unexpected.
after your planned date with tim takes an unexpected turn, you show him just how full of surprises you are…
Tumblr media
word count: <500
warnings: not proof read…i kinda raw dogged this :p no use of y/n
notes: omg first thing of writing on here…im an autobiographical writer, haven’t touched fanfic since i was like 10. with that being said if i proof read it i won’t have the guts to post it. there will be better writing on my blog i promise. also super late for valentine’s day but it rained when i love the day of and no other day of the week n i thought it was funny.
“You told me you checked the weather Tim.”
You had called your boyfriend to let him know that a picnic wasn’t going to work. As soon as you woke up, the noise of rain pattered on your apartment’s roof, hitting you with the reality that being outside wasn’t an option.
“I did! Today is the first time this month it’s rained! But uhhhh should we do the Mary’s?” He tried to remedy the situation with the Italian restaurant in your university neighborhood.
“We go there all the time, can we do something special since it’s Valentine’s Day baby?” You smiled into the phone receiver. You knew he melted into man pudding when you called him baby and used that tone.
“Oh uhh-“ evidence of your work, “Anything you want. Maybe the rink and then hot chocolate after?”
“It’s a date.” You smiled, perfect time to show Tim what he didn’t know about you on the ice.
❅ ❅ ❅
Tim came to pick you up, you made sure to put on a raincoat. Not only to protect yourself from getting soaked, but also to reveal your outfit to your boyfriend in the car.
“Oh look at you, expecting to get some laps in?” He joked at the expense of your lululemon attire
“I like my pink define jacket, thank you very much”
“Hey! I like it too, definitely…tight. Hugs the right pla-“ You slap him on the shoulder, “Ow! Do you even know how to skate babe?”
This was your moment. Should you lie and wow him? Or should you tell the truth and loose your novelty? You lie.
“No actually, you’ll have to teach me.”
“That’s great actually, then you can’t let go of me-“ he smiled like an idiot before you interrupted him
“Don’t push it”
“Yes ma’am”
❅ ❅ ❅
You try not to be suspicious. ‘Act like you’re nervous, get shaky the first few minutes-‘
“Hey babe, need help with your skates?” Tim is an angel. As much as he likes to talk dirty, he genuinely cares and you always know it.
“Oh uhm, yes please”
“No problem.” he got on his knees and laced your skates up, “They need to be super tight, but not so tight you can’t bend your knees beyond a certain point.” Nobody could wipe the smile he had off his face. He was just happy to be teaching his girlfriend how to skate on Valentine’s Day.
“Thank you Tim. I feel like Cinderella, only my shoe has a sharp blade on it and my prince charming doesn’t know how to check the weather.” You giggle at his expense
“Im sure I’m a much better prince charming than whatever that guy had going on. Now stand up and see if it’s comfortable.”
“Perfect! Oh! I mean uhhh-“ You can’t let the jig be up, “Ouch super tight but I’ll be okay!”
Tim looks at you funny, but thought nothing if it, “Alright let’s go.”
❅ ❅ ❅
You can’t even stand it. You’ve been pretending to be awful at skating for almost 30 minutes. The real truth? You were on a figure skating scholarship just like how Tim was on a hockey one. You’d been skating since middle school and it had become a sport you loved deeply. You and Tim had been together for eight months, but the topic never really came up due to you thinking there were far more important things to your character.
“Can I try by myself?” your posture was awful, but it as about to be perfect in about 5 seconds
“Remember what I taught you about falling on your butt and not your face?”
It took so much not to roll your eyes, “Ill try not to fall because you like both of those things about me. think I’m okay.”
“Great! Let’s see you do 5 feet ahead. Go at any pace you want.”
You nodded, kissing him on the cheek. You immediately shifted into better posture, stopped shaking , and started skating at the pace you wanted, like he said. You begin with fluid crossovers, transitioning into quick footwork. With a push, you launch into a simple jump, landing with precision. You could feel the air whipping past your face as you gained speed. Your body twists and turns effortlessly, soon you’re skating circles around your boyfriend, who couldn’t do anything but look at you in shock. You stop right next to him.
“Was that okay?”
“Was that okay?? What are you doing studying here! People get injured all the time at the olympics I’m sure you could fill in and it would make no difference” He laughed in complete shock, “How long have you been skating for?
“More than 10 years”
“We should definitely take this to my place. You’ve won my heart. Not that you didn’t before I just- let’s go babe.”
“No I’m actually having so much fun!”

North To The Future [Chapter 8: Crash And Burn]
Tumblr media
The year is 1999. You are just beginning your veterinary practice in Juneau, Alaska. Aegon is a mysterious, troubled newcomer to town. You kind of hate him. You are also kind of obsessed with him. Falling for him might legitimately ruin your life…but can you help it? Oh, and there’s a serial killer on the loose known only as the Ice Fisher.
Chapter warnings: Language, alcoholism, addiction, murder, discussions of sex, actual sex (18+ readers only), near-death experiences, health crises, hospitals, questionable tattoos, trout with Trent.
Word count: 6.7k.

