And even when Eddie tries to keep in contact with his son while he's in Texas she just brushes him off and doesn't try to get Chris to talk to him. All because she got her way so she doesn't care, pushing Eddie further into his pit of self-hatred. And for that she must be punished

• Eddie talking to Bobby about his Catholic guilt in relation to his sexuality. And then going to Michael for advice about the transition of believing he's straight and having a heterosexual marriage and family to where he is now. The 3 of them need to go on a fishing trip or something. They'd have it all sorted out within the weekend

• Eddie and Maddie having ANY kind of interaction on screen. The writers know that if they teamed up they'd be besties instantly and they're keeping that from us!

• Chris needing dating advice but as soon as his dad tries to help he cuts him off like: "Not from you, you're obviously gay and all of your straight relationships sunk like the Titanic. But thanks anyway. Hey Buck!"

18/2 RATS Martyn's stream Recap

So a lot happened today so I need to write this. I really recommend everyone to watch Martyn's stream bc wtf

So for the most part of the stream Martyn was building the stage for the Rats Awards (which will take place on Friday, although he won't be there bc Timmy is visiting) until the last 20 minutes or so. "Building stream" he said "Just chilling" he said.

Meanwhile, Apo is looking for the murderer of his giant plush goose wife (who Martyn destroyed at the beginning of the smp for materials). He talks to Eloise, who only tells them who was around that day; however, they then follow her and hear her talking to Martyn, so he suspects him.

Therefore Apo goes talk to Ren (who wasn't streaming, was just building the ship) and tells him about it. Ren accepts to go with him and confront Martyn, and that if he's the murderer the whole situation will be decided by a duel. So they tell Martyn to accompany them to the library, where Apo tells him about the situation and Martyn admits to be the killer but defends himself saying that he didn't know about it being Apo's, that he didn't know Apo that much at that point anyway, that it's only a plushie and that he needed the material to build Ren's desk so it was captain's orders. Ren intervenes and says that they should duel bc that's how stuff is decided in the high seas. However, Martyn doesn't have his knife bc he lended it to Eloise a bit earlier (which makes him think that she is in with the set up) so he easily loses and dies (although honestly, Apo is pretty good at pvp he might have won anyway idk). Which leads to a lore intermission with the bright green screen and a 3 lives -> 2 lives countdown.

When he wakes up he goes retake his stuff and he's pretty pissed off so when he meets Ren in the office he lashes out for just standing there and letting him be killed. Ren tries to justify himself and tells him that he fought well but Martyn is still angry. Atp he is also tired for all their previous issues (with Ren's obsession with sangrías and for not listening to him), tells him that he shouldn't have invited so many people to the crew and that he shouldn't be the captain, and threatens to mutiny. So Ren, in the craziest plot twist of the season, tells him that he doesn't understand the role of a captain and that those rats are necessary bc he will be trading some of them for cargo in a port. And Martyn is so fucking thrown back for that he is like "ooooh. damn. bye bye."

He then briefly confronts Eloise who says he wasn't expecting Apo to go that far but I feel like Martyn is in his Blondbeard 2.0 arc now

So that's the whole thing. The Ren thing is so crazy, not even ccMartyn was expecting that. Also, Martyn always uses the music in his streams so well, it's smth that always wows me. Btw I am writing this just after the stream ended and hadn't had time to check Apo or Eloise's povs yet, so if someone wants to correct me on smth tell me and I will make changes

Edit: apparently Apo listened to the end of the Ren-Martyn conversation and confronted the captain but Ren is like nope and tries to deflect by reminding him that he has killed Martyn and that "justice" has been done. So Apo also knows about the rat trafficking thing. I am not including it in this post bc it's getting looong but Apo also has had their own interesting lore going on about having an identity crisis and why they did what they did, so go watch that as well!

I yap so much about the comic and the importance i find in its contents but i hope when i write dirk or jake or rlly any of them it doesnt come off as me dumbing them down😭

I know the core internal mechanisms at which they all operate from otherwise i wouldnt understand why they even do what they do and why they speak how they do since that is so crucial to analysis of their behaviour and Why they were written.

