placing his faith and trust in her stated promise which he would mutually feel obligated to do the same by ' taking care of her ' this evening. apprehensive when it came to her pointing out that kissing her now or more would certainly draw all eyes on them giving the guests a show. wyatt wasn't the type of did well in the centre of attention as he would go out of his way to avoid it preferring the peace and safety of a quiet mild life which hardly had any excitement to it. wyatt didn't want to be rude though or even tough to work with as he trusted his instincts to give her suggestions a shot and would only protest if they were to cross that line to be sexually intimate with her in public although he wasn't expecting it as he respected her as a co-worker. he would respond to her quietly. surprised by the revelation when she admitted that she had dated men his age before causing him to look baffled. " whoah. really? i mean i am shocked but - - wow. i had no idea, i am sorry. " he nervously fumbled over his words yet he didn't judge her if she had a refined taste for older men like him as it did seem to ease his guilt for having used her as his date. unable to answer her after she had thanked him again when his mouth met her lips. the kiss was deep and rather serene having become lost into it however he couldn't help but feel the need to break off the kiss thinking perhaps it was enough to make his ex jealous. turning his neck he looked over at his ex who was scowling in annoyance at them both with balled fists. wyatt then shifted his attention back to dove as the mission had been a success. when eased and assured that apology was not necessary due to him overthinking that the kiss had gone for too long he felt a swell of ease and comfort. " oh? i mean i liked it too. " he swallowed the lump in the back of his throat only to then turn his neck and glance over at his ex who was walking towards them. " um maybe we should continue this elsewhere cause right now she's speeding towards us like a torpedo and she's pissed. " withdrawing his hands away from her lower back when his hand then reached for hers taking her hand in his as he held it down by his side.

" i hope you're happy with what you two have done. treating this party like it's a whorehouse. you've made me very unhappy and i hope you're proud of yourself for embarrassing me." regina directed her vitriolic anger primarily at wyatt yet her eyes shifted towards dove. " i had to tell my date to leave because he was eyeing you like he wanted to fuck you! so thank you for ruining my relationship." the ex opened her mouth standing enraged before them with scornful eyes her voice was stern and loud and some of the guests could hear her as they stared at her looking uncomfortable and puzzled. " by the way she's way out of your league. because no one in their right mind will ever love a dumb, soft, stupid boring hick like you. " her mood shifted into condescending as she giggled and turned around only to then knock into the waiter's tray by accident. drinks would spill onto the front of her dress staining it and ruining her hair. " oh my god. " she exclaimed as one of the guests laughed at the woman's misfortune. she shook her hands looking distraught as she then began to cry and proceeded to storm out as she felt humiliated and embarrassed.

maybe she should have eased him into it. though it wasn't like she had, had time to plan. dove knew that he was nervous and he wanted the night to go well. that was why she had even been willing to do it. plus she knew that it was going to fun to see how people reacted. she hadn't exactly missed the looks that they had gotten when they had walked in together. she had clearly chosen the right dress and it helped that elijah was good looking. plus she knew that she always tended to attract attention. a small laugh fell from her at his words," i promise that i will take care of you tonight." she hoped that he believed her but she didn't know if he would. of course she wouldn't help but laugh at his words," we can give them a show but i promise that i would get you in trouble."

everything that she was doing was to make a show of how comfortable they were with each other. all she did was shrug since she could see where he was coming from," i have dated men your age before." she didn't really date that much any more considering her job. a lot of men didn't like it and she was done letting that get in her way. that was why she was fine with playing arm candy for elijah. she had no idea where it would lead but she wasn't against finding out. already she knew that he was going to want to repay her for the favor. though she wasn't that worried about it herself," thank you, again." she didn't think twice about pulling him into a kiss. though it seemed it was her turn to be surprised. he seemed to sink right into it and she gasped. though eagerly her lips meshed with his as she found herself pressing right up against him. she was nearly breathless by the time that the kiss broke and she didn't go to back up. a few people were staring at them but she was focused on him," why are you saying sorry?" that was not what she was imagining and she took a deep breath," elijah," she breathed," i liked it." maybe she shouldn't have said that but she was being honest. her hands ran along his chest," i think you should do it again," she breathed," unless you didn't enjoy it?"

Staring at Wyatt as he held up the bright green denim jacket with his number 53 boldly painted on the back, you shook your head adamantly.

“Babe please? I asked Sarah if she could get one done for you too, even though you told all the girls no.”

He pouted his lips as he pushed the jacket in your direction, but you crossed your arms over your chest. Not giving in that easy.

“Wy, we have been through this. You know I like us keeping things more private. The second I wear this jacket that’s thrown out the window.”

