ok it's been four days since I first read the op fairytale/prophecy/history lesson and I've spent all of them thinking about it and reading theories about it this is how I'm understanding it right now

I don't know how literal this is going to be (depends on whether the first world really was our modern world or not) but I'm reasonably sure at least the inspiration for this bit is a nuclear war or at least the nuclear fission, since for obvious reasons that's a point of inspiration for end of the world scenarios in japanese media pretty often

A reference to the first instance of Nika's awakening, obviously, though I have no clue who the god of the earth might be still (maybe imu? But it's more thematic than with any actual evidence so who knows). Might also be just a general reference to the end of the first world/a form of terraforming, since in the second part the same wording is used to refer to the sea levels rising

Absolutely zero clue I'll be honest with you all. I have a sinking feeling this might be somewhat tied to the serpent up in skypiea since there's references to that arc in the mural right under, but I haven't read skypiea in too long to be sure of the hows and whys (might just go look it up tbh)

Breath upon the emptiness obv refers to the birth of new life after the end of the first world. Someone on here mentioned the forest god/demons as a reference to the creation of the devil fruits and I absolutely believe it. The sun spreading war is another obvious reference - joyboy

Half-moon people -> people with the D

Moon people -> I'm thinking lunarians

Since they're called moon and half moon I wonder if the D people are descendants or anyway somehow related to lunarians btw. I mentioned in another post that I'm starting to believe some people of the first world actually built Enel's ark and reached the moon to escape from the destruction of the first world, and that lunarians might just be direct descendants of the original people of earth - it's obviously just speculation, but the ark in the sky in the first part of the mural does look like Enel's.

Also going on a little tangent but at first I thought the second ark in the bottom left of the first page was ALSO a reference to Enels, but now I'm thinking it's a reference to Noah's ship from fishermen island (there's the animals in pairs by it and all too). Noah's ship is supposed to have been built during the void century so now I'm wondering whether the one on the mural is literally the one we see in the story and that part of the mural is just referring to the second world, or if like Enel with his own ark the fishermen of the void century had stories about the original ark and rebuilt it to save life from the flooding (then again, why would fishermen need an ark to be saved from the flooding? I've had a suspicion that they evolved into fishermen after or during the void century for a while now and that's why they have history that they used to live on land tbh, this might just give me a little more to add on that theory)

Btw, I remember long ago thinking that maybe the D only served to identify the descendants of the people original to laugh tale, and that was why they were the celestial dragons natual enemies since they were at war with them. I wonder how that ties in all of this if they really are relatives of the lunarians somehow

Anyway, back on track

The celestial dragons killed joyboy and ascended to mariejois, pretty direct. Worth remembering that to ascend to meriejois aside from killing joyboy they also had to pretty much exterminate the lunarians, who lived there before them. War on the D (half moon) people in laugh tale, war on the lunarians (moon) on mariejois

Reference to the sea levels rising. Starting to think the god of the sea is pretty directly and simply poseidon (the ancient weapon who is now shirahoshi, I mean)

The world government erased every mention of the war with joyboy from history and created the void century, pretty direct

In the official translations the "fragmented moon" is simply translated as half-moon so this is probably a reference to the D people and how they still fight against the world government whether consciously or by fate (about how the D people always bring chaos and change, I'm thinking that's what it might mean when it says "hear the voice of the half moon" -> something in them tells them to spread chaos, which is kinda funny ngl)

The second part is literally just Luffy and how he's gonna cause the third end and rebirth of the world, as every nika has done before him (I mentioned so already somewhere else but I believe madame shirley's prediction about luffy destroying fishermen island falls somewhere around here too)

If ANYONE has any clue what "they will never meet again" -> "they will surely meet again" is referring to please let me know it's driving me NUTS who are we talking about here !!!

EDIT: okay I just now read someone mention this last point might be talking abou the four seas and you know what!!! I might just believe it!!!

just finished www #23: on your way, and i have many thoughts. all of them make me want to cry.

ame knowing as soon as she got back to the cottage that her actions had burned a bridge, not just with the citadel but with one of her best friends, and yet still needing to complete her tasks as the witch of the world's heart. the spirits she awakens so as not to leave the cottage untended or unprotected, and the way she asks and does not take. the note she leaves, should her friends make it there.

eursulon in the fire, followed by the man in black, who is a brother in the way all spirits are brethren, but not the sibling eursulon seeks. leaving through the burrow, fighting monstrosities, and seeing the citadel raze cities to ruin beside a jungle of rot. finding the tree. his tree. the tree that is emblazoned on his shield, his coat of arms, what he fights to protect. and inside... his sister. a family she made for herself.

and suvi. hurt but still afraid that ame will die if she stays. determined to not let that happen. conversations with steel where she says that another wizard said that the wizard sly lied, or did not tell the full truth. commiseration, but suvi holds back the full truth, and suspects steel of doing the same. an airship to fly north. to protect ame, yes. but the mage armor mean that no creature or spirit or witch will ever be able to touch her again. broken trust, if not broken love.

and through it all, the thread that the citadel represents a threat to the world's heart itself, and to all spirits beyond. the council of elders wishes to neutralize that threat. grandmother wren did not.

questions moving forward: what is the true purpose of the war on gaothmai being waged by the empire? why does kalaya's family look like suvi? is suvi going to have a villain arc? i have my theories, but i'll get into those in other posts.

thank you to the worlds beyond number cast and crew for giving us this incredible story. i'm so excited to see where you take us next.

