Harry would be okay.

He constantly coughed into the towel that he left side-stage to stop his germs from spreading to any of the people below, though he supposed the bragging rights of 'I caught tonsillitis from Harry Styles' would be a badge of honour for some of the more…dedicated fans. It also helped to hide his pained grimace as it practically tore his throat in half. It was a horrible ache to match the one in his lungs and his head and his back and his feet and his everything.

But Harry would be okay.

harry told rolling stone that he "came off, got in the car, and just started crying" after wwa's first wembley show because he had tonsillitis. if only someone wrote a fic about that

This is just by going off what I think are the shows I couldnt stop talking about for days after they happened. So one is wwa san siro and the other tstlot belfast n2. BUT honourable mention to hslot18 manchester as well cause it was my first time going to a show on my own and i had the best time

LOT Wembley Night 2 ✨

- I hadn't seen Harry that happy to be on stage in months, his vocals also got better

- The energy in the pods is soooo high, the dancing part of the concert was so fun 🤩

- To think that last time I saw Harry play Wembley, it was 2014 WWA Tour and he had long hair

- I am always very proud of what he achieved despite everything, he deserved nights like tonight and many more

- As it Was live SLAPS, the LEAVE AMERICA part fans scream at the top of their lungs kill me every time 😅

i didn’t go to the show last night, but what was your first harry styles/1d concert like? or your favorite of his that you attended?

My first Harry/1D show was in 2014, for the WWA Tour. I got barricade, Harry threw his jersey at me, I was almost killed by fans and he then called security to save me from them lol he then proceeded to interact with me for the entire show, we have a bunch of moments and he even imitated me being crushed in a jokey way lol my favourite show that I attended… oof. That’s a hard one. I think both Wembley shows this year. And ONO for Fine Line.

Today i'm off to see BTS perform at Wembley Stadium so it feels very nice that i get to see my favourite bands perform in stadiums 😁

Lie Better or Not at All

I cannot for the life of me figure out why they lied this way about Harry’s living situation.  The text from Rolling Stone, which includes the quotes from Ben Winston, is below: 

Their friendship was forged in the early stages of One D’s success, when the band debuted on The X Factor. Winston, then a filmmaker and production partner with Corden, asked for a meeting, and instantly hit it off with the group. He became a friendly mentor to Styles, though the friendship was soon tested. Styles had just moved out of his family home in Cheshire, an inconvenient three hours north of London. He found a home he liked near the Winstons in Hampstead Heath. The new house needed two weeks of work. Styles asked if he could briefly move in with Winston and his wife, Meredith. “She agreed,” Winston says, “but only for two weeks.”

Styles parked his mattress in the Winstons’ attic. “Two weeks later and he hadn’t bought his house yet,” continues Winston. “It wasn’t going through. Then he said, 'I’m going to stay until Christmas, if you don’t mind.’ Then Christmas came, and …”

For the next 20 months, one of the most desired stars on the planet slept on a small mattress in an attic. The only other bit of house-dressing was the acoustic guitar that would rattle into the Winstons’ bedroom. While fans gathered at the empty house where he didn’t live, Styles lived incognito with a couple 12 years his senior. The Winstons’ Orthodox Jewish lifestyle, with a strong family emphasis, helped keep him sane.

“Those 20 months were when they went from being on a reality show, X Factor, to being the biggest-selling artists in the world,” recalls Winston. “That period of time, he was living with us in the most mundane suburban situation. No one ever found out, really.

“Or he’d come and lounge with us. We’d never discuss business. He would act as if he hadn’t come back from playing to 80,000 people three nights in a row in Rio de Janeiro.”

They’re claiming that Harry lived with Ben for the first 20 months after X-Factor, that Harry lived with Ben first after he moved out of his childhood home, and that Harry bought a house right after he finished X-Factor.

Anyone Can Tell This Is Wrong

None of this makes any sense, even if you just consider internal logic.  

Why would you ask a man you just met to live in his house?  Surely there was someone else you could live with, like someone you’ve been working with on the X-Factor for months?  A relative or family friend?  Or maybe with whoever the other boys, who also had to move to London, were staying with?  

