I was so taken by those stairs that Jay-Works submitted this morning, that I just felt that the house was something special. Never have I been attracted to any other death stairs. Coincidentally, I was browsing thru one of my favorite online mag’s this afternoon, “The Wealden Times,” and lo and behold, there it was!

Alistair Hendy, the owner, is a chef, writer and photographer. After five years of painstaking restoration he has succeeded in returning his 16th century merchant’s house in Hastings Old Town, UK, to its pared-back Tudor glory.

He calls it the Christmas House b/c he opens it to the public in December. Entering the house straight into the drawing room, its sizeable inglenook, stone floor and wood paneled walls stand out.

Alastair brought his log store inside, so there’s a plentiful supply of bone-dry logs to stoke the open fires.

In rooms where candle light isn’t enough, he installed simple lighting in the form of adjustable pendants.

The shutters are rarely open b/c Alastair doesn’t like to see the modern street. Sunlight illuminates wisps of smoke that swirl from the open fires.

After peeling back centuries of updating, it has a pared down, utilitarian look and even the fixtures and fittings look as they might have when they were first installed.

Previous owners actually did more harm than good, modernizing in a pedestrian and thoughtless way, adding carpets and curtains and other urbane fixtures and fripperies. “It’s been more of a re-creation than a restoration project,” says Alastair.

Mod cons like plumbing and lighting are cunningly concealed out of sight in the rest of the house, but hints of modern-day living and appliances can be seen in the kitchen.

Alastair’s remarkable and imaginative conversion of the kitchen area, which was once a little tv room.

Alastair is also trained in theater and costume design so all the additions are meticulously executed, like the set of an elaborate production.

You can see where the floor has been lowered and the ‘new’ stair carefully slotted into an original beam.

The kitchen and dining room are situated in the rear wing of the house that was used as a mortuary, right up until the 1950s.

And, here they are- the stairs.

This is the pretty room we glimpsed from the stairs.

Alistair’s vision and hard work have gone into creating a house so interesting and atmospheric that it’s turned into a tourist attraction.

The Xmas decorations are subtle and understated, and also have a European feel.

The main bedroom has a raised bed enclosed by wood paneling and shutters.

The bathroom furnishings are from many different countries and periods, but they all share the same raw simplicity.

In the attic bathroom, is an original bathtub lined with lead. Its sheer weight meant that the floor had to be reinforced to safely support it.

Happy Holidays, my lovely elves and reindeers! Hope you got yourself some hot chocolate with some marshmallows and gingerbread cookies with you because we have another challenge for you all! As some of you know, it’s December, my birthday month! If you’d like to do a special fic for me, feel free to message me and you can work from there (Will add the day of my birthday if you’d like to gift it on the day of it). As always, I’m grateful to have you all gathered here, I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with your families! This is my first time celebrating my birthday on Tumblr so it’s going to be a nice thing to do.

Christmas in June

It was summer in Novum Chaldea, and Rex was alone in his room listening to music. Eventually, a Christmas song played. Rex enjoyed Christmas music, regardless of the time of year. But the subject of Christmas got him thinking of the most recent Christmas escapade, when his wife Quetzalcoatl was that year's Santa.

It was a crazy adventure. Somehow the special "Christmas grail" had split her apart into kind and scary versions. The scary Black Quetzal mask took possession of the grail and used it to set up a huge lucha match to decide who gets to be Santa.

Thinking back on those events Rex was... annoyed. Christmas was a VERY special time of year for both him and Quetzalcoatl, and the idea of her being that year's Santa was amazing, but it was almost stolen away from her. At the time he was angry at the servants who tried to steal it away from his wife, it was unforgivable. Bunyan was one of the few he wasn't angry with, as she was manipulated by Edison so she was seen as innocent.

But Rex was especially angry with the previous Santas, even if they already had a chance they seemed to try and take it away from his wife. "You already had your turn! And you try to take her chance away from her?! UNFORGIVABLE!!!" He took it very seriously. The memories were soured by her chance almost being stolen away. In the final match-up when he had to sub in for Bradamante, the other Quetz couldn't bring herself to fight him, leading to surprisingly the easiest victory. But if that hadn't happened, then who knows how things would've ended.

