xz studio weibo update
Recently, "Qi Entertainment" and its members Ma, Ding and other personnel stated that the company has full authority to represent our artists in all aspects of their work, and stated that they have fully taken over all the artist's management business. At the same time, it was discovered that the team who claimed to be the "artist’s relatives" and spread rumors had changed, and even forged official seals, artist signatures, seals, authorization letters and other bad behaviors. The studio now clarifies that neither the artist nor the team knows such people, and has not established any channels of communication or cooperation with the company.
The studio has previously announced the official cooperation email address. Please keep your eyes open and do not be deceived and cause any losses by trusting "recommendations from acquaintances".
We also hereby warn "Qi Entertainment", Ma, Ding and other relevant personnel to stop the infringement immediately. We will also reserve the right to pursue legal liability of relevant personnel.
The boss, XZ, commented on this post. but the meme he used is so cute lol

the ghost apple tree by @thefearofcod
10k words, rated m song lan/xue yang/xiao xingchen (the untamed/mdzs) summary:
Fixing up a decaying house in the woods is the same as addressing your problems. (sxx is haunted)
brawls' notes: i think about this fic a lot; i'm haunted by it. this is by far one of my favorite horror stories i've ever read—the vibes are off-the-charts and horrific in a very visceral, tense way. made me feel weird (positive). i hope it makes you feel weird too (this is a threat).
—
convergence by @astrophyllitely
33k words, rated e lan zhan/lan xichen, lan zhan/jiang cheng (the untamed/mdzs) summary:
Lan Wangji regains consciousness in a crashed spaceship on an unfamiliar planet. He is not alone; Lan Xichen is there. He is not alone; Jiang Wanyin is there. But never both at once.
brawls' notes: space horror? check. psychological horror? check. uneasy and tense alien vibes? also check. beautiful push and pull of the narrative, paired with an an intense feeling of claustrophobia. there's a particular moment that had my heart right in my throat. stunning.
—
mockingbird by MarInk
82k words, rated e stiles stillinski/peter hale (teen wolf) summary:
Stiles works tirelessly to keep the roof over his heads and longs for a proper challenge for his brains. Peter chafes under his sister's authority and nurses big, bloody dreams. One day, the two are connected by a mistaken text message. One never knows who is on the other end of a wrong number. Sometimes it's somebody one will come to cherish and adore. Sometimes it's a ruthless, unapologetic monster. Sometimes it's both.
brawls' notes: sometimes you read something and are just blown away by it, forever altered. that's what this was for me. want a type of monster-au you've never seen before? this is it. also: ostensibly a wrong-number au, but don't be fooled. (i was.)
—
never meant by nonhicsumus
3k words, rated m alex krycek & dana scully (the x-files) summary:
Sometimes the past isn't worth digging into.
brawls' notes: whump and psychological horror? plus alex krycek?? my favorite. every word of this is perfection—i instantly wanted to read it again for the first time. you can.
—
fais do-do by @moku-youbi
18k words, rated e will graham/hannibal lecter (hannibal)
summary:
“Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.” ― Mary Shelley, Frankenstein (this fic does not have a summary, but begins with this quote)
brawls' notes: a different-meeting au packed with everything you need for the perfect horror story: violence, blood, a chase scene, and an unreliable narrator. delightful.
—
blackbird, fly by @acroamatica
19k words, rated m kylo ren/armitage hux (star wars: tfa)
summary:
One sunny afternoon in the mountains of Washington state, Ben Organa-Solo walked out into the woods. He never came home. Six years later, a journalist specialising in missing-persons cold cases decides to follow his footsteps and see where they might lead.
brawls' notes: a masterpiece of vibes. this reads so much like a spooky mystery novel, but with a creeping, anxious dread. perfect for the season if you want that true autumnal sort of chill. i've carried this fic in my heart for nearly a decade now—it has inspired me in my own writing so much over the years.
