Literally losing my mind over one of my OCs being eerily similar to Blackbeard. Legit.

Obviously they're not similar appearance-wise, but allow me to ramble like a madman.

My character, Maximum Jagger, AKA Hellhound, is a guy with a rough upbringing which caused him to run away from home. Eventually, he was found by this older guy who is just often referred to as King Dragon to join his gang called the Under Kids to oppose the authoritarian government ruling in their country of Baihon. King Dragon is often seen as a father figure to his gang members, especially the younger members, since a lot of them come from broken families that were corrupted by the government. Jagger worked with the Under Kids since childhood, working closely with King Dragon as one of his highest subordinates, essentially being his right-hand man. However, upon some disagreements about how they both want to handle things, Jagger left and betrayed the group, took some of the members of the Under Kids, and made his own group called the Wrathchildren. He then eventually kills King Dragon as he wants to claim the spot of the leader of the Under Kids and take down the government in his own way, through violence and mass killings.

Blackbeard is still mostly a mystery as we don't know his intentions, but from what we can gather, he's an orphan and was adopted into Whitebeard's crew from a young age. We can imply that his childhood prior to that was rough based on the images we can see of him being visibly upset and crying. Whitebeard too is also seen as a father figure to his crewmates, with many of them calling him pops and stuff like that. Blackbeard worked under Whitebeard until he killed Thatch and left, starting his own pirate crew. Eventually, at Marineford, he's the one to land the finishing blow to Whitebeard, ultimately killing him.

Jagger and Blackbeard share personality traits, with them being violent, bloodthirsty, and seemingly friendly upon first glance, but also ambitious. Blackbeard's personality is fairly inconsistent and unpredictable, and along with his ability to hold more than one devil fruit at a time and the three skulls on his Jolly Roger, it's often theorized that he's a system and has two other alters. In Jagger's case, he canonically has OSDD and is at least aware of there being alters in his headspace. So there's that other similarity.

And the final cherry in the cherry pie lies in their abilities. Jagger's Linked Soul power, Paint It Black, allows him to create black holes that absorb literally anything. These black holes swallow things within his vicinity, such as objects, people, and attacks. If he wills it, he can release them, although they'll be heavily damaged. Another facet of his ability is that he uses it to absorb his own feelings too, but that's not really important for this discussion. Blackbeard has eaten the Yami Yami no Mi, AKA the Dark-Dark Fruit. And guess what that does. It absorbs things into darkness similar to a black hole and it can spit things out, causing severe damage.

The best part about all this is that I made Jagger way before I got into One Piece. He was made in July 29, 2021, before I started eleventh grade. I got into One Piece late 2022/early 2023, which was in the middle of twelfth grade. So all of this is just a pure coincidence.

Obviously he's not going to be completely 1-on-1 to Blackbeard. For one, he has a girlfriend (or rather had because yes), and he would never think of even working alongside the government even to take it down from the inside, even if it furthered his own goals. Blackbeard actually does the latter by becoming a Warlord, although he never had any intention of actually helping them whatsoever.

I could also go into the similarities between King Dragon and Whitebeard, since they're also somewhat similar, at least in terms of the role they play. King Dragon is the current most wanted criminal in West Baihon (although no one knows his actual identity) and Whitebeard is the strongest pirate after Gol D. Roger's execution. Part of King Dragon's goal was to help out young, lost children from the country and provide them a new family to escape from their old ones. Similarly, Whitebeard states that he wants a family, although in his case, that seems to be his main goal. King Dragon and Whitebeard both were catalysts for a new era in their respective worlds and both died as a part of it, being killed by a former subordinate of theirs. These "new eras" were the major ones in their respective universes and inspired many to follow suit into pursuing freedom.

Anyways, that's my madman ramblings. I'll try not to neglect my Tumblr account that much in the future. Sobbing and pissing.

everyone could see it, they can see how he bounces his knee in anticipation for you to come out of your room and see him.

they see the way he picks at his nails when he can finally smell your shampoo when you walk past, or your lotion. (he adores your smell, it makes him get a dopamine boost.)

he loves when he can just randomly find a nail of yours that probably popped off and he just shoves it in his pocket, keeping it for some kind of good luck.

everyone can see it, and they know what he feels. (not everyone, because it does look borderline creepy.)

yet, it took izuku and bakugou to scold him for letting you get away.