“He broke up with me.” Kimmie hasn’t taken a single sip of her Miller Lite. She’s staring right past you and Heather, her eyes glassy puddles shimmering with reflections of multicolored Christmas lights. It’s Monday, December 13th, and Dale’s stereo is playing Queen’s Thank God It’s Christmas. You’re in the usual booth and waiting for the boys to get off work. Outside the frosted windows is an ocean of darkness punctuated by narrow aisles of murky streetlight luminescence. “He actually broke up with me.”
Heather snaps her fingers in front of Kimmie’s face. “Uh, Kimmie, Earth to Kimmie, yeah, can you give us a little more exposition, please? When exactly did this happen?”
“Yesterday,” Kimmie says, slightly more present now. “He’d been weird since the hike, super depressed, super boring…he wasn’t even interested in doggie style, and he loves doggie style!”
“Boundaries, Kimmie,” Heather pleads.
“So he called me to come over last night and I went to see him and he was…like…sitting on his couch with his hands folded in his lap like it was a freaking job interview. And he explained that he thought I was totally great and that we’d had a lot of fun together but now he had to break things off for personal reasons.”
“Wow, personal reasons, wow,” Heather muses. She doesn’t turn to look at you, but she does kick your boot under the table. You pretend not to notice.
“Wow,” Joyce echoes wryly, flipping a page in her current fantasy novel. There’s some stately prince on the front cover: crown, sword, shield, long flowing hair like a river of white gold.
“I don’t even care that much,” Kimmie realizes as she’s saying it. “I mean, it was nearing its expiration date anyway. I’m going to get back together with Brad, Aegon’s going to presumably resume sleeping his way through Juneau…or maybe try out taking a vow of celibacy, who knows, he’s been very monkish the past few days. He can be fun sometimes, and I like him, and I wish him all the best, but there’s no future for us. I just realized that he’s the first guy who ever broke up with me instead of the other way around. It feels…not great!”
“Congratulations, you’re a mortal,” Joyce says, not looking up from her book.
“So you wouldn’t care if Aegon got with someone else?” Heather asks Kimmie innocently. This time, you kick Heather. She winces but bites back a hiss of pain.
Kimmie considers this, finally taking a swig of her I’m-a-cool-girl-who-likes-hockey-and-trucks beer. “No, probably not.”
I won’t do it, you vow to yourself with false stoicism, imagined iron you wish you were really made of. I won’t date him, I won’t sleep with him, I won’t fall in love with him. And yet part of you already knows it’s too late. Part of you knows this as if it’s been inked to your skin like the scrawled, secret entries of a journal.
Ursa Minor’s front door bangs open, and what you see when you turn to look doesn’t make any sense. Rob and Trent—both dripping wet, their hair plastered flat to their heads, their boots squeaking on the hardwood floor—rush inside. There are shouts and gasps and people leaping up out of their seats to get a better look. Trent is carrying something over one of his lumberjack-broad shoulders. He kneels to throw it down onto the floor. It’s Aegon: limp, bluish, unconscious.
“Someone call somebody!” Trent bellows. He’s staring down at Aegon in panic, in terror, not knowing what to do. Beads of water run down his face. “An ambulance or 911 or a helicopter…or…or somebody!”
“Got it!” Dale says, darting for the phone behind the bar. Kimmie is shrieking. Joyce is trying to calm her down. And by then, you’re on the floor beside Aegon feeling for a pulse on his carotid. He doesn’t have one. He’s cold and he’s silent and he’s medically dead.
“He fell,” Trent says franticly, helplessly. “We were bringing the boat into the harbor and he got tangled in a net and fell overboard. I pulled him out, but he was underwater for a while and we couldn’t…we couldn’t wake him up…”
“Aegon?!” you scream, shaking him, slapping him across his icy, vacant face. “Aegon, wake up, wake up, please wake up!”
Heather is next to you. “What can I do?”
“Help me get his wet clothes off. Hypothermia.”
She yanks at his boots, his socks, his jeans. “You know how to do CPR, right?”
“Yeah, on a dog!” Still, you have to try. How long can he go without a pulse until he’s braindead? Four minutes? Five? The cold might buy him extra time, but not much. Minutes. You rip off his red flannel shirt; buttons go careening across the wet floor. As you place your palms over his heart, you notice—fleetingly, dazedly, like sloshing through a dream—that he has a scattering of scars on his chest, gashes and punctures and knicks…and two tattoos. There is a dragon spiraled around his right collarbone. Just below his left, there are three words written in light, graceful cursive: I’m a killer.
You start chest compressions. How many am I supposed to do on a human? Ten? Twenty? You can’t remember. You’re sobbing; you aren’t sure when that started, but it’s in full force now. Heather mops the tears from your face with her sleeve so you can see.
He’s going to die, you think. He’s going to die lying on the floor of this bar in his boxers, and he will never tell me anything again, and he will never see his family again, and he will never get better. The channel killed Jesse and now it’s killed Aegon too.
“Is he dead?!” Kimmie yelps from across the room. “Please tell me he’s not dead!”
Heather hurls back: “You’re going to be dead if you don’t shut up! Let her work on him!”
You tilt Aegon’s head back, lift his chin, pinch his nose shut. Then you exhale into him. You can taste the dark ancient salt of the sea on his cold lips…but beneath that there is rum as well. He shouldn’t have been drinking that much at work. He doesn’t usually. What’s different? What’s been bothering him? But you think you know the answer to that.
There’s nothing, nothing, nothing…and then Aegon’s chest rises and he rolls onto his side, choking out torrents of seawater and gasping for air. People are cheering and chattering, but you barely hear them.
“Oh my god!” you cry out, and if you were sobbing before now you’re properly bawling, breathless and hysterical. It’s uncontrollable, you can’t seem to stop. You cling to Aegon as he shivers violently and peers around with half-open, profoundly confused blue eyes, warming him with your own body heat, turning his flesh from blue to white to pink.
“Go get coats and stuff to warm him up,” Heather says to Trent, shoving him away. And you do actually need coats…but also, you think, Heather is trying to get rid of her brother. Because it should be obvious to anyone what’s going on here; it should be obvious to anyone that you’re in love with this white-blond man on the floor who not so very long ago was a stranger.
“Hey, hey,” Aegon rasps, pawing clumsily at your face as if to comfort you, almost poking your eyes out in the process. And then he asks, with genuine confusion: “What the hell are you crying about?”
You start laughing, tears still streaming down your cheeks. “You, idiot. I’m crying about you.”
“I’m fine, Appletini,” he croaks. “Shh. Shh. Stop. No crying.”
“I thought you were dead, I thought…I thought…”
“I’m not that easy to kill,” Aegon says, his eyes dipping shut. Outside in the blackness somewhere, there are sirens whirling. Trent returns with an armful of coats and together you pile them on top of Aegon, burying him in a tomb of L.L.Bean and Patagonia and The North Face. “Trust me. I know.”
~~~~~~~~~~
Obviously, the hospital won’t let Aegon have rum and Cokes. He pushes his morphine button almost constantly, even though the doctors and nurses tell him he’s already maxed out. They began by keeping Aegon overnight for observation, and then he developed pneumonia, and then the first type of antibiotics didn’t work and they had to play roulette until they found one that did. Now it’s a full week later—December 20th—and Aegon is finally feeling like himself again and is due to be released tomorrow. Sunfyre has been staying with you and your parents. He loves it, he gets constant attention and enjoys gazing out the window to see if his new best friend the cow moose will show up. Meanwhile, Trent has convinced his boss Rusty—another high school classmate of your parents, another hulking bearded specimen of the enmeshed Juneau ecosystem—to let Aegon keep his job despite the extended leave; Trent even managed to get Aegon paid time off for the first five days. This is all rather heroic of him. It makes you feel bad for thinking he might be a serial killer. If Trent knows that Aegon was drunk on the job, he hasn’t mentioned it to anybody.
“I got you something,” Aegon tells you when you get off work. It’s just after sunset, the last whisps of pink and lilac dusk vanishing from the sky. Things have been slow at the vet clinic as Christmas draws near, which is good in that you can leave early and visit Aegon more often. It’s bad because you’re less busy, less preoccupied; you have all the time in the world to think about him. Aegon is propped up in bed on pillows—his hair slicked back from his face, his eyes sleepy and racoonish—and wearing a hospital gown that’s too big for him. You can see his collarbones and his tattoos, though you’re trying very hard not to stare, to wonder. He points to the table beside his bed. There’s a bouquet of blue roses lying there.
“For me?!”
“For the person who literally brought me back from the dead? Yeah, I don’t think it’s too extravagant.”
You give him one of the hot chocolates you bought from the hospital cafeteria. It’s not as good as his, obviously, but it’s better than nothing. He clutches the Styrofoam cup with both hands, steam rolling up into his face. He inhales the scent, closes his eyes, sighs deeply with a smile. “I hope they aren’t stolen,” you say about the roses, only half-kidding.
“They’re from the gift shop. I dragged myself down there after lunch. They really weren’t that expensive, I think the cashier gave me a still-attached-to-an-IV discount.”
“Was she cute?”
“She was eighty years old.”
You laugh and sit down in the chair beside his bed, sipping your own hot chocolate: thin, watery, weak. You admire the roses, threading velvety cerulean petals through your fingers. “I love them, really, but I wish you wouldn’t buy things for me. I know you’re chronically short on money. And I am somehow skeptical that you have health insurance. Do you have health insurance?”
He grins toothily. “Nope.”
“Aegon,” you lament.
“It doesn’t matter. They’ll bill me, I’ll never pay, it’s all made up.”
“You might need a halfway decent credit score one day.”
He shakes his head. “I’m never going to try to get a mortgage. I’m never going to apply for a job at a bank or a law firm. I’ll be fine. I’ll live in a tree if that’s what it takes.”
You rest your palm against his cheek and then his forehead, checking for fever. His skin is warm but not hot, pale but not bloodless. You can feel his eyes on you, trying to catch your gaze like a hook through a fish. You avoid them.
“How do I look, vet lady?”
“I’m not really qualified to evaluate humans.”
“I don’t want to get better.”
Now you do stare at him, direct and mystified. “Why?”
“I’m worried you won’t be nice to me anymore.”
You chuckle, relieved. “I’ll still be nice to you, Aegon.”
“You promise?”
“I promise.”
A nurse pops into the room, young and springy and jovial like a kitten. She must be new; you don’t recognize her, and you’ve been here a lot. “Good afternoon, I’m just swinging by to take your vitals. I see you’re scheduled to go home tomorrow, how exciting!” The nurse squints down at the chart she has pinned to a clipboard. “Aegon…?”
He smirks long-sufferingly. “It’s Greek.”
“It’s lovely!” the nurse recovers. She measures his temperature and heartrate and blood pressure, his reflexes and his oxygenation. He passes all inquiries with flying colors. She congratulates Aegon on his recovery and flits off to tend to more needy patients. You think of the nights you’ve spent curled up in this chair, listening to Aegon’s labored, rattling breathing and watching blooms of flare-hot crimson fever creep across his face. You think of how much it’s going to kill you to lose him someday. You find yourself staring at his tattoos, ink that someone else put there in some other city, remnants of the life he had before.
“You can ask,” Aegon says. “I’m sure you’re wondering.”
You set your hot chocolate on the table and move closer to him, ghosting your fingertips over the words: I’m a killer. He jolts a little, although not in a bad way, not in an unwelcome way. He doesn’t lean away from you. In fact, he leans in. “What’s up with that?”
“Would this be an awkward moment for me to confess that I’m the Ice Fisher?”
You smile. “You have to admit that it’s a little weird. There’s a killer on the loose, you have a tattoo that says you’re a killer, I think any reasonable observer would have questions.”
“Kimmie didn’t.”
“Reasonable observer, I said. Reasonable.”
“It’s not a confession. It’s a Johnny Cash lyric.”
“Really? Which song?” You know a fair amount of Johnny Cash thanks to your dad’s extensive vinyl collection. You skim through his discography in your head: Walk The Line, Ring Of Fire, Get Rhythm, Folsom Prison Blues, I Got Stripes. You can’t remember any of them having that line. It circles around in your skull, only sounding like Aegon’s voice: I’m a killer, I’m a killer.
“I’ve Been Everywhere,” he says. “It’s a cover, actually. Some other guy did it first. But I didn’t know that when I got inked. And I loved Johnny Cash’s version when I heard it. It was like my theme song.”
“Ohhh, right, that’s the one where he lists all the cities he’s been to, like Reno, uh, and Chicago, and, uhhh…”
Aegon sings, deep but hoarse: “Fargo, Minnesota, Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota, Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma, Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma—” He breaks off with a coughing fit.
“Stop,” you beg, laughing. “Stop, you’re going to hurt yourself.” You trace the cursive letters lightly. I’m a killer. I’m a killer. “Kimmie never had questions about that?”
“I don’t think Kimmie really sees me. She just sees adjectives in the shape of my silhouette. But you…” He puts his hand over yours, pinning it to his chest. You can feel his heart under there somewhere, beneath muscles and bones and a pitch-black sea crawling with monsters that have evolved to live in the extreme gravity, in the depths: ghosts of the past and sirens of the future. He smiles. “You see a lot.”
“20/20, baby.” You study his scars. They’re random like a scatterplot, none large enough to appear life-threatening. “How did you get these?”
“Car accident. A long time ago.”
“Before you left Miami?”
He gazes absently out the window, where snow is falling. You can see it drifting down to the earth in the gloomy beams of streetlights. “Yeah.”
Now there are new lyrics bubbling up in your mind, not anything by Johnny Cash but Cake’s The Distance. No trophy, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no wine, he’s haunted by something he cannot define. And perhaps you know something about what that feels like. “Do you really think I’m a coward?” you ask softly. “I know you’re trying not to lie to me. So I’m hoping you’ll tell me the truth. You might be the only person who will.”
Aegon pauses before he answers. “I think a lot of people are cowards in one way or another,” he says diplomatically. “And I think that if that’s your greatest flaw as a human—that you don’t want to disappoint your parents, that you don’t want to hurt them, that you want to repay them for being so wonderful when there are people out there who beat and murder their kids—you turned out alright.”
You think of how easy it would be to rest your head on his bare, scarred chest and let him hold you. You think of how much you want that, want it in a sudden and ravenous and unbearable sort of way. “Thank you,” you whisper.
“No problem, Appletini.”
There is a knock on the door, and you jerk away from Aegon. You pick up your hot chocolate and slurp it as you sink into the chair. Aegon laces his hands together and wrings them. Trent walks in. “Sup, bro?!” he pipes cheerfully.
“Bro,” Aegon offers in return. They bump fists.
“You look like you’re feeling better.”
“I definitely am.”
“Still getting let out tomorrow?”
“Yup. Like a prisoner who made parole. Kimmie already offered to drive me home.” Then he adds: “Platonically.” Kimmie’s the only one in the friend group without a real job. Her parents are both university professors—you aren’t sure how none of the genius chromosomes made their way down the genetic Plinko board to her, but they didn’t—and she gets paid to be their ‘research assistant’…which means she works rarely and with no accountability whatsoever.
Trent’s eyes dart to you, to the blue roses, to you again, finally back to Aegon. He’s beaming, but there’s something hollow about it, like if you struck him across the face it would crack like porcelain. “Flowers, huh? That’s dope.”
“Yeah, I figured it was the least I could do since she saved my life and all.”
“She’s fantastic,” Trent agrees proudly, like he owns you. “In fact, that’s kind of why I’m here.” He turns to you. “I called the house and your parents told me I should check the hospital. I wanted to…you know, now that Aegon’s basically better and we all know he’s not gonna die…I wanted to take you to dinner tomorrow.”
“Dinner?” you repeat, stupidly, like you’re unfamiliar with the concept. “Tomorrow?”
“Yeah, someplace nice. Candlelight and fancy dessert, the whole deal.”
A date. That’s definitely a date. You stare at Trent. He stares at you. Aegon frowns at you both, pressing his knuckles to his lips. “Dinner,” you say awkwardly, but with more conviction. “Totally. Dinner would be nice.”
“Awesome!” Trent thunders. “I’ll pick you up at 8?”
“Sounds good!” you say with overcompensating enthusiasm. Trent swoops in for an unexpected hug—nearly spilling your hot chocolate—and gives Aegon a parting fist bump. Then he’s gone.