—
grey stars on the rise by @iodhadh
4k words, rated e song lan/xue yang/xiao xingchen (the untamed/mdzs) summary:
Xiao Xingchen comes back. Xiao Xingchen comes back wrong. It takes too long, maybe, for Xue Yang to realize something is wrong with Song Lan too.
brawls' notes: the exact embodiment of: be careful what you wish for. brutal and crushing and so deeply, utterly satisfying. absolute yi-city perfection: the vibes are wretched but strangely romantic (chefs kiss).
—
half your life you've been hooked on death by @whatever-you-can-give-me
4k words, rated m vash the stampede/nicholas d. wolfwood (trigun) summary:
Wolfwood is cornered in an alleyway. Things get worse before they get better.
brawls' notes: and what's a horror rec list without a little bit of gore? whump and blood and near-death-experiences—oh my. this is brutal and feverish and exactly the right flavor.
—
black rock mountain by @bokuno-jinsei
24k words, rated e will graham/hannibal lecter (hannibal) summary:
Will is a hitchhiker with questionable hobbies. Hannibal is a man who has questionable motives. When Hannibal drives by Will who just so happens to need a ride, things quickly take a turn from the questionable to the downright depraved.
brawls' notes: you know That Fic that is really the epitome of that pairing for you? yeah, this is it for me. perfect alternate first-meeting fic. lives rent-free in my head.
👻👁️🎃🔪👻👁️🎃🔪👻👁️🎃🔪👻👁️🎃🔪👻👁️🎃🔪👻👁️🎃🔪👻👁️🎃🔪
and hey, why not be a little self-indulgent: i can't help but rec a few of my own horror fics here, too:
old growth
21k, rated m song lan/xue yang/xiao xingchen (the untamed/mdzs) summary:
There’s something in the woods outside of their hometown. Xue Yang and Song Lan are going to find it.
brawls' notes: i tried something new with the formatting on this one and i think it panned out solidly and was a desperately fun way to tell the story. this is full of spooky, sleepless forest vibes.
—
what's real or isn't
57k, rated e kylo ren/armitage hux (star wars: tfa) summary:
Hux's new house is not haunted. It isn't.
brawls' notes: i honestly love playing favorites and this is one of mine. this was a load of fun to write—it's chock-full of vibes, personal experiences, local history, and love notes to my favorite horror stories.
—
acquiesce
16k, rated e original luo binghe/original shen qingqiu (svsss) summary:
After seeing the gentle and loving Shen Qingqiu of the other world, Luo Binghe returns to his own with a hunger that can only be satisfied by one thing—a Shizun of his very own.
brawls' notes: this isn't spooky or haunted, but it is psychological horror—packed with nightmares, flashbacks, dread, and manipulation. enjoy!

and that's it! hope you find something fun to read for this october

Our Song S3: Commercial Break
While I work on editing episode 5, I've posted a special chapter on AO3, with all the Our Song-related stuff I saw (and bought) in China!
You can read it here on AO3 or below the cut:
First off, a literal word from our sponsor: I found a UBEST ad. For a country where a lot of the population is lactose intolerant, there are a lot of milk ads. I guess when a lot of your potential market is lactose intolerant you have to advertise your milk more heavily than here.
I very much wish I'd been able to see someone in concert while I was there, but nobody I could find happened to be playing either of the cities on the few days I'd be there (Joker played Beijing DAYS after I left! 😫). But I did see ads for Jam Hsiao coming to Shanghai in August:
Wait... Who tf is Jam Hsiao, you may ask? You'll find out in episode 5!
Thanks to a tip from marlo-noni on tumblr, I found two "idol stores" in the Shanghai Jing'an Joy City mall, which were ground zero for merch. These stores were about 75% K-pop, but there was a decent amount of merch for Chinese singers and actors, along with a few current cdramas.