“that means you like her!” izuku shouts in excitement, going off in some ramble about how opposites do sometimes attract, but katsuki bonks him in the head.

“the fact that you lettin’ her run around single is crazy.” he shakes his head, ignoring izukus’ rambles about how heavy handed katsuki is and hes too rough with his hair. (katsuki knowing that izuku tries to take care of his fro at times.)

todoroki only thinks to himself, then eventually asking. “so, how am i supposed to ask her out? you both know im not too fond of being outside the dorms.” he makes a point, him being a home body and not being a social butterfly.

“well, see if she is too! and then offer like a snack and movie date!” izuku suggested, getting bonked again for being too loud.

they both are idiots.

yet, he takes their advice, walking away as they both claw at each other’s throats and heading to his dorm.

“hey, can i ask a question?” he types to you, turning on his ringer and bouncing his knees. he feel’s nervous, sick even.

“yeah, wsp?” you text back, watching the three dots appear and disappear. his heart was racing, what the hell were you doing to him? did you have some other quirk?

“can i take you for a snack and movie date?” “ we dont have to go outside if you dont want to.” “you also dont have to say yes.” he triple texts, biting at his thumbnail and eyes darting around.

his heart lurches when you reply back, relieved and feeling like he is going to puke and have anxiety shits.

“yeah, we can. and im more of a homebody so..”

Hijo de la luna (The Moon's Son)

Remember this? Yeah, I'm just gonna ramble messily about it. I keep trying to just talk and I keep writing instead so, here you go.

So, for a little bit of context; I roleplay on wsp, that's where my oc, Ilkay, comes from. He has a sister who also plays the game and because I wanted to create a second account I said "you know, what? Might as well use him and make her look like him" (I failed at it, but it's okay cause I can fix it later) few days after, I dreamt of him and Xavier.

In his original lore, he's supposed to be the moon's son, which pretty much makes him a god. I'm not gonna give all the details since it's a lot to write, but I'll say this: he has two sisters, Emma and Nevaeh. Emma died when she was young and Nevaeh is someone he met through his father at a later time and whom he decided to adopt as a sister because of many shared similarities. I'm using Nevaeh as inspiration for mc's appearance while naming her Emma because... well, you'll see why later.

Anyways, since he's a god and his abilities are related to the dark, it made sense to me that in the lads universe his evol would be shadow manipulation, a complete opposite of Xavier's.

The dream was essentially just scattered scenes.

The first one was them training together after Ilkay had asked Xavier to be his sparring partner, since he was the only other one in the association who used a sword to fight wanderers. Then it skips to when Emma (mc) joins the association and people start confusing Ilkay and her for siblings, since they look quite similar. She accompanies Xavier on one of the sparring sessions and spectates them. Ilkay eventually gives in and asks Xavier if they really look that similar and he's forced out of his little denial stage because of Xavier's answer. When they're done, Ilkay meets Tara and is essentially invited into the group outing. During said group outing, Ilkay gets to know Emma a little bit more and it dawns on him that she might actually be his long lost sister who he thought dead.

Then, when Emma looses grandma and Caleb, Ilkay is there to hold her and help her through the pain because he knows what it's like to loose a family member. And from there's a few more time skips to him hanging out more and more with Emma and them acting more and more like siblings.

At some point, I got a tid-bit into Xavier's head where he's struggling to juggle what he feels for Emma and what he feels for Ilkay. On one side, she's his Queen reincarnated, some emotions are bound to resurface. On the other, Ilkay makes him feel things that Emma doesn't. Usually, when other people talk to Emma, he feels jealous but when it's Ilkay who talks to her, he finds that he doesn't care. And then he slowly goes from feeling jealous of who talks to Emma, to feeling jealous of who talks to Ilkay after seeing Ilkay flirt with someone else twice: first time with a woman, second time with a man.

Ilkay, of course, also wants Xavier but he's not gonna do anything about it because 1) he doesn't know how Xav feels about men 2) His sister-who-doesn't-know-because-she-doesn't-remember seems pretty close to him and he's not about to come in between that.