How did Harry have enough money to buy a house right after X-Factor when 1D hadn’t started making money yet? Even if he got an advance or a signing bonus off their contract, what mother would allow her teenage son to spend it all on a house immediately when it wasn’t even clear if their band would succeed yet?

The Timeline Doesn’t Match Either

Moving on to the timeline discrepancies that require a little context, Harry did not have 20 months where he could have lived with Ben Winston.  All the fans are well aware that the boys lived together in a complex for awhile and that Harry and Louis lived together because they wanted to and because Harry was underage at the time.

SVT - filmed Nov 18, 2011 - the boys talking about living together in a complex

Celebs Now - Feb 27, 2012 - reporting that Harry moved out of the complex and bought an East London home

Daily Mail - Apr 23, 2012 - reporting that Harry and Louis' old place was up for rent again

Daily Mail - Jul 16, 2012 - reporting that Harry was looking for a house and Louis already had one

Daily Mail - Sep 27, 2012 - reporting that Harry bought a house and moved out from his East End flat

95.5 PLJ - Jan 31, 2013 - Ed Sheeran talking about Harry having 2 houses and staying with Ed for months

This is all somewhat confusing, but at the very least it’s the official timeline according to what was reported.  Theoretically Harry could have lived with Ben from Dec 2010 until Sep 2011, but that’s definitely not 20 months.  It’s less than half of that really.  

You could say that the interviewer messed up, but that doesn’t explain why Ben said the things about Harry having a house at the same time.

It’s apparent that Harry wasn’t buying a house until early 2012 at the earliest, so Ben’s claim that Harry had a house but was staying with him would make much more sense for 2012.  However, even if that was the case, Ed Sheeran claims that Harry stayed with him for at least a month or so in 2012 and makes it sound like Harry was hopping couches at several people’s places, so that doesn’t match up with Harry staying with Ben continuously for months on end.

Rio de Janeiro?

I added in that last comment about Rio de Janeiro because it seemed an odd concert location to mention.  1D didn’t have their first South American shows until the WWA tour in 2014.  If we’re talking about 2011 or even 2012, Rio de Janeiro doesn’t make sense.  

Of course it’s 2017 now so Ben could just be confusing the time periods, but you would think he’d mention something in England or the US like Wembley Stadium or Madison Square Garden.  Considering that none of what he said about the timeline matches up, I’m not really inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

WHY??????

If they were going to lie about something, why lie about something so easy to disprove?  There’s no period where Harry could have lived with Ben for 20 months and he definitely wouldn’t have had a house in 2011 while living with Ben.

You could argue that Ben did this on his own to look cool, but why lie about easily fact checked things like that?  This argument also isn’t great because it assumes neither Harry nor Harry’s team got a chance to look over the interview before it was released and that’s unlikely.  The interview even places Harry in the room with Ben and the interviewer at the time of part of the interview.

It makes more sense to believe that Harry living with Ben was official narrative approved, but what was the point of the lie anyway?  I know Ben’s comments played up the het!Harry and oddball!Harry images, but talking about where Harry lived wasn’t necessary at all to do that.  Why go out of your way to choose a topic with easily researched information and then lie about it?

Of course there’s the agenda that it ignores that Harry lived with Louis or with the band, but again, why even bring something that old up when no one is asking anyway?

I have to chalk this up to incomprehensible things 1DHQ does again, but that doesn’t make it hurt my brain any less.

At least Harry’s wembley show took 90 mins to sell out when I tried to get wwa wembley tickets it was gone in like 10/15 mins like genuinely horrible 😭

Idk if this is something weird to point out but why is harry doing 3 shows in a row for the same venue? Ain’t he gonna be tired? Like that seems a bit much no? Have other artists done this for their tours? Also does it have anything to do w/ population since it’s LA and NY? Or is it just bc it means more profit?

I mean, there’s pretty decent precedent for artists doing multiple nights in a row. WWA did 3 nights at Wembley. 

But I’d argue that 3 nights in a row in the same location is actually a smaller lift than 3 nights in a row in different cities. 

They do multiple nights based on demand. And they’ve clearly seen it for these shows in those cities.