Photo cards are very popular, little playing-card-sized random photos of celebrities, some of which look official and some of which look like selfies from their social media. You can buy these singly, or in packs of like ten, or in actual decks. I didn't buy any, but I saw some for both Wang Sulong and Joker Xue:
I also saw some for Zhou Shen, who was in Season 1 of Our Song, but I forgot to take a photo of those. The first store especially also had a ton of these 6"x18" double-sided banners. This was the only Liu Yuning merch I saw on my trip! There were a ton of these but I bought these two, LYN and Joker (photos show first one side and then the other):
In the second photo, the text on Joker's banner reads 你是我今生未完成的歌 (You are the unfinished song of my life), lyrics from his song 未完成的歌 (Unfinished Song) from his 2009 album of the same name. The text on LYN's banner reads 一束光 / 黑夜的2 (A beam of light in the dark of night 2). 黑夜一束光 is the name of one of the songs on his 2019 album 十.
I also bought this Joker Xue bookmark (front and back):
The first idol store was also where I got an ACTUAL PIECE OF OUR SONG MERCH! It's got Xiao Zhan, who was on season 1, not 3, which you can watch here (it says 2 but it's 1)—the store had a whole section for Xiao Zhan merch.
Honestly, I almost didn't notice it in with all the other Xiao Zhan stuff—I don't even remember him wearing this outfit, though apparently he wore it for some of the promotional photos like this one. I eventually noticed the Our Song logo, though. I have to wonder if I would have seen other Our Song merch around if I'd actually been in China while it was airing, or if this was only made because of XZ's popularity (as a singer, overall he's not nearly as big a star as some people they've had on the show, but among people who shop at idol stores he may be the biggest lol).
My white whale of this trip was to buy at least one actual physical CD from an artist I like, or at least someone I know of. I asked on multiple subreddits where I might be able to buy CDs in China, only to be told over and over again that Chinese artists don't release physical media anymore and nobody cells Chinese CDs. The closest thing I got to a real answer was someone who suggested a bookstore chain they thought might maybe stock CDs at some locations, but with the warning that they probably mostly or only sold western artists. This turned out to be the biggest bookstore chain in China (and run by the government, unsurprisingly); I went to at least a couple different locations as well as many other bookstores and not a single one had CDs.
Finally, a couple days from the end of my trip, I was looking for more idol stores in Beijing and had the idea to Google where to get K-pop stuff, since the idol stores were mostly K-pop (the idol stores actually did sell K-pop CDs, as did a couple other places I saw, but not a single Chinese CD). This is what finally led me to a blog post about places to get K-pop stuff in Beijing, including CDs, which mentioned the store Disc in the Chaoyang Joy City mall! (Joy City seems to be a big mall chain in China, I went to two different ones in Beijing on top of the one in Shanghai.)
Unfortunately, once I got inside there were signs saying no photos - I'm not really sure why, but I really didn't want to get kicked out so I didn't take any! Which is a shame, because talk about hitting the jackpot! The very first thing I saw when I walked in was a bunch of George Lam CDs, along with Hacken Lee (who was a senior in S1).
I have no idea how the discs were organized, honestly. I think maybe the first section was Cantopop, since George and Hacken both recorded mostly in Cantonese and there was also a lot of Wang Fei (who has never been on Our Song afaik but I have some of her songs, she's recorded in both languages). Then was clearly Mandarin stuff, and maybe vaguely sort of in alphabetical order but not very strictly? And maybe also by genre? There were no signs on the shelves that I could find explaining the organization, listing genres or anything.
I opened my notes app and made a note with "Where can I find these?" in Chinese along with a list of the artists all in hanzi, but thankfully the guy I found to help me actually spoke pretty good English. I still showed him the list because it just seemed easiest. He knew exactly which ones they had in stock and where to find them.
