I feel like Sam Reich has been in an eternal audition for the host of NPR's wait wait don't tell me, and honestly I hope he gets the role.

I need new podcasts!
Hey friends! I work a job that allows me to have headphones in pretty much all day and I've noticed that what I choose to listen to can greatly affect my day.
When I'm at work, I need something funny and engaging and around an hour long (maybe more, but no less than 40 minutes please!). I'm currently up to date with TAZ, MBMBAM, WWDTM, and WTNV (which I love but is absolutely not practical for my job since its only 20 minutes so I need to stop and switch episodes pretty often.)
So I'm looking for something in that vein. I love Ologies, the IASIP podcast, Sawbones, Planet Money, Hidden Brain, Radiolab, and Parks and Recollection, too, but I use those as evening podcasts for falling asleep. I'm looking for something with more energy that may be more game oriented to keep me entertained while I aimlessly wander and put away books.
(Also no true crime please!)
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Anthony Fauci
@wwdtm
I listened to your Saturday 3 August show with Anthony Fauci. He was funny. Genuinely funny. Great timing and wit. He seems the sweetest most sincere human being ever. So, I have a question, why did you let him lose?
I've seen y'all give three hints to your guests! How do you decide who you're going to bend over backwards to get a guest to the right answer and who you don't? I was appalled.

I’ve started responding out loud to intrusive thoughts by saying “well if any of that happens we’ll ask you about it right here on wait wait don’t tell me” and honestly it snaps me out of it

Hey Sam, thanks so much for the tip about how much easier it is to get WWDTM tickets now! I went once years ago after my sister managed to snag tickets right as the queue opened and it was A BIG DEAL. Fast forward a few years, and I had such a good time at a show I bought tickets for spontaneously. Sometimes change doesn’t suck!
Aw yeah that's awesome! It's still a little difficult to get tickets to some shows, but at least you don't have to show up early and sit on the floor and then stand in line for like two hours. What a fucking feat of endurance. And I really like the new venue, it's still close to me (walkable!) and it's a more comfortable setup, I feel.
Love that they kept that dumb little light up disco ball thing, though. It wouldn't be WWDTM without it.

When you’ve made it as a question on NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”, you know it’s news! 🤣

Peter Segal: Now it’s time for our listener lymric challenge! Bill, you may begin
Bill Curtis, elegantly:
“Now that September is over,
The rest of us are hardly sober,
The memes are undead,
As the Skeletons said,
‘Now it’s time for ___’”
The guest: Spooktober?
Peter, now a skeleton: *Rattles loudly and excitedly* YES! That is correct!

Peter Sagal: This is only offered to women 30 or older, because apparently in China, 30 is the age where being single is technically considered an emergency.
Bim Adewumni: I mean, they're not wrong. I've been clinically dead for 6 years. [...] But also, men over 30 are terrible, so...