And the worst part? That was her one chance. For whatever reason, a servant can only be Santa once, or at least they cannot repeat it two years in a row. But thanks to circumstances outside of either of their control, things almost turned out horribly. They thankfully did turn out for the better at the end, but Rex was still angry. "She deserves another chance" he thought to himself. "To hell with the rules! Only she should be Santa!"

Eventually, Rex decided to go and get the Christmas Grail, to see if he could ensure that only she gets to be Santa for as many years as possible. He wasn't sure of how, but he was determined none the less. But then he bumped into her.

*bump!*

Quetz: oh! Mi amor! Where are you going?

Rex: ...I'm going to go get the Christmas Grail.

Quetz: que? What for?

Rex: last Christmas... it was your turn to be Santa... but everything was almost ruined by things outside of our control and it's not fair! You deserve at least one more shot at being Santa!

Quetz: oh mi amor...

She embraced him in a big hug

Quetz: don't be angry mi amor, things still turned out well in the end.

Rex: I know but... you almost lost the chance to be Santa to some of the other servants! That isn't fair!

Quetz: it's ok mi amor, we still came out on top! And don't forget the happy memories we did manage to make afterwards.

Rex: ...

Quetz: flying around the world with the Quetzalcoatluses, delivering presents and bringing smiles to people all over the world.

Rex: ...

Quetz: and when we came home, we sat by the fireplace and shared eggnog together. It was a very good Christmas mi amor. Please don't let the bad times cloud your memories.

Rex, tearing up a bit: I know but...

Quetz: tell you what mi amor, next year you and me can skip the events. We'll let the twins and Mash help the next Santa, while you and me can make Christmas memories on our own with me as your personal Santa!

Rex: ...

Quetz: how's that sound?

Rex: it sounds... muy bien.

Quetz: that's more like it! Now smile mi amor! Even if isn't Christmas just yet, you should still smile!

Rex wiped the tears away: gracias mi corazon. You always know how to make me feel better.

Quetz: of course mi amor! How about we just sit in bed and listen to Christmas music? All this talk of Christmas has got me in a festive mood!

Rex: sure! That sounds good!

A/N: this was something that was gonna get brought up eventually. The events of that last Xmas event still feel somewhat unfair for her, but she wouldn't see it that way. Besides, the two can still make more good Xmas memories on their own.

Wtfock Fanfic Recommends

Hey there Fockers (see what I did 🙊)

I am doing this genre first because haters are gonna hate and I just want to dispel all the negative connotations now and sage all the bad vibes out of the tag because god knows we need to sage our household aka the wtfock/wtfam tag. Be gone, bad spirits (and before I get hate I am not talking about those critiquing the poor behavior of the tag am talking about those throwing around the “f” word when it’s not even the right word to use in this context). If you want to find out what is the right word please read this insanely articulate post from Skamsnake about the creative process around explicit fic writing.

Okay, take a seat and let's get lost in the sauce.

Let’s chit chat about some real shit. Those damn written words that are keeping us hydrated during the Wtfock drought.

**Update: Going forward I will be rating my reviews via the MPA(USA) filming rating system out. However please take in mind I am no expert and culture matters. I may be being overly cautious but the genre that follows is rated NC-17 in its entirety. **

Fanfic Genre: Erotica/New Adult fiction Tagged under Explicit in Ao3 (or known by its street name: smut) Fic count AOT (as of today): 62

Genre Definition (provided by wikipedia): Fiction similar to YA that can be published and marketed as adult—a sort of an 'older YA' or 'new adult. New adult fiction tends to focus on issues such as leaving home, developing sexuality, and negotiating education and career choices.

This tag barely makes it out of the 20’s without these next four writers so we need to put some respect on their names and spotlight their “best of”.

Skamtrash/ @vearthling (14 MotherFing fics)

Your catalog is so damn extensive its hard to choose but I have to go with my personal fav because am a sucker for an aged up celebrity rock star Sander falling in love with a dark hair boy amongst the crowd. We got plot, romance, a hot and steamy recording session. It's fluffy smut but also kinda of romantic. This one is my personal fav.

Ok and since the crowd has clearly spoken on Ao3 if you want something that puts the E in explicit and has 10k hits, check out this fic. I actually like this work too mainly because it has a pretty endearing follow-up with Milan and Jens/Aaron just embarrassing Robbe after a not so discreet quickie session during the Wtfock Xmas party.