Ilkay meets Rafayel after impulsively going into the arcade, using getting a plushy for Emma as an excuse, and decides that he hates the guy (he doesn't really, he finds him funny, even if a little bit annoying) there's a bit of a one sided rivalry from Rafayel's side and it's so hilarious but so fucking painful because he can't just say "that's my sister you're flirting with, buddy" cause she doesn't know and he hasn't figured out how to tell her. Maybe a dna test? But how would he get her to do one without it being suspicious? He already has a headache from the fish boy, he doesn't want to think about that right now.

Then she goes to the n109 zone with Rafayel's help and both Xav and Ilkay's advice, meets Sylus and comes back a few months later acting a little different. The first thing that happens is her confronting Ilkay about the fact that they are siblings, so they end up having a very emotional conversation about their lives and how it progressed after. They have an impromptu sleepover and invite Tara and Xavier to hangout.

Everything is normal for a while. It's just patrolling, hanging out with Emma and her friends, sparring or doing other things with Xavier – like falling asleep together while on the couch, cuddling in their sleep and then pretending nothing happened and "everything is totally fine," "they definitely don't want to do more than that," "no, I'm not gonna think about this later while in bed/the shower" when they get up – and going on about life.

He ends up meeting Zayne when he finds Emma at a pastry shop. There's a fond look in the mans face and, honesty, he's not that surprised that she has three men wrapped around her finger. Although, he does feel a little bit bitter that one of them is someone he likes, but it's fine, it's not like she has any control over it, she's adorable and all that.

Then it's snippets of Ilkay's life where he's being a hunter, helping his dad with some dirty work and making deals in the Nest. He meets Rafayel again, right when he's going to drink the shot to take the deal. He doesn't approach, simply gives him an acknowledging nod, drinks and leaves to do what he needs to do.

Some time later, Ilkay ends up going back to the n109 zone to cut some dead ends for his father and he meets Sylus while Emma is with him. His only reaction is a raised eyebrow and a teasing "get 'em, girl" because he totally saw everything but he's going to play dumb for now.

When he teases her about it later, she flails and he learns that she's been meeting with Sylus for a while and that she is attracted to him. He doesn't like how he treated her in the beginning and is quite against her being with him, but he trusts her so he won't say anything about it. He's seen her spar with Xavier and he's seen her train by herself, she's more than capable. Besides, he thinks his facial expressions where more than enough.

Then it's his turn to flail when she asks him about his feelings for Xavier and how he should do something about it instead of whatever the fuck he's been doing because "it's fucking annoying to see you pin after each other when both of you clearly feel the same way" and "I've caught you guys cuddling more than enough times, please, I'm tired of pretending otherwise."

He can't really argue against her, try as he might. So, with her blessing and insistent encouragement, he becomes more foward with Xavier, asks him out to things like eating and going to the library or places where they could talk about space and all that shit. Asks about him and offers information about himself in return and the relationship slowly develops.

Ilkay ends up calling him after a rough fight with a Wanderer and that raises up the anti because "gotta take you to the hospital, don't die on me" and yada yada.

It gets a little angsty for Emma cause the abandonment issues hit her hard, Xavier has to stand back while he watches her cling to Ilkay and that breaks him a little cause Tara misunderstands how close they are (he also does it but he keeps quiet). Then it's like "Ew, she's my sister" and Emma flinches away with pure disgust in her face and they realize that they never shared the fact that they were siblings with anyone other than Zayne, Sylus and Rafayel.

Xavier is super fucking relieved, then confused cause "Didn't she die during the catastrophy?"

"I said I 'lost' her, I never said she was dead."

He tells them that they were playing hide and seek with other kids during that time. They where able to find the other kids, but she's the only one that they couldn't find and he'd been haunted with the guilt ever since because that stupid game was his fucking idea in the first place and the one time that he let her hide by herself everything went to shit so fast. They all cry a little bit before leaving, with Tara going back home and Xavier going for food. Emma is the only one who stays and he admits what he hadn't told her the first time.

