I probably already wrote something about this but I will never stop talking about how badly written X-men Dark Phoenix is. If Dark Phoenix has zero haters, then I’m dead.
I absolutely despise how everyone in that movie villainizes him. Charles made a lot of mistakes, yes, especially when it comes to hiding what actually happened to Jean’s parents but it just seems so out of character from everyone to suddenly turn on him?
They blame him for Jean’s problems, for her not understanding herself, and it’s like no one takes a second to acknowledge that maybe Charles is just a guy trying to do his best. The worst part is, he’s always the one who’s giving—guiding, supporting, and protecting—but no one ever really checks on him. The people who should understand him the most (his students, his closest friends) seem to disregard him completely in this film. And it’s not like he’s some invincible figure who doesn’t need help; he’s clearly struggling, but no one seems to care. They just let him flounder, and that makes it feel like everyone’s turning their backs on the person who’s been there for them from the beginning. Charles was literally still mourning the death of his sister and Hank basically tells him how everyone should be afraid of him for the things he did.

In Dark Phoenix, Charles becomes a villain of sorts, but it feels like the movie’s creators didn’t know how to make this change feel earned. Instead of evolving his character in a believable way, they just throw him under the bus to make the stakes feel higher. The whole movie seems to forget the complexity of who Charles is and the positive impact he’s had on these characters. Rather than giving him a solid, well-deserved arc, the film turns him into someone who’s not only flawed, but also pretty unlikable. It’s a shame because, in the end, Charles is one of the most fascinating, multifaceted characters in the X-Men universe, and Dark Phoenix did him a major disservice by treating him so poorly.
And the worst part is, the movie doesn’t show anyone stepping up to help Charles. He’s not given the kind of emotional support that he has so often given to others. You’d think that after everything he’s done, someone would be there for him. But no. Instead, he’s left alone, isolated, and vulnerable, with no one offering him the same kind of empathy he’s given them for years. It feels like the movie forgets the essence of his character—the wise, compassionate leader—and replaces him with a broken, almost unrecognizable version of himself.
Anway, this movie is ass. Paris proposal was the only good thing about this movie. That, and Erik was slaying with that look of his

dark phoenix is honestly the worst X-Men movie bc "oh it's the final one to tie into the original trilogy" Jean dies in dp though so how does she come back? Same with Raven she dies yet she's alive a few years later in the og trilogy? And honestly it felt like a person who worked on it (idk if I need to blame a writer, director, producer, whoever) straight up has never consumed any sort of X-Men in their life and just did Google searches (no shame bc more info) yet somehow came out with a massive hate boner against Charles???? Like who worked on Dark Phoenix? Charles' own family? Like I swear Brian Xavier, Sharon Xavier, Kurt Marko, and Cain Marko were brought on to work on this film???
I even talked about this movie over the holidays with my dad (bc i asked for xmen movies that weren't dp or the wolverine trilogy) and he said Dark Phoenix is to explain how Jean got her powers. Which is cool and all but I need another movie to explain how we got from where were in Apocalypse to Dark Phoenix and another that explains how Raven and Jean are alive???
Like if I am to believe that Dark Phoenix happens a few years to a decade prior to X-1 then how does Dark Phoenix and The Last Stand depict two different origins on how Jean came to be with Xavier and whether Erik was with Charles or not??? How do Raven and Charles believe they're not longer siblings?
Raven literally says in X-2 thst her family tried to have her killed. To me that implies her entire family (specifically I think she mentions just her parents implying she's an only child) which could be what happened prior to meeting Charles but in the prequels Raven and Charles do have a sibling bond even if they disagree they have a sibling bond and yet that's gone by the 2000s?
Literally i would have been chill with Dark Phoenix if Raven and Jean didn't die. If Raven had lived she and Charles could have bickered more, Raven - unaware Erik had also been captured - tries to save her brother from going to the containment facility. As Jean dies perhaps the Phoenix force ends up re-writing history as Jean has studied under both Charles and Erik and wishes they were both there when getting her to go to Xavier's school. Giving Raven and Charles a more estranged relationship. In the end they all mourn Jean but we see Jean parallel Wanda at the end of WandaVision where she's living in a cabin in the forest trying to control her telepathy on her own. But at the very, very end, we see Jean walk up to Xavier's school returning home.

Notes: Post-relationship Sylus/MC-centric but poly LADs, with my personal pov of the game and lil headcanons littered in.