“I owe him,” you explain to Aegon, speaking quickly, nervously. “He saved your life, he fished you out of the channel like a goddamn salmon. He’s responsible for you keeping your job. He’s getting you paid time off. He’s been around the hospital a lot this week, he’s been so helpful, selflessly helpful…I can’t just tell him to fuck off after all that.” And then you say: “But it’s only dinner! Only one dinner!”
“Need some condoms?” Aegon teases, trying to make you smile. It works. “I have a box I’m not currently using.”
“I’m on the pill.”
“Good to know.”
“I doubt your condoms are horse-sized anyway.”
“Hey hey hey, it’s not about the number of inches, it’s about how you use them.”
“I’ve heard some very interesting things. About your inches, I mean.”
“Oh no,” he groans, covering his blushing face with his hands.
“I didn’t say bad things. I said interesting things.”
“I wouldn’t mind you knowing from firsthand experience,” he says with a sly little grin you can’t quite read. It’s playful, it’s sharp, it’s baiting, it’s sad.
“About what?”
“About my inches.”
You both burst out laughing, so hard Aegon launches into another coughing fit. You reach for him instinctively, pressing your hand to his chest again as if you can cure him, not a palm reader but a faith healer. A miracle worker. A professional fixer.
“You think it’s safe?” he asks, seriously now. “Dinner, I mean. With Trent.”
“I think he’d have a hard time strangling me in the middle of a crowded restaurant. And everyone’s going to know we’re hanging out together tomorrow night, he’d have to be more than stupid to kill me. He’d have to be all brainstem, like an alligator or a shark. Besides, he doesn’t want me dead.”
“I know. He wants you to be his wife.” There’s nothing to fill the uneasy lull but the pounding of your own heartbeat. “Call me,” Aegon says abruptly. “When you get home tomorrow night. So I know you’re okay.” So I know you didn’t get murdered. So I know you’re not at the bottom of a lake somewhere.
“What if it’s not until really late? I don’t want to disturb you while you’re recovering.”
He looks out the window: into the frigid void, into nothing. “Still call me.”
~~~~~~~~~~
Trent takes you to the Red Dog Saloon, Juneau’s idea of fine dining. You intentionally dress to look not-sexy: dark blue flannel (you’ve warmed to the fabric since Aegon wears it so much) with a T-shirt underneath, jeans, boots, minimal makeup, hair in an I-really-don’t-care messy loose braid. Trent doesn’t seem to notice that this isn’t supposed to be a date. He’s wearing a button-up maroon shirt and khakis. He chats away blithely as you survey the menu. He’s had the servers bring out candles to put on the table. He’s ordered craft beers for you both. You wrinkle your nose and shudder after each thick bitter sip, chasing the beer with desperate gulps of water. Whoever owns the Red Dog Saloon does not share Dale’s devotion to Shania Twain and Christmas music; the stereo is playing Savage Garden’s Crash And Burn.
“Ready to order?” the waitress asks, casting former-football-star Trent a flirtatious smile just in case he’s single. He is! you mentally shout, hoping for telepathy. He just doesn’t know it!
“Yeah,” you begin. “I think I’d like to try your brisket—”
“Oh no, no no no,” Trent says with a chuckle. He flips his hair; in your head, you hear a neigh. “They have a great special. Trout with risotto. How fancy is that?! I don’t even know what risotto is! We gotta try that. We gotta make tonight special.”
“Okay. Yeah. Sure.” You give the waitress a tight smirk as you hand her the menu. “The trout special. Two of them, I guess.”
“You’ll love it,” the waitress promises, tossing Trent another smile like a penny into a fountain. She takes both menus and disappears into the kitchen.
“So,” Trent says, drinking his beer. “I didn’t know you liked Aegon so much. I thought you kind of hated him, actually.”
You shrug, peering into the foam of your unwanted beer. “I don’t like to see anyone suffering. It doesn’t matter who.”
“That makes sense, I guess.”
“And you encouraged me to get along with him because you want him to stay in Juneau so he can be in your band.”
“Oh yeah, right. Okay, never mind. I was just…curious.” Another hair flip.
“Look, Trent…” You gather your courage like raking up autumn leaves. “We’re friends, right?”
He chortles. “Well, I’d like to think we’re a lot more than that.”
I bet you would. “But we never…like…we never put a label on it, you know?”
“Do you need a label?” he says. You had worried he might be mad; instead, he’s amused. You aren’t sure why that makes you feel worse. “Is that what makes it official, us using the words boyfriend, girlfriend, relationship, whatever?”
“Maybe those words don’t really apply to us, and that’s why we haven’t used them yet,” you try hopefully. “Like, if we were supposed to date, it would feel more natural for us to date. But maybe it doesn’t feel so natural, so we’re better off staying friends.”
Now he puts his beer down and stares at you. The glass thumps against the glossy wood. He’s bending towards you, though you don’t think he’s even aware of it; he props his elbows on the table, his brow crinkling in bewilderment. And there’s something else in the lines of his face too. Anger. Indignation. Betrayal. “You want to be friends?”
“I didn’t say that,” you amend swiftly. “I just said maybe we’re better off as friends.”
He slaps his palm against the table—you flinch, hating that he has that power over you—and laughs in amazement. “I’m just…well, I’m shocked! You’re fine with kissing me, and watching movies in your bedroom, and hanging out all the time, and getting drinks together and playing pool and showing me off to your parents, but you’re horrified by the thought of calling it dating?! You’re too much, ladybug. You’re really too much.”
He's going to pretend he doesn’t see that I want out. And he’s going to keep pretending until he’s on his knees with a fucking ring from Zales. “I don’t think I’m looking for a relationship right now, Trent. With anyone.” Oh, and that’s such a goddamn lie.
“Seriously?”
“Seriously.”
He studies you; but that’s too kind a word for it. His eyes flay you down to the bone. “I’m a good guy, you know.”
“I know,” you lie, nodding agreeably.
“You’re not eighteen anymore,” he says. “It’s not like you have forever to find someone to settle down with. I go to work, I’m popular, I’m presentable, I care about you, I take you on dates, I move your furniture around whenever you fucking ask me to, I’m a good guy. I get that maybe this is progressing a little fast for you, and we can slow down if that’s what you want. But I think it would be pretty stupid to give something like this up. Don’t you?”
It doesn’t sound like a question. It sounds like a threat. Don’t you? Don’t you? “You’re right, Trent,” you hear yourself say, like it’s someone else’s voice. “I’m sorry. You’re right.”
The waitress arrives with your dinner and—not so subtly—slips Trent her number. He makes a great show of ripping it up in front of you. The trout and risotto thing is great, actually. It’s not what you walked in wanting, but it turned out just fine. And maybe that’s what the rest of your life will be like too: other people making choices, you hoping you’ll like the taste.
After dinner and dessert—a Baked Alaska, another of Trent’s suggestions that are more like nonnegotiables—he drives you home in his massive rumbling truck. You talk innocuously about your vet clinic clients, dogs and cats and hamsters and reindeer, until you roll to a stop in front of your parents’ house. You begin your goodbye, opening the truck door. Cold December air floods in.
“Okay Trent, thank you for a lovely night—” He cuts you off with a kiss he didn’t ask for, a hand on your face that feels hot and smothering. You’re so stunned it takes you a few seconds to try to push him away. He ignores you until you shove him so hard he can’t pretend not to notice.
“What are you so worried about?” he demands, he implores, like he’ll fix anything if you just name it, like he’ll strike the nails with his bare hands. But he can’t fix what’s wrong. What’s wrong is that I’m in love with Aegon Targaryen. “Are you scared I’ll be bored of you once you give it all up? Are you worried about getting pregnant? Aren’t you on the pill? I saw the pack in your bedroom.”
You’re nauseated that he noticed, that he’s imagined you like that: naked, compliant, vulnerable. “Yes, Trent, but that’s for me, not for you.”
“Then what’s wrong?”
You tell him the truth. Not the whole truth—not enough to enrage him—but the crux of it: the spine, the heart. “I always thought I knew exactly what my life was going to look like, but now I’m…I’m…”
“Well this is what comes next, right?” Trent says. “You check the boxes for school and work, and then it’s time to settle down. Get married, buy a house, have kids. I’m ready to give you that. I want to give you that. Don’t you want it too?”
Aegon is going to leave, you think with steel-cold dread. Sooner or later, he’ll disappear to start over again in some anonymous new city. And what will my life look like then? What will I have when he’s gone? “I guess I just need some more time to figure things out.”
Trent nods, his jaw clenched tight, looking out into the darkness through his windshield. “I’m not criticizing you for waiting. I’m just wondering what the hell you’re waiting for.”
Inside the house is hushed and empty; your parents are enjoying a night out with your dad’s bowling league. They even took Sunfyre with them. You drag yourself upstairs, each step a mile. You brush your teeth—twice—to get the taste of Trent and craft beer out of your mouth. And then you stand in your bedroom surrounded by posters and magazines, surrounded by fantasies that you will never wrap your hands around. You glance at the box full of Jesse’s journals; you can see the cardboard edge of it poking out from beneath your bed. He’s gone, and he wasn’t perfect, in fact in many ways he was a curse, was a plague, was a monster. But I think my mom would give anything for one more day with him. After all these years, I still think she would.
The blue roses Aegon gave you are in a vase on your nightstand, right next to the phone. They’re already dying. And now your throat is burning, and your eyes are wet with tears, and when defenseless sobs rip from your chest there is no one here to hear them. I don’t want to protect myself from what it would have been like with him. I want to know.
You snatch up the phone, find the Post-it note with Aegon’s number written on it, call him before you have time to change your mind. When he answers, it’s clear you woke him up. His voice is slow and groggy. “Hello?”
“Can I come over?”
“Huh…?”
“Can I please come over? I need to come over. I need to come over right now.”
Now he’s awake. “Yeah, yeah, of course. Are you okay? Where are you?”
“I’m at home, I’m fine, I’m safe, I just…I just…” You swipe the tears from your eyes and take a long, trembling breath. “I just need to come over.”
“No problem,” Aegon says. He is puzzled, he is concerned…but you think a part of him is glad too. “I’ll see you in ten minutes.”
You drive your Jeep to his apartment building and park it—badly, crookedly, like he would—under a streetlight. The night is fiercely, brutally cold when you dive out into it. The full moon is an island; the indigo, star-flecked sky is an ocean deep with secrets and bones and wreckage, splinters of swallowed lives dissolving into the blue. Upstairs, Aegon’s door is already unlocked. He’s wearing a black Nirvana T-shirt and green flannel pajama pants, his hair disheveled. He’s also making hot chocolate.
“Hi,” he says casually, filling the mugs. He adds splashes of French vanilla coffee creamer—plus some 99 Whipped for his green mug—and swirls of whipped cream, then shaves on a generous dusting of Hershey’s chocolate. He gives you the blue mug. You take it in quivering hands. “You alright?”
“Yeah. I’m fine. I’m amazing.”
“Okay.” He waits, patient and watchful, sipping his hot chocolate.
You feel better after a few minutes tick by. Aegon’s apartment is serene and still. The tv is dark; there’s no music, no voices, no distractions. You can barely hear the screech of the Arctic wind outside. The only light turned on is the one in the kitchen; the rest of the apartment is shadows. The hot chocolate is warm, rich, comforting, safe. “How are you feeling?”
“Pretty great,” Aegon replies. “Normal.”
“Good.”
“Yeah.” He gazes at you, still waiting.
You finish your hot chocolate and put the mug in the kitchen sink. You take your hair out of your braid and shake it loose, surveying his apartment with aimless steps: his couch, his guitar, his litany of refrigerator magnets, his unmade bed. Aegon sets his mug down on the counter and crosses his arms over his chest.
“Appletini,” he says. “Why are you here?”
You turn back to him, but you can’t find your words. It’s on your face, it has to be; it’s in a language Aegon can speak fluently. You see the understanding flicker in his eyes like firelight: sudden, bright, exhilarated.
“Say it,” he prompts. “You have to say it, or I’m not going to believe you.”
You try, you really do try. But you can’t get the words to leave your lips. You don’t know how to put what you want from him into words at all. Anything, everything.
He smiles, softly like a whisper. “Me first, huh?” Then he begins undressing. He yanks his Nirvana T-shirt over his head—further tangling his hair—and tosses it across the room. He slips off his pajama pants, and then his boxers too. He’s standing there in the florescent kitchen light, flesh and ink and track marks and scars. “Okay, your turn. If you’re still interested.”
“I want you to do that part.”
He crosses the scuffed hardwood floor, his footsteps quiet. His fingers find the top button of your flannel shirt. His eyes are fixed on yours as he unhooks the first button, another, another after that. He leans in to press his lips to your throat, just beneath your jaw. Slowly, exquisitely slowly, he kisses his way down to your collarbone as he unfastens the rest of the buttons and gently pulls off your shirt, letting it fall to the floor. He slips his hands below the hem of the T-shirt you’re wearing underneath and lifts it away, his knuckles grazing your belly, your waist, your ribs, the lace of your bra. And then he cradles your face in his hands and kisses you with exceptional, reverent slowness, like you’re something that could shatter. You can’t reconcile this man with the sort of wild acrobatics that Kimmie had described. And then you’re not thinking about Kimmie at all. The past is a black hole, the future is an empty sky. There’s no room in this lightning-brief sliver of eternity for anyone else.
You breathe him in: sweetness, warmth, the bite of alcohol, fire and shadows and light. He unbuttons your jeans, unzips them, kneels down to peel them off of you. He touches his lips to your thigh—first the outside, then the downy-soft inside—and hesitates for a moment before he stands to kiss your lips again. His hands skim across your bare back towards the clasp of your bra, raising goosebumps like twilight stars. And then again, he hesitates. His hands come back to your face, his fingertips calloused but lithe.
“You’re nervous,” you murmur, smiling. You tuck his escaped lock of hair behind his ear, pressing yourself against him: hips, chest, soul. The sapphire blue lace of your bra and panties rustles across his skin. You can’t get close enough to him; it’s not possible, it’s not fathomable. He’s holding himself back, you can tell. He’s panting with the effort. In the midnight silence, you can hear every sound he makes with crystalline clarity. The moonlight pours in, painting you both in ghostly silver light.
Aegon chuckles shakily. “I am,” he admits.
“I think you’ve done this once or twice before.”
“Yeah, but not with you.”
“I want this,” you say, your lips to the curl of his ear. His skin is hot with eager, rushing blood. “And I want you to be the one to set me free.”
Something snaps in him, something breaks like a wave. Your bra tumbles to the floor, your panties are whisked away, you and Aegon are on the bed together tangled up like arteries flush with life. There is a breathless sort of desperation in it: in the way your fingers intertwine, in his gasps and your moans, in the sustained pleasure—so intense it borders on pain—that causes euphoric tears to spring up in your eyes, in his deep, startlingly powerful thrusts that begin slowly and then build to a furious rhythm. And you know then that he agrees, it’s not possible to ever get close enough to each other; but still, you resolve to try.
“Look at me, baby,” Aegon whispers as you arch into him and you beg him not to stop, his palm turning your face towards his. “Look at me, look at me, look at me…”
You unravel like thread torn from a spool until its empty, like a mystery, like stitches clipped from a healed wound. There’s an insurmountable sort of peace that follows it. Nothing is okay, and yet everything is, and you can conjure up no words but only colors: the white of snow, the indigo of the night sky, the gold of the rare unclouded midday sun, the ethereal green-violet glow of the Northern Lights. Aegon empties himself inside you, crying out and kissing the side of your face over and over again, tasting heat and salt and your unnamed love for him. You can feel the serenity settling over him as if it’s your own pulse slowing, your own mind cleared like the horizon after a storm. You are irredeemably etched into each other. You are two sides of the same coin: too weightless, too rooted, unable to leave, unable to stay.
As you lay side by side in the moonlight, your fingers tangled in his hair, Aegon says: “You are the only thing that’s ever made me want to stop running.”
“You could stay. I want you to stay.”
“For a while.” He pulls you against him. You rest your head on his chest: ink, scars, slow thudding heartbeat. His fingertips draw invisible paths up the length of your spine. “Not forever. But for a while.”
She’s hoping in time that her memories will fade.
“I don’t want to have to forget you,” you whisper, your voice breaking.
“Not yet,” Aegon vows. It’s the only promise he can make. He kisses your forehead, sweeping the tears from your cheeks with his hands. “Not yet.”