JesseLBlack (Double digit Spanish fic Queen)

I am so excited to shout out this dark horse. She is such a machine and an absolutely amazing writer even though all her work is in Spanish. I just want people to appreciate her contributions. If you can read spanish and enjoy a good sneaking around session while the parents are at home this is the one for you.

Also I have no idea how this woman found my kink but she did and that's good punctuation especially in Spanish. Like just stop it, my eyes can’t take seeing so many virgulilla used properly in written form. I felt attacked.

Zaddy Skam/ @zaddyskam

If you haven’t connected the dots yet Zaddy is our long time Anonymous contributor to the Ao3 tag. This fic selection may seem like a random choice but I enjoy Zaddy first fic the most Woensdag 16:36.

If you’re a sucker for an in canon fic that creates a little more narrative and fills in the gaps to the original story then this is the fic for you. Plus I like that it's not super smutty mainly because it shows control and range. Its easy to reach for the usual tropes in explicit fics but this fic really turns this genre on its head with suggestive erotica then presenting the actual act itself. Its just really well crafted and also gives an option to those who want a little erotica but don’t want to dive deep into the pool.

SkamSnake/ @skamsnake (A legend amongst legends and one half of what inspired the infamous Dinsdag 14:17)

I mean what can be said when the actual wtfock writers are adopting your own ideas into their content. You gotta be doing something right. Here is it what I believe is one half of what I feel inspired parts of Dinsdag 14:17.

FYI: Snakes Omega fic counts under the ABO tag and will be discussed when I get to adoptive “world” fics.

Tokyometropolis/ @luludemauryyy (The other half of what inspired the infamous Dinsdag 14:17)

Video phone is almost eerie to read now having seen Dinsdag 14:17 & Dinsdag 23:12. They are parts of video phone that I literally feel were ripped out of the fic and put onto screen even some dialogue quirks are recognizable. Its a huge testament to the skill of this fic. Also, I truly believe the 2nd chapter of this fic is some of this writer's best fic writing. I see a ton of rhythm and play with cadence and that angsty tonality. I can’t rave enough about video phone chapter 2 its so well thought out. Give it a read and let me know what you think wtfock borrowed out of this fic for the big screen.

Midsummernightoddity

I mean is it smut? or is it just excessive fluff while making love? I think the latter. If you want gooey I mean chocolate syrup style love making gooey this is your baby. It’s Robbe’s first time and it’s wrapped up in a ton of emotions. I enjoyed it and definitely made me get a little teary it was so damn sweet. If you love, love, then this is your fic.

They gave us one fic and one fic only but damn they did give us a good one. Are you a slave to in-canon writing? Ever wonder what happened in that 3 hour time slot in the infamous hotel from when Sander and Robbe entered the hotel room till the shower scene, well this fic will fill in all the blanks.

Bruh. Okay so its a thing™️ and i don’t want to spoil it for you but that man is Garcia Flynn, stealing a time machine to try to save his family, don’t we all love that. But he kinda goes about it in the bad guy way. And of course he looks hot doing it.

So the show had one season. Got canceled. Fans where like no! So it got a second season. Got canceled again. Fans said no again. They waited for the actors contracts to expire and some time to pass and then they were like ohh we’ll give you a two hour Xmas like special so yall can have closure.

We did not.

Basically one ship pairing was louder and more in control(in the writers room) and so the other pairing(with Flynn who deserved so much better) was like oh hey here’s a little snack and now lets take it away.

Theres some saltyness if you couldn’t tell.

But it is a good show with a good story with flaws(like most shows are)

But if you wanna watch for him he do be lookin fine in every episode.

OH HE HAS AN ACCENT!

BTS as... ‘ordinary’ employees

Okay so when I say ‘ordinary’ I mean as in not famous basically. This is more what I just have personally imagined them doing and I think I’ve lost that somewhat ‘realistic’ touch I used to have a few years back when I was more of an avid writer for this blog and could have an idea of their actual personalities, current likes, etc. This is also in no way a reflection of what I think they are and aren’t capable of so please don’t scream at me if your bias has a ‘lower’ role than you might have expected.

Sorry I do like to blabber on before these things, don’t I?

