Heyyyyy Tumblr people. On Jan 2nd, 2025, I awoke to my car missing. When I called it in, the cops had already been notified of a trashed, abandoned car matching my vehicle description...

Some kids, to my best knowledge, busted my window and hotwired my car, ran over city signs with it, leaving pieces of it all over the boulevard. Then they took it up into the hills, and drove it til they wrecked into a mountainside. Then proceeded to stomp, destroy, bust and rip out every window, panel, bumper and electrical. And slashed the tires of course.

I'm just a line cook. This car was my only asset of value, and happened right in my hometown. Even if i can lead the cops to who did it (because they aren't looking on their own...) I won't get $ for a car (my insurance was liability only...I needed a low bill) so I started a gofundme. It's a really crap way to start the new year, and that car is the only NEW thing I had ever owned; it would be 10 years this August since I bought it and it only had 10k miles on it from a lease. When it was destroyed, I had 165k miles on that baby. So I'm just asking, if you have read this far, please share if you cant donate or please let people know!

Whenever I’d dive past an accident on the freeway, I’d always grumble at the fact I have to drive 40kms/h past the cops, wondering what idiot caused this. Never did I think I would one day be in that situation. Was on my way to work this morning on the Eastlink when all of a sudden, a truck driver started to merge into my lane; RIGHT into me. I tried tooting but I guess he didn’t hear or see me, and he drove into the side of my car and spun me out of control. I did a complete 180 and skidded to the other side of the road, unscathed but shaken up. I managed to escape with no scratches, but my baby didn’t come out looking so pretty. At this stage, it’s probably unfixable, which breaks my heart. Not only is the Laser my first car, but it was given to me by my grandma. It’s pretty old, nearly 15 years of age, and it’s broken down on me a few times, but I do love this car. Fingers crossed it can still get fixed, but goes to show that car crashes can happen to anyone. Even though we’re supposed to be at home right now, if you have to go out, make sure you stay safe. It may be quieter out there, but in a way it makes the roads much more dangerous. Less traffic means more drivers think they can drive as freely as they want. Thankfully I wasn’t hurt. I hit a deer 🦌 a little over a week ago. I received a call from the adjuster telling me there was previous front end damage to my vehicle. I was never in an accident before with this vehicle. I did some digging to find out that while @toyotausa was in possession of my vehicle, between port and the dealership, it was involved in a front end collision. My front end was literally put back together with duct tape and shims. The cost to replace the apron on my vehicle is over $2000 which I will have to pay. I have called Toyota corporate affairs and they will not return my calls. I have been waiting to hear from them for almost a week. From what I understand this is a serious safety issue that Toyota did not disclose before I purchased the vehicle.
