Pages from a zine I made about disability. You can view the full zine on my itchio as well as download your own prinatble copy! Payment no longer optional as I’ve had some emergency expenses so the zine is currently £2.50, but this is a temporary thing.
ID: an illustration of the wounded man standing almost naked, impaled with multiple weapons. His body is coloured in red while the ground and weapons are black. His face looks tired.
The second image is black text with red ornate letters are the start of each paragraph that reads “You have to imagine that the wounded man is happy. That he has friends and family who love him, that his lovers taste his blood when they go down on him and don't flinch from how the swords slide in and out of his body during sex. You have to convince yourself that after he has broken down and sobbed from the pain and fear that he picks himself and his wounds up off the floor and continues onwards. You have to make yourself believe that it is better to bleed than to be dead. You have to believe that this life is worth living too.” ED.

Title: I'll Die If I Can't Save You (구하지 못할 바엔 죽겠다)
Author: Flowing Honey (꿀이흐르는)
Tags: Reincarnation, Transmigration to a Novel, Overpowered Man, Obsessive Man, Wounded Man, Wounded Woman, Sweet Woman, Unrequited Love, Fated Love
Description:
I transmigrated into a side character who died before she turned three years old.
I survived, but what remained was a predetermined ending full of ruin.
In order to prevent the Lefevre estate from being attacked and half destroyed, I hid my identity and went to rescue my favorite character, who originally died early.
“You really came to save me.”
“That's right…I…wanted to... save you.”
I thought that if I just saved him as a child, he would grow up and become the youngest commander-in-chief just like the original story. As someone who would shine as bright as the sun, for the sake of his future, she had no choice but to leave after giving him an immense wound....
* * *
“Why do you act so favorably towards me?”
“Why do I act so favorably towards you?”
Schloetz responded with a nonchalant expression.
“Princess, there is a woman whom I want you to hand over to me.”
Snippet from one of my bookmarks:
어 적 슐로이츠와 함께 보냈던 시간은 꼭 백일몽 같기도 했다. 봄날의 꿈결 같기도 했고. 내가 혼자 겪은 환상 같기도 했고. 아무도 이야기하지 않아서 그저 내 마음속에만 깊이 새겨진 시간.
The time I spent with Schloetz as a child was like a daydream. Like a spring dream. A fantasy that I experienced alone. Moments I kept to myself, hence it was deeply engraved in my heart.
Review:
My favorite author officially published a new novel series and I am back. Honey Flowing, who is also the author of Valia, Tribute to Shuden and The Tragedy of the Villainess (2 of my favorite k-novels), is back.
I've mentioned this before but this writer just excels at writing slow burn romance and fated love trope. The first three volumes was deliciously filled with angst, regret, unrequited love, obsession - all keywords that I love to see in a novel. Honestly, ML treated FL harshly so many times but like the FL I forgive him and his obsessive a*s. The rest of the series is filled with steamy and even more obsessive ML moments.
It was great to see the FL's character progression from someone who would rather just seclude herself from the world to a true commander worthy of respect. I'm not into #cider type female leads but I this author provides just enough balance between #kindness and #cider in her FLs that made the characters very endearing for me.
The character other than ML and FL are also well fleshed out. My favorites are probably FL's mother and father. In a world of bad parents, their parenting methods and overall relationship is #goals. The FL's brother, comrades and other side characters are overall likeable and I enjoyed reading about their perspectives throughout the series.
Other than the romance, the author also never disappoints with her writing of fantasy elements. The action scenes are engrossing. I've been almost always reading shounen/seinen manhwas for the past months so this aspect was very welcome for me. There's great worldbuilding and I was fully immersed in the world that the author wrote, though I think I don't want to be transmigrated into this one.
For the past couple of months, this has breathed a new life in my previously waning enthusiasm for romance fantasy novels and manhwas. If you've loved any of the author's previous works, this is definitely a must-read.
Note to self: I need to read the side story when it comes out. I'll have to re-read moments that I've bookmarked to recall my favorite moments.