Pawn Shop Sales Assistant

learning everything about every thing

if you have an object to sell for cash

he probably knows everything about it

or at least like a lot about it

his career is in early days right now

because it’s a family trade

but he learns from the best

but asks not to be favourited over other staff just because he’s the manager’s son

like you know he wants someone to tell him if they think he didn’t get a good deal for that ring

no special treatment please

sometimes uses a bit of the old charm to get a good deal

many girls like that

some of the guys not so much

especially the boyfriends

whoops

meets his wife there

she’s a fairly regular customer

buying good finds from charity shops

or finding stuff in the house

and taking them to the pawn shop to get by and save up a little

they really click

after like the 11th visit he finally plucks up the courage to ask her out

“so, uh... I clock off soon and I was wondering if....

uh....”

and he gets quite flustered because he really likes her

“... would you like to maybe grab a coffee with me?”

and she sort of teases him to fluster him

“I don’t like coffee”

“Oh erm....”

“Just kidding”

and inside he’s like “don’t DO that to me!”

fast forward a few years and he’s got a kid with her

but anyway back to joon as an employee

has many many friends in and around the industry

just people over the years who he’s needed to contact to double check some stuff about an item

sometimes there’s the odd nutter who comes into the shop

like any shop really let’s be honest

but oddly enough, Namjoon has a calming effect on them

maybe he’s just really patient

maybe he has great negotiating skills

but if someone kicks off at one of his colleagues

it’s resolved in under ten - fifteen minutes

he reasons with people who are shocked to find out that their gold isn’t actually real gold

or negotiates with those who thought they had something worth more

or sometimes just has to outright sass back at the aggressive ones

but most people find him to be an agreeable guy

banter with his dad / manage

rand although he gets on with everyone there

there’s that one colleague that just becomes his best mate

and this mate is also in on the banter

but again, there’s no staff feeling left out or not getting the same treatment

it’s a family business

and anyone that helps them along the way is family too

in a big supermarket

stacking shelves

helps customers that can’t reach the higher shelves

such a gentleman

lovely customer service

some wish they could give him a tip

but he wouldn’t take it most of the time even if it was allowed

he doesn’t need to be paid to show basic kindness

it’s just manners really

but he doesn’t fully realise how much he goes above and beyond

very patient at explaining stuff to people

he’ll repeat directions 10 times if he has to

and he helps the elderly make smarter shopping choices

not that his manager knows that though

because he’s supposed to focus on building up bigger transactions

but what can he say

he’s just a people person

empathy and understanding levels are like 1000/10

a good bean

wish you could be served by him all the time

people purposely queue up at his lane when he’s on tills

because he just provides a friendly smile

and pleasant conversation

“how was your day?”

and he’s not saying it because he has to

he’s genuinely interested in what everybody has to say

takes forever but becomes a supervisor

some of his workers often mistake his kindness for dumbness

is that a word, ‘dumb...ness’?

but actually he more than knows what he’s doing

cashes up faster than anyone else ever

has solid ideas to help both business and customer

and whilst it’s a bit difficult getting them out there to higher people

they go for it

from ideas about what customers have previously asked for that the store doesn’t - didn’t - have

to community projects courtesy of tokens from shoppers

even a park that gets set up nearby is named after him

he may seem like just a sales guy to an outsider

but really he’s the heart of the local community

the funniest you could come across

you know, if you were listening in to the way he deals with some

just pay attention and there won’t be any problems

sometimes he’ll have those days where he’s like

*sigh*

“Have you tried turning it off and on again?”

totally not an IT Crowd reference oops

but seriously that can work like half the time

used to work in some dull office

but took his work to his house

he can basically work wherever and whenever he wants now

as long as he’s got a laptop and a connection

that is the one change he made in his life that made him a lot happier

because although some might turn their noses up to a job like this

it suits him down to the bone

and he doesn’t really care to change career paths any time soon

is up to date with all the tech trends

owns one of everything

well most things

so as you can imagine, sales are always good

i'm kinda disappointed that Gloria and Remy didn't have a big role in the Christmas special aside from cameos, did you plan more for them in the special that was cut out later

Good question but actually, we did not have more planned with Gloria and Remy. But I’ll tell you why...

Writing is 50% you doing what you want, and 50% the story telling you what it needs in order to properly execute what you want (does that even make sense? I’m on cold medication...). Since we decided we wanted this Christmas special to be centered around Cricket and Tilly’s differing opinions on the true meaning of Christmas, every other decision we made needed to support this goal.

