Noticed something else from this first episode

When Crosshair says ‘make the call Hunter’, despite being fully convinced that shooting the people is what they need to do, at no point does he make any indication that he even considered disobeying Hunter

Brothers being good bros

One thing I noticed which had me pleasantly surprised, was how positive the dynamic was within the Dad Bad Batch.

[spoilers for episode 1 ahead]

Cross spends most of the runtime being a confrontational pain, pointing out Hunter's failing to follow orders. Though they do some mean staring at times...

Hunter never directly tells off or criticizes Cross. His leadership is never really in question, and when Cross goes and actually challenges it, Tech, Echo and Wrecker silently siding with Hunter diffuses everything. It's a sort of silent democracy, if you will.

In the food fight scene, it also turns into a chain of support. Omega takes an action, Wrecker backs her up, and the moment he's committed...

Hunter is immediately in the game. Echo facepalms and jumps at the nearest reg. Cross tries to stay out of it, to no avail.

And it's beautiful, wordless "us vs them". The first clone Cross downs is the one who just scored a punch on Tech.

Even after Cross has openly confronted Hunter in the brig, no one attacks him or shows any sign of open violence towards him. No one jabs fingers in his chest or scuffs him or shoves him. They just ask him wtf is going on with him.

Even as they acknowledge he's changes, even after an hour long episode of internal strife, Hunter still wants to go rescue him from wherever he's been taken, and no one blinks.

Of course they should rescue Cross, no matter how weirdly prickly he's been lately.

The look of dismay on Hunter's face when Cross comes out dressed in fresh armour tells it all.

And honestly this refreshing, non-toxic dynamic in a group of hardass men, is something I knew I wanted but had never dreamt of getting in a show like TBB. I hope it keeps up, and more:

I hope they rescue Crosshair. I hope we're spared the nonsense of "comes back to his senses just long enough to sacrifice himself" trope. I hope Cross gets his brothers' love to the bitter end, that they'll snatch him and dechip him, hug him and forgive everything without question.

I hope we get to see these two get closer.

Yes there are supposed to be parallels between how Cylinda looks and how motherboard looks.

Cylinda Boltz! And THEE Hacker! Her Hiero (because his name is Hieronymous and sometimes she just calls him Hiero for sure)

AND ONCE AGAIN, BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, cylinder has the same voice as Marcus Fenix from the Gears of War games. The exact same voice. I will keep mentioning this.

Forget cannon. I want the Bad Batch and the Ghost Crew to interact as a unit. Imagine it for a minute.

Omega and Ezra would get into so much trouble together(lets be honest, Chopper dragged them into it-) and Hunter and Kanan would HAVE to bond as dad's to watch them- Wreaker would LOVE Sabine and blow stuff up with her 110%. Tech and Hera would exchange pilot stories and Echo would be able to see Rex again :((

Crosshair and Kallus would probably hate each other. And I'm here for it. Zeb is a concerned but intrigued peacemaker(he has his money on Kallus ofc but... he's invested.... so is everyone else)

Perceptor would go to a Therapist or Psychologist to get help, and the psychologist would say, "Well, I don't see anything wrong with you. You function like a perfectly fine mech". And the Perceptor will go, "I guess my problems don't matter enough," and shrug. Then, forward a couple of centuries or smth, Perceptor has a full-blown Psychotic breakdown bc he has untreated C-PTSD, intense depression, anxiety, and a touch of autism that was never treated or checked.

genuinely the concept of mai is so. well someone has to be that be person and everyone ever in the whole wide world ever doesnt have to be that person but SHE has to be that person but it's not even random unluck bc it was always going to be her pre-scratch damara caused the scratch knowing it was going to be her but post-scratch damara isnt her and well See i'm not saying pre-scratch damara should go through what she kind of put her post-scratch self through or anything like its balls for her both times truly but just kind of like way more for damara2 imho.............. but that's just me damara1 was always going to cause the scratch bc it has to happen for blah blah blah but she did so and wanted to for the blah blah blah LE and like for all purposes it WAS her (prescratch damara) on the other side so she's making the choice abt herself they were literally the same baby they were born the same but now they're different. and prescratch damara decided to work w LE and caused the scratch knowing She would be theHis handmaid in the second iteration of the universe and since it Is Her she gets to choose that but it also but postscratch damara who kind of is not her didn't get a choice because she never had a choice bc of being number2 tough luck all around it sucks to tbe the handmaid homestuck
