#Book number 1 in the #19booksin2019 #challenge #WrittenInStone A Modern #History of #Curling by @leftbutton I haven’t been in the mood to #read this year which I hope doesn’t continue because then I’d really be in trouble trying to keep up w/ @kellystrona in the #19booksin2019challenge I got this book at the #ContCup19 merch store and was glad #BrianChick was nice enough to sign it between games—I threw it and my Sharpie over the railing from the stands, I tried my best not to assault his chest the way I did a certain Swedish skip w/ a gift a couple days before... He signed, and threw the book and Sharpie right back 😂 TBH I wasn’t sure reading a book about curling was a good idea after the heartbreak and disappointment I felt after the Continental Cup, but the book kept me company during the Hunger Games marathon today in between napping & nursing sore joints and muscles from dance and swim... Still dealing w/ a bit of #depression & having a hard time getting back on track w/ the whole #teamfatass #loseanolsentwin #sdccstarvationdiet project. Just scraped the bottom of a Nutella jar from Costco so hopefully I’m done eating my feelings... My three favorite parts of the book were: Glenn Howard and Wayne Middaugh, Broomgate, and every single instance @bennyheebz makes an appearance. I’ve never met Glenn or Wayne, but I have met Benny and the way he appears in the book sounds just like he is in real life—from referring to @niklasedin as Nikki to calling everyone and their moms, including himself dicks, it truly sounded like the Benny we know and love 😂 I appreciated the YouTube links as footnotes, maybe in the future I’d actually consult them... I can’t wait to read Kevin Martin’s tell-all to see his side of the story as there were things hinted at in the book... How did you spend your #sunday ? Did you have a good #weekend ?