With limited screen time, you have to let your story priorities dictate who gets the most attention. So, the most important part of the episode was Cricket and Tilly’s relationship story. Second priority is the story between Bill and Nancy & Gramma. And since it’s a musical, we knew there needed to be a big opening and finishing number, plus at least one “solo�� song for both Cricket and Tilly.

The remaining screen time goes towards less “important” things like cameos (including Gloria and Remy) and other boxes we wanted to check: an appearance by Santa, some funny Christmas cameos (Elf on a shelf, the Peanuts reference, a nod to old stop-motion xmas specials), and also we knew there had to be a blizzard! What kind of Christmas special would it be without an act 3 blizzard?!

This is the type of thinking we’re constantly doing in the writer’s room and throughout the storyboarding process. Each episode can only contain so much, so everyone needs to know exactly what the priority list is for every episode. Not only does it (hopefully) create for exciting and heartfelt episodes, but it helps limit the thousands of creative choices that must be made.

This is a long way of saying, Remy and Gloria were on screen for the appropriate amount of time due to our team’s story priority list.

A song you listen to every(other) day -- None specifically, but lots that I would, if they came on the radio. First one that springs to mind is Bron Yr Aur Stomp by Led Zeppelin, which is such an upbeat, feel-good song.

One couple you wish have been canon in your favorite show -- HOUSE AND CAMERON

One book you wish would be turned into a movie/show -- I’d love a TV show based on The Dark Is Rising series by Susan Cooper. They did do a movie of the first book, but really screwed it up by making the main character and his family American instead of British, which made no sense at all since the series is deeply rooted in British myth and history.

Your favorite type of shoe to wear -- Converse All-Stars in warm weather, work/hiking boots in cool.

That one song you hum subconsciously -- can’t think of any

Are dressing for Halloween? As What? -- Nope. Only dressed up once since I was a kid, when the library I used to work at encouraged staff to do so one year; I did a homemade Pied Piper outfit

The last Youtube video you saw.-- maybe the one where some people were playing medieval music while doing some basic dance steps in their living room

What was the last thing you got angry about? -- the fact that the e. coli outbreak is probably due to Trump repealing the law requiring farm water testing

The last horror movie you watched. -- Normally I avoid horror like the plague, but got sucked into watching The Dark because I was crushing hard on Sean Bean at the time. It was very creepy and terrifying if you like that sort of thing; would recommend.

Summary: You’re attending Marvel’s annual Holiday Party rather begrudgingly, and the night seems to be a lame one until you realize that a certain Tom Hiddleston has made you a stocking with all of your favorite things inside. Small cameo by ScarJo & Chris Evans.

A/N: Phew! Day 5 of this challenge with just a minute to spare until midnight! ;) I literally wrote this in pieces throughout the day today and just fell in love with this idea. I’ll be dreaming about Tom making me a stocking for Christmas all night... Anon/V I really hope you enjoy this one, thank you for requesting it! I had a blast writing it. :) xoxo

The most wonderful time of the year, my ass. You thought to yourself for the hundredth time that night. Ordinarily, the song was right - Christmas was your most favorite time of year – the snow, the music, late night chats by the fire with good food, cocoa, and even better company. But this year, oh man, this year had been mapping out to be one of the worst and weirdest Christmases ever.

It’s not that things weren’t good for you. Things were fine, to be clear. You’d landed your first real gig in the upcoming Infinity War movie and your career was finally taking off. You’d made friends with Scar, Seb, both Chris’s, and the like… but something about L.A. just wasn’t settling well with you. Maybe it was the fact that there was no snow on the ground (not at all what you were used to around Christmastime, being from Ohio), or maybe it was the fact that it was 80 degrees yesterday, or maybe… just maybe…it was that you had to attend this year’s annual Marvel Holiday Party with a certain Englishman who hated you.

…Yeah, that was probably it.

“Hey, Y/N.” Scarlett pulled you away from your thoughts, bringing you back into the room where the party was finally starting to get some life to it. “Didn’t see you come in. Beer?” She asked, holding one out in offering.

“Hey, Scar. Nah, I’ll pass. Gotta drive home later.” You say, though in reality your refusal of the alcoholic beverage had nothing to do with the driving home aspect and more to do with the fact that your nerves were wreaking havoc on your stomach and you weren’t sure you could handle the buzz that a few beers would bring. Better to just avoid it altogether.

“You sure it’s because you have to drive home and not because of a certain someone, whose name rhymes with bomb?” Scar sees right through you and raises a brow, assessing you beneath her cool eyes.