(Twin Comets Kingdom is relatively smaller compared to other kingdoms) (Known for its “Starry Plateau” which seems to be something SEEDs are attracted to(?))

(Starry Plateau has a significant cultural heritage)

(Home to the Wishing Sanctum) (Abnormally attracts SEEDs and they seem insistent on destroying/contaminating the Sanctum)

(While the SEEDs attack the Wishing Sanctum, SEEDs seem barely interested in the Twin Comets Kingdom(?))

(Both the Little Stars Kingdom and Twin Comets Kingdom have close ties with each other) (The Twin Comets Kingdom has requested aid in defending the sacred Temple)

(I like to think the Wishing Sanctum hasn’t been open in a while but is believed to contain a way to permanently rid of SEEDs) (Not like a total wipe-out, but more like a spell or weapon that is effective against SEEDs(?))

(I wanted the SEEDs exclusively attack during the nighttime, but that doesn’t make logical sense even if we don’t know much about them(?))

(Maybe the Wishing Sanctum is open during the night(?))

The “Wishing Sanctum” carries a rare and essential ingredient essential to creating a “wish.” It can only be accessed by the Magical Twin Comets and their Knights of Fragaria. The essential ingredient is currently dubbed “Dream Sap” and is a one-of-a-kind item that can only be made within the Wishing Sanctum.

(Descending down a fleet of stairs, you’re met with a fountain hung upside down) (There is no water, but a single drop that dribbles into a bowl on a pedestal) (It could be akin to a bird bath) (There are signs of overgrowth, and the stone looks old and a bit cracked—but not significant to be concerning)

If it were to be written the story would have to abide by a few rules: SEEDs don’t only feed off from negative emotions but also “magic.” Because the “Wishing Sanctum” is abundant with magic and creates the Dream Sap, it attracts SEEDs.

Another rule is that “magic” isn’t always naturally abundant in this world. (<— Unless we’re doing world-building about the local flora or animal populations or something similar) (But for the sake of the story, it’ll be abided by these two rules)

SEEDs are attracted towards “magic” and negativity—and magic isn’t something that is truly innate within the world of Fragaria.

(if you want my tangent version of ideas [that will likely not make sense], i like the idea of “positive” and “negative” energies if that makes sense????) (the idea is that because the wishing sanctum brims with “positive energy” it is a natural attraction to SEEDs that want to stain it with their negativities) (“magic” or “positive energy” the idea still applies but with a different philosophy) (if SEEDs seem to consume negativity, then positivity must exist right?) (i like the idea that one of the ingredients in creating a wish is common grass or even weeds) (it’s something so ordinary, how can it be an essential ingredient for a wish?) (i might sound crazy but i like to think that maybe fragaria memories is just an environmental allegory and SEEDs represent GMOs) (if i talk about it more ill just get into other ideas that aren’t even canon and just me rambling about what the world of fragaria could be)

Collie is more quiet, but not exactly reserved and friendly to talk to. Luli is more energetic. (I like to think they're both air-headed in their own ways(?)) (Two people who get easily distracted and impressed)

Something like: Luli: "LOOK! A BIRD!" (Collie: "Woah.")

Louterstella: "You know I was just talking to you, right?"

If the other causes trouble, the other will follow suit.

Luli: "I have MY LORD AND WITCHCRAFT AT MY SIDE!"

(But I imagine they're quite reliable as knights rather than themselves(?)) (The type where you look away for a second and suddenly there's an A plot and a B plot) (yeah so they share a single brain cell with each is what I'm saying) (I should probably give them more defining traits...)

(Both wear a uniform reminiscent of the coats Louterstella and Klarkstella wear but in black) (Collie wears a purple tie with a star clip attached to it) (Luli dons pink star-shaped sunglasses and has her shirt untucked and unbuttoned) (Collie has his shirt fully buttoned up and looks more formal)

(I like to think Luli is the more responsible one compared to Collie) (But they are dependable in their own way) (I like to think Collie is the type to pause and reorganize multiple times just to make it appear "right") (the urge to organize... i understand it well...!)

(I think they're susceptible to the "LOOK! OVER THERE!")

the april's fools event is a masterpiece. i laughed so hard seeing the pv and reading the story because it's such a shoujo cliche but i love it? silly and simple highschool shoujo romance can be the cutest thing sometimes <3