But i mostly write silly scenarios so the deeper messier parts dont get to show much😭 working on deeper things tho rest assured i am locking in🫡🫡🫡

I try to match the tones of how i believe the characters would act continuing off the ending of homestuck. With dirk and jake specifically i try to write them to where they still both kinda dont say everything they need to but they dont have the weight of narrative destiny on their shoulders anymore so they can admit they like spending time together and have actually confessed like normal people and got out those apologies they kept yammering on about in the last half of act 6

I try to reinvoke the ridiculous nature of the one time we really see the real dirk and jake talk (which was actually a dreambubble memory. jake is so gay.) but i try to make it feel how that did, they really do love spending time together and just being weird and cringe and bantering about stupid shit ❤️(the most we see dirk type laugh in the comic)

I feel like the Best Bros part of dirkjake kinda gets lost alot of the time considering THEY NEVER SPEAK DIRECTLY (which is insane that hussie could craft this universe bending gender norm shattering yaoi with no fucking interactions wtf anyway) but there is alot you can gleam from jakes interactions with hal and this one log to tell us how they usually speak

Dirk always veers into making homoerotic comments because.. i dunno he might have feelings for jake or something whos to say. and when jake presses him dirk immediately diverts. I think from being around dave and everything daves realised thats bullshit about masculine standards and heroism that let him have a healthier relationship to masculinity, hearing abt that would loosen dirk up about Actually being affectionate to jake

But hes still somehow trying to no homo his way out of things that are incredibly homo just in a subtler way, not immediately going “Haha, what? I never said that. Anyway.” (Its both out of his fear for what his true identity means about him as a man but also because he doesnt think he deserves to get such affections cough thinks himself an evil)

And jake was always going with the flow. If his friends socially decreed something as okay to talk about then the fucking damn burst open and he couldnt keep it in anymore but they had to Very Clearly Clarify with him about it. So i think dirk going down a more positive road would lead jake there too seeing that if its okay for dirk to be less restrictive with his feelings jake can be too.

The Epilogues has a highly specific premise and was being manned by caliborn and calliope 2.0 cranked to the max in the deranged fanfic behaviour so. Of course it would not be a healthy environment for characters to grow💀 anyone who takes it as full confirmation about how theyd act or become as adults and ignores the fact of its premise Being “Homestuck but Sick and Twisted; The Fanfiction” is kind of stupid its like saying homosuck was in character. Ofc everybodys lives goes to shit because the two running the show dont know how the hell to be good puppeteers 😭

Said it on twitter but you can tell how much a dirk hates himself based on his relationship to a jake. Because tho ult dirk wouldnt ever admit it jake is dirks anchor of self worth just as dirk is jakes. When they show compassion and kindness to one another its a step closer to self acceptance because Jake is quite frankly a living embodiment of EVERYTHING that is “wrong” (queer, cringe, sincere, feminine) about Dirk to himself in his saviour complex surrounding manhood. If dirk were to step down and admit his own humanity itd mean hed have to accept he is capable of growing and isnt inherently evil, and jake would be ready to embrace that about himself too

Even in my simple silly writing i at least do try to retain dirk and jakes strange emotional dodging olympics but also its just on a smaller level since theyve inching their way to fully internalising that Its Okay to be Cringe and Gay Together❤️ because the World isnt Ending anymore. you kiss at peters sweet spot, he leans ever so slightly into your mark but straightens up and focuses on the approaching storm.

“peter,” you whine out his name, tugging at the curls around his ears. “pay attention to me! we have to talk to you guys.”

ethan celebrates when peters down to three other players, taylor frowns at the lack of attention, she brings it to a whole new level.

“i guess they don’t care about the pregnancy pact, oh well.” taylor starts to scramble off, ethan wacks peter a good one, before hunkering her to his lap.

peter smirks, building a quick wall to hide behind before looking at his friend. “don’t let the estrogen win.”

last effort, like an annoying toddler. you both rapid fire their names.

“ethan, ethan, ethan, ethan, eth-“

“peter, peter, peter, peter, pe-“

peter drops his controller, his hands squeezing tight around your waist and pulling you into him. “you’re being a real menace today, trouble.”

ethan silences his girlfriend with a hand over her mouth, “my brain is melting and i’ll kill you.” taylor tugs at his wrist, ethan rips it away with a gag, “you licked me!”

“this is your fault, parker. you see what your girlfriend has turned mine into? she’s made her into trouble 2.0, it’s despicable.”

taylor stopped him with a kiss, “this is why you always win, it’s so unfai-“ another kiss.

your turn, tapping on his shoulder he gives you his full attention. “what is it, my baby? you have my full attention.” you give him a peck.

“taylor and i have come to the agreement that you’ll take us to see the barbie movie and get dinner after.”

