Ngl I had a dream when I took a nap and this was in it so I decided to draw it 😌 basically 1946 & 1964 were big years for Alaskan earthquake magnitudes! '46 caused tsunamis all the way to Hawaii and took over a hundred people, '64 caused tsunamis in Alaska and took over a hundred people as well, but I find the parallels between some of Alaska and Hawaii's histories to be very interesting (case in point Dutch Harbor & Pearl Harbor as one example) 🤔

Thinking about it makes me giggle California will be so chronically online and Alaska lives under a rock

California tells Alaska about the scandal of the day and Alaska has to pretend he knows any of the names he’s saying

He once made the mistake of asking “wait who’s that?” And California made a whole PowerPoint

Alaska’s level of sass is insane, he’s that bitch and it drives California crazy

He thought Wash and Oregon were bad, Alaska will humble California in such a way he knows he’ll be the asshole if he argues

Btw Hawaii and California has a somewhat amicable relationship so long as California doesn’t talk to or come close to her ever

Tbh I’m real fond of these three as a trio Hawaii once had to stay with California while she was rebuilding her home and she lasted about a day before staying with Alaska instead

This failed her when she realized California makes it a personal mission to socialize with Alaska like once or twice a week

She has never been SO happy to be home cause dancing on hot coals would’ve been less painful than watching California boyfail and fumble around Alaska

Btw he is severely underestimated by both cause there’s no way he doesn’t know by now

Tbh I think this pairing is super fun I also think maybe Alaska finds himself catching feelings disappears into the woods for like a month. Yk. Like normal people do

So in the course of this drawing I found myself wondering, “surely Alaska has some surfing with all that coastline!” And thus, I learned about Yakutat Bay, the surfing capitol of Alaska. So I think Alaska would at least be somewhat capable of surfing, albeit not as good as Surfer Bro Cali or Miss “I literally invented this” Hawai’i.

But hey, like I said, he’s trying his darn best!

Please note, any inaccuracies in this portrayal of surfing is bc I know NOTHING about surfing. I feel like there’s all kinds of symbolism with the board designs and types of boards, etc, etc, that I would get into if I knew more about it!!

Do y'all have random headcanons about the state's and Gov's teleporting abilities?

Here are some of mine cuz I'm bored:

• The 49 states that are on the continental US can teleport to any state there while Hawaii and Puerto Rico have to get themselves to in-person meetings via airplane or by any other means (which is why Hawaii isn't really at the table with the others cuz she can't be bothered to go and poor Puerto Rico goes through the effort of appearing when he can but not really being acknowledged 😭)

• Gov, CDC, and IDC can travel anywhere they want

• This is kinda a funny one, but if they damage their hand that they use to snap away, the teleporting either glitches (like they teleport to random places on accident) or it doesn't work

• An obvious one being that Florida can summon any state (for whatever reason lol), but Gov and CDC can prevent any state from teleporting away. The states also have to leave the Statehouse to teleport.

• This one is veryyy far fetched and I'm kinda tossing this idea around in my head, but I like the idea of Hawaii traveling by water (because she can't snap around like everyone else loool) so like, when she puts the flower in her hair into a body of water, she can open a portal to another place with water (so like a pool, hot tub, lake, ect. The Statehouse def has a pool sooooo lol) It just sounds ✨ magical ✨... or maybe Moana is still in my mind lol

Hawai’i literally so pretty gorgeous wonderful beautiful she deserves all the love 😾 very happy about the colors!! I haven’t been reading about Hawai’i that much unfortunately (well, other than figuring out when Alaska and her woulda met and eventually become the besties that they are) but I promise I’ll get there because she deserves it 😌

Top 5 to get married and the bottom 5?

Utah number 1 cause he canonically has a wife. Number 2 I feel would be Virginia cause he’s practically the at home dad of the south lol. Numbers 3 and 4 would be Florida and Loui cause I feel like they would marry each other just to win-. And 5 would probably be Iowa and Wisconsin (“Weird way to propose but I do”). Honorable mentions Vermont and New Hampshire.

Least likely to get married I feel would be Arizona (aroace Arizona canon totally), Ohio (do I need to explain lol), Delaware (haven’t fully decided but I see him on the Aroace spectrum as well), Connecticut (does feel attraction but doesn’t pursue it), and Hawaii (see her as a lesbian but currently not looking for a long term relationship).

(For all the characters I’ve said are aroace I’m not trying to say aroace people can’t get married it’s just how I see the characters. I myself am aroace and have had a partner for over a year :])