i am back with more headcanons! today we got college gaang x going to the gym!!
masterpost (>ᴗ•)
college athletes: suki, ty lee, toph, sokka
suki’s colorguard stuff is a killer workout in itself (ex guard girl here, i was jacked)
and being the captain of the self defense club, it’s kind of accepted she could knock you the fuck out
ty lee being a cheerleader also gives her an insane amount of muscle but it’s less visible and more just strength
so she just looks completely normal and then BAM she puts zuko in a shoulder sit
the ty lee cheerleader arc is something i want to go into more detail on so someone please tell me to do it so i have an excuse to
toph being on the rugby team is something so close to my heart
she does lifting, conditioning, rugby practice etc all ON TOP of the earth bending she’s doing on the daily
she is 5’0” of pure muscle
sokka is on the fencing team which is more agility centered than strength centered
he’s fast, he has a great reaction time and hand eye coordination
something will fall and he will catch it so fast
like wow i didn’t know spider-man was here
i also headcanon he can just do a backflip. like he’s one of those backflip guys i’m sure you know one
absolute gym bros: katara, azula, zuko
katara was field hockey captain in high school but didn’t continue in college
she is a busy woman and has so many passions to spend her time on in college!
she does however hit the gym regularly she loves the gym
her and zuko are gym buddies :)
zuko is huge man i feel like this is not explored enough in fanon HE KICKED THROUGH A WOODEN TABLE??????????
me when i see fanart of zuko that lets him be strong!!!!!!!!!!!! 😁😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
he works out all the time because he realized young that being bad at bending sucks but he could just get as good as possible as good old acoustic combat
azula works out as part of her healing process
good way to get her anger out
boxing is one of her favorite workouts but she also is a part of a firebending club
mock trial? try mock agni kai
great way to make friends while keeping her skills sharp
plus having a firebending major is a lot of exercise in itself
same with katara and toph and the other bending majors
mai spends enough time working on precision with knife throwing that her reflexes are also good, better than sokkas for sure
but if you asked her to run a mile she’d laugh in your face
katara gets ripped for bending, aang is ripped from bending
he can’t major in airbending cause he’s the only one but he spends a lot of time keeping his skills sharp
he actually compulsively practices because he’s afraid he will forget something and some aspect a irbending culture will be lost to time but that’s another post i could make like and subscribe for the gaang trauma responses post
his endurance is great from sparring and airbending and he also loves running
he is the only one in the gaang who loves running (only one in the gaang who will run willingly at all)
as much as the gaang, who canonically are fighters, love physical activity, they also love being so very lazy! they don’t get a chance to be lazy often so they will take any chance to give their bodies a rest they can in my au
rest is just as important as being active :)
okay that’s all for tonight! can u tell im a tired student athlete and am projecting lol ok i have to go to bed cause i got class tomorrow thanks for reading !

Illumination (a 9-1-1 ficlet)
Tumblr media
A little Buck & Hen coda piece for episode 7x04. About 1.2K words, not rated. Contains major spoilers for "Buck, Bothered and Bewildered."
Also posted to AO3 here.
“Hey, what’s going on with you today?”
Hen’s voice startles Buck off the frame of the open roll-up door at the back of the equipment bay, where he was—what? Gathering his thoughts? More like letting them run amok, because there seems to be no getting them under control at the moment. Even the mindless task of polishing the engine had proved too much, and Buck just… needed a minute.
It’s been approximately eighteen hours since Tommy kissed him. Eighteen hours in which his whole damn perception of himself has been turned upside down and inside out. So there’s that. But there’s also been an embarrassing amount of losing himself in the memory of it, and imagining what it might be like to do it again. Maybe with Tommy’s broad chest pinning Buck against a wall… or those rough, competent hands on Buck’s skin somewhere… Or—
“Nothing,” Buck answers, a little too defensively, but of course Hen can tell he’s lying.
“You’ve been distracted all day, Buck.” She gives him an unimpressed look. “Are you and Eddie still not talking about how you tackled him during a friendly basketball game?”
“I didn’t tackle him! It was more like… a mid-air hip check.”
Hen huffs and shakes her head. “You can take the boy off the football team, but you can’t take football instincts out of the boy, I guess.”
“Hip checking is hockey, not football,” Buck corrects her. “And to answer your question, Eddie and I did talk about it and it’s fine. He knows I just, uh, let my emotions get away from me during the game. I apologized for it. We’re good.”
“Then what are you all in your head about? Last time you were like this, it was when you were secretly contemplating donating certain bodily fluids to a certain former roommate and his wife. They didn’t ask you to help with baby number two already, did they?”
“No! I’m just—”
Buck breaks off with a wince. God, he’s not sure if he’s ready to tell anyone yet. He’s definitely not ready to make some big, dramatic announcement when he’s still trying to wrap his head around this. Not that he’s waffling about what it meant—the head-to-toe thrill that went through him when Tommy’s mouth collided with his. Buck recognized that sensation right away, with all the certainty of someone who’d accidentally touched a live wire. He’s not a kid, for Christ’s sake.
Talking about it—out loud—though. That’s a different story.
On the other hand, this is Hen. Who better to unburden himself to than her? And then maybe he’ll be able to focus on what he’s supposed to be doing here, at work, and save his personal mess for after the shift ends.
“Okay,” he begins, pulling Hen gently by the arm out into the parking area. “Okay, but please don’t tell anyone. I mean, anyone. But especially not Chimney.”
“All right,” Hen says slowly. “What did you do?”
Buck takes a deep breath. “I kissed Tommy.”
“You what!?”
“Well, he kissed me, actually. He came over to clear the air, because he was afraid he was the cause of some bad blood between me and Eddie. You know, since they’ve been spending so much time together, and it was driving me… Uh, I’m not proud of that, either.” Buck runs his hand over his mouth and pushes on. “Then we were talking, and he said he’d teach me Muay Thai if I wanted, and then the next thing I knew, he was just… going for it.”
“Wow,” Hen says simply, and even though Buck can’t bring himself to look her in the face right now, he can tell she’s genuinely shocked. “Wow, I guess you really never can tell with some people. Not that Tommy and I were ever especially close, what with the way things were when I first arrived at the 118. Huh.”
Buck stops himself from telling her that this conversation is supposed to be about him, not Tommy. Honestly though, it hadn’t occurred to him until this moment to think about whether Tommy is out or not. That’s not cool, Buck chastises himself.
“Uh, yeah that’s probably another reason this should just stay between us for now. We didn’t really talk about whether it’s okay for me to tell people. About him.”
Hen raises her eyebrows. “But you did talk, didn’t you? He didn’t just run off or something?”
“We sort of talked? He asked me out on a date. Saturday night.”
“And you said…” Hen prompts.
“Yes,” Buck tells her, with a whooshing exhale and a grin. “I said yes.”
“Okay, then. Good. So what’s the problem?”
She’s looking at him with that mix of patience and exasperation that he knows too well. Like he’s being dense.
“The problem is that I’m thirty-two years old, Hen! It shouldn’t have been such a surprise to me that I—” Buck lowers his voice to a loud whisper. “That I’m into guys, too. Like, don’t most people just know? While they’re growing up?”
Hen reaches over to squeeze his arm. “Not necessarily. There are plenty of good reasons why some people don’t figure it out until they’re older. Sometimes much older than thirty-two, by the way. There aren’t any rules here, Buck. Everyone has their own path to get there. But… you are there, you think?”
“Oh, god. Yes.” Buck gives a small laugh, just lets it bubble out of him. It’s like opening a valve, releasing the pressure inside of him. “I’m one-hundred percent there. No doubt in my mind at all.”
“That’s wonderful. Even so, give yourself some time to process it, okay?”
“I will. But, uh, how long does processing take?” Buck asks helplessly. “I feel like I’m back in that hurricane. There are about fifty different emotions hitting me from all directions right now, and it’s kind of hard to function.”
“That’s just the nature of the beast, I’m afraid. It’s a scary thing, having that big revelation about yourself and figuring out what it means for your life.”
“I’m not scared. More like… in a daze. Every time I think about it, it knocks me back again. And then I think about tomorrow night and I start to get all jittery. Nervous. Cause I’ve never done this and I have no idea how to go about making a guy like me.”
“He already likes you, if he asked you out, right?” Hen says. “So focus on that. Anything else?”
Buck considers it, tries to loosen the tangle of feelings that’s filling up the whole of him right now and lay them out in an orderly way. Hen doesn’t rush him.
“It’s just a lot,” he says eventually, giving up on putting it into words, “and I kinda wish I could switch off my brain for a while.”
“I’m sure. Trust me, all those messy, upsetting emotions will settle down, and then you’re gonna feel really good about it.”
“Oh, I already do,” Buck reassures her. “I mean, I did last night even, right after it happened. And now, still. Just kind of… illuminated on the inside. That sounds weird, doesn’t it?”
Hen shakes her head, then puts her arms over his shoulders and jerks him into a tight hug. Buck returns it gratefully, glad to find an anchor in this crazy day, at last. When Hen speaks again, close to his ear, her voice is uncharacteristically wobbly.
“That’s the joy, Buck,” she says. “That’s the joy of it. And that’s what makes the struggle all worthwhile.”

Please explain this crush situation, it sounds like good drama!
lmao I don’t think?? I’ve posted about it before but it’s not THAT interesting I promise
also SO sorry but Due To The Autusm I don’t know how NOT to make this a Long Story
let’s see…
so the thing about communities of expats/immigrants/foreigners is that there are ALWAYS people coming and going but for a while here I had a really tight group of friends I met through work and we did EVERYTHING together. We’ll call them J, N, and B. All around my age. J was a guy from Canada, N an American guy, and B a South African girl.
N, bless his soul, has always been the most OBVIOUSLY gay guy but has wayyyyy too much internalized homophobia to deal with it so compensated by being wayyyy too into women, you know? But also he had a collection of 300 perfumes and reviewed them on YouTube lol so
ANYway he was in one really weird relationship with some girl we never even got to meet for a while and then he met Z, who started hanging out with all of us. She was always so great and they were so cute together.
So eventually J (the coolest guy, we always watched hockey together) moved back to Canada and N and Z left to go work for the summer on a ranch in the US. The tentative plan was for N to stay there because he’d always been very vocal about hating Taiwan but Z was gonna kind of play it by ear. I figured they were gonna get married, they’d already been together a couple years and had a very strong relationship
Anyway idk what happened but the minute N stepped back on American soil, his inner asshole started to show. He just became this horrible annoying person I didn’t really want anything to do with, so I haven’t talked to him much since.
I kept in touch with Z who was having a terrible time with him. He all of a sudden broke up with her in a REALLY shitty way and she moved back here. Then he moved to like Bolivia or something idk.
So then Z, B, and I were still here. B is always busy or super depressed (no judgment) so I hardly ever see her, so Z and I started hanging out alone.
It was a LITTLE awkward at first bc I only ever hung out with her through N?? But actually we got along so great and hang out as much as we can now
That’s cool, that’s fine, but I started feeling this attraction to her and this chemistry between us that suggested it… could? be mutual?? Like there were definitely signals, especially the time we went through the haunted house together wow
We had a couple discussions that were like “okay so I guess we’re both technically pretty pansexual” so it would hypothetically work ((I DO strongly id as gay but my attitude is anything’s possible u know?))
A while after that I invited her to an open mic I was performing at and sang girl crush about her asfjljdzhk
Then we had a discussion where she was basically like “I don’t date friends” which is super fair but also we still weren’t talking about us specifically
Anyway that was several months ago and my feelings have def toned down since then (also her work schedule sucks so we don’t see each other that often) and like. idk I’ve done this once before about having a crush on someone I got in super well with and then missing my chance (that person ended up dating our other friend and they’ve been together like 5 years now rip) but this also isn’t something I’m super active or serious about right now????

most popular multi-chapter fic: Stranded. Two crazy kids get lost on a deserted island. That’s literally the plot.
actual worst part of writing: Am I using this word to much? Is it to or too? Does this make sense? Will the readers like this? This sucks, doesn’t it? Wow, that sounds awful. Am I using to much exposition? Not enough? How about now? And now? Wow, this is really bad. Screw it, time to post.
how you choose your titles: Heck if I know. My best fic title is Hammerfall because it really plays with what is happening in the story and comes from one of Sansa’s lines. Otherwise, I just try for something that isn’t horribly generic and then shrug my shoulders.
do you outline?: With ones shots, there isn’t anything that needs an outline. For longer fics, sorta kinda. Usually, the first 2-4 chapters are pretty detailed before I write the fic’s first word. After that, I try to develop 4-6 bullet points of things to happen in the story. I usually know the ending scene when writing the very first chapter.
ideas you probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: How about a nice list of fics with the first 2-4 chapters done.
1. A canon AU Robin Hood fic. Jon is Robin Hood and his dad is the baddie.
2. Modern AU dystopia. The north is cut off from the rest of the 7 kingdoms. Jon’s dad is the baddie again.
3. Practical Magic inspired fic with Sansa and Arya as the sisters.
4. Jon and Sansa team up to save an historical house. Actually ending up saving their entire town.
5. A vaguely Romancing the Stone inspired/ romance adventure fic.
6. An apocalypse fic featuring a super flu that wipes out most of humanity.
7. Sansa works in a small town diner. Untamed Heart meets Bed of Roses.
8. A Sports AU. Jon is a hockey player. So is Robb. Sansa is the little sister. First two chapters written.
callouts @ me: Honestly? Get better at writing fics in the 30k word range. Really really need to develop that skill.
best writing traits: I can come up with a good premise and hook fairly easily. At least, I think they’re good.
spicy tangential opinion: I really don’t know. Write what you want and how you want. Fic is for fans so go for it. Embrace the tacky and awkward.  My biggest opinion on these two crazy kids? I much prefer writing them as a team than slow burn UST. Honestly, I’m just not good at it. The potential dynamics of these two needing each other/needing to work together to achieve goals is my big hook.