They had two of Penny Tai's albums, a couple from Wang Sulong, a bunch of albums from Da Zhangwei's band The Flowers, one Da Zhangwei CD/DVD, and a bunch of Joker Xue albums. (As an example of the weird organization, the Da Zhangwei album was shelved with the Flowers albums, which suggest genre but not alphabetical, and Joker's stuff was on an endcap in a totally different part of the store that I never would have found.) I wound up buying a Flowers double album and Joker Xue's latest, Countless (I already knew I loved the title track from this album):
I will not say how much I paid for these; let's just say that the Joker CD was somewhat reasonably priced while the Flowers CD, which was released in 1999 and this is probably a copy from then, cost way more than I was hoping to spend. 😬 But I have yet to find a single Flowers album on eBay or yesasia.com or even iTunes—the few Flowers songs I have in my playlist I've ripped from YouTube—so I bought it. The guy helping me actually handed it to me telling me it was their best album; I'd assumed he was trying to sell me the most expensive one but believe it or not this double album was actually the cheapest one they had! I forget which album it was but one of the Flowers CDs was going for 1000RMB ($137)!
Joker's album, Countless, cost a little more than I'd normally pay for a CD in the US, but when I got it home and finally opened it, it very much earned that price! I was not expecting it to be full of more merch. It's in a very nice grey box to start with, then on top there was a black envelope that, when I opened it, contained several index-card-sized black and white photos of Joker. Plus instead of just simple liner notes with lyrics, there was a full little photo book, with the lyrics on the smaller black half-pages in between:
Also! I could not get a photo of this, but I heard Hu Xia's song 那些年 (which you'll see him perform soon) in the wild! We were eating breakfast at a pastry shop in Beijing and they were playing it! What's really funny is that my son realized it at the exact same time I did—"Mom, this is a song from your playlist!"
Of course, Our Song merch wasn't all I was looking for in China—to see some of the other merch and ads I saw, keep an eye on my PG Goes to China tag on Tumblr; I made some posts while I was there but I'll also be posting several themed roundups over the next couple of weeks! I might even post a few photos of boring things like the Great Wall and Forbidden City.
I promise next time I will be back with more actual Our Song. Until then, here is 无数, the title track I love so much from Countless:

Yao: *teaching Xiaobao the guqin*
Now you try.
Xiaobao: *plays, nervously~ as he wanted to get it right*
Yao: *smiles*
Xiaobao, who hasn't played any instrument in his life, still has a hidden potential. However he has a lot of practicing to do.
Guangyao is actually a great maestro to have, in terms of~ actually any skill. He also taught Rusong everything (other than Xichen, who was his private tutor)
The Mengs are known for their musical and dance talent, hence he loves to have music sessions with his family, or dance with Qin Su or team dimple~ or his beloved Lan Xichen.
Xiaobao: how is it, A-Die? I think that was awful.
Yao: no no, it wasn't.
It was beautiful. But next time, you should strum the strings lightly.
Use your fingernails.
Xiaobao: mn. I'll remember.
Rusong: I'll do the honours in teaching you the dizi and Xiao later. Once you master the guqin.
Yao: what a good bro.
Xiaobao: Rusong gege, Jingyi ge what instruments can you play?
Rusong: all, actually. But I love the guqin and pipa.
Jingyi: the dizi, Xiao and the guqin.
Xiaobao: waaaww!
Yao: Rusong can dance too.
Jingyi: yea. I'm not really a dancer but Rusong is pretty graceful.
Yao: I learnt dance and flexibility from A-niang. Then taught A-Song. Also A-Su dances.
It's an art.
Xiaobao: that's so interesting. But I feel I may pull a muscle.
Jingyi: bro same.
Yao: here. *shows him portraits of himself*
Yao: this is me, when I was funding an opera.
Xiaobao: you look so elegant. Well, as always.
Rusong: you're always so talented and remarkable!
Jingyi: everyone must have had their eyes on you.
But did they go crazy when they saw Huangdi dancing?
Yao: *laughing* yes they did.
Xiaobao: how did that work?
Yao: people would pay the owner of the opera house.
*smiling* it was pretty jam packed because you know, I'm the emperor. Who has fans.
I did this 8 times.
Then once I funded that theater, I decided to strengthen the performing arts sector of the empire.
This was all done when I started my career as Huangdi.
Rusong: it was successful. Because the Jianghu is now introduced to the beauty of fox spirits and their culture.
Yao: correct.
Xiaobao, soon you'll learn more about playing the guqin. Don't give up.