He's been relegated to picking up supplies. You'd thrust a list at him that morning, and he'd almost seen a tail behind you, flicking and curling like a question mark.
It isn't the first time you've had him wrapped around your finger, requesting his assistance. Normally you only ask when you're sick, desperate for supplies and he's available. (He'll always be available.)
Still, this time you've handed him a list for crafts, shoved him from his own base, and you peppered his face in kisses before he can even respond or argue. 
Not that he would, but he wishes you would at least come shopping with him. He's found himself enjoying the domesticity of you puttering around aisles while he pushes a trolley. If he takes his eyes off you, you'll steal the trolley and go skidding down an empty aisle.
Which is how he stands now, in the living room of his base, hands full of arts and crafts supplies, while he stares at a tree he doesn't remember buying.
It's twinkling with lights half done, but otherwise it bears no decoration. The twins are balancing on each other's shoulders trying to throw the multicoloured flashing lights up towards the top of it. You're there underneath, ready to catch them if them.
He's pretty sure someone's going to end up with a broken bone. (Which he does not want to explain to the doctor.)
With a flick of his finger, black and red swirling mist quickly remove lights from hands and twist them around the top of the tree. Gently, and carefully.
He's only slightly smug, smirk in full, when you turn to him in surprise. He's even more smug when your face instantly warms, eyes twinkling at him.
If he were really a crow, his feathers would poof up and he'd preen. Instead he wipes his hand on his shirt collar and extends the bags he's holding, "For you, kitten."
Your whirlwind of activity rushes over, the twins wobbling before they manage to detangle themselves, grabbing at the bag and pulling them to the floor. Separating things out.
He watches absently, but you're focused and tapping on your chin as you think, so he abandons you to your considerations to make himself useful. Warm drinks in hand before he returns to you.
Sylus finds you showing the twins how to fold and make ornaments with coloured paper. He hesitates at the door, if you had wanted ornaments, why did you not just ask for them? He could have ordered any number. Any colour. Anything you wanted.
He's again unsettled by a strange uncomfortable dissatisfaction, you do not make it easy to provide for you. To satisfy every desire. He wonders how you became someone who holds them so close to the chest, scared to want, all over again. He offers hot chocolate to the twins, and frothed coffee to you, (the smell never gets better), before sitting next to you on the floor, cross legged and curious.
You look over and grin, and for a second he sees ears tilting forwards in mischief, pupils blown and ready to pounce. "We didn't have a lot growing up, so me and Caleb would make ornaments for the tree with Gran. The twins wanted to try..." there's a question there that you want to ask but you can't quite... get the words out.
He can read you well enough to know the hesitation, and he leans in, voice low, fingers brushing your cheek, "Show me."
Sylus prides himself on learning, he's good at picking up skills, but he cannot be said to be creative. He is, however, good at following steps. He does, however, enjoy trying.
It's not a new skill that will be useful for anything other than moments like this, but truthfully if he only ever learned skills for moments like this, he'd be a happier fiend than he has any right to.
The twins decide to get pens and decorate the shapes he folds, while you sit nearby fretting over a new challenge. He finds himself looking over and peering but you catch him and point at his hands in an unspoken order. Focus.
He chuckles, only you would dare to order him about, and only you would gain his obedience as he follows your orders.
As they end up with a pile of... he's not sure he'd call anything he and the twins have made art, the fish would surely have something to say if he tried, he already dreads the upcoming conversation, but you're thrilled and excited as you come over to look. Picking up paper baubles and stars that the twins have drawn silly faces on.
There's a happy flush to Luke and Kieran's face as you wholeheartedly approve, and he swallows a lump in his throat that he doesn't really understand. Yet he wants to cry, he thinks, and he's not really sure why. Or what caused it.
He doesn't linger, doesn't have time, as you're pushing him towards the tree, "You get the top, Luke, middle, Kieran, bottom." Then you're running off.
He's starting to think the holidays are a little too much trouble... (Warm, vibrant, comforting.) That lilting voice that sounds like yours again.
Your soul is always so noisy, he muses, warmed and placated.
They're almost done when you come back, this time you're not as energetic. There's waves coming off you, nerves and anxiety rippling under skin. He pauses, where he's about to hang a star, and looks down  at you. As soon as he does you swallow, shoving a cardboard box into his arms.
Not a box? It has numbers on it?
"We-" you swallow past the nerves and push on. Ever ready to fight a monster. Even if the monster is yourself, "also used to make calendars for each other. It's late, so it's only twelve days." He catches your hand before it scratches at your arm, smoothing his thumb over your fingers and then rubbing circles into your palm. He blinks down at the thing, and sees today. He drops the star he's holding unceremoniously and presses the little cardboard flap open.
The calendar is decorated with a picture of a crow surrounded by presents. He remembers the fish encouraging your artistic pursuits, and while he's not sure if it's good, he never seems to be sure if it's good... he knows he likes it.
Inside is a hand wrapped chocolate and a small note.
Day one - A reminder that I love you, and appreciate you always, thank you Sylus.
You're still fidgeting, and at this point the twins have peeked their heads over to stare at his bounty. The longer he stares, the more he realises he has to speak, has to respond but his throat feels closed and his chest is so tight. It hurts. It hurts.
"If it's stupid you don't have to-"
He drops his calendar and he presses you into his chest. He's sure if he were better practiced in his emotions he'd cry. Instead he just encompasses you in his body, squeezing and holding and drowning in you. He nips at your cheek, hand squeezing your face, he wants to bite and chew and claw and scratch.
He can't understand and he doesn't want to hurt, but he breathes you in. Relieved he has no tail to betray him, wagging furiously. You're giggling at his reaction, trying to pull away from his rough handling, calling his name out like knives in his heart, and he finally kisses you. Over and over and over. Tasting his name on your lips and your love in his heart.
Then he startles, pulling away quickly to see that thankfully the twins had caught his gift, the note and the chocolate. Placing it on the side. They're giving him a look like he's a fool, he might be, because he has an evol that can move things for him. Instead his foolish body betrayed him.
"Hunter! Do we get one?" Luke calls, pouting, and you keep a hold on Sylus' hand. Grounding him as he looks at your note over and over, pressing your thumb into his wrist, and smoothing his rapid uneven heartbeat there.
Still you extend a makeshift calendar to the twins, one each, identical except for the names. He can tell that you'd been careful to match every line. "Of course."
He absently notes that you've left four more on the side. The fish, the doctor, the prince and an untouched one for your family. The note is finally placed in his pocket, right over his heart, where he knows he'll keep it until it's worn and unreadable. Not that it matters, because he'll remember it always.
As you watch him smooth his fingers over it, you laugh, "You know there's eleven more days of those right?" Your nerves are still simmering, he can tell, but you're thrilled for his reaction and eased with his earnestness and joy. He lets your words settle and then darts to the calendar on the side, he hears the twins opening theirs but barely cares.
You panic when you realise he's going to just tear the thing open for more of your feelings recorded in pretty stationary paper, before you throw yourself at his back, "Sylus! No! They're for other days!"

