the story is now a smidgen over 100k words and about 4-5 chapters from being done... this is the first original story I've written since I was 12 and by far the longest, and I won't lie.... I don't know how to process that I wrote a draft of a story. I stuck to it! Even if it ends up being garbage and I have to entirely rework it, I still wrote the damn thing... what the fuck!!! It's a story and I wrote it!!! What!

Tbh I really hate how ppl act like the aids epidemic only targeted queer men and trans women, or just queer men (bc trans women are often left out of the convo too) (I mean in queer spaces it's phrases as "queer men and trans women" but in mainstream spaces it's often just queer men who are discussed)

Women and trans ppl who were AFAB died on the steps of the CDC to get them to change the list of illnesses that classify someone's condition as AIDS because so many people who were AFAB were dying and couldn't get any sort of insurance coverage or anything because technically, according to the CDC, they weren't dying of AIDS, because this association of hiv/aids with cis queer men has existed since the start of the whole thing

It just really bothers me to see shit like "lesbians were there too! They took care of gay men while they got sick"

Like. What about the rest of the queer people who died. Talk about them too.