“No comment.” You scowl as Scar smirks.

“And what are a buncha gorgeous ladies like you doin’ in a place like this?” Chris’ Bostonian accent rang loud and clear as he slung his arms sloppily around both you and Scar’s shoulders, his heavy, muscular body weighing you down just slightly.

“You a little drunk there, bud?” You ask, grinning. A drunk East Coaster, now that’s what you were used to around the holidays. Right up your alley.

“Not drunk, just merry.” Chris drawled out the word, flashing you a lopsided grin.

And the night continued like that: you joking with Chris and Seb, and Scarlett’s cold commentary hilariously sprinkled throughout. Through the night, you had happily managed to avoid the Englishman who paid no attention to you, and instead insisted on being the most gracious host known to man. Ensuring everyone had a drink in hand at all times, had enough food, was warm enough and not bored, etc. You almost admired how gracious and warm he was – that was, until he would lock eyes with you and his smile would fade slowly to a thin set line.

You sighed. You almost admired him. Leaning over to grab your coat, you almost successfully had it on and were about to head out the door before Scar stopped you, her hand gently resting on your shoulder.

“I think you’re forgetting something.” She said quietly, nodding towards the tree. You furrowed your brows, not understanding what she was saying. Scar rolled her eyes, nudging you towards it, where Tom was standing – laughing heartily at someone’s joke. His features looked radiant against the light coming from the fireplace.

You swallowed hard and did as Scar suggested – slowly walking towards the tree. Tom’s eyes flickered to yours from the movement, only momentarily, before continuing his conversation with whomever he was talking to. As you approached the tree – you saw what Scarlett was talking about. Your eyes widened as they settled on the lettering in disbelief.

“Does that stocking have my name on it?” You blurt out rather loudly, interrupting Tom’s conversation. Tom hesitated, before excusing himself from the small group and joining you by the tree.

“It isn’t polite to interrupt, you know.” He scolded, folding his arms across his chest as he towered over you. Not menacingly, just tall. You’d never noticed how tall he actually was because he always kept a solid three to five feet distance between the two of you at minimum. At all times. Now, you were well aware of how tall he was – and how good he smelled – and it was messing with your brain.

“I don’t need a lesson in manners.” You snap after a minute, bending over to pick up the stocking in question. “Is this for me?” You ask incredulously.

Tom shifted slightly and ran his hand across the back of his neck. Was he feeling uncomfortable? Tom was never uncomfortable.

“It’s just a small tradition we have within the Marvel family. The host always gives the cast their own stocking filled with a few small gifts.”

You gape at him, not believing your ears. “You mean to tell me that you filled this stocking with stuff that I actually like? Or did you just run to the dollar tree and grab anything you could find?”

“How cheap do you think I am, Y/N?” It was Tom’s turn to roll his eyes, and a small hiss of disapproval came from his mouth.

You grimaced, not meaning to offend. “Sorry, sorry. I didn’t mean it like that I’m just… surprised.”

Tom scratched the back of his neck again, and shrugged his shoulders. “Like I said earlier. It’s tradition.”

“Yeah, but, it’s not like you had to do it, you could have just not given me one.”

“That wouldn’t be fair…nor would that be very neighborly of me.” Tom counters, the corners of his mouth bending into a slight frown.

“You’re not my neighbor.” You say, though a small smile plays at your lips.

“Touché.” Tom shifted his weight awkwardly, his word just hanging in the air for a moment. “Well, er, I’ll let you open that and see you later.”

“Sure,” You say, glancing up to meet his cool blues, locking eyes with him for the first time, well… ever. “See you later.”

As he walks away, you sit down next to the fire, beginning to pull apart out item that Tom had put into the stocking for you. For being so cavalier about the situation – he sure had managed to get you everything you had sincerely loved. Things that you had discussed on set with other people, secrets you thought only your core cast of friends knew about… yet Tom had somehow managed to bottle it up into this stocking perfectly.

You snap your head up, searching for him wildly. How had he known what to get you? How had this stocking been put together so perfectly? For a man who claimed to hate you, he sure did pay a lot of attention to your likes and dislikes.

Finally spotting him across the room, he locks eyes with you, glancing from the gifts in your hand, then back up to your glowing eyes. You know he can’t hear you, so you just kind of point at them awkwardly, mouthing a “How?” with an inquisitive gesture to go with it.