the thing that’s so wild to me with comic charles is that he’s literally just as slim and small as the females in the comics LIKE THAT WAS A CONSCIOUS DECISION HE HAS THE SAME BODY TYPE AS EMMA FROST.
everyones so mean to him and he's literally only three apples tall..........

My third (and totally not delayed) magazine cover, featuring Xavier! I got stuck for a while because I had different ideas/vibes I wanted to do, but couldn’t figure out how to execute them so I just did… nothing.
But I think this turned out cute! Every time I make one of these I end up liking it more than the last, haha.
Last but definitely not least will be Sylus! 🐦‍⬛ ❤️

as annoying as raven is and as much as i want to stab her 24/7 i see SO much raven slander and while i genuinely agree with most of it, i want to talk about why i feel like y'all over hate on her (specifically her in first class)
now warning, this is going to be very long, and this is nowhere near an accurate character study but just how i personally view it so that’s just me. pls no hate thank you :)
so she meets this boy when she’s a kid - charles - and thinks, wow, there’s finally someone out there like me. i’m not alone, i don’t have to be alone. he gave raven the same sort of reassurance that he gave erik and while this is, in no means, supposed to be hating on charles, ultimately, raven was right in the sense that as much as he wanted mutant equality and as much as he just wanted safety for his sister, he, whether or not he meant to do it intentionally (which i don’t believe he did) fed into her insecurities by telling raven to basically hide herself.
and yes, i get why he did that, and yes, she should’ve spoken up on how she felt, but if the one person who was supposed to get you and understand you and unconditionally love you when no one else did was suddenly treating you the exact same as everyone else would have treated you, forcing you to hide, you would feel a tad bit angry at yourself, the world and that person, wouldn’t you? reminder that when she asked him if he’d date her if they didn’t know each other he said yes of course before realizing she meant in her blue form and then he just went uh well i do know you that’s the thing so it’ll be weird. like um wow okay. hypocrite.
so, now, as much as she hates it, raven has it in her mind, i wish i didn’t look like this, i shouldn’t look like this, i feel ugly, i hate myself which quite honestly made for a more relatable and genuine main character inner monolouge instead of charles’ i want world peace, but either way i’m confident in myself or erik’s i want humans to die, but either way i’m confident in myself. all raven really wanted for herself was to feel confident and a lot of that turned into a need for validation which we’ll get into later.
(random but the part where charles is like put some clothes on raven girlie thats ur brother he doesnt wanna see u naked but moving on)
then, enter hank. someone who gets it. someone who visibly looks weird although let’s be honest, weird feet compared to being blue? it’s literally nothing but whatever. he understands her, she understands him and right now she doesn’t want to be blue and he doesn't want weird feet. she finally feels understood, in a way she believes charles could never understand her.
and then erik comes along. he’s all for pro mutants, be confident in yourself, mutant and proud, and she’s never seen someone like that. her immediate attraction to him is because of his overwhelming sense of security in his power that she’s never had. he tells her she’s fine the way she is and while, similar to charles, erik’s power isn’t “visible” so he can’t really be talking, she’s not even considering that just because she’s just so in shock that someone could actually not only accept her in her natural form, but embrace her.
she no longer wants the cure because she believes someone truly cares about her. she no longer believes that she needs to be insecure. all the things she hated about herself, she learned to love. and it’s really sad because as i said before, she thrives off of validiation, which she’s never truly received - until now. one person validates her and she feels like her life is complete. that’s sad. but ultimately, she feels more secure in herself now.
and then hank again. she wants him to see himself how she now sees herself. but he doesn’t and basically calls her ugly except it’s not even basically cause he straight up says you’re not beautifull and i know he didn’t mean it like that but bruh that was neither demure nor mindful.
