'Kay, so game verse and anime/manga verse are kind of different. Even the game name says "alternative rap battle" instead of division rap battle.

It was another mundane day of your life. Pillows surrounded your figure, as you flipped pages of the manga (online or not, up to you). Your drink of choice nearby you, ready to be drank and yet, you are too preoccupied with a manga that you recently found out about. This past months, you've been listening to drama tracks, the songs and reading the manga. The storyline is quite complicated in the beginning, but the more you read, the more you understand. You felt so many emotions during the reading process. Sadness, anger, happiness, love. You were so hooked on it.

Unbeknownst to you, figures inside the said manga were having an existenal crisis. Nothing really new to Ramuda, but you get me. The days have been going as they used to. Rap battles went well. Nothing seemed out of place except for the strange feeling. The feeling of being watched. No one understood why did they feel this way. It was not a stalker was it? They became paranoid, until they started hearing voices. Who is it..?

Everyone finds out or accepts it later, then the characters I listed.

I think some of them hated you, some didn't mind you, while others ignored you. They thought you would leave after a while, and yet, you stay. Why are you watching them?

For some reason they can somewhat feel what you feel towards them. Perhaps their universe is intune with your emotions? Would...would they all die if you stopped liking them?

Their world seems to constantly change as well. Why? Some days you were watching them, and sometimes talking. Other days you..sang along with them? Tried to help them sing better? Helped them during some battles..? (Game moments)

It certainly took everyone a good while to warm up to you. Some warmed up quicker than others (Dice and Jiro, they thought you were some guardian angel or something. Like- you're helping them fr)

Hot otome game takes but most of it is just obey me:

These are just my two cents ofc and people are free to disagree

1) I didn't really like Ikemen Prince. This is coming from someone who normally loves Cybrid games (and has even played some of the routes multiple times !), but everything about Ikemen Prince, from the plot to the characters, failed to grab my attention. In terms of the hype it gets, I think it should be switched with Ikemen Revolution, which I thought was stronger on all fronts but often gets left out of promo

2) The writing in obey me stopped being good about halfway through the first game, when it started attracting a younger fan base. This meant the devs had to balance between catering to the old fans and the waves of new, usually younger fans, so the quality of the writing suffered as a result

3) I'm not massively surprised about obey me nb. Back in 2022 (or whenever tf nb got announced), the devs also announced they'd stop updating om on reddit, a social media platform where the fan base was pretty much nonexistent. The only reason I found out was that I followed @/obeymesimppage on instagram at the time. Tbh, the very idea of nb had always felt pointless to me in terms of the plot - why did I need to start again from a new game after putting a lot of time and reading a lot of the story for the existing one ? Why not just add nb onto the old game as new chapters ? (the reason is money ofc, and trying to milk the vip players and gacha collectors). This, along with the continuation of many of the problems in the old game, was one of the reasons i never properly got into nb. Anyway, 5 more chapters are definitely not going to be enough to wrap up all the ongoing threads in a satisfactory way. The ending, if it will even be something that can be considered that, will probably be rushed and sloppy (am I salty about Thirteen remaining undateable in both games ? Yes. Yes I am)

4) This next one isn't really a hot take from what I've seen, but a lot of MCs are written to be quite two dimensional - most of them are soft, shy and feminine, which there's nothing wrong with, but it gets boring when all of the stories have protagonists that are carbon copies of each other. One of the reasons I like Ikemen Sengoku so much is that the MC is actually funny - she's sassy and takes no bullshit. After bashing it throughout this post, I'll also throw obey me a bone (because there were also many things the devs did incredibly well) - leaving so much about the MC up to interpretation (including the gender, which is definitely sonething I'd like to see more of) was an infinitely better move than writing the same old archetype for every story

5) Please include romanceable women and female friendships. The former is obviously self indulgent, but I feel like the latter would add a whole new dimension to the games and make them a lot more fun and relatable - it's usually just the (normally female) MC with a bunch of guys, so write in another woman who can support the MC, laugh with her and gossip with her about the love interests