Xiaobao: I'll never give up!
Right now, I feel like playing for Nainai!
Even though it's a little awful, she would still love it.
Yao: she definitely would. Go play for her!
Xiaobao: I hope she doesn't laugh at me.
Rusong: nah, Nainai won't laugh.
Jingyi: she's always cheerful, so you won't realise if she's laughing at you.
Or with you.
Xiaobao: are you calling my music bad?!
Jingyi: *teasing* not like Hanguang Jun's
Xiaobao: who's Hanguang Jun?
Rusong: *whispers* whiny zhan.
Xiaobao: ohh whiny zhan! I know him.
Suyin was bullying him.
Yao: oh dear.
Jingyi: sorry, I'm just a musical critic.
Rusong: musical critics don't measure music in Hanguang Jun.
Xiaobao: *cracking up*
Jingyi: I'll start the trend.
Xiaobao: lol why did Suyin bully him?
Jingyi: because of Minshan.
Rusong: the root of all chaos is always team dimple.
Jingyi: always.
Yao: I agree.
Anyways, I told Shanshan to stay away from trouble though.
Xiaobao: do team dimple take a break?
Yao: nop.
Jingyi: team dimple is pure chaos.
24/7.
Xiaobao: I thought they were simps.
Rusong: *sigh* they are.
Jingyi: one of these days, we should capture them for funzies.
Xiaobao: YES!!! I'm up for it!
Rusong: count me in! Sometimes I'm a bit bored and need some entertainment.
Yao: you three are too chaotic together, aren't you. Planning to kidnap team d.
Don't you have your Nainai to trouble.
Rusong: we have to plan and argue in front of you first.
Jingyi: Diedie privileges.
Yao: that's fair.
Xiaobao: let's go see Nainai. *picks up guqin*
Rusong: let's go! Bye A-Die!
Jingyi: bye A-Die!
Yao: *laughing* these three.
At least Hua isn't as mischievous.
~~~
Meng shi: *having some snacks as well as tea* Sisi, is this a new brand of tea?
Sisi: oh yes it is, jiejie. It's Vietnamese.
Meng shi: ah.
Rusong: Nainai!
Xiaobao: *running in with the guqin in his arms* Nainai!
Jingyi: I'm here too!! Nainai.
Meng Shi: three babies all at the same time. I'm so lucky.
Trio: *hugs their Nainai*
Sisi: aww. So precious!
Meng Shi: how are you three?
Rusong: we're good. *kisses hand*
Xiaobao: Nainai, I came to play the guqin for you.
A-Die was teaching me.
Meng shi: aw waw! I would love to hear your music.
Xiaobao: *sits and rests the guqin on a table* but promise not to laugh at me.
Meng shi: why would I laugh at you. Everyone must start somewhere.
Do you want to hear what Yao'er and Song'er did when they were children?
5 year old Yao'er used to blow into the flute chaotically, waking everyone up the process.
He used to somehow climb off the bed and grab my flute.
Yao'er didn't dare touch the guqin because he thought that the strings would hurt his fingers.
When my jiejies come to our room, he would say, "it's not xiao Meng, I swear" everyone used to call him Xiao Meng.
Rusong: *cracking up* didn't know diedie could be so chaotic.
Jingyi: he went a long way.
Xiaobao: lol. He's so cute!
Meng Shi: Song'er around that age would try to play his A-Die's guqin. He would also turn into a fox and chew on the guqin's frame.
Rusong: *covers face* Nainai.
Jingyi: ahahahaha.
Meng Shi: Songsong chewed on everything imaginable, as a baby fox.
But it's cute.
Rusong: because it was fun!
Meng Shi: got that from Yao'er but worst. Yao'er used to only chew on my fan.
A-Bao, go ahead and play your guqin.
Xiaobao: ok! *begins*
Meng Shi: *enjoying the music, despite it sounding like a beginner's piece*
Xiaobao: *still shy*
Meng Shi: you're doing so well.
Xiaobao: thank you, Nainai!