Tom just smiles at you and gives a small shrug before mouthing, “Happy Christmas.”

And a happy Christmas it had turned out to be, indeed.

VMHQ’s Holiday Fic Grab Bag - PROMPT LIST!!

Ho, Ho, Ho! Our list of Holiday Fic Prompts was delivered by reindeer mail this morning, and we’re ready to share them with all the Veronica Mars fanfic writers, GIFmakers, artists, and... well, anyone who wants to create something for them.

Remember, post all of your offerings to the A03 collection by December 23rd. The collection will open for your reading and enjoyment (anonymously) on the morning of December 24th and then authors/creators will be revealed on January 1st!

So, without further ado, and in no particular order, THE LIST:

Logan and Veronica and a secret santa!

Logan and Veronica snowbound strangers who have to keep each other warm. Bonus points if they don’t like each other much at first and then find out how they are so much more than first impressions (and then hook up).

During An Echolls Family Christmas - Logan and Veronica and accidental kissing.

College AU. Logan and Veronica - Logan meets Keith for the first time during the holidays. There’s nervousness, making out, and Keith trying to accept his little girl isn’t so little anymore.

During S2, Logan is feeling down after watching the tapes of Lilly, and Veronica is feeling down with Wallace gone and everything sucking. They somehow meet and spend the Holidays together and things get better.

Logan and Veronica fall in love during a (crazy) Holiday party. This one can be AU.

Mac is tired of her family asking about her love life so she brings Dick to Christmas dinner as her pretend boyfriend.

LoVe and Holiday horror (As in Krampus and other Holiday horror movies, but no killer snowmen because come on). Just want to see if anyone can come up with something for this one.

Logan and Veronica meet at a Christmas party and hook up for the first time.

LoVe as an established couple (can include other pairings) and they spend the holidays with the parents. Can be AU if they are meeting the parents for the first time. Comedy if possible (as plenty of Holiday movies do - Ex. Meet the parents).

LoVe’s first Christmas together (after reuniting in the film), including the run up to the actual day.

Weevil is desperate to find a sold out doll for his daughter --the only item on Valentina’s Christmas list-- and he enlists Logan’s help to track down this important present.

Lilly gives Logan to Veronica as a Christmas present.

LoVe during S3 - they don’t break up so they spend their first Holidays together!

Veronica is a waitress in a New York diner, trying to pay her way through law school. She has to work Christmas Eve - it’s just her and the cook and no customers until Logan walks in to spend a lonely, glum holiday.

LoVe find themselves stranded in the airport and can't make it to their holiday celebrations. They find each other instead. Romance ensues :)

In An Echolls Family Christmas, Weevil calls Veronica when the money first goes missing, and she shows up to find all the boys in their underwear. “When did Logan get so ripped?”

It's the season of countless movies about saving Xmas! So what if the Vmars characters have to do the same? Can you combine the noir of Neptune with the silly Xmas shenanigans that are required to save the holiday? idk, i’m of two minds about the way new music production techniques are affecting music. on one hand i think it’s delightful and incredible that music production is so much more accessible than it used to be - you can literally write, record, and produce an entire album on a single little laptop! but on the other hand, i think that like…the sheer immediacy of that can sometimes be so tempting that you go, throw a filter over it, yeah! rather than maybe trying to figure out what doesn’t work. i just read his interview with billboard and even if he hadn’t mentioned lorde and chance the rapper by name, i’d have cited those two as references.

so again, me just getting into what i like vs. what i don’t like: i love all 3 of chance’s mixtapes (or 5 w/the xmas ones), but i don’t like melodrama. i think chance has SUCH a good grasp of what works! everything is held in balance. but on this song and all of lorde’s album, everything sounds so washed out to me; the music is blanketed under a heavy layer of deliberately off-putting, obfuscating synth. and i don’t feel that way about all synth, because i also love both of bleachers’ records. idk, i think that when it works all of the special effects and layers and postproduction techniques ought to make a musician’s message more resonant and humane, even if it sounds very technologically impacted. with guys like james bay and nick petricca whose voices are so distinct and heartfelt, the same techniques that other artists utilize to strengthen their voices don’t necessarily have the same effect on them. there’s this incredible write-up on chance’s song for ali, ‘i was a rock,’ in GQ, and the writer recalls,