How he felt so guilty that he started helping his father in the business, filled with so much anger that he'd take it out in his missions. How he became a hunter as a last resort because he wanted to believe that she was still alive, since they never found a body. It's another emotional talk, one where he's terrified of what she'll think of him, cause it's one thing to know your boyfriend-to-be has killed people and it's other thing to know you come from a family of assassin's. He can't gage her reaction, but he can assume that her hug means that she doesn't hate him and doesn't want him far away from her and that's more than enough for now.

He gets discharged and finds himself pleasantly surprised when Xavier gets time off and offers to take care of him while he recovers. Xavier has to insist before Ilkay finally relents and lets the older man take him to his apartment.

He snickers at Xavier's first attempts at cooking, horribly endeared with him, and eventually convinces him to let him be a bit of a guide through the cooking. He progresses fast, to the point where Ilkay only watches, barely commenting anything as he keeps him company.

During a talk about music and interests and life as a hunter, Lumiere ends up coming as a topic. He laughs at Xavier's petulant look when he praises the man and he pokes the older man's cheek before saying "you look so adorable like this" he wants to eat him up, he wants to take the plunge so badly, but he's even more terrified of everything going wrong, so he keeps himself in check "Don't worry, Xav, you're cool too"

That night, they cuddle in bed. Ilkay is on his back, one of his arms being used as a pillow by Xav while the silver haired man leaves an arm over his chest.

yo. wsp. sooooo i been writing some thoughts lately and i need help with something

HOW THE FUCK DO I WRITE GOOD SMUT? like i tried once and it was fucking BAD lollll. i seriously need help and you're the only person i can actually ask because you. are literally. the best at that. so pleassse send help

bb i love you and you are a sweet little raspberry pastry. i am so flattered to be asked something like this. i don’t know if i am the best but i do think any success i have is from learning from the best! im not great with advice but here are some things i believe have helped me.

the most important thing i can tell you is this: WRITE “BAD” SMUT! who cares? no-one has to see it?? write bad smut, and then write more bad smut, then go back and reread your og bad smut and decide what you would change so you enjoy reading it just a little bit more. then write some more bad smut. the first time you ever wrote a sentence, was it an ivory tower example of academically flawless grammar, punctuation, and spelling? was it an evocative and award-winning piece of revelatory poetry inspiring massive social change on a global scale? no way. you probably didn’t even have all your letters facing the right direction. WRITE BAD SMUT OR YOU’LL NEVER WRITE GOOD SMUT.

also write bad smut because it’s fun honestly and who cares how good it is?

next most important piece of advice: i think you gotta start by asking yourself what you like best when you’re reading smut. nono wait back up. first you gotta read A LOT of smut. no, more. however much you’re thinking, probably more. then you gotta figure out what your favorite parts are and why.

now. on a more individual note. every author’s smut is different and personal because everything author’s writing is different and personal and smut is in some ways even more personal, right? (don’t stop making plums) so what you’re writing will always look different. but here are some things that have worked for me and maybe they can provide a good space for you to start exploring how you want your smut to look. (warning for late-night first-draft rambling ahead)

for me, there are two parts to what makes smut satisfying (again, this is personal preference).

the first is when the smut is very rooted in an emotional core — specifically, the characters and their motivations. what does each character want? if it’s only an orgasm, why is it only an orgasm? if it’s more than an orgasm, what is it and why? and what does that look like?

sunshine-reader in sunshine wants a playful one-night stand but is incapable of not offering warmth. rocket in the same narrative wants connection because he’s rocket and never feels connected enough. their connection is warm and open because (they think) it’s low-risk and short-lived.

pearl-reader in wyndham/cicatrix wants to exercise autonomy for once in her damn life. rocket/“the monster” in wyndham/cicatrix wants revenge-sex. both of these two are grappling with their own versions of grief and that shows through in their motivations too (at least id like to think so).

in window, sex between jo and rocket looks different when it’s their first time versus when rocket’s trying to coerce her into taking up more space versus when jo is spiraling as they head back to terra, because the goals and motivations are always different.

knowing your characters’ motivations for sex, the way they’re trying to communicate with each other, and their outside-the-bedroom neuroses can also help make sense of kinks, too. in my imagination, rocket always has control issues (especially mcu rocket tbh) because of his historical lack of control and what it means for him to be under someone else’s power. (but i also see him with a complicated/conflicted praise kink a la adorations because he wants to believe nice things about himself while also not believing them, or not believing compliments are genuine).