Rusong: good joh.
Jingyi: well done.
And I don't want to be a music critic in front of Nainai.
Meng Shi: oh A-yi. I'm a goddess. I know already.
Rusong: can't hide anything from her.
Meng Shi: you three got to go have some fun out in the city. So here's some pocket money.
Maybe go have some lunch, a couple of drinks, buy something nice. Anything.
Jingyi: aww you're the best!
Rusong: we love you! Thanks Nainai.
Xiaobao: thanku Nainai.
Meng Shi: have fun babies, and buy something for your sisters.
Rusong: definitely.
Meng Shi: um, A-Bao. I forgot to ask.
*pours tea for him*
Xiaobao: what is it, Nainai?
Rusong: of course it's going to be about Huaien.
She did the same thing before asking if I had a girlfriend.
Meng Shi: ah, Songsong, don't tell him.
But you're correct. A-Bao, tell me about him. When are you two getting married?
I know A-Song has to get married first because he's the eldest, but I just want to know.
Xiaobao: well, Nainai. I was actually straight, and I thought that a disguised Huaien was a woman. But when I found out about his true identity, I realised that the feelings I had for him was still there.
Meng Shi: awwww. A cross dresser? I love them. They're so interesting. You know women used to dress as men, just to go out and do things a man would do.
But they don't need to do that, thanks to Ayao promoting gender equality.
Xiaobao: oh really??
Meng Shi: yep. One of my besties, Madam Lan had dressed up like a man and snuck into the brothel I was working in. Then that became a routine, and we became close friends.
Jingyi: Hanguang Jun's mom????????
Meng Shi: mhm. She's a lot like Lan Xichen, but resembles Lan zhan. Lan zhan acts like his dad but resembles his mom.
Anyways. Why was Huaien in a disguise?
Xiaobao: he had a tough life. His stepdad abused him, and used him to avenge his mom's death.
He's a really cruel person. Poor Huaien didn't even know what love was. I gave him loads of love, but he just pushed me away. I was determined to love and protect him.
Some events happened, and I got upset with him. But then he was the one who started loving and protecting me. We're happier and closer than before now.
Meng Shi: *emotional* aww, such a pure love story. You two are soulmates.
You have been through ups and downs, and loved each other unconditionally.
Look. I want you two to get married as soon as possible.
Xiaobao: we're actually planning to! Maybe after settling in the family some more.
Meng Shi: I see.
A-Song, when are you proposing to A-qing?
Rusong: *blushing* very soon. I'm waiting on a right time. But for my inauguration, I announced her as Furen so.
Meng Shi: ok baby. Don't rush.
Another adorable couple.
Jingyi: Nainai, all I have on again off again relationships.
Meng Shi: the right one will come. And I hope you're not a womanizer.
Jingyi: never. I treat everyone with respect.
Meng Shi: good. As expected of my grandson.
Go have fun, you three. A-bao, your guqin music is beautiful. Don't worry.
Xiaobao; I'll keep practicing.
*exits*
~~
Meng Shi: A-Si. I want to make another piece of cameo jewelry. You got any jewelers in mind?
Sisi: um....what about Zhang Zhiyue. He's really talented.
Meng Shi: great. I'll draw my design, and send it to him.
I want to make a sapphire bracelet with paintings of my grandchildren.
Sisi: aww.
Meng Shi: they're my happiness. And Yao'er is my life of course.
Sisi: that's an adorable idea. I'll contact them for you.
warning: negative self image, anxiety.
It was all too much. The emotions. The hurt. The loneliness. The hates online. Her family pressure. Everything was proving to get the best of y/n.
Y/n rocked herself slowly as she sat on the floor of her bathroom, her beautiful face stained with hours of crying, eyes bloodshot.
Usually, her anxiety was not that bad. She always had Zhan by her side whenever she felt on edge. He comforted her, told her that no matter whatever happens, he will always stay by her side till the very end. But now he wasn't here. Gone for over three months now to work on an upcoming drama. He knew how Y/n could get and called her whenever he had a minute to spare out of his tight-packed routine.