Prompt 257
Now Danny loves space. He loves everything about it, to the point his core quite literally is space. And he’s also a baby ghost, even if he could argue he’s not in human form. But see, being baby has an honestly great consequence once it’s noticed- despite the Observants’ best attempts at hiding it, the assholes.
Of course he would be far more worried- and even a bit pissed- if his caretaker wasn’t who it was. Look, he’d never met Clockwork’s siblings before, but apparently everyone was really against Clockwork himself adopting.
But Clockwork as his uncle is fine. Besides, his caretaker is Space! Space itself is holding him, cooing gentle words in the sounds of the very cosmos. And they’re huge, like parts of their body going through portals so they can fit outside Long-Now sized big- and apparently Clockwork can get just as big and they can get even bigger-
Okay, he needs to take a breath- even if he doesn’t need to breathe- to stop his squealing because holy Realms this is so cool.
Space is awesome! And he’s getting so much more rest than he did in Amity- and even if Space sort of shrugged at the idea of school at first, they did help him set up online schooling. So there’s that, and it’s just the start!
He gets to learn so much about space and it’s honestly kind of… nice? To be taken care of? And he can do whatever he needs for his Core and Obsession with only a few interruptions to take care of his living needs. Erm, sort of living needs?
But even that gets turned into a bit of play or even a lesson too! He’s honestly having such a good time right now! He’s learning so much about spaaace! And dimensions! And interdimensional portals and- oops! No one saw that.
Ahem- But he’s learning so much about space and getting to explore other dimensions with Cosmos! And sure he no longer looks as human as he once did and all that, but he’s seen so many people who also don’t look human that does it really matter?
Of course it doesn’t, and he matches his sort-of-dad! Even though the streaks of color in their hair are more of a brown-red like they’re literally bleeding out the cosmos around them instead of it fading to void and space like his own. But still! They match and it’s fun!
And they’re going to go on another trip from the in-between to one of the dimension realities! He’s going to start a game of tag this time he thinks! But no cheating with portals or bending space! Tag!
Look, the Justice League? Not paid enough for this. In fact, technically not paid at all due to being volunteers (not that it stopped them from finding money in their accounts) but still.
There is some sort of figure… being… thing… zooming around the asteroid belt, about the size of Earth itself. Let them repeat themselves. A planet-sized creature (are those hands or paws? Tail or simply its body stretching? Hair or the Abyss-) is currently darting around the asteroid belt like a child running through grass.
That is, without noticing or caring if something bug-sized might be crushed. And they are very much bug sized, as the governments are concerned about. Like really concerned about. Like talking about trying to nuke the entity if it wanders closer sort of concerned.
Which they are all very concerned and very much like, against. Because it isn’t seeming to notice the asteroids it’s knocking into their area. It’s like… not a space whale or eel or anything like that but also is something like that.
And they would also maybe like to see if they can attempt to talk it down first maybe and-
oh.
Oh.
That creature is the baby. And mama just arrived, stretching across the entire galaxy, from them to Pluto and beyond, like something took the cosmos and shaped it like clay into some sort of form. Like reality itself has wandered into their galaxy with what they are suddenly realizing must be a very young child.
Shit, they really have to make sure no one tries to piss either of these things off-

Actually there is something so choice about how the narrative around Jason’s death pre-ressurection spends so much time reassuring Bruce (and the audience) that Bruce has no culpability and that Jason was hopeless and even at times tries to convince us that actually Jason wasn’t even really his son so Bruce didn’t fail as a father, he did the best he could really. Bruce doesn’t owe him anything. This could be seen as an attempt to distort history in order cope with Jason’s death, but this narrative is never actually challenged, we’re meant to take it as truth. And then Jason comes back and drags Bruce by the ear and goes actually no bitch you do owe me something you owe me a death. Bruce doesn’t get to wash his hands of him. Jason forces the issue, he refuses to let Bruce walk away clean. Good, he shouldn’t <3

One thing I love about Malevolent is that Harlan let's the characters be flawed. They make mistakes, they make selfish decisions, they have raw emotions, they eat a man, they kill 7 people, they fist a guy, where was I gong with this? Oh yeah, they forgive the unforgivable, its beautiful. They tortured a guy too.