Setting the jacket down on the kitchen island, he took a step towards you and reached for your hands. “Babe…I get it. Believe me I do. It’s a whole lot easier keeping things private. Seeing the smile on his face you were like putty in his hands. He always knew how to play you like a fiddle and get his way, one of the things you loved to hate about Wyatt.

Wyatt gave himself a fist bump as you grabbed the jacket off the counter, retreating to your bedroom to put it on. Making him wait impatiently as you wanted the first look at the jacket on.

Staring in the mirror a blush came over your cheeks as you couldn’t help but smile. Seeing the Johnston name above the pocket, paired with the mirroring Texas Hockey on the other side. And of course the largely printed 53 on the back. Despite your want for a private relationship, you couldn’t help but feel proud to wear Wyatt’s number. To support your boyfriend on the biggest stage of his sport. Letting everyone know that you were his, and he was yours.

“Babeeeee come on! We are gonna be late.”

Wyatt whined from the kitchen as you spritzed on a bit of perfume, completing your outfit as you slowly walked down the hall to rejoin him.

He pulled you into his chest by the belt loops of your jeans, his lips on yours before he lightly bit down, teasing you as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

Potential AU - Donna didn't join the campaign, but instead Josh meets her in WI.

I know you sent me this ages ago (I'm sorry!) and I've been sitting on it for FOREVER trying to figure out what to do with it. So I'm wrapping it into the AU game because I know it will end up a sweeping epic AU I'll never finish if I don't do it this way:

Josh first meets Donna on the UW Madison campus. Abbey is part of a panel of med students, doctors, and political activists discussing reproductive rights. He thinks she's a med student at first, and she clarifies as she does in ITSOTG for him. (He meets Dr. Freeride on the way out. He doesn't get Donna's information.)

Josh thinks about her sometimes (okay, a lot) -- Sam never stops giving him shit over how he's comparing every woman he meets to Donna from Wisconsin. Every rally they have in Wisconsin, every stop, he's always on the lookout. He doesn't run into her before election day, or for the next four years.

He does, however, run into her around re-election. She's just about to finish law school at Georgetown, and she's working for Andy Wyatt's office. Andy brings Donna to Debate Camp and Josh, newly broken up with Amy, having just heard Toby and Andy are having twins, and recently reunited with a woman he's pined for literally for years, is Going Through It.

Josh and Donna flirt during the transition -- Josh is released by Leo and Bartlet on Christmas Eve and he calls Donna up to see if she wants to meet him at the Hawk n' Dove (Yes, he's aware it's snowing, she's from Wisconsin). They really get to know each other on a deeper level on this night. There is no Jack Reese, at least not in a dating Donna capacity.

They finally get together on inauguration night. (She's only going to one of the balls, but that's all he needs to finally, finally pull his head out of his ass.)

Bird Cage Theatre - Tombstone, Arizona, United States

Old West theater, gambling hall, saloon, and brothel in Tombstone, Arizona, haunted by numerous ghosts.

History

The Bird Cage Theatre achieved fame and notoriety in the 1880s as the roughest, wildest honky-tonk in the West. It was open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In its eight short years of business, 20 gunfights and 26 murders took place there. Some of the most famous personalities of the Wild West were frequent visitors, among them Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and Bat Masterson. The Bird Cage was especially famous for its prostitutes, the "soiled doves" and "tainted angels" who entertained men in "cribs" or "cages" —alcoves on the second floor over the main hall. Men paid 20 to 25 dollars for the company of one of the girls. While the entertaining went on in the cribs, exotic dancers took the stage to music played by a live orchestra.

Supposedly, a card game lasted the entire history of the hall—eight years, five months, and three days. Doc Holliday especially liked to play Faro, a popular game in the 19th century. The combination of liquor, gambling, and women was combustible, leading to the gunfights that left 140 bullet holes in the hall and untold bullet holes in victims. The unlucky ones were collected by hearse and carted up to Boot Hill for burial. One of the unfortunate dead was Morgan Earp, brother of Wyatt. Morgan was killed on a pool table that still bears his bloodstains.

The Bird Cage closed in 1889. It is now a museum, in near original condition. Tombstone is much the same as it was in the late 19th century and is a popular tourist draw.

Haunting Activity

Footsteps have been heard on the stairs to the basement where the gambling took place. Poltergeist and ghostly phenomena include lights going on and off, sensations of presences, and problems with cameras and other equipment. Phantom smells of tobacco and whiskey can suddenly permeate the air, and the sounds of shouting, laughter, and gambling are heard. Sounds emanate from the empty cribs on the second floor. The parlor where the long game went on—and where the higher-priced women entertained men in side rooms—is one of the most active areas of the theater.

Apparitions of people dressed in late-19th-century clothing are seen, especially a man wearing a black visor who walks across the stage.

once you see a read more line- cw for assault and human trafficking. dead dove do not eat. wyatt is about 23 during all of this, it’s the summer after he finishes college. wyatt pinterest board.