hi berry <3<3 for the confession prompts, could you do the second one for jankie please? or maybe rosejan, that could also be cute
Now you know how much I love Jankie, but this prompt was so Rosé-coded, I couldn’t just not do that.
The dim light of the fairy lights wrapped around the posts of Jan’s bed were flickering. Actually, they had flickered for quite a few weeks now, she really needed to as her dad to fix that for her. But right now, with Rosé lying next to her like this, the flickering lights dancing over her face, which still had some pink stains around her hairline, Jan just realised it more. Rosé had her eyes closed, her head rested against the pillow Jan had carefully wrapped in a towel to protect it from the freshly dyed, damp pink hair. It was impossible for Jan to tell whether she was asleep or not. Her breath came in slow, even patterns, but her fingers were tightly intertwined with Jan’s under the blanket.
When Lagoona had dyed her hair blue, Jan had followed suit with her own, the deep purple slowly beginning to wash out and turning more pastel now. She liked it. She liked how Rosé would lean over in class or at lunch, brush a strand of purple out of her face or bury her nose in it, swearing that Jan’s hair smelled different now. „Not worse, you already smelled disgustingly sweet, but I like this too.“ Lagoona had replied that the chemicals just made Rosé high. That same evening, Rosé shot Jan a text.
sleepover this weekend. your place works?
Yes I am free thanks for asking and yeah, sure 💜 Why so sudden? 🤔
Mum won’t let me dye my hair so we’re doing it at your place.
ROSIE! 😧
She won’t let you come over anymore if you continue like this! 😢
chill , she doesn’t know you did the stick n poke.
Well, I didn’t want to in the first place 🙅‍♀️ it looks like you’re in a gang with those finger tattoos. ☠️
What Color did you get for your hair?
you’ll see baby
And that’s how they ended up here, their faces stuffed with marshmallows and sour candy, Rosé’s damp curls now a bright, almost neon pink, pooling around her head like a halo as it slowly dried and Jan laying beside her, watching her breathe as time ticked by. Jan was pretty proud of the job she’d done on Rosé, the dye was pretty even and they had only made a small mess in the bathroom. It was hard to focus on the dye though when Rosé tried her best to distract Jan, even with her head leaned over the bathtub.
„Lagoona kissed Jaremy last Tuesday.“
Jan had almost dropped the shampoo bottle. They had known about Lagoona‘s crush for the longest time, but Jan had not expected her to act on it. „Wow“, she mumbled, „Now I’m the only one who hasn’t had her first kiss yet.“
Rosé‘s huff echoed off the tub walls. „You’re fifteen Jan, that’s okay. Who cares anyways? Boys suck hard at kissing.“
Jan snorted. „And what am I supposed to do, kiss a girl?“
„I have.“
Jan’s hands came to a sudden halt, palms resting against Rosé‘s wet scalp. „You have?“ There was a moment of silence.
„I’m not supposed to tell because she’s dating Trevor and all, but we played spin the bottle after the hockey game and-“
Whatever Rosé said after that didn’t reach Jan’s consciousness. Denali. Pretty, short Denali with the long braided ponytail. Rosé had kissed her. Why? Jan wore her hair in a ponytail sometimes too … Stop!
She shook her head swiftly, returning to massaging Color all over Rosé‘s head. But the image of Rosé kissing another girl lingered in the back of her mind all evening.
Especially now, as her sleeping form laid so close to Jan. She wore some old Britney Spears shirt, the upper half stained all pink now. Her rosy lips were parted slightly and she snored gently. Not very loudly, just soft little huffs and vibrations. Usually, Jan fell asleep to the sound of it in minutes. But tonight, there was too much on her chest. She swallowed hard, eyes fixed on the ceiling above her. She spoke into the emptiness above her, into the space between her and Rosé.
„You know“, it felt odd to talk to no one in particular, but Jan knew the only way she’d find any rest tonight was to say it out loud, „I think I‘d like to kiss a girl too. Not Denali though! She‘s way too tiny and she’s always with the Dance Club. I can’t kiss Lagoona either, she likes Jaremy. I’m sure Crystal would kiss me if I asked, but Gigi might get jealous. She doesn’t like it when people get too close to Crystal, she always worries the bullies might start again, Jackie told me. Oh, I could kiss Jackie!“ A moment of silence left Jan still restless, nervously tracing the parts of Rosé‘s fingers where she knew the tattoos were. The ones she had sketched out for her. „But I barely know Jackie. I want to know my first kiss, it should be all romantic with butterflies in my stomach and all. I want to know that the other person won’t tell anyone. And we should trust each other too.“ She let out a deep sigh. „I’d like to kiss you, Rosé.“
A breath of silence. Another one. Then, Rosé’s body shifted, throwing her arms up with a groan. Her voice muffled by her arms, both thrown over her head, hiding her face. „Hey Jan“, She sounded drowsy, still half asleep. “Can you say that again later when i wake up and i'm able to comprehend what you just said.”
Jan flinched, she did not expect Rosé to actually hear her. Which, well, she didn’t actually. A soft sigh escaped her lips. „It was nothing, don’t worry about it. Don’t get dye on the blanket please.“ With that, Jan turned to turn off the flickering fairy lights, trying to ignore the coldness of her hand where Rosé had let go of it.

⟹ Interview One: Jimmy Fallon - Mad Libs Theater -> reference video: mgk mad libs
“Welcome back, I’m hanging out with y/n y/l/n! Her new album is streaming everywhere, Apple Music, Spotify, you name it. Uh, y/n I want to do something fun with you and act out a dramatic scene, but first, we have to fill in the blanks. It is time for Mad Lib Theater.”
The intro of Mad Lib Theater plays and y/n readjusts herself on the seat to look at Jimmy, “Alright. So here’s how this works. I’m going to ask you for some silly words - nouns, verbs, adjectives, et cetera - and they’ll all be written onto our cue cards here, as we’re doing this. And then we’re gonna act out a dramatic Mad Libs scene. Are you ready for this?”
“Thank god I went to fourth grade.”
Jimmy laughs along with the audience and uncaps the marker, “Okay. Here we go. I want a noun that starts with a C.”
“Candle.”
“Candle’s good. Adjective.”
“Sweaty.”
“Type of bug.”
“Mosquito.”
“Animal.”
“Elephant.”
“A chain restaurant.”
“Chipotle. I used to work there.”
“Chipotle?”
“Yeah.”
Jimmy continues, “Noun.”
“Jersey.”
“Like New Jersey or a sports Jersey?”
“Oh, uh New Jersey.”
“A kitchen appliance.”
“Spatula.”
“A plural noun.”
“Buildings.”
“Sophisticated.”
“I know right.”
“Another animal.”
“A yack.”
“One of the Seven Dwarfs.”
“Dopey.” She looks into the audience and winks.
“Celebrity name.”
“Sabrina Carpenter.”
“Name me a number,”
“13.”
“Just 13, 13-”
“1386.”
“Type of profession.”
“Hockey player.”
“Hockey player? Okay.”
“Wow! Speed round. Here we go. Another plural noun.”
“Mooses?.”
“Uh, okay. Body part. Watch it.”
“Elbow.”
“Phrase that you would say if you bumped into Leonardo DiCaprio on the street.”
The audience starts yelling, lots of fans of y/n knowing how much she loves this movie as it takes her no time to come up with an answer, “Why did you let go, Jack? You should have stayed on the door. You should’ve got on the door.”
“Why did you let go, Jack? There was room for you on the door.” Y/n repeats herself for the man as he writes down her answer.
“Another noun.” Y/n’s flustered, “You do this one.”
“Burrito.”
“Burrito, okay.”
“Type of drink.”
“Bloody Mary.”
“Another celebrity.”
“Elizabeth Olsen.”
“Verb ending in i-n-g.”
“Slaying.”
Jimmy busts out laughing, “Slaying. This is fun doing Mad Libs with you.”
“What would you shout if you sat down in a wet seat?”
“Fudge that’s wet.”
“‘Fudge that’s wet?’ I love you.”
“First concert you ever attended.”
“Madonna.”
“Wow. Madonna. You know what, that makes sense.”
“A professional athlete.”
Without any hesitation, y/n blurts out, “Nico Hischier.”
“What?”
Y/n hides her increasingly growing red cheeks, “He’s my favorite hockey player. He’s the captain of the New Jersey Devils.”
There were some hockey or Devils fans in the crowd and they let out a couple of cheers. Jimmy wiggles his eyebrows at the girl before continuing, “Another verb ending in I-N-G.”
“Blushing.”
“Yes, very good. You’re blushing right now.”
Y/n laughs, “Two words that rhyme.”
“Swiss. Kiss.”
“A long, silly word.”
“Iridocyclitis!” A man shouts from the audience.
“What?!
“Is that a disease? Is that an actual-”
“Yeah, what is that?”
Jimmy attempts to spell out a word.
“Iridocyclitis. Yeah, of course. Alright, now, we’ve filled out the words for our scene. Good look to our cue card. So sorry, Roman. Are you ready to perform our scene?”
“I don’t know now.”
“Let’s go, let's do this.”
『••✎••』
Jimmy and y/n stand on the building after coming out in superhero costumes, “Am I green?”
“No, yeah, you’re green. Yeah, you’re green. I’m red.”
“Candle girl! What are you doing here?!”
“Oh, hello, Captain Stinky.”
“Please call me by my nickname, Mr. Mosquito.”
“I’m here for the same reason you are here - to rescue the elephant stuck on the roof of this Chipotle.”
“I knew there was trouble tonight when I saw my signal in the sky- a light projected in the shape of… New Jersey.”
“Well, using our powers this rescue should be simple. I’m faster than a speeding spatula, and everything I touch turns to buildings.” Y/n says before Jimmy responds, “I have the agility of a yak. And when I get really dopey, I turn into Sabrina Carpenter.”
Y/n starts laughing, unable to control herself, “Wow. I must tell you, my back story is complicated. When I was 1386 years old, I was… I was once bitten by a hockey player.”
She then spits out more laughter and doubles over to hold her stomach, “Oh my- Oh my god. And ever since, I’ve been able to emanate mooses from my elbow.”
“Why did you let go, Jack?” Jimmy holds his hand out before y/n places her own on his shoulder, “I know. It’s amazing, but with great power comes great burrito.” Both of the two laugh before controlling themselves and continuing the scene.
“Your story reminds me of my own. I became a superhero after I fell into a tub of radioactive bloody Mary. But listen. We must complete this rescue. In the trapped elephant’s collar, there’s a USB drive that contains images of Elizabeth Olsen slaying.”
Y/n snorts and covers her mouth quickly before laughing, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I thought it’d be much worse.”
“And as a warning, I do have one weakness.”
“What is it?”
“Madonna.”
“That’s okay. Just remember what Professor Nico Hischier told us. He said if we’re ever in a situation like this,” Jimmy pulls out a gold button, “You press this button, and we will both immediately start blushing. Here we go.”
Y/n laughs and the two start slapping their cheeks for them to redden, “Our blushing is causing the elephant to be saved.”
She looks at Jimmy and then the cue cards and shakes her head, “Swiss kiss! We did it!”
“Yes, let’s high-five and say the secret superhero catchphrase on ‘three’. One, two, three.”
They both squint in an attempt to read the word, “Iri-dira-calaptus.”
“Dude!”
“Yeah!”
“And scene!”
The two laugh as the scene ends and Jimmy tries to get his words out, “My thanks to y/n y/l/n.”

⟹ Interview Two: James Corden - Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts -> reference video: sygofyg w/ ewan mcgregor and niall horan
The theme music plays as the camera cuts to James, Ewan, Niall, and y/n sitting at a table with a rotating top and a bunch of food laid on it.
“Okay. so let’s take a look at the food that we have here.” James proceeds to spin the top of the table to showcase the food, “We have a salmon smoothie. A beef tongue.”
Ewan sticks his tongue out and makes a noise causing y/n to laugh as she holds her napkin up to her face, “This is disgusting.”
“Bird saliva.” The audience yells in disgust and Niall makes a whiffing motion with his hands, “The smell just gets stronger and stronger.”
“A scorpion. Fish head. Hot sauce. “
“Is that safe to do hot sauce?” Ewan asks as he looks towards James, “We’re gonna find out.”
“And finally, bull penis.”
“Yay!” Y/n claps.
“So here’s how this works. Ewan and I will be asking questions to Niall and y/n. Now if someone on your team chooses not to answer their question, you both will have to eat the disgusting food. Have we got it?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, Niall-” y/n cuts in quickly, “I’m already mad.”
“You’re up first. Niall, I am going to give you-”
Niall points to one of the foods, “Please don’t do that. My acid reflux will freak out.”
“Please don’t. Not the scorpion.”
“The salmon smoothie.” Y/n squeals.
“Here is your question, So if you answer the question you don’t have to eat, if you don’t answer the question, you both have to have a big glug of the salmon smoothie.” Niall laughs, “I don’t know what I’m more nervous about, the question or the smoothie.”
“Well, I’ve just seen the question and I think it might be the question. Niall, who is your least favorite member or One Direction?”
Niall swears but the bleep covers it as he goes to clink smoothies with y/n. Y/n looks at him, “I think you should drink, I am not your publicist, but I don’t know that you should.”
“I think I might just take the daily mail hit tomorrow, and throw out a crap answer. I’m trying to help y/n.” The said girl laughs and hits him, “If it’ll help you out, I’ll drink it.”
“Don’t think of your teammate, think of your life.”
“What do you think, Niall are you going to go salmon-”
Y/n places the napkin around Niall’s neck to make a bib, “Yeah for future life, yeah, I think I will go with this.” The two pick up smoothies and drink them, well attempting to drink them.
James hands them spoons and they both put them in their mouths. Y/n immediately gags and goes to spit it in the trash, getting some in her hair. James and Ewan immediately burst into laughter as they watched the two.
Ewan looks at y/n, “Are you alright?”
“It is not so much the taste, it’s the texture. It's like having salmon yogurt.” James looks at y/n, “Oh and there is some in the hair to keep for later. Right, so now y/n, you will ask your question to me.”
“Oh well, well, well.”
“Which would you like me and Ewan to have?”
“Have a look at the question first.” Niall leans over to help y/n, it was honestly like having a brother and sister team up against someone.
“Oh, wow. Getting tactical.”
“Oh, he is going to eat. I know– Scorpion.” Y/n turns the table so the scorpion sits in front of the two men on the other side.
“Scorpion. I think that is the easiest one.”
“Well, yeah, you say that until it is in your face.”
“Your question is, James, name one artist who you have turned down for carpool karaoke.” The crowd lets out a bunch of oos, “How long have you got?”
“Cheers mate,” James cheers with Ewan, and they eat the scorpions, seemingly without any problem.
“What is y/n going to eat?”
“I think I’m going for the tongue.”
“And it’s one each. You have to eat the whole tongue.” Y/n looks at him in disbelief and he just shakes his head, “I’m just kidding.”
“Oh, this is quite a cute one. Y/n you once said you had a favorite hockey player, Nico Hischier, is it true you might have a crush on the Swiss man?”
Y/n immediately blushes and places her head in her hands as everyone laughs, “Oh come on, this is an easy one.”
“Oh shit.” The bleep censors the word as y/n looks at the tongue, “Yes, it’s true. I do have a crush on Nico Hischier.”
The whole crowd goes wild and Niall playfully hits her on the arm, “Niall what would you like to give Ewan?”
“Ewan you’re up. Truthfully, all I’ve been thinking about is that saliva. Surely the question gets better.”
“It does. Sorry, boys.”
“Jeez, again, back to the bird saliva.”
Y/n looks at the boys, “How do they get it?” James and Ewan playfully try to mimic what they think happened.
Niall pulls out the card and y/n reads it, immediately bursting into laughter, “This is the greatest question ever.”
The Irish man looks up at Ewan with a grin on his face, “Ewan, have you ever shit your pants?”
Everyone laughs uncontrollably for at least 30 seconds, “The show is only an hour, Ewan.”
“I mean I could lie, there is only one or two people that would know.”
“I am really enjoying this.”
“Well, I guess, yeah.”
“Hang on, wait how old were you?”
“Well, I was very young at the time.”
“No, no there didn’t have any age in there, did it?” Ewan defends.
“Well, we’ve all technically shit our pants as babies.” Y/n looks at the man.
“That is all I was referring to. I might have shit my pants in the 90s one time.”
“Ewan McGregor. Spilling it.”
“Okay, Niall I am going to give you guys.”
“Please not the hot sauce.”
“Some beef tongue, are you ready? Okay.”
“I’m going to have to eat this, aren’t I?”
“Niall, you have dated both Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding. It is your last night on Earth, who would you rather spend it with?”
“Just it doesn’t hurt anyone.” Y/n says, “Y/n’s going ‘it doesn’t hurt anyone’.”
Niall places his arm on the girl’s chair, “I’m afraid it does, love.”
“The trouble is, it’s not really your last night so someone’s gonna be upset tomorrow.”
“Okay, I would, 'cause it’s the last night on Earth, Ellie is a big fan of Planet Earth by David Attenborough so I would sit and watch that with her, and for that reason, Ellie Goulding.”
“Y/n it is your turn, you now will ask me a question and select a food.”
“You know what, you guys seem so keen on the beef tongue, giving it to us time and time again, so we will get revenge. James, you are definitely going to eat that, so have you got your knife ready.”
“Yup.”
“Which Late Night Host do you prefer, Kimmel or Fallon?”
“That’s tricky. Oh, dear are we eating this?” The two bite into the tongue and y/n gags as she watches them.
“That was Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts. Big thanks to Y/n Y/l/n, Niall Horan, and Ewan McGregor, we’ll be right back, everybody!”

