1) kid!Chase, Dashi and Dojo go buy some groceries for the temple

Dashi: Oh, would you look at that! It appears I have lost Chase in the crowd! Dojo: Yes, we should search for that kid! Chase, pushing one person away so the rest could see him: I'm standing right here, actually! Dashi: Damn, I can hear him but I can't see him in the midst of all these normally-sized people! Dojo: Erm, Dashi…. I advise you NOT Chase, anger evident on his face: Don't you dare finish that sentence Dashi, already wheezing: - because he's SO S H O R T! Chase: incoherent angry shrieking Dashi: Lol Dojo: facepalms

2) couple of years later, Guan is a new member of the team and THIS happens:

the team: loses Chase in the crowd Guan: That's unfortunate. Maybe I'll go up the hill and try to spot him from there? Dojo: Naah, no need. Dashi: yes! I got this~! Dashi: (softly) PST PST PSpspspspst Guan: ???????? Dojo: (tired sigh) Guan: … How was that supposed to- Chase: (pushes through the crowd) How dare you 'pspspst' at me IN PUBLIC?! Dashi: releases the dorky laugh he's been holding on Guan: I have no idea what happened and I'm too scared to ask. Dojo: Well, you don't have to. It's just… how they show affection, I guess. Also, Chase loves cats. Guan: Ah, that explains… a little bit. Dojo: nods

3) With time, Guan realizes he's fed up with Chase's obsession with cats but he knows how to turn it to his advantage.

Dojo: Oh no! We lost Chase again! Guan: Don't worry. I've got this. Dojo: You sure? Guan: Just look at all these cats laying around on the ground! Dojo: … What cats? I don't see any- Guan, louder: WOW, LOOK HOW ADORABLE THEY ARE! LYING AROUND AND SLEEPING. Dojo, getting the cue: Ah, right! They're so cute. Guan: What a pity Chase isn't here to appreciate their beauty. Dojo: yeah, he doesn't know what he's missing! the two of them hear distant quick footsteps. Guan, continuing: That would be a shame if someone picked them up and removed them, thus disturbing their sleep! (Guan pretends to get down on his knees so Chase could see it) Chase, ready to fight: PUT THEM DOWN! LET THEM SLEEP! And most importantly, SHOW ME THE CAT! Guan, chuckling: I'm afraid I can't fulfill any of your requests! Chase, surprised there are no cats: Where are the cats? Guan: There are no cats. I lied. Please forgive me but it was the only way to find you. Chase: … Well done, you manipulative piece of- Dojo: HEY HEY HEY! LANGUAGE!

Chase: .... I'm sorry, Dojo.

Chase, bowing to Guan: Please, never do that again.

Guan, bowing back: I promise!

For Chase, controlling his real form is a real hard job, all his progress would go to the drain everytime hes forced to use it Surprisingly in that creepy world his real form sees this little redhead seems to be the only thing that fits perfectly, not like hes scary at all, but hes enough to stop him