Y/n was greatful to the heavens above to have Zhan by her side. However, her past experiences stops her from believing that he'd never leave her behind. Her brain always telling her that all the people around her, even complete strangers, despised her, hated her, more so Zhan. It kept telling her that Zhan only stayed out of pity.
"He doesn't love you. Who you think will love you? Be greatful to him that he stayed with you this long. You deserve none of the affection he gives you."
"No," Y/n said. "It's not true. What you say."
"Oh? We both know he'll leave you sooner or later."
"No. Zhan loves me for me. He'll never leave me."
"It's a lie and you know it," the voice inside her head taunted her.
"He'll never leave me. He'll never leave me. He'll never leave me. HE'LL NEVER LEAVE ME!" Y/n screamed loudly as she grabbed her head in anguish trying to fight the voice that kept on telling her otherwise.
"Y/N!"
Zhan stood at the door of the bathroom, eyes glossed over as he watched the woman he loved so dearly battling herself.
In a second, he ran over to the girl, pulling her in his embrace. Zhan stroked her hair slowly as Y/n cried on the crook of his neck, wetting Zhan's t-shirt. He didn't care through. All he cared was the woman in his hold. He held her so tightly yet so carefully and gently as if a strong hold will break her. It might.
He kept comforting her, whispering sweet nothings in her ear. His own eyes pricked woth tears. He should've paid more attention attention her, he told himself. Although there was no one to be blamed.
When Y/n finally calmed down, she looked at Zhan who was silent but those black, almond eyes asked all the questions.
"Zhan. Don't leave me ok? Never," She said, smiling faintly.
Zhan moved some few strands of hair out of her face, smiling softly. "Of course, love. I could never leave you. Not even in a million years," He whispered, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Y/n smiled slowly, the tiredness taking over her body as she fell asleep in Zhan's hold.
Xiao carefully carried her to their bed, tucking her in. He softly caressed her face, a sad smile on his lips.
"I love you too much to leave you, Y/n."
When the media starts to question the actor about the rude behavior of their fans (like asking disrespectful questions to the actor) it's time to pack it up.
I don't care how much they commented, how much money they have to the artist, what gifts they bought none of that matters, the fact Apo stood there and had to answer that while also trying to not offend the fan is crazy and this is like the 3rd time he's been questioned about his own fans behavior. There is is dangerous a pattern forming and once his fanbase labelled as difficult or extreme it will have an effect on who chooses to work with him just because they don't want to deal with his fanbase.
The thing is, most artists have PR/comms that blacklist certain questions. Apparently the press orgs in Thailand are super unruly because they'll indiscriminately ask people about their sexuality in the rudest way without context or about fans that they can't control.
Apo isn't the only artist with unruly fans. Kpop has tons of abusive, volatile, unruly fans. So does Tayl0r Sw!ft and H@rry Sty1es, and they're never asked to answer for their fans' behavior, even when they specifically do things that will egg on the fans.
Yes and no, about who [brands] will choose to work with him. For Chinese companies, that's not necessarily a negative as long as these fans won't actively disrupt the project, promo, or sponsorships.
Let's not forget, Xiao Zhan's fans were actively so hostile and unruly, they got AO3 banned in China. NPR did a story on this, and most people in America don't know who he is. As a result, many fan clubs in China banned people who also were part of his fan club, and he was dropped by a number of sponsors including YSL. Xiao Zhan is very mild-mannered and has never encouraged this type of behavior, and he did have to apologize for his fans. But he still is working and still has a Gucci sponsorship. So that's that.
Brands know it's a high stakes game with these volatile fanbases. But the more the risk, the more likely these fans are motivated to put money behind their fandom too.
But honestly someone needs to do something about the Thai press and their sense of responsibility in talking to artists. So much of this is British-rag level gotcha reporting, and about nonsense. I'm not putting this one on BOC, Apo's problems with the press preceded Be On Cloud. It's just a shame that they've moved onto something else to harp on.