“the worst they could do is kill you” actually the worst they could do is crawl closer to you instead of leaving even though they’re currently bleeding out after cutting their own foot off with a hacksaw in order to escape and the door is open for the first time since you both woke up in this room, just to pull you away from beating the now lifeless body of the man who was about to kill them and proceed to cup your face with the sort of tenderness that wasn’t meant for someone like you, wasn’t meant for either of you not here not now, before saying things that you both so desperately want to believe but know deep down are near impossible all while you feel the searing ache of the bullet wound they put there not moments earlier and then, even as they start to make their way towards the door, even as their shirt slips out of your grasp and your scrabbling fingers can no longer reach their wrist and the chain around your ankle starts to feel like your fate, they still turn back to assure you that they wouldn’t lie to you. if you’re adam saw 2004

I can forgive my father for all his wrongs against me, if only he had treated my mother differently. It is an echo, of what my mother says, "He may not be a good husband, but he is a good father." How do I tell her that one cannot exist without the other? He will never be a good father. He is not good to my mother.

I have all the time in the world. How about you?
Tumblr media
There is a theme to Aylin's threats and vows of vengeance that I've noticed and that I want to share.
Do what you will. I cannot prevent you. But you know as well as I, I will come for you. One day.
That one, for example, is for Balthazar, while she is imprisoned.
I cannot prevent you. But I can advise you. Be careful to whom you yoke your fate. One day, when he is severed from me, Ketheric will die. I will not. And when I am freed, I will remember whose recompense to claim.
Did you expect me to beg? To cry? To plead? For what. I accept my fate - for now. But the life of a divine is longer than you can fathom, Sharran. And this cold chapter will close, one day.
And those are for you, when you've yet to harm her, when she's still only warning you off. But then, if you choose to try to kill her, like so many before you:
Was it everything you hoped for? Was it sweet, Sharran, to murder a paladin of Selûne - her daughter - her sword? Congratulations - your mistress Shar will write your name on her hand. And I? I will come for you. When the time is right.
The next bit depends on your character's gender:
When your sons are grown and your beard is long and wiry; when you cannot hold your nightly water and your nose grows as long as your weary, weary days… When your daughters are grown and your chin sprouts whiskers dark - when your teeth are yellow as corn and your sleep grows short and your days are long and weary, so weary… When your children are grown and your eyes are weak; when your nose grows as long as your weary, weary days…
Ultimately, your fate will be the same:
That is when this immortal will visit you, Sharran. That is when I will show you what it is to be afraid.
All these long-term promises of one day, coupled with inevitability.
I find it so striking that most of Aylin's threats include her flaunting and flexing her immortality (as well as her flawless, long memory) over whoever has wronged her.
Present your weapon, soldier. Plunge it into the Nightsong. I cannot stop you. But know this: I never forget a face. HAH! Are you afraid, Sharran? Do you rattle and jump at the realisation that an immortal has your face emblazoned in her mind forevermore?
Everything is but a passing inconvenience to her, she claims, even a century of imprisonment and torment. Outlasting, outliving - that is simply what she does and what she chooses to intimidate with. Promising to wait until you are old and decrepit, until after you've experienced all the vagaries of age that she never will, leaving her sword hanging over your head throughout the entire miserable lifespan that she has permitted you to have.
Then, if you wrong her in a very heinous way, there's the extreme one of outliving not only you, but killing and extinguishing your entire bloodline in order to obliterate every trace of you from existence:
WHEN I AM FREE, I WILL DESTROY YOU! I WILL MURDER YOU, AND YOUR CHILDREN, AND THEIR CHILDREN BESIDE! I will rip this world apart, plank and beam, until every iota of your being is scalded by my light. This is my promise. This is my vow.
Over and over, Aylin builds her oaths of vengeance on the foundations of an utter, even proud, certainty that she will see her foe end, one way or another, due to her nature and the simple fact of her own endlessness. This is the well she keeps coming back to.
And I find all of this, this consistent insistence on it, so striking and ironic, because one of her other main emotional threads is being thoroughly enraptured by and devoted to and just so completely in love with a mortal. One who will age and die and pass into memory just like all the targets of her rage - if I think of Isobel when I re-read all of that dialogue up there, it seems to cut both ways so deeply. But then there's the extra element that every single one of these is spoken when she either knows or is (incorrectly) convinced that Isobel is dead. Isobel, who didn't get to grow old, and who is both an anchor to humanity and a very painful reminder of the truth of Aylin's situation being twofold.
Aylin will outlast what she hates, yes, but she will outlast what she loves as well.