⟹ Interview Three: Nico Hischier - Postgame Interview
“So Nico, I hate to ask you about this but there have been these videos floating around about y/n y/l/n talking about you, have you heard about this?”
Nico nods his head as he looks at the interviewer, “Yeah, actually I have. Jack actually showed me this video and let me tell you, that was the last thing I was expecting.”
“Everyone is dying to know after she came out and explicitly stated that she liked you, do you like her, or at least have a tiny crush on her?”
“Yeah, well you know, I haven’t actually met her so I can’t say I like her but I do think she’s cute and that’s all I’m going to say about this.”
The interviewer nods, “Thanks Nico.”

Y/n's pov:
"Baby?" I asked Mat and looked at him as we were having a breakfast in our kitchen together.
"Yeah?" Mat responded, not looking up from his phone that he was probably scrolling through Instagram on at the moment. I hesitated for a minute, looking back down at the half eaten meal on my plate before speaking up again.
"What do you, clearly hypothetically, think about the idea of.. having kids?" I asked as I started picking at my food, my heart beating hard in my chest. When I got no answer from Mat, I looked up at him to find him looking at me with raised eyebrows.
"What?" I questioned. He cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck, looking down at the table then back into my eyes as he started to speak.
"Well um.. I mean, kids are great and everything, and I would love to have children of my own at some point in the future for sure, but I think we're still a bit young for that, you know? I mean, you just turned 23 and I'm turning 24 next month." he said and took a sip of his coffee.
"Yeah.. yeah sure, you're right. We've got plenty of time." I said with a nervous laugh, hoping he wouldn't suspect anything.
"Why were you asking anyway?" he asked as he turned his attention back to his phone.
"As I said, just hypothetically." I said, forcing a little smile. He hummed before locking his phone and standing up from the table, taking his plate to the sink and finishing his coffee.
"Well I gotta go now, see you after the practice?" he asked as he came closer to me to peck my lips.
"Sure."
"I love you." he said, winking at me and giving me a cheeky smile as he walked backwards out of the kitchen.
"I love you too."
After Mat left, I sat at the table by myself for another 15 minutes, thinking about what I was going to do.
'At some point in the future'
Little did he know the point would come in less than eight months.
~~
"So, have you told Mat yet?" Lauren, Jordan's wife, asked me excitedly while we were standing outside of the locker room after a game, waiting for our men to come out. I didn't say anything and just looked at her, the guilty look in my eyes giving the answer away.
"Y/n! Why haven't you told him yet? It'll start showing soon you know." she scolded me slightly and I looked down at my shoes, picking nervously at my nails.
"I know. It's just.. I'm scared." I admitted quietly as I picked my head up to look at her again.
"Why? You know Mat would never leave you or anything. He's so head over heels for you!" she tried to reason but I shook my head, feeling my eyes get a little watery. Hormones.
"How can you be so sure? I actually asked him what he thought about having kids and he said he doesn't want them yet! That we're too young and.. I'm just scared." I whispered the last part as I looked at her. Her eyes softened a little at my explanation and she brought me into a hug.
"You know why I'm so sure he wouldn't leave you?" she asked and rubbed my back a little in an attempt to calm me down a little.
"Why?"
"Because if he did, I would end him." she explained and I giggled. Feeling a little better, I was about to pull away from the hug when I suddenly heard a cheery voice that I quickly recognized saying "Group hug!" and I felt one strong arm wrap around me, the other being wrapped around Lauren.
"You really need to find yourself a girl, Beau." I laughed and we stayed in the hug for a bit before we all pulled away, seeing that Mat and Jordan have already come out of the locker room as well. Anthony placed his hand over his heart in fake hurt and I laughed once more, punching his shoulder in a joking manner before I felt two strong arms wrap themselves around my waist. I turned around to face Mat and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Hey babe." I said, giving him what I intended to be a sweet short kiss, but apparently he had different plans. Taking one hand from my waist, he placed it on the back of my head and kept me from pulling away, deepening the kiss. I pulled away after a few moments in need of air and Mathew whined at the loss of contact.
"What was that for?" I asked him as I blushed, trying to catch my breath.
"I missed you." he responded simply and leaned back in, kissing my nose.
"You literally saw me just a few hours ago you dork." I told him as I played with the hair on the back of his neck, looking into his gorgeous hazel eyes.
"I know, but I miss you every single minute I spend without you." he said, looking at me with, soft eyes. I felt myself blush some more, still not taking my eyes off my man.
"Wow, you flatter me Mathew Barzal."
"I try." Mat winked at me. We looked for each other for a minute before we heard someone clearing their throat, snapping us both back into reality.
"Alright, alright you lovebirds, enough with the PDA. You're so cute it makes me sick." Tito said as he made a disgusted face.
"Oh shut up Beau, you're just jealous." Mat said as we both pulled away from each other and intertwined our fingers together, laughing together with our friends as we all slowly started to make our way out of the arena.
~~
"Go ahead honey, I'd like to talk to Y/n here for a quick minute." Lauren said, kissing her husband and letting go off his arm that she was previously holding onto.
"Is everything okay?" he asked, looking at his wife.
"Yeah, don't worry. Just some girl stuff." she told him. He nodded and looked at Mat who looked at me with concern in his eyes.
"Go babe. I'll catch up in 5." I assured Mat, giving him a quick peck on his lips and he nodded, turning around and walking over to where our cars were parked with Tito and Jordan. I took a breath and turned to look at Lauren.
"You're going to tell him tonight, right?" she asked, looking right at me. I stayed quiet for a moment before answering.
"Yeah.. probably." I said as I have her a tight lipped smile. She smiled back at me sympathetically.
"Alright, although I'm 99,9% sure everything is going to go just fine, just in case doesn't, you can always come to mine and Jordan's place, okay?" she offered.
"Thank you." I nodded and gave her an appreciative smile.
"Good luck." she said with a smile and gave me a quick hug. I mumbled a faint 'thanks' and we pulled away. After that we caught up with our men, saying our goodbyes as we all went to our respective cars.
"What was that about?" Mat asked me as we got into our car.
"Nothing. Don't worry." I said, but he just looked at me in a way that told me he definitely didn't believe me.
"Babe I know you better than I know myself. Just tell me." he looked at me with gentle eyes and reached for my hand, lacing our fingers together.
"We'll talk once we get home, yeah?" I offered. He looked at me for a moment with concern still visible on features and then he nodded, bringing my hand up to his lips and kissing my knuckles before starting the car.
The whole car ride home was silent except for the faint sound of music playing. I was looking our of the window the entire time, trying to think of a way to tell Mat what I had to, Mathew giving me concerned glances here and there through the ride.
~~
"Alright, we're talking." Mat said immediately after he closed the door of our apartment behind himself, only stopping to drop his hockey bag and take off his shoes before he took my hand and dragged me over to the couch in our living room. He sat down on it and looked up at me expectantly. I sighed, running my hand through my hair before sitting down beside him, looking nervously at my hands in my lap.
"Promise you won't get mad?" I asked quietly, picking at my nails. Mat placed one of his hands under my chin, gently picking up my head, making me look at him.
"I promise. Please tell me Y/n, you're starting to worry me." he encouraged me, his voice laced with concern.
"I'm pregnant." I quietly blurted out, feeling tears starting to slowly appear in my eyes. Mat didn't say anything for a moment as he just looked at me, processing what I had just told him, his hand dropping from my chin.
"You're.. we're.. okay, well this is unexpected." he said, finally looking away from me and letting out a long sigh as he rubbed his face with his hand.
"I'm so sorry Mat I- I didn't mean for this to happen and I-" I started rambling as the tears slowly started to escape my eyes, but I was quickly cut off by Mathew.
"Whoa, slow down there, what are you apologising for?" he asked, wiping my tears off with his thumbs and looking at me with soft eyes.
"You're not mad?" I asked in a quiet voice.
"Why would I be mad?"
"Because.. because you said the other day that you think we're still too young to have a baby and all so I just figured-" I was cut off once again, but this time by a soft kiss being placed on my lips. After we pulled away, Mat leaned his forehead on mine.
"Babe.. I'm not mad, okay? This is great, and although we weren't exactly planning it, I already know that you will be the best mom ever to our little one, and I promise I'll try to be the best dad I can possibly be. It's fine babe, it's all good. We're in this together." Mat said in a hushed voice, placing soft kisses all over my face in order to calm me down.
"I love you so much Mat." I told him, getting lost in his beautiful eyes.
"I love you so much more. And I'll always be here for you and our little one, please remember that." he promised, brushing some of my hair out of my face.
"Forever and always?"
"Forever and always."

BnHA Chapter 300: Days of Our Todorokis
Previously on BnHA: Hawks was all “hey Jeanist, wanna go on a road trip with me to my mom’s house?” Jeanist was all “you know it,” and so they hopped into Jeanist’s jercedes and took off. Hawks took a nap and had a flashback to his Dickensian childhood living in a abject poverty with his jerk mom and jerk dad, thinking heroes were make-believe until one day Endeavor arrested his dad and Baby Hawks was all “OH SHIT.” And then he saved a bunch of people, and the HPSC was all “what do we have here,” and blah blah blah, you know the rest. Back in the present, Hawks was all “well my life is currently in shambles, but on the plus side there’s no one bossing me around anymore so that’s pretty cool,” and then decided he was going to talk to Endeavor. Fandom was all “I can’t believe Hawks would side with his childhood hero over the man who burned his wings off and posted a video calling him a violent murderer who took after his abusive dad,” so that was fun and stuff. I can’t wait to see what piping fresh takes this new chapter will bring.
Today on BnHA: Our old friend Carbonation Carl tries to loot a Starbucks and gets his ass kicked by a senior citizen. Society is all “YEAH, WE’RE REALLY STARTING TO GET SICK OF THIS SHIT.” Old Man Samurai is all “this room won’t stop me because I can’t read it” and abruptly decides to retire, which, fun fact, is literally THE LEAST HELPFUL THING ANYONE HAS EVER DONE. Anyway so then a bunch of other punkasses follow suit, and while I won’t say that I’m actually starting to root for Stain to kill some peeps, just for the record I’m not not saying that either. Back in the hospital, Endeavor cries some tears because his life sucks, and then is confronted by his entire family, LED BY QUEEN REI, FIRST OF HER NAME, BACK IN BUSINESS AND LARGE AND IN CHARGE. Rei is all “fuck feeling sorry for yourself, we have a rogue Murder Son on the loose” and I swear to god I have never felt so alive.
so here we go! and just for the record, even though the last two chapters have been phenomenal, I don’t necessarily have any sky-high expectations for chapter 300, mostly because chapters 100 and 200 consisted of Mei Boobs, and Toadette and her horrific quirk lmao. so go ahead Horikoshi, what are you gonna pull out of your hat for this one
oh, back to this stuff again. sob
Tumblr media
I guess there was only so much time we could spend having hospital antics and exploring Hawks’s past before we got back to dealing with the whole “the world has gone to absolute shit” issue huh, lol
omg
Tumblr media
what’s with these bizarrely cute Noumus. why do I want to pet them
so the narrative text is going on about how people have been super paranoid about the Noumu ever since the USJ incident a year ago. so yeah, I guess the fact that there are now a bunch of them confirmed to be running around is really freaking people out even on top of everything else
wtf is happening here
Tumblr media
what did this poor lil glass ever do to anyone. r.i.p.
OH MY FUCKING GOD
Tumblr media
SODA SAM IS BACK ON THE LAM
tsk tsk tsk. my man has graduated from snatching purses to raiding cafes. going after that big money. this man has no business sense whatsoever lmao
OH BUT WATCH IT NOW!!
Tumblr media
OH SNAP THE PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING BACK. WHATCHA GONNA DO NOW SAM
THIS MAN IS 172 YEARS OLD AND HE’S NOT HERE TO PLAY GAMES!!
Tumblr media
WTF IS HE LIGHTING THIS THING ON FIRE OR SOME SHIT. GETTEM GRANDPA YEAHHHH HE’S CHARGING AT EM YEAHHHHHH
lmao so that was fun. and now we’re cutting to Wash!! omg. look at him
Tumblr media
he’s so dedicated. too bad you don’t have a car like Best Jeanist. probably takes a while when you’re just running everywhere
you see?? you were too slow!!
Tumblr media
NOOOO, GRANDPA. he defeated Pepsi Pete, but lost his life in the process. this is too tragic
anyway so the good news is that the cafe has been saved! but the bad news is, there really isn’t much of a cafe left. huh. I guess that’s one of the reasons why people are supposed to get a license to use their quirks like this
oh snap and now everyone is coming outside, and they’re none too happy to see poor old Wash over here
Tumblr media
seriously Wash, get a bicycle or something. also the way this guy is gesturing so dramatically with his hand in this sort of “YOU SEE!! YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!” manner is sending me
OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
HE SPEAKS. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS. IT MEANS JEANS PUNS ARE YESTERDAY’S NEWS, FOLKS!! MAKE WAY FOR THE LAUNDRY PUNS. CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH THIS ALL... UNFOLD
“the heroes had dwindled away” okay real talk you guys, it is literally only a matter of time before they press-gang the children into picking up their slack. I still don’t know how to feel about that, but it is happening one way or the other regardless. Child Soldiers 2 Electric Boogaloo. wonder if we’ll see a rise in vigilante action as well
OHO WHAT’S THIS? THIS IS A CHAPTER OF GRANDPAS HUH
-- no fucking way
Tumblr media
WOW. WOW. WOWWWWWW
wow. so he didn’t do a fucking thing while the rest of the top ten were being turned into red mist in the previous arc, and now that it’s all over and they need his help more than ever, he decides... THAT IT’S TIME TO RETIRE. holy shit. “fuck you” doesn’t even begin to cover it my guy. you stand there and soak up those boos you coward
ohhhhhhh shiiiiit you guys. oh shit
Tumblr media
the “I am not here” breaks my fucking heart for real though y’all. oh man. everything he worked for is gone just like that
(ETA: okay so a couple of the takes I’ve seen on this make it seem like All Might is somehow the bad guy here?? “this is what happens when society puts a bunch of glorified cops on a pedestal”, “finally the cracks in hero society are showing”, etc. etc. so, just a friendly reminder that this isn’t happening because of too much trust and a lack of critical thinking; this is happening because the villains killed all the heroes and broke a bunch of murderers out of jail. it’s happening because an organized league of terrorists succeeded in terrorizing, and so society is now understandably awash in fear and panic. like, it’s just wild to me that AFO is RIGHT FUCKING THERE, and yet week after week fandom still has their “IT’S ALL THE HEROES’ FAULT” signs still up on their lawns. BUT WHATEVER, MOVING ON.)
also though, so exactly how much time is passing here now? I wanted to go straight back to the hospital and see what happens with Deku and the Todorokis. please don’t tell me we’re jumping ahead sob. my aaaaangst
OH SHIT
Tumblr media
STAIN. LISTEN UP BUDDY. I KNOW WE’VE HAD OUR DIFFERENCES, AND I STILL DESPISE YOU FOR CRIPPLING TENSEI AND TRYING TO KILL MY BEST BOY TENYA. BUT AS IT HAPPENS, THERE ARE ONE OR TWO OTHER HEROES OUT THERE NOW WHO I WOULDN’T MIND YOU PAYING A VISIT I’M JUST SAYING
LOL BUT IT ACTUALLY ISN’T THIS MAN, FFFFFF
Tumblr media
sob. yeah I was talking about Old Man Samurai actually but YEAH. HEY THERE ENJI
also is this entire hospital actually run by characters from Super Mario Bros though. first Yoshi and now this guy, come the fuck on that is not a coincidence
lmao they stuck him in another one of these cavernous creepy hospital rooms
Tumblr media
wtf is it with Horikoshi and these giant fucking rooms lately. Kacchan’s in chapter 298, then Tomie’s colossal house furnished with like one table and a TV, and now this. and the weirdest thing about it though is that “huge space with nothing to fill it up” is like the exact opposite of what you’ll usually find in Japanese homes lol
so now Enji is just sitting there thinking things like “my head is fuzzy” and “I’m alive” lmao okay. not quite all there yet, huh. I’ll give you a minute
I’m so fucking curious as to who his first visitor is going to be omg. either way it’s going to be interesting af, and either way fandom is probably going to feel some way about it but OH WELL
okay now his thoughts are getting more coherent! and he’s remembering Touya, and feeling regret for freezing up and forcing Shouto to deal with everything instead
!!! OH HERE GOES BRACE YOURSELVES Y’ALL IT’S ABOUT TO GET SPICY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NO TOUYA PLEASE DON’T CRY HONEY NO PLEASE
ohhhhhhh man
Tumblr media
okay, I mean I didn’t expect you to, but so instead then you’re just going to do... what? lie there and wallow in regret and self-pity for the rest of your life? son you know that’s not how we deal with our problems here in Shounen
though also, I totally do get it though. honestly, thinking on it, I probably would have been disappointed with any other response. but so this is where the rest of his family (including his adopted son) come into play now though, because like it or not they’re all in this thing together. and so friends, I am once again asking you WHO IS GOING TO BE THE ONE TO VISIT ENJI FIRST
AHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
KRANCH!!!! OMG AND THE OTHERS ARE SO TINY NEXT TO HIM THAT I ALMOST DIDN’T SEE THEM AT FIRST. IT’S BECAUSE THEY’RE TWENTY MILES AWAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS REGULATION HOCKEY RINK OF A ROOM
holy shit I’m so excited lkjlklhlglkasdsjldfk
SDKFJLSKHLKJL
Tumblr media
the way she has him by his collar lmaoooo. “lol nah you’re not going anywhere pal.” damn straight, siblings have to be ride or die in situations like this. banding together for survival. strength in numbers
OH MY STARS I’M JUST WARNING YOU NOW THAT I’M ABOUT TO DISSECT EVERY LAST REMAINING PANEL OF THIS CHAPTER PROBABLY YOU GUYS. WE COULD BE HERE A WHILE
Tumblr media
love how Fuyu has absolutely no idea how to segue into THE SINGLE MOST AWKWARD CONVERSATION SHE’S EVER HAD, so she just GOES FOR IT in pure small talk mode like they’re meeting up for brunch somewhere
I KNOW IT’S A SMALL THING, BUT I APPRECIATE THAT THE FIRST THING ENJI ASKS IS WHETHER THEY’RE OKAY
lastly while I can’t wait for more of this delicious Natsu angst, I also just have to say that Enji has as much reason to cry right now as anyone on the planet. you can’t deny that being confronted by your not-dead-but-you-thought-he-was-dead son who’s all “SURPRISE DAD I GREW UP TO BE A MASS MURDERER AND I HATE YOU AND EVERYTHING IS ALL YOUR FAULT AND NOW I’M GONNA MAIM YOUR OTHER KID” with a side order of “EVERYONE HATES YOU AND SOCIETY IS CRUMBLING AND NOTHING WILL EVER BE GOOD EVER AGAIN” is enough to bum pretty much anyone out. there’s a Pagliacci the Clown joke here somewhere. BUT DOCTOR, I AM THE NUMBER ONE HERO
oh man lol he is seriously falling apart
Tumblr media Tumblr media
damn. like you guys, I’m sorry, go ahead and cancel me, but I do feel compassion for the man. it’s therapeutic for me to see an abuser actually feel remorse and be truly sorry and want to change and want to make it up to his family. and it’s also compelling as fuck to read a narrative about a family that’s trying to grapple with that, because let me tell you straight up, as someone who’s done a version of that song and dance -- it is exhausting. it is a piping hot mess. it’s a gigantic mishmosh of extremely volatile emotions that all somehow all contradict one another. love, hurt, hope, anger, betrayal, resentment, attachment, longing. it’s something you can both be desperate for and also want nothing at all to do with. and attempting to portray all of that and write about it is a monumental task, and one which Horikoshi has done so, so delicately thus far, and damn but I appreciate it. anyway, so I’m here and I’m ready for my latest helping of Todoroki Fam Feels you guys
GASP
Tumblr media
oh man. OHMANOHMANOHMAN. CAN IT REALLY BE. IS THIS THE REDEMPTION ARC OF CHAPTERS 100 AND 200???
LMAO SHE’S ALL “WE ALL FEEL BAD YOU JACKASS STOP CRYING ABOUT IT”
Tumblr media
LAY INTO HIM REI!! SORRY ENJI YOUR PITY PARTY HAS BEEN CANCELLED IN FAVOR OF A “SO WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT” PARTY COURTESY OF QUEEN ELSA OVER HERE. THE PEOPLE TOOK A VOTE AND WE WANT LESS WHINING AND MORE ACTION
oh my god look at this lady folks
Tumblr media
NOTE THE HAIR BLOWING IN THE NONEXISTENT WIND. NOW WE KNOW WHERE SHOUTO GOT THIS POWER FROM
(ETA: btw guys, seeing Rei handle this crisis like an absolute champ despite everything she’s been through is everything, though. I’m reminded of Hawks’s line last week about people sometimes unexpectedly finding liberation when they’re backed into a corner. like things may be shit but goddammit her kiddos need her.)
THE CHAPTER IS ALREADY ENDING SOB, IT’S ONLY A 17-PAGER THIS WEEK, BUT GODDAMN WHAT A WAY TO CLOSE
Tumblr media
oh my god. oh my god oh my god. AND FUCK YOU HORIKOSHI FOR CUTTING IT OFF THERE sob. it’s like each week the wait for the next chapter becomes more painful. the Todofam is about to get real, and on top of that Hawks is gonna crash the party at some point down the line, and on top of that we’re still waiting for Kacchan to have his own heartfelt discussion about What The Fuck Are We Supposed To Do Next with his best friend who’s currently in a coma. all I want to do with my life is read about these three things, and all I can do is simply wait as they are portioned out in agonizing, addicting little installments every week
anyway! tune in next time as we answer the question of whether or not fandom will finally run its train of logic all the way through to its natural conclusion and somehow manage to cancel Noted Abuse Apologist Todoroki Fucking Rei. don’t act like it can’t happen. you all know nothing is sacred lol. anyways but I’m ready for anything lol, bring it