and then she goes to talk to charles thinking alright so maybe hank doesn’t agree with me, neither does charles, but charles is my brother, he loves me. he’ll understand. but the thing is, he doesn’t say anything to insinuate to raven that he does understand. he straight up says something along the lines of i thought hank found a cure for you. which i personally thought charles understood what raven was going through, sure he didn’t have a visible mutation, but he was still a mutant, so while i do believe he was understanding, i think he didn’t show it very well.
now, the one thing raven did that i can’t defend, is the beach. leaving charles. while i know that she did want to go with erik, i don’t think she would’ve left if charles didn’t tell her too and at that point raven probably thought charles didn’t even want her around and that kind of would’ve confirmed it. still, that’s not right, that’s your brother, your only friend, you don’t know if he’s gonna survive. i get why she would’ve left, also because she was angry, but that wasn’t right.
ultimately, she was just an insecure girl, who quite honestly, didn’t know what she wanted and felt alone in the world and while she wasn’t the only one, and was extremely annoying about it, especially since she refused to see the other side of things and focused mainly on herself, i can’t really blame her, and i don’t think she deserves all the hate she gets.

ive been posting a lot of lads recently bc caleb has made me so excited to play the game and ive been thinking a lot not just of him but of the other guys too. this time isnt that long i think, i just have Thoughts abt xavier and caleb and cant sleep.
i think xav and caleb are the same flavor of possessive and protective, and the biggest thing that makes them so different is their age.
(ngl, i dont know as much abt xav as i do abt sy and caleb so my idea of him may be slightly off.)
i think, because xav has lived so long and he has actually experienced losing mc unlike caleb who only fears losing her, he has matured and become a lot more patient and calculating. its sort of like the difference between dating a silver fox vs a teen boy, yknow?
xav knows he needs to make mc want to be with him, THAT is the most important thing that will make everything else easier. like the build up to the n109 zone. xav knew that if he tried to stop mc or lock her away, she would simply find another way. she might find someone else to help her, or at worst shell try to go with no help. so xav helps her, trying to protect her as much as he can AND (this is important) solidifying an impression in mc that he is a "dependable partner" that she can trust and go to for help.
meanwhile, caleb is so obsessed with keeping mc away from danger that hes missing the bigger picture. he thinks, "ill protect her now and shell thank me later" and then is confused/frustrated when it doesnt work as well.
caleb wants control, but doesnt know how to get it other than just taking it or expecting it from mc. his attempts at gaslighting are clumsy and obvious and dont really work anymore. meanwhile, xav understands how to be sweet and soft and let mc feel like shes in control, when hes actually the one in control. (look back at a lot of the story or interactions, most of the time xav is actually getting his way even as hes being an obedient puppy)
its really fascinating to me because i feel like caleb is the character that actually follows thru on all the yandere/possessive hints weve gotten of xav, while xav also feels like what caleb COULD be, if he had more time and was less constantly stressed out.
xav HAS what caleb WANTS. xav lives near mc. xav is mcs partner. mc would probably play along if xav decided to play at some confinement play because mcs guard is so down when it comes to him. and mc DEPENDS on him, the way that caleb wants her to depend on him.
but caleb also has some things that xav probably wants, too. caleb, even after everything, has a strong bond with mc. caleb knows everything about mc. caleb got to be right by mcs side all these years. mc REMEMBERS caleb and loves him (even if you think that love is of siblings or childhood friends, that bond is there). and, caleb is free to be as possessive and protective as he wants while scaring mc, because (canon-wise at least) he knows mc will never really reject him.
xav is the future that caleb wanted for him and mc; caleb has the past that xav probably wouldve liked to have with mc.
i feel like if they ever meet, theyre the LIs that would hate each other on sight.