• has a huge fight with ev that comes to “you are NOT my dad” blows and just. bolts. runs and hides from conflict like he has since he was little. just takes it a step farther this time.

• the most heartbreaking part of it all for me at least is that he got *so* close to the bucks. when he gets in this guy’s car and everything goes south he’s all of 15 minutes away from their house.

• after everything it took to get to wyoming from new york he just wanted to get to his uncles and micah, have a little breakdown about how he’s pretty sure his parents hate him after that big fight with ev and then go from there.

• but he’s so tired of walking and it’s getting dark and he’s a little lost. and this guy is super nice when he pulls over to ask if he needs a ride somewhere. so wyatt doesn’t see any reason to turn him down.

• when they’ve been in the car for about ten minutes that’s when how nice he seems starts to really creep wyatt out. guy is making comments on his appearance, asking personal questions and just making him really uncomfortable.

• wyatt fishes around to get his phone out of his pocket but that’s when the guy pulls over and he gets that real bad ‘something is terribly wrong’ gut feeling and. freezes. has been a freeze response guy since he was little. since his early memories of helen’s abusive partner between nash and ev.

• the guy does. some stuff to him in the car and when that’s over makes wyatt give him his phone.

• drives him to what is *not* the bucks’ house. tells him he seems like a troubled kid, might be better off here then whenever you were going.

• and everything is *screaming* in him to turn tail and run but he’s so scared and still in freeze mode even though his body is moving just. tells himself to go along with it for now and he can figure out getting out of there in the morning or something.

• but then it turns into weeks of people in and out of this guys house and wyatt just tellin himself to go along with it for now and figure something out in the morning.

• out of that house back at home in new york and down the road at the bucks’ everyone is. distraught. ev and helen thought when he bolted outta the house he was just gonna drive around for a few hours and come back but he was just. gone.

• sawyer has an incredibly hard time too. struggles with emotional regulation and changes in routine/structure as his and his big brother being gone makes all that 100x worse. sleeps in ev and helen’s room more than even the younger kids do. cries himself to sleep in there telling them he wants his brother back <\3

• this is alluded to in my recent josie naomi blurb but josie also has a hard time because micah obv loses it. and seeing her baby brother like that and not being able to fix it really eats at her.

• micah ends up taking some time off from school (he’s younger than wyatt and still in college) and when he has the little breakdown that triggers that he calls his sister before their dads.

• then the weeks in that house turn into months and wyatt is doing worse by the day but. also kinda starts to resign himself for this situation. has very little window to the outside so it’s easy for him to be convinced that his family stopped looking for him even though that is incredibly far from the truth.

• thinks being in this situation must be punishment for something- for being a bad son- for being bad.

• and if that’s his cross to carry so be it.

• the thing that triggers him getting out of there is- disgustingly someone bucky knows and tells about the situation with their friends missing kid realizing the kid in question is at a certain house he frequents.

• piece of shit doesn’t do the actual right thing by going right to the police or anything like that. but next time he’s at the house he gets a real good look at wyatt and is like. god damn this kid is in bad shape. he doesn’t want to be here. shit.

• still a horrible horrible person but. when hes alone with wyatt outright asks if he wants to be there.

• wyatt just looks at him all wide eyed and doesn’t really say anything. but the guy tells him he’s gonna figure something out so he can get out of here, just trust him. when i say jump you gotta jump kid, yeah?

• goes about it so fucking recklessly though. just outright tells the guy that took wyatt that the people looking for him are closer than he thinks- he should let him leave, gonna be more trouble than it’s worth to keep him here till they find him etc etc.

• but this guy isn’t new to this business either so he’s like yeah alright thx. got it. and just starts making plans to leave wyoming with him and go elsewhere.

• which his buddy gets wind of and feels sick about because god damnit i told that kid i was gonna help him get out of here and now that’s. not happening.

• which like before does 0 to actually help the situation (dude call the fucking cops) because the guy just lashes out again. gets into a huge fight with his buddy asking if he’s a fucking narc, you sure haven’t bitched about a damn thing till now you think i wouldn’t bring you down with me? etc etc.

• but as terrible as he is he is starting to panic about everything. has a you want that kid out of misery, fine moment- goes full break glass in case of emergency mode and sets the house on fire with him in there. (hence those pics on the pinterest board)

• the fight with his buddy was at like 10pm so this is all happening in the middle of the night. wyatt was /asleep/ and wakes up to a burning house he’s been trapped in.

• but sheer force of will to live, he gets out of there and just starts running. much later down the line no one really understands how he managed to make it to the bucks in the dark not knowing where he was going and as severely hurt in various ways as he was.

• he does get there though- just about collapsing on their front porch- but there at long last where he’s safe.