“i’m so glad you’ve decided for us.” sarcasm on peters end.

“is this a watch the movie movie or make out movie movie.” taylor tucked some hair under ethans hat.

“oh no, we’re watching it, lovie.”

“i’d rather eat glass, lovie.”

you frown and tsk, “i told you they don’t care about us. we can just go taylor, maybe we’ll find some boys that wouldn’t mind seeing the barbie movie with us.”

“ugh, you’re so right. ethan told me he loved me but i guess he was lying.”

“same with peter, he actually hates me. he loves making me unhappy.”

peter and ethan stare at each other while taylor and you bounce between a ‘who’s boyfriend hates them more’ contest.

in tandem, your thighs are slapped, taylor jumps slightly, you pout.

“alright. barbie movie. let’s go.”

it’s clear you’ve been showing taylor the ropes, because peter can hear you mumble out as you walked out behind them, “i told you the ‘you don’t care’ thing works every time.”

My take on the Marauders

I'm a Marauders era fan. MY take on what it should be

Sirius Black- is the tallest (Well over 6 foot), maybe one or two tattoos, black hair above his shoulders, doesn't simp over Remus and can easily do anything without him, one of the smartest in the school, hell of a dark humor, dark looks, VERY popular, has many flaws, but is still the best, prefers James over anyone, one of the hottest in the school, reckless

James Potter- not as tall as over 6 foot, like 5,10 or 5,11 (Like Harry), one of the smartest in the school, popular, not constantly asking Lily out or assaulting her

Remus Lupin- quiet, coward, tries to keep to himself, good at quidditch, but doesn't play, isn't the school's Casanova, not the hottest guy, a bit below average or such, not over 6 foot, not the smartest in the school (Like average or just above), doesn't swear like a sailor, doesn't have anger issues, isn't an asshole, not a tattoo type of guy

Peter Pettigrew- most likely more popular than Remus, is included, not hated by his friends, not a bitch to his friends, doesn't act like his adult self

Lily Evans- isn't Hermione 2.0, she does swear occasionally, is able to beat someone's ass, rightfully hates Snape and the other Slytherins or blood supremacists, strong, smart (Not as much as James and Sirius though

Regulus Black- not a twink, isn't a crybaby who constantly cries about Sirius (They probably threaten each other and use death threats until Pandora and James are like 'Oi, wtf'), tall, not as much as Sirius, but probably James' height and maybe taller

Walburga Black- doesn't use unforgivable curses on her kids, doesn't physically abuse them. I hope you guys know that emotion abuse exists. DOES spoil her kids, puts expectations on them, but does praise them about being the Black heir, she's the reason they're so bloody hot

The others aren't so bad (But they still have bad characterization)

The Slytherins are not softies. It was the 70's, LGBT wasn't s respected, though there could be a few gay kisses and other stuff. They don't have so many tattoos that it covers their whole body, there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that there's pure bloods and they're still in Hogwarts. Sirius is TALL. He has dark humor, is capable of doing stuff himself, did NOT regret the prank.

The Prank- Sirius openly said (And to Remus) that Snape got what was coming to him for the prank, I bet there wasn't a whole angst thing where they ignored Sirius. James would NEVER do that. Remus was a coward; he probably forgave Sirius very easily (Though he couldn't trust him), they probably laughed about it in the dorms.

Wolfstar- It's one of the biggest ships. I don't ship it or see the appeal. Though I'm not going to hate or tell anyone to stop, but there's so much evidence that Remus and Sirius were toxic to each other (I'm going to say it all in a different post). Sirius and Remus can live without each other perfectly fine. It was James that Sirius couldn't live without. Though you guys can ship whatever you want (But please no pro-ships), but also. ATYD is NOT canon. The writing is brilliant, it must've taken a god long time, it's great. BUT. The characterization is completely off, the girls are barely there, even Snape is wrong (Still hate his guts though).

Also, I know SOME fans are going to come to my house with pitch forks. THOSE FANS, you can come and suck my nonexistent DIC- (I'm a woman). ALSO, I'm not homophobic for saying stuff about gay not being as active in the marauder's era, there were probably SOME, but I'm lesbian, so I can't be homophobic. And to THOSE fans, I know it's not real, but I don't have a life, and I like being a part of the marauder's era, but it's the characterization

Also, everyone says "Canon? What's canon", but the only reason the marauders era exists is because of canon. It's like me making Sirius a blonde, and I go "Canon? Never heard of her"
