l'aiha's relationship with x'rhun tia is so fun to me because l'aiha's mother, who she did not remember throughout training under x'rhun, was herself a former crimson duelist who fled gyr abania with her surviving family after the mad king had her clan wiped out for "fear of an uprising".

so j'nako and x'rhun had worked together and were close friends, and after j'nako disappeared so suddenly—basically overnight—x'rhun assumed, upon finding the massacred clan's home ransacked, that j'nako, her father, and her few remaining sisters had all perished too.

over thirty years later, l'aiha is brought to x'rhun by alisaie. having just lost necessary abilities that made it impossible for her to continue being an arcanist, she began training under x'rhun as a red mage. the pair developed a very close bond, nearly father-daughter in some elements, and of course l'aiha reminds x'rhun of j'nako in many ways. she's similarly fierce, excellent with a rapier—she's especially good at the melee portion, just like j'nako was. and she even looks similar in a couple fleeting ways, though also too different for x'rhun to ever imagine she might be his (believed to be) dead friend's daughter.

at present (7.1), l'aiha still doesn't know j'nako and x'rhun knew each other. she hasn't spoken with her mother beyond a brief reunion that went poorly, so l'aiha doesn't even know she's a crimson duelist. i'm looking forward to this revelation whenever i find a good point to add it! :)

I was just thinking of X'rhun and Kemakka because they are face 2 miqos then the wheels started turning... Listen, all I know is I did not consider this until yesterday.