Sin in Your Skin [A.B.] [M.B.]
Tumblr media
A/N: Wow, I can’t believe I’m actually posting this. I swear the next thing I’m working on will be a real fic with an actual plot and not just smut, but until then... enjoy. This was really hard to write and took me forever to finish, so please let me know what you think of it!
Word count: 6043
Warnings: smut, it’s a threesome
.
You could feel you were getting the attention you wanted the second you leaned against the bar to ask for a glass of water.
It put a smile back on your face after such a weird day. The clouds had been thick, keeping light from the sun away so that even when night fell there was no transition, simply a merging of a dark day into an even darker night.
Your cousin and his boyfriend had invited you out for drinks to make something out of a not so cheerful day. Despite you all living in New York, you rarely ever saw each other. Your lives were busy, so you appreciated getting a chance to catch up, but you were also done with the third wheeling about an hour in.
So, instead of focusing on the cute couple at a table in a corner, you stole glances at two insanely attractive men. They were part of a larger group, all of them taking up two booths although they were mostly standing around the bar. Their eyes were on you too; it made a satisfied smile spread on your face as you turned towards the bartender to thank him and take your drink. This little black dress always got you just the attention you wanted.
The silky material wasn’t tight, but it hugged your curves whenever you moved. The straps were thin, exposing your shoulders and most of your back, so anyone could know you weren’t wearing a bra underneath it. It was the dress you put on when you wanted to feel confident and hopefully go home with someone by the end of the night.
It only took another minute for both men to introduce themselves to you and ask you to join them.
You sat between them in a booth, Anthony to your right and Mat to your left on the outer side of it. There was no one across the table because their friends were all busy at the bar ordering drinks and talking there. The two were nice and easy going as they made conversation, exchanging casual niceties with you. You kept up with it, exchanging a few looks with your cousin on the other side of the bar to see if he was annoyed you ditched him, but he only winked at you.
Of course he’d encourage you.
“You both play hockey?” You focused back on the two men you were with, deciding you could stop worrying about the couple you came here with. You wanted to find out a little more about them before anything happened, and so far you hadn’t gathered much apart from the fact that they were insanely hot.
“We’ve been playing for the same team for a while,” Anthony nodded, shifting a little in his seat so that his leg would brush yours. The rough material of his jeans was enough to make you shiver when you felt it against your bare skin.
His thighs looked massive with the material clinging to them, and so did Mathew’s. Your mind immediately went to what it’d feel like to ride one of their thighs. You were having a hard time deciding which of them you wanted the most.
“Mmh, so, since you do everything together, is it also in your habits to flirt with the same girl at the same time?” You leaned back into your seat as you awaited their answer.
“No, not usually,” Mathew chuckled, dropping his hand onto your knee and slowly sliding it up your thigh when you parted your legs to encourage him. “You like it?”
Even his hand was beautiful, you couldn’t believe you were that pulled to him when he had barely done anything. Anthony wasn’t letting you forget about him either, but he was more subtle. The tips of his fingers were only brushing the skin of your shoulder, tracing small circles on it that affected you more than you were ready to show.
“Only if I don’t have to choose which one of you I’m going home with at the end of the night,” You didn’t even think the bold reply over before the words left your lips, but you didn’t regret it for a second.
“No need for that,” Anthony slid his fingers on your skin to the back of your neck. You couldn’t stop your hips from moving a little at the gesture, and he smiled as he gently began playing with your hair while Mat ran his hand up higher on your thigh. “Mat and I are roommates, and we’re fine with sharing you, if you’re down for that of course,”
You bit your lip for a second as you tried to make a smart decision. You could barely think with them so close, and you were the one who suggested the idea first after all.
“I might be,” You took another sip of your water as you weighed your options.
On one hand, you were more than interested and they obviously were too. On the other hand, they were twice your size and going home with them may not be the safest thing to do. You wanted a little bit more time at the bar with them to decide if they were trustworthy. It helped their case that the guys they were with had wedding bands on their fingers and their wives around them.
“You want anything?” Mathew lifted his hand from your thigh and tapped the edge of your glass.
“I’m alright, thanks though,” You shook your head. As much as you wanted to trust them and go home with them, there was no way you’d ever let a man you didn’t know buy you a drink without watching it being poured and taking it from the bar yourself.
“Be right back,” He got up anyway and headed towards the bathroom rather than the bar.
You fell back into a casual conversation with Anthony as you turned back to him, his hand still caressing your neck softly. You wanted to melt right into him, but he seemed to sense the remainder of your hesitation. He didn’t want to scare you away by making a move too fast, but the way your tongue poked out to wet your lips made him forget all rational thoughts.
He placed two fingers under your chin to tilt your head up, his other hand cupping the back of your neck more firmly before he leaned in and let his nose brush against yours. A wave of warmth flooded through you and you shifted in your seat, letting your eyes flutter shut as you closed the distance between your lips.
Your back arched into him as you tried to press yourself closer to his body. Anthony caught your lower lip between his teeth and earned a muffled whimper from you before his hand slid from your neck down your shoulder and to your waist. You dropped your hand on his thigh to feel more of him and slid it up slowly, getting a quiet groan out of him while he shifted in his seat.
You weren’t the only one getting worked up.
You parted a few seconds later, neither of you wanting things to get too far while you were still in public, but from the way he made you feel, you knew there was no way you’d be going home without him.
“Missed me?” Mathew joined you again a second later, his hand going back to your thigh without hesitation. He grinned at the small noise you did your best to conceal when he made your dress ride up to trace patterns on your inner thigh.
“Something like that,” Your hips moved involuntarily in response to his teasing and the way Anthony massaged the back of your neck.
“We really should head out,” Mat leaned closer to whisper into your ear. You felt your panties get wet just from the sound of his voice.
A moan threatened to escape you when his lips found the sensitive spot right under your ear, and he didn’t miss the way you shivered. His teeth grazed your skin before he sucked lightly and ran his tongue over it.
“Okay, that’s me convinced,” You pulled away, breathless and trying to avoid making any embarrassing noises while in public. You were more turned on than you ever remembered being.
You had never had a threesome before but with the way these two made you feel, you were more than willing to give it a try. Even with their clothes on, you could see they were built like literal gods. Their confidence only added to their attractiveness, they were in control and you just wanted to melt under their touch. One of them alone was enough to make your mind spin, so with them together you were ready to combust before you even sat in the taxi, squished between their bodies.
Their hands were all over you, and it would have been indecent if Anthony didn’t put his jacket over your legs to cover you when you parted them. You couldn’t help but comply whenever their hands on your inner thighs prompted you to open them a little bit further, giving them perfect access to you. You had to stop yourself from whining as they teased eagerly without ever touching you where you wanted them most.
The plea you whimpered got Mathew biting down on the skin of your shoulder where he was previously leaving kisses. “Be a good girl,” He murmured, giving your thigh a squeeze.
You choked on a moan and tried to pass it off as a cough.
Both him and Anthony grinned from your reaction. Mathew had thrown the words out there to see if you’d like it, and they were both more than pleased with your response. If the night kept on going like this they were about to have a lot of fun with you.
You were brought back to your senses by the cold air of the night when you stepped out of the car a few minutes later, accepting Anthony’s help when he held his hand out for you. Your dress didn’t do much to keep you warm, but you didn’t step closer to him. Your thoughts caught up to you as you realised what you were doing and wondered if it really was a good idea.
You had zoned out for most of the walk through the entrance, lost in your own head, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
“Hey,” Anthony prompted you to look up at him once in the elevator. “If you change your mind or anything gets too much that’s okay,” He reassured you. “Just tell us and we’ll stop,”
“I’m okay,” You nodded, feeling better after hearing those words.
“Come on,” Mathew stepped out first to lead the way to their apartment, unlocking the door and letting you step in first. “This way,”
He guided you to a bedroom with a hand on the small of your back, warming you up with a simple touch. There wasn’t much in the room apart from a desk and a bed. Some clothes were scattered over the floor but it still looked relatively clean.
You didn’t get much more time to dwell on that because a second later Anthony’s hands were running up your sides from behind while Mathew cupped the side of your neck and leaned in to kiss you.
Every little bit of nervousness that was rising from your overthinking disappeared simply because you were unable to form a coherent thought in that moment.
You were drowned in their warmth and lost in their touch, blood rushing through your body while you focused on kissing Mat back and let them run their hands all over your skin. For a fleeting moment your thoughts wandered to Anthony’s lips and how he had felt kissing you at the bar. You could only imagine how soft they’d be against the skin of your neck where you could feel his breath.
You didn’t have to wait much longer for your imagination to stop running, his lips finding the skin of your shoulder where he took his time leaving kisses that made you whimper into Mathew’s mouth. You were turning into an absolute mess, letting him nibble onto your lower lip while Anthony trailed his up your neck.
You tried to lean forward when he pulled away, chasing his lips, but Anthony grabbed your hips and pulled your ass back against him. Your moan wasn’t muffled in any way this time, and both men felt their blood rush south just from the sound of it.
Your eyelids fluttered when you felt Anthony harden against you, grinding into you slowly while you met his motions with your ass. Mat fell to his knees in front of you, leaving the upper part of your body for Anthony’s hands to wander on while he mouthed at your thighs.
He lifted your dress up to your waist and licked his lips, the hunger in his eyes growing when he saw the lace of your panties. The breathy moans falling from your lips were music to his ears, and he needed them to turn louder.
“Can I take this off?” Mathew hooked his fingers in the waistband of your panties, kissing your inner thigh and looking up at you.
“Fuck yes,” You allowed him to drag them down your legs without hesitation, stepping out of them while Anthony nipped at a sensitive spot on your neck. You whined quietly, thankful that Mat was thoughtful enough to help you get out of your heels before you forgot how to stand.
“So wet already,” He mumbled as he hooked one of your legs over his shoulder, getting better access to your inner thighs so that he could leave kisses and pretty red marks all over them. His stubble grazed your skin, only adding to the sensation, and your hips rolled involuntarily the second he began pressing kisses over your folds. Your gripped Anthony’s arm to steady yourself when he gave you a few licks before diving in.
With his free hand, Anthony dragged the straps of your dress down your shoulders and let the material bunch around your waist where Mat was still holding it.
“You look so good like this,” He pressed his chest to your back, wrapping both of his arms around you to steady you while you moaned both from the praise and the way Mathew sucked on your clit. You completely gave up on controlling what was happening or your reactions, leaving it up to them instead.
Anthony’s hands found your chest easily while he rolled his hips slowly to rub himself against your bare ass. His fingers pinched and rolled your nipples softly, teasing the sensitive buds while Mat gripped your thigh on his shoulder and devoured your pussy.
If it weren’t for Anthony’s size and strength you would be on the floor right now. You were leaning most of your weight back on him and couldn’t keep your balance with only one foot on the floor. You didn’t think things could feel any better until Mathew slid two long fingers inside of you and your head fell back on Anthony’s shoulder with a moan.
He pinched your nipples a little harder in response, sending your hips bucking against Mat’s face, who only took it as an encouragement to go harder. His fingers curled inside of you as he dragged them out in slow motions until he found the sweet spot that made your pussy clench.
You felt him grin against your pussy while your whine filled the room. His fingers teased the spot over and over again while he lapped up your wetness, humming in satisfaction over your clit because he could feel the way you tensed whenever he did so. You had your fair share of experience before, but never in your life had you felt so good and overwhelmed by a guy eating you out. No one had ever gotten your eyes to roll back in your head so easily, and no one had ever gotten you to the point where you couldn’t even stand anymore.
“Are you gonna come on his face, baby?” Anthony whispered in your ear, biting down on the spot just below it and tightening his grip on you when you shuddered. He let out a low groan against your skin when you shifted your hips to grind back on him.
“Yes,” You whimpered your response, the noise spurring both of them on.
Mathew moaned eagerly, sucking on your clit harder as he rubbed his fingers against the perfect spot inside of you until your legs were trembling. Anthony was almost carrying you to keep you up when your orgasm hit you, sending your hips bucking against Mat’s face while he tried to keep his grip tight on you to hold you still.
They worked you through it together, Mathew with gentle licks and his fingers still inside of you, and Anthony with soft caresses of your chest and waist.
“Can you stand?” He chuckled quietly and left a few kisses on your neck.
“Uh?” You blinked a few times, your chest was rising and falling quickly as you tried to process his words. “Fuck, that was good,” You breathed out.
“Mmh,” Mathew hummed his agreement when he got back up, fingers in his mouth to suck them clean.
“C’mere,” Anthony helped you to the bed and let you adjust on your back. “Lift,” He prompted you quietly so that he could tug your dress off your body and finally leave you completely naked.
You watched as he stripped too slowly for your liking, undoing the buttons of his shirt before letting it drop to the floor to expose his toned chest. You had known he was muscular the second he caught your eye at the bar, he was a professional athlete after all, but you didn’t expect him or Mat to look so god-like once their clothes were off. Just the sight of him took your breath away.
“We’re far from done,” He climbed on top of you once he was fully naked, a cocky smirk on his face when you reached out to run your hands over his chest, a look of awe in your eyes. “Like what you see, baby?” Anthony asked and you nodded while his arms caged you in, making you feel small, but you were thankful for the warmth and being less exposed.
“How are you two real?” You stole a glance at Mathew too, your heart skipping a beat when you saw him naked at the foot of the bed.
You never got an answer from either of them because the way Anthony rolled his hips a second later got you both to moan quietly.
“Do you need me to go easy on you?” He pulled back to reach for a condom in a drawer of the bedside table. You shook your head as you watched him sit back on his heels between your legs and swiftly roll it down his cock. Your pussy clenched just at the sight of him, and Anthony licked his lips hungrily, satisfied with your answer. Neither of you wanted to have to hold back. “Good.” He gripped your hips and flipped you over on your stomach.
You squealed as you bounced on the mattress, immediately gathering your knees underneath you and holding yourself up on your arms. Your back arched eagerly as you moved back to try and feel him, but he grabbed your ass before you could be against him. A frustrated huff left your lips at that, if he was half as good at fucking you as Mathew had been eating you out, you were about to feel incredible, and you didn’t want to have to wait any longer for it.
“Someone’s excited,” Mat teased as he climbed on the bed too, crawling up until he was sitting in front of you with his thick thighs spread on either side of your body.
Anthony chuckled when your pussy clenched the second he pressed his tip at your entrance, but he didn’t give you the satisfaction of filling you yet. Instead, he took his time slowly rubbing the head of his cock up and down your pussy, alternating between teasing your clit and your entrance.
You fell to your forearms with a whimper, hands on Mathew’s inner thighs while his cock stood proudly just an inch away from your face.
“Good girl,” He purred when your tongue came out to lick his tip, saliva dripping down on him to wet him.
He had given you a taste of heaven just a minute ago and you were ready to return the favor.
Anthony bit his lip as he watched your head bob up and down the second Mathew’s cock was in your mouth, and he slowly pushed his hips forward to fill your pussy with his. A moaned curse fell from your lips while he stretched you out and sent a wave of pleasure through your body.
Your mouth sank down on Mat a second later, taking him until he hit the back of your throat and you gagged lightly, trying to adjust to them both at the same time. You all stayed still for a moment, you because you were overwhelmed, and them because nothing felt better than that first push inside of you.
The whole scene was filthier than anything either of you could have dreamed of, and the wet noises your bodies made when Anthony began to gently rock his hips only added to it. The angle he fucked you at was the definition of perfect, it made it hard for you to focus on Mat.
He was panting slightly in front of you, his thighs clenching under your hands while you suckled on the head of his cock and swirled your tongue around it. You looked unreal like that, your ass arched up for Anthony to fuck you deep while you did your best to pleasure him.
The first loud moan you pulled out of Mathew filled you with pride, and you doubled your efforts to take him deeper and deeper into your mouth while you bobbed your head.
“You feel so fucking good,” Anthony let out a groan, grabbing your ass and watching himself disappear into your pussy. It was taking everything in him to not start pounding into you, but he knew he’d be too much if he did that while you were still sucking Mat.
Mathew’s hand was more gentle as he reached for your hair and ran his fingers through it until it was gathered to the back of your head. He could see his cock sliding between your lips with each movement you made and guided your head at a slow pace with a soft groan. His teeth sank into his bottom lip when you looked up at him for approval, pulling away to work your tongue over his tip and suck.
“You’re doing so good, baby,” Mathew praised you, unable to stop yourself from bucking his hips to fuck into your mouth.
You choked a little and pulled away to catch your breath, working your hand around him instead.
Anthony saw that as his opportunity to give you a more forceful thrust. The sound of his skin slapping against yours echoed through the room and you jolted forward with a choked whimper.
Both men chuckled at your reaction and the atmosphere shifted in the room. Anthony gripped your hips harder to keep you in place to settle into a fast rhythm, pounding into you from behind. You were sure your skin would be bruised later, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
Mat’s hand ran through your hair soothingly as he watched you, his gentleness a contrast with the way his friend was treating you. You tried your best to focus on him again and licked at his tip before wrapping your lips around him again. It was sloppier than when you started, you couldn’t concentrate on a thing with Anthony’s cock hitting your g-spot every time he thrust back into you.
A familiar warmth was building in the pit of your stomach, you wouldn’t last much longer, and going down on Mat was quickly becoming too much.
‘S’okay,” He chuckled at the fucked out look on your face, cupping your cheek to get you to lift your head and look up at him. Your makeup was ruined because of the way your eyes watered whenever you had gagged around his cock, spit was running down your chin, but Mat couldn’t have found you prettier. “You like getting spanked, baby?” He traced his thumb over your swollen lips, grinning when you tried to take it into your mouth. He and Tito shared a quick glance as they waited for your answer.
“Yes,” You whimpered, feeling a palm collide with your ass a second later.
Your body moved forward from the pain, but Anthony was quick to pull you back into him with one hand. His free one fell onto your ass again, the sharp slap reaching your ears before the sting settled in. His thrusts were relentless, hard and fast, getting moans out of you that were progressively getting louder.
The next spank didn’t take long to come, followed by a moaned curse from Anthony as he watched the way the skin of your ass bounced and reddened with each slap.
“Come on,” Mathew kept your eyes locked on his so that he could watch you fall apart. “Show me how pretty you look when you’re coming,”
It only took one more spank for your pussy to clench hard around Anthony’s cock, making him groan loudly while you fell apart for both of them. Quiet praises fell from Mat’s lips as you lost touch with the rest of the world, your muscles shaking and struggling to hold you up.
Anthony didn’t stop, but louder moans and groans escaped him while his thrusts turned sloppy. He gripped your ass to part your cheeks and looked down where your bodies were joined with dark eyes.
“Such a good girl,” Anthony muttered before he reached his high too and spilled into the condom with a groan, watching himself twitch and throb inside of you.
Mathew watched in awe until you dropped your head and let out a small whine, seconds away from collapsing.
“C’mere,” He slid down on the bed and caught your body as you fell forward, adjusting you until you were lying on his chest with your legs spread around him.
You gladly took a moment to rest and enjoy the afterglow of your orgasm. It was only the second one of the night, which you knew was far from your limit, but if these two kept on going like that you were going to pass out before you could get many more.
Mathew was patient, running his fingers up and down your spine while you curled your toes and slowly pulled yourself out of your dizzy state. You could feel him hard against your lower stomach, but he didn’t seem to be in a rush.
“Did so good baby,” The whisper got you rolling your hips involuntarily, and Mat took it as an encouragement to run his fingers through your hair and guide your head up.
Your eyes met his while you weakly pushed yourself up on your arms to straddle him more comfortably. Anthony stayed on the bed on his side without getting involved for a few moments, letting his hungry eyes run over every inch of your exposed skin.
Mathew bit his lip and looked down where your bodies were joined, humming in appreciation when you repeated the motion and caused drops of precum to leak over his stomach. His hands ran from your knees, up your thighs and to your hips so that he could lift you gently.
You gave him just enough space for him to reach over the side of the bed to grab a condom, and you sat back on his thighs for a few seconds to let him roll it down his length.
“Are you going to give me another one, baby?” Mat guided you to position yourself on top of him again and held the base of his cock, letting you sink down on him slowly.
You gave him a jerky nod and whined while he bit back a moan when your ass met his thighs. You rolled your hips slowly but steadily, recovering from your previous orgasm, and Mathew let you be in charge of the pace for a while. He was satisfied enough by the sight of you on top of him like that.
His hands found your hips, accompanying you every time you rolled them before slowly caressing up your side and down your stomach. You shivered and moaned quietly in response. The touches were a stark contrast with the sting you could still feel in your ass from the way Anthony spanked you, but they felt just as intense.
Mathew relaxed back into the mattress and enjoyed what you were giving him for a while, but his patience didn’t last long. As soon as your breathing settled he gripped your hips a little bit tighter to pull you down and thrust up to meet your movements.
Your lips parted in surprise and a moan fell from them. Mat chuckled in response, proud of himself as he planted his feet on the mattress for leverage so that he could keep on going. Your body stilled on top of him and you braced your hands on his chest, he was picking a much faster pace than the one you had set and it was making your thighs tremble.
You were so caught up in the way he was fucking you that you barely noticed Anthony getting on his knees by your side until he spoke into your ear.
“Such a good girl,” He whispered before tugging at your earlobe with his teeth, a hand on your back and the other one over your stomach.
You moaned and broke eye contact with Mathew to look at him instead, melting right into his arms when he lifted you to make you turn around. You followed his lead until you were sitting back on Mat’s cock, your eyelids fluttering while your back met his chest.
“There we go,” Anthony hummed his approval quietly, lowering his head to your collarbones to kiss and nip at your skin.
Mathew groaned into your ear from behind you, thrusting up into you at an angle that had you seeing stars. It was good enough to make your eyes gloss over with tears, but you could still see the way Anthony’s eyes darkened when he pulled back to take in how beautiful you looked in that position. His pupils were so dilated you could barely see the blue in his eyes, and you couldn’t look away.
The tip of his fingers traced up your sides slowly, making you shudder before he reached your chest and pinched both of your nipples between his fingers.
“Fuck,” Mathew cursed through a loud moan when you arched your back against him. His arm tightened around your stomach and he grunted, thrusting up harder.
A cry fell from your lips while a tear rolled down your cheek. Anthony mumbled a praise before dropping one of his hands off your body and using it to stabilise himself on the bed while his lips latched onto the neglected nipple.
“Need you to cum baby,” Mat groaned, knowing he wouldn’t be able to keep up with this pace for much longer.
“Come on,” Anthony encouraged you too, immediately reattaching his lips to your chest and biting down on the hardened bud.
Your head fell back on Mathew’s shoulder, your lips parted and letting out quick gasps. You were right on the edge, and you fell over the second his hand reached down to rub tight circles on your clit. You could barely stay still then, making it hard for Anthony to keep going while Mat throbbed inside of you, snapping his hips up a few more times before he was coming right after you with shallow thrusts.
You shuddered and whimpered when Anthony slowly lifted you off Mat to let you lay down on the mattress. He somehow managed to make your cheek land on a pillow, and you kept your eyes closed, only focusing on slowing down your breathing.
You could vaguely feel Mathew on your other side, just as spent as you. His chest was moving up and down slowly while you both recovered, so Anthony was the only one still touching you. He didn’t do much except play with your hair gently, giving you some space until you were ready to move again.
“You okay?” He brushed a strand off your forehead when you blinked your eyes open to look at him, and you gave him a tired nod. “Come here,” He helped you up and gathered your clothes for you, guiding you to the bathroom and leaving everything on the counter.
You wobbled a little after he left you alone, looking at yourself in the mirror and taking in your appearance. You were a mess, but you could still feel the bliss of those orgasms in your body. Taking a few big gulps of cold water running from the tap helped you regain your senses slowly, and you let out a slow breath.
Your dress was wrinkled when you slipped it back on, but it still looked decent enough. The same couldn’t be said of your face, so you did your best to clean the smears of mascara from under your eyes. It wasn’t perfect, but it would have to be good enough until you got home.
The one thing that bothered you the most were your panties. The flimsy lace was still wet, and it felt a bit gross to put them back on like that. Discarding them in the small bathroom bin the boys had seemed to be your best option.
It only took another minute for you to find an uber available nearby, and you had never been more thankful for how many there always were in New York no matter the time.
When you left the bathroom, you found Anthony in the kitchen with nothing but grey sweatpants hanging low on his hips. It was enough to make a shiver run through you again, but your body was ready to call it a night. He was leaning against the counter, a glass of water in his hand, and he quickly offered you one too.
“Thanks,” You smiled gratefully. “But I should probably get home before it gets too late,” You smoothed the material of your dress down, trying to get some wrinkles out of the silky material.
“Do you have an uber on the way?” He guessed when you checked your phone, and you nodded.
“Yeah, it’s a quick drive,” You answered, shifting your weight to adjust your foot in your shoe, but there was no way the heels would stop hurting. “Where’s Mat?”
“I’m pretty sure he’s already half asleep,” Anthony cringed. “Don’t take it personally, he just has no manners,”
“It’s alright,” You chuckled at his reaction. “I don’t mind,”
“Before you go,” He walked with you to the front door. “My number is on this, text me if you ever feel like doing something like this again,” He slipped you a piece of paper, and you stared at it for a second.
“Oh,” Was all you could say as he opened the door for you and stepped aside.
“It doesn’t need to involve Mat,” He added. “Just… text if you’re interested, okay?”
“Yeah, will do,” You slipped the note into your phone case so that you wouldn’t lose it. “Thanks for tonight,”
“I think it’s me who should be thanking you,” Anthony shook his head with a small smile as you stepped out. “Get home safe.” He said to which you nodded, and you heard the door close as soon as you were out of his sight down the corridor.
His phone number was saved in your phone the minute you sat in your uber.

