimundo's being a jellyfish of some kind points to it having something to do with the ocean, which makes sense since he's canonically a surfer. I think that Raimundo's was paddling out too far into the water one day when young, and finding himself surrounded by a flock of jellyfish trapped on his board. All while the tide was coming in, and no one else could reach him. Leaving him with no one to depend on and having to gradually surf back to shore by himself, which he was proud of. But all he got when he made it back was being scolded for not listening and getting himself in trouble.

Clay's being his Granny Lily points to a family-based trauma. My thought there is that Granny Lily was the last straw when it came to Jesse finally running away from home. Needling and nitpicking Jesse too much for being so "unladylike" until she ran out. With Clay feeling guilty because he had it so hardwired into him to listen to his dad and Granny that he both couldn't speak up and tell her to stop, or leave the table to try and go after Jesse.

And Omi's being a squirrel, I have my own idea too. My thought is that, when younger, Omi found an unwell squirrel and wanted to help it. So he brought it back to the temple and tried caring for it, even though Fung warned him that it was in bad condition and it would be best to let nature take its course. And then when it took a turn for the worse, Omi went running all over the temple to find Fung and ask for help with it. But by the time he found him, it was too late and it was gone. And rather than giving comfort, Master Fung only replied that he had warned him, and that Omi must accept its not within his power to save everyone, and gave Omi the tools to bury it properly on his own as the "honorable" thing to do. So for Omi this is less about the loss of the squirrel and more about his deeper understanding that Fung would not be there for him in the way he really needed.

Woop woop! you get a WIP of Shadow's dragon form- and a female version of Shun's dragon. Because I wanted to design Chase's mom (it's a long story dont worry about it)

You know what could've been an interesting storyline for Shadow in Xiaolin Chronicles?

Instead of making Chase her creator, they could've brought back Hannibal and have his obsession of controlling Chase be the reason why Shadow exists.

Have him sneakily take a piece of Chase's hair or something and use his Heylin demon magic to create Shadow, and manipulate her into being his obedient servant — just like he would've with Chase Young.

And as the show progresses, Shadow would question her entire existence as being "a clone of her mentor's cherished enemy" and try to be break free from Hannibal's grasp and learn to be her own person (maybe with the help of Kimiko too).

It seems all Xiaolin Chronicles is on YouTube.

Despite watching XS multiple times and being vaguely aware when it came out I had never watched XC

Despite having seen some clips from XC ages ago it's really not what I expected.

Im ngl the CGI Tron ass Showdowns made me laugh a little at how unexpected they where

The VA changes were expected but still feel strange! (Clay in particular loses his southern charm)

Also; look at how they massacred my boy

They took peak design and fumbled the bag.

Also why does he get his red eyes back in the 2010 Wii game shovel wear ass CGI

I do actually think the showdowns having an animation style change is very cool and could have been done well. I just don't think the CGI aged well.

Willow/shadows design goes hard as fuck!

The jealousy arc from Omi is kinda annoying but he is so cute I literally can't stop loving him. I'm so glad he kept the same VA because it would probably be unwatchable otherwise.

Ping pong is cute but is literally Omi 2. Him speaking lots of languages at the start was pretty cute!

Chase is serving high camp but he's only in it for one scene

I'm ngl watching feels like watching a young kids fanfic of XS.

I'll write an actual review at some point but damn if I would have tuned in expecting more XS i'd have been a little disappointed but tentatively hopeful?

I guess I'll have to watch more.

Adding this to the list of "edits that probably worked a lot better in my head". Was actually very hard to remove Shadow and replace him with Chase, and it shows.

It’s the fact that Shadow is disgusted by Chase giving birth when Chase literally gave birth to her and she came out as a fetus not an egg. And yet is still trying to fuck her because this show insists it’s not incest it’s an Adam and Eve metaphor when last time I checked Eve didn’t come out of Adam’s chest as a god damn baby

Haven’t had a proper new sona for a while so a 3 eyed shadow person felt fitting.

And I wanted to draw the original blorbo that kept me going with them because I know his design from memory and any new Jack spicer fanart is great for the old fandom