all of the above is the philosophical part of smut — the emotional core that makes smut more satisfying for me personally as a reader. after that, we get into the technical writing-shit. i think, much like actual sex, the pay-off is better if you savor the journey. so at least for me, that means writing beyond just pinched nips, grinding, penetration. it means taking time to explore the way it feels to be touched in even the mundane parts of our bodies: different textures, pressures, etc.

for example, a claw prickling over the inner flesh of the forearm is not explicitly sexual but. i mean. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ or is it. you know?

another thing for me is to focus on detail. when our senses are overwhelmed we tend to focus on very specific details: the light coming through the window, the stroke of the back of the knuckles on your shoulder, the scent of the pillow. you could say “then she reached orgasm” or you could say “she squeezed her eyes tight. the crackle of electricity in her abdomen snapped taut, and then broke apart in a shower of sparks.” you could say someone was spanked, or you could say there was a crack in the air, and a stinging heat bloomed on their asscheek. don’t just say what happened — say what it felt like, what it looked like, what it smelled and sounded and tasted like. (i mean sometimes you gotta just say what happened or the scene can get too dense…but overall, i opt for relying on sensory description over exposition).

the rest imo is window dressing. are there certain phrases or words you particularly like to read or hear? are you someone who loves or hates the word “pussy” or “dick”? would you rather avoid explicit terms all together, or use them often? or sporadically, for impact?

anyway. like i said these are just my initial late-night first-draft thoughts so they might be rough and they ARE just things that have helped ME (everyone has different thoughts/ideas on this!) but i hope maybe this is a helpful place to start??? also if any of this did not make sense i apologize i am sleepy just lmk and i am happy to expand/clarify

Unpopular headcanon?

Here's the thing, I don't hear people talking about him much nor do I hear people's headcanons on the guy (since most tend to headcanon the main fellas and forget the icon) so I don't exactly know what's classed as unpopular. So let's be silly and just say a headcanon and I guess I'll find out if its unpopular or not :)

This randomly popped into my head. So we all know Conrad worked for WSP on Fireball XL3 (if u didn't well now u know 🫶) and so he probably knows some of the fireball xl5 crew. I firmly believe that Conrad does not get along with Steve. It isn't ye olde classic of 'Conrad is a dark grumpy guy so he hates people and is a loner and hates Steve cause Steve is good positive guy.' It's not that. I don't really know what it is. He gets on with literally everyone else but just happens to bump heads with Steve. Even the mention of Mr Zodiac has him rolling his eyes. (Woop de wee wow this is becoming an essay).

A scene that made me love/hate the character.

Now I'm gonna have to go with NCS Conrad cause let's be honest, old Conrad doesn't do that much, he makes Scott Tracy look useful. Comic and NCS Conrad put in the damn work. I ain't gonna talk about comic Conrad cause he's too silly and pretty (not that NCS Conrad isn't that) and I don't wanna go in to the depths. So NCS we go. And I gotta say best of enemies. I get it's not a scene but u seriously cannot split this ep' up like that. It shows the depth of the guy in and out oy mysteronisation. I think this is the first time we see this switch, from cold mysteron to who the guy really is. Like alot of people perceive Conrad to be this grumpy bastard that doesn't like anyone (which is fake news guys) this guy is so passionate with others, especially with destiny, this guy is in love and any chance be breaks free he asks if she is okay. We see his relationship with Paul and how close their friendship is/was. He's such a complex character and I'd love the psychoanalyse him and write an essay but maybe not at this very moment. I think alot of people need to think about Conrad (and other characters) in a more complex way cause there is so much this guy has to offer. Also the EP was good cause he said 'hows this for collateral' and that was iconic.

Imagine if WSP got popular enough to somehow get those toxic bigoted fans who are like, "GRAHHH, THOSE QUEERS ARE RUINING EVERYTHING!!!" Kinda like the ones that somehow exist in the JoJo fandom.

Well...not that it should happen. Those guys would freak out if they found out that some of my main characters are in canonical same-sex relationships and that many others are trans.