You Fell From the Sky - Part 2
Leonardo x Reader
Author: Admin Mo
Summary: After falling from the sky and landing literally in the arms of your favorite turtle, it takes some adjustment to live in another reality, but with the help of the leader in blue, you’re getting used to it.
Note: Let it be known that I wrote the first part of this before I knew reality shifting was a thing, but now that I know it is……let me tell you, I am tempted…

It had been three weeks. Three whole weeks living in the lair. You were over the moon. Honestly, it was spectacular. However, after three weeks without a phone charger (you’d been using it very, very sparingly and had it turned off most of the time) your phone was now at one percent. So, you popped into the lab, where Donnie was at the moment.
“Hey Donnie?” You asked tentatively, standing in the doorway.
“Oh, hey (Y/N)! Can I help you with something?” He asked, his voice friendly. He looked up at you, giving you his full attention from whatever he was working on.
“Um, do you have a phone charger I can use?”
“Of course!” He pulled open a drawer on his desk that was absolutely filled with charging chords of every time, meticulously organized with twist ties. “What kind do you need?”
“iPhone.” You said.
He reached into the drawer and handed you a ten-foot chord. “Here you go.”
“Thank you!” You smiled. “What are you working on, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“I don’t mind!” He scooted over to let you see his screen. “I’m working on figuring out how to open an interdimensional portal right now. Sorry it’s taking me so long.”
“Don’t be sorry. This is literally groundbreaking work. You’re a genius, but I definitely didn’t expect you to do it overnight.”
“Well that’s reassuring.” He chuckled. “I’ll keep you posted. Don’t want to keep you here any longer than we have to.”
You knew he was kidding about the last bit, but your heart sank a little when he said it. You liked being at the lair. You liked spending time with the guys. Sure, you wanted to go home at some point, but you wished it didn’t have to come so soon.
“Thank you, Donnie.”
You left the lab to find Leo lingering just outside. He looked concerned, his arms crossed, head tilted, blue, blue eyes focused on you. “You okay?” he asked softly.
You nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine. Why?”
“No reason. You just seemed a little down.” He answered. He stared at you for a moment before remembering, “Oh, April is here. She brought you some more clothes.”
“Awesome. Thank you so much.”
“Don’t mention it.” He shrugged, leading you back out to the living room, where Mikey was ranting about something to April and Casey while Raph listened and shook his head.
You stared at each of them for a long moment, absorbing. Megan Fox and Stephen Amell were standing like twenty feet away from you. It was overwhelming to say the very least. “Holy shit…”
“Hi! You must be (Y/N). I’m April. This is Casey.”
“Hockey puck has got a bit of a chip on his shoulder, but he means well.” Raph elaborated.
“This is so insane.” You laughed, smiling at them. “It’s incredible to meet you. The boys…told you where I’m from, right?”
“Yeah, they did.” April nodded. “That must have been quite the jump.”
“It was. I’m still…getting used to it, I guess.”
“Well, take your time.” She nudged Raph playfully. “They take some getting used to.”
“Hey!” Raph scoffed, nudging her back. “Ya took some getting used to yourself, O’Neil.”
“I wouldn’t worry too much.” Leo said, his eyes sparkling. “I think you’re fitting in just fine.”
You ignored the way your heart raced when he said it, replying with a smirk, “I agree.”
***
It was later that night. You were in the kitchen, baking with Splinter’s permission. He was in his room drinking tea and the boys were out on patrol. That was the other thing. Every time they left, you felt empty. You knew they’d be fine, but there was always a little bit of worry nagging in the back of your brain. What if they…weren’t?
So: stress-baking. The recipe of the evening? Chocolate chip cookies. They were a classic you were sure the boys would like. Your hair was up in a messy bun and you had some tunes playing from your phone. You scooped out the balls of cookie dough, setting them in careful rows on the pan before sticking them into the hot oven.
You baked for a few hours, rotating trays until you had a batch big enough to feed four hungry mutant turtles, their father, and yourself.
You switched off the oven, and right as you did, you heard their voices echoing through the tunnels until finally, they entered the lair.
“Good night?” You asked hopefully.
“Better now, angelcakes.” Mikey winked and then stopped in his tracks when he saw the steaming pile of fresh-baked cookies. His eyes widened and he gasped excitedly. “Are these for us?”
“Yep.”
“Wow, she bakes, too, Leo.” Raph teased, reaching for a cookie in time with Donnie.
“Thanks, (Y/N),” said the turtle in the purple bandana.
“Of course.”
Leo went in for one last, still reeling a bit from Raph’s comment, his cheeks rosier than usual. He said softly, “Thank you for doing this.”
“Thank you for letting me crash here. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you guys finding me when you did.”
“It’s the least we could do.” Leo insisted.
“Alright, quit yer flirting. Let’s all go watch a movie or something.” Raph insisted, walking out towards the TV. The rest of you followed, and of course when you and Leo went to find seats, the only two that were left were right next to each other.
You settled in, blushing a bit. Raph had a smug smirk on his face.
“What?” You challenged, causing him to chuckle.
“Nothin’.”
As it got later, it also got colder, and you soon found yourself shivering the slightest bit, wishing you’d thought to grab a blanket before the movie started like the rest of the guys had.
“Are you cold?” Leo asked.
Instead of telling him you weren’t like you wanted to, you nodded. Without hesitation, he pulled half of his large blue blanket onto your lap, letting you share his warmth. As if you weren’t blushing enough before, he just had to be a gentleman and fluster you even further.
“T-thanks.” You could have punched yourself for stuttering, but Leo didn’t seem to mind. He still kept a polite distance from you, his leg a good few inches from yours despite the blanket that was draped across you both.
You were quiet for the rest of the movie, and when it was over, Raph went to work out, Donnie retreated into his lab, and Mikey went to his room to scroll through TikToks on his phone. That left you and Leo sitting awkwardly under the large blue knitted blanket you were sure Raph had made. Maybe it had been a Christmas present or something. You weren’t sure.
“Not to give you déjà vu, but I’m sorry about Raph.” Leo chuckled. “I asked him to stop, so of course it only got worse.”
“I really don’t mind.” You told him, meeting his clear blue gaze. “That’s what brothers do, isn’t it?”
He laughed. “Yeah, I guess it is. Do you have any siblings?”
“No, unfortunately. I’m an only child. Grew up with my aunt because my parents couldn’t be bothered to actually parent.”
“Mmm.” Leo hummed, nodding.
“I guess that’s probably why I latched onto the idea of you guys so much as a kid. I liked the idea of a sibling bond like that. Working together as a team. Having a built-in group of friends to hang out with.”
“It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but we do work well together.” Leo agreed. “When we’re not bickering, that is.”
You were quiet for a moment, mustering up courage before you said, “He’s right, though. Raph, I mean.”
Leo stared at you, his eyes widening in half-realization. “What…how…what do you mean?” His voice cracked when he asked it, his heart pounding.
“Well…Leo, I’ve had a crush on you since I was fifteen years old; I doubt it’s going away anytime soon.”
He looked at you in shock, pretty sure he’d hallucinated what you just said. All he could reply with was a shaky, “On me?”
You laughed. “Yes, Leo. On you. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same. I’m not even supposed to exist here.”
“I do. Feel the same.” He blurted. His statement was quick, but it was firm. Carefully, he took your hand in his large, green, three-fingered one and he was reminded just how different the two of you actually were. He was about to let go, but you squeezed his hand reassuringly. He laughed at himself, slightly embarrassed to be floundering in front of you, but it was out of his control. “I’m sorry, I’m new to this.”
“That’s okay.” You smiled, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
“I promise I’ll do my best to make you happy. Just let me know if I’m doing something wrong. I’m learning, after all.” His thumb rubbed the back of your hand. “And I know that…at some point you’re going to have to go back. But…I’m willing to make the most of whatever time we have.”
“Me too.” You nodded. A yawn slipped from your lips. It was getting late. You wouldn’t be surprised if the sun was already up. “I think it’s about time I got to bed.” You told him, standing up and setting the blanket on the couch.
Since you’d been there, the boys had created you a makeshift room of your own in one of the giant pipes in the wall, a little one with your own mattress and some bedding Raph had whipped up for you.
Leo stood up too, towering over you as soon as he did. You stood on your toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” Leo replied, smiling at you like you’d put the moon and stars in the sky with your bare hands. “See you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow.” You echoed, walking off towards your pipe, a new kind of warmth swirling around in your chest.

I haven’t been to too many weddings in my life. I attended one for my uncle when I was around 10 years old but I don’t remember much from it. My mother also got remarried around 3 years ago, but up until this year, weddings weren’t a natural occurrence in my life.
This past year though.. I’ve attended two weddings, got an invitation in the mail today for another one, a close friend of mine just recently got engaged (so that invitation will be coming sometime in the near future), and one of my best friends’ wedding is tomorrow. Now I feel like everywhere I look, I am surrounded by love.
Now I’m not saying that is a bad thing, but when every one of your friends are either having kids, getting married, or in serious relationships, it starts to feel a little discouraging. Is there something wrong with me? Am I the reason why I’m still single?-- No, I refuse to think like that! I could get a boyfriend if I wanted to. Maybe my friends are right though… Maybe I’m not putting myself out there enough.
Anyway, one of my best friends, Karly, is getting married to her long-time boyfriend Travis tomorrow. I’ve met Travis, or as everyone seems to call him ‘TK’, a handful of times and I know he plays for the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team-- which is cool I guess, but other than that I don’t know much about his personal life or who he hangs out with.
Karly and I met running into each other at a cafe once. Yeah, yeah I know it sounds like one of those cliche romantic meetings, where two people bump into each other and immediately fall in love. I mean we did hit it off almost immediately and from there we became like two peas in a pod-- just not in the way you think. I’ve always wondered though, if maybe I ran into a handsome man at a coffee shop or walking down the street, would I be having my happily ever after right now?
I snap out of my thoughts when an incoming call from- speak of the devil, the bribe to be. Before I can even say my greetings, Karly jumps right into business;
“Ok! So since you weren’t able to come to the dress rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. I’ll give you the rundown on what you need to do.”
Oh yeah, did I mention that I am one of the bridesmaids? Sadly, I was not able to attend the functions before the wedding due to not being able to get time off from work. But, Karly was super cool with it, which brings us to the reason for this call.
“Ok so basically, your dress and everything is already in the bridal suite, so everything will be ready for you when you get here tomorrow. You’ll be walking down the aisle third with one of Travis’ buddies Joel-- he plays on the team with Trav and he’s such a sweet guy he’ll definitely help you out if you need anything.. You know now that I think about it you guys would be such a cute couple-”
“Uh Karly? I don’t think now's the time to play matchmaker, when we should be preparing for your big day tomorrow.” I cut her off.
“Alright, alright. But I will be coming back to that thought. Ok so anyway--”
After that I kind of zone out from trying to keep up with whatever Karly is spitting at me right now. While still on the phone, I pull out my laptop and search for the name ‘Joel’ with ‘Philadelphia Flyers’ next to it in search of this man who is said to be walking me down the aisle. Right away the name ‘Joel Farabee’ pops up with a wikipedia and multiple photos. Hm this guy is kinda cute. Just as I go to click view more images, Karly’s words register back in my brain;
“Ok y/n, did you get that?”
“Hm.. oh yeah! Got it. What time should I be there tomorrow?” I ask, praying that she didn’t already mention that and realize I wasn’t paying attention.
“8 AM sharp,” she responds all giddy.
I suddenly remember that my best friend is actually getting married tomorrow. Feeling giddy as well I reply, “Sounds good. I am so happy for you Karly and I can’t wait to see how beautiful you look tomorrow!”
Karly does a little shriek in response and reiterates her excitement as well. We then say our goodbyes and I wish her a great last night as an unmarried woman before hanging up. I got back to what I was working on before the call and all my jumbled thoughts entered my brain, totally forgetting about a certain someone named ‘Joel’ as I exited the browser.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The next morning I arrive at 8:17 AM at the wedding venue and as soon as I exit the Uber, I start booking it to the bridal suite. When Karly says to be somewhere at 8 AM sharp, you be there at 8 AM sharp, and I’m not particularly fond of facing her wrath today, especially on her wedding day when stress levels are through the roof.
There’s just one problem though… Since I wasn’t able to attend the rehearsal, I have no idea where I am going.
Trying to recall the directions Karly told me on the phone last night (when I wasn’t paying attention), I take a sharp turn around a corner looking the opposite direction and suddenly collide with a dead end. Wait- no that’s not a dead end, it’s a person.
Immediately going to spit out an apology, I stop dead in my tracks when I make eye contact with the handsome man I bumped into.
“Oh shit! I am so sorry. Are you alright?” I see his lips moving, which are very nice to look at by the way, but my mind doesn’t register his words as I stare dumbfoundedly at this handsome stranger. Who, now that I think about it, looks a little familiar.
When I still don’t answer, the familiar stranger clears his throat before giving me a once over of my whole body, which does little to bring me out of my trance. If anything I now start to feel my whole face flush from noticing him obviously checking me out.
His face then seems to light up in recognition before asking, “Wait, are you y/n?”
When he notices my look of confusion on how he knows my name he continues, “I’m Joel, Joel Farabee.” Scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, I notice a slight blush coating his cheeks before he adds, “We’re paired to walk down the aisle together… Um, also I think Karly is looking for you. She was kind of freaking out a little.”
With that last sentence my whole body comes back to life realizing that I am late and Karly is going to kill me. Hurriedly I exclaim “Oh my gosh! I am so late and I have no idea where the hell I’m going.” I frantically search around for any directions to point me to the bridal suite.
Joel kindly puts his hand on my shoulder, which immediately ignites a fire on the skin he is touching, before he reassures “Hey, you’re good. Just take your first right down this hall and then it will be at the end of the corridor, you can’t miss it. Seriously. She hung up streamers and balloons everywhere with a poster on the door that says ‘Bridal Suite. NO BOYS ALLOWED’.”
Letting out a soft snort I gently thank Joel before rushing in the direction he pointed me to. Before turning right, I sneak a quick glance over my shoulder to find Joel already glancing my way. My heart does a little flutter when we make eye contact and he gives me a little lopsided grin before going on his way.
What just happened…

As soon as I walk through the doors of the suite, I am immediately ambushed by the bride to be on why I was late, until she notices the deep blush covering my cheeks, which then prompts another ambush on what made me blush.
I change the topic as quickly as I can and direct our attention on getting ready for the ceremony. Karly looks absolutely beautiful in her white gown and her hair all dolled up. She doesn’t even seem remotely nervous for today as well. Most weddings I have been to, the bride is always going batshit crazy making sure everything is perfect or worrying that her soon to be husband might back out. That just shows how happy and comfortable Karly and Travis are in their relationship. God, I wonder what it must feel like to have that kind of love that is so solid and healthy. Suddenly my mind starts drifting to what it would be like to have that type of relationship with Joel.
Oh who am I kidding? I just met the guy. Sure, when his hand touched my shoulder my whole body felt like it was on fire. And yeah, maybe when he gave me that little lopsided grin it gave my entire stomach butterflies. Oh jeez. Today is gonna be a long day…

Ok now I feel like my whole body is going to explode. He is looking at me like I’m now the bride and he is the groom. And suddenly, I’m wishing that were the case. We are getting closer and closer to walking down the aisle together, and every step we take towards one another my stomach does a little flip.
When we finally reach each other, he offers his arm for me to take as he speaks, “Wow… Uh yeah wow, you look gorgeous.”
Blushing, I respond with a quiet “Thank you.”
“Guess I was the lucky one eh? In case I end up tripping and making a fool of myself, no one will even be paying attention because all eyes will be on you.” There’s that little lopsided grin of his again.
“Well aren’t you a sweet talker.” I responded.
He just gives me a subtle wink before we ascend through the doors and down the aisle where Travis is waiting for the big moment. He gives us both a little smirk before we part ways like he knows something we both don’t.
Eventually Karly walks down the aisle looking like an absolute princess. The officiator says his whole ordeal, Karly and TK both say their vows to one another, there are lots of tears, and Joel and I can’t seem to keep our eyes off of each other.
After the ceremony, we all head in the direction of the reception hall where the real fun begins. Don’t get me wrong, the wedding was spectacular, the way everyone expected it to be. Now as music filled the air with a giddy sort of elation, the newlyweds looking beautiful and so happy while dancing, friends and relatives chatting between one another about this and that; I can’t help but feel a little bittersweet about it. I want this. I want that giddy elation to be surrounded around me, I want to wear that beautiful white gown, I want the guy to be looking at me like I just hung the moon while we had our first dance. Where’s my happily ever after--
“You know you never properly introduced yourself?”
Startled, I spun around to find the source. Joel.
I give him a sweet smile before returning my gaze back to the happy couple and responding, “Y/n y/l/n.”
He follows my gaze and lets out a little sigh before expressing “They’re perfect for each other, aren’t they?”
“Yeah, they really are.” Before I can get another word in Joel blurts;
“Do you wanna dance? Like,” He stumbles a little with his words, “like with me?”
Letting out a soft giggle, I happily reply, “I would love to.”
Seemingly relieved, Joel takes my hand and leads me out onto the dance floor as soon as a slow song comes on. He puts his hands respectively on my waist while I put mine around his neck inching him closer to my body. We dance with each other for a while, even after the song is over and a fast high tempo song blasts through the speakers. It’s like we are lost in each other, just savoring this ‘moment’ together.
Eventually after the fourth song comes on and we are still dancing, Joel pulls away just a little to look me in the eye before softly whispering “Do you believe in happily ever afters?”
Seeing that look in his eyes again, the one where it seems like he is looking at me like I just hung the moon? I answer in that same soft whisper, “Yeah… yeah I think I do.”

Okay I am obsessed with your thirst tweets you did, would you ever write one where James reads them? I feel like that would be gold
Thirst Tweets 7
Characters and their world by @lumosinlove
James grinned and slapped his thighs as the camera started rolling.
“Is it weird that i’m nervous for this? Should I be nervous?”
The camera man laughed and nodded and James grinned again. “Okay hello everyone, I’m James Potter and you’re watching Thirst Tweets.”
“Okay.” He said, drawing out the end of the word as he grabbed his cards. “Here we go.”
“I’m sorry but has anyone seen those pictures of James wearing his glasses? Cause wow he goes from adorable dork to bend me over a table right now.”
James looked up and started into the camera. “Well that escalated quickly.” He made an exaggerated motion of pushing up his glasses before winking at the camera.
“Right the next one!” He cleared his throat as he read the first couple of lines, blushing a little. “I want James Potter’s stick inside me and I am NOT talking about that thing he uses to play hockey.”
James put on a serious tone. “Good thing to learn kids, didn’t put actual hockey sticks inside any part of your body.”
The camera man sniggered and James laughed a little before pulling up his last card.
“James Potter needs to stop posting pictures of his kid cause it just reminds me that he’s a dad and fuck daddy may I. #theonlyDILFineed”
James looked at the camera in mild horror. “I can’t stop posting pictures of Harry! Have you seen that kid? He’s adorable!”
“James honey.” Lily called from begind the camera. “Thanks to your Instagram, everyone has seen that kid.”
James looked satisfied. “As they should. Alright guys that’s it! Subscribe for more, I’m James Potter and this was Thirst Tweets.”