6) I'd rather pay an initial price (thank you touchstarved) or watch ads at the end of a chapter than download a "free" game only to be forced to pay for vip halfway through or stop playing (looking at you obey me). I honestly think Cybrid do it best here with their daily free tickets

I wish that Twisted Wonderland was a visual novel or Persona-like console game from the start. Fair amount of the writing issues I have with it would be solved if the story was in one of those formats. It would give the characters more depth, give Yuu more focus, have more streamlined storytelling, possibly add some romance, make the character relationships deeper, allow the player to actually make choices that actually matter and have endings.

Not a strange sentiment to have.

Imagine if Twisted Wonderland was actually a well-written game. . .

Now that's half a joke, but making it a completed game like persona or visual novel would probably lead to an overall more coherent and thought out experience. I'm not sure I'd play it as a full Otome-style dating sim kind of game, but there's definitely something to be said about having a whole packaged deal instead of the agonizing wait for updates. Now we all know why the game is the way it is *cough cough (cash register noises)* and this is what we're stuck with because the more we play the more we prove it's worth in this form, but it'll never stop us from imagining what could have been.

Honestly, I'd love to be playing it on console or PC. Preferred play style tbh.

Exciting to see they’re adding in more stories. I feel like they’re leading up to an actual big event announcement, and I’m getting excited. (Can you guys stop fucking replying to every one of their updates with “when are we getting x?” “Why don’t we have y yet?” Do you think whining like kids asking for extra cookies before supper is really the most effective way to get what you want? Are any of you guys parents? You know how that kind of whining just makes you want to absolutely NOT do the thing)

I’m seeing some super weird discussion about Magnum Opus and how people have a problem with MC and Sylus talking about if they can consider themselves to be dating, when they’ve had all these other intimate cards already.

I mean first of I all think it’s kind of part of the joking banter that they do,

But second of all… like… I’m just guessing this is mostly coming from people who haven’t had many, or any, adult relationships, and haven’t experienced how relationships don’t always (or even, don’t usually!) follow a neat and tidy and clear set of stage progressions all in the proper sensible order. Like. MC and Sylus aren’t some normal couple who knew each other from work and decided to have a meetcute and see if they hit it off, they have past life history with each other which makes things weird and complicated now, they are a criminal and a policeman essentially who really shouldn’t even be together, and can’t be, in public, their first meeting was when he kidnapped her for several days and had her shoot him point blank in the chest… this is not a normal relationship in any sense. And I don’t really want it to be. This is fun and interesting and messy. TBH the idea of them going on “dates” at all is unappealing to me, personally.

And then there’s the folks saying how they can’t imagine the two of them fucking before they even consider themselves to be dating. Some of you guys have some shockingly conservative ideas about sex, and I really wish you’d do some work to unpack that. But whatever your own personal preferences are, that’s one thing and I don’t care, but the general confusion about how they could be intimate like that if they weren’t dating…. Yeesh. I’ve heard some people say “well it’s because I’m (some kind of) ace so that bothers me” look, I’m some kind of ace myself so that doesn’t really work on me, I am still able to understand this concept.

Or possibly, is this coming from the idea that we are supposed to be able to entirely insert ourselves into the MC, so if she’s doing things we personally would not do, this makes the game frustrating? I’ve always found that point of view extremely weird. This isn’t Baldur’s Gate, we have very little control over the conversations and actions in these cards at all. Do you think anyone could write a scenario with no significantly different branching dialogue or actions that would make all the audience able to see themselves there and agree that they would do the same things in those situations? That’s insane. Otome games are all like this, and I know the general idea is that you’re supposed to be able to literally imagine yourself there, (which leads to the MCs in these games being so bland and generic it makes me sad) but like. For real just imagine for a moment how impossible it would be to create mostly non-interactive scenarios where the entire audience would be able to agree with all of the MC’s actions.

Anyway. I dunno. It’s whatever I guess, just, this fandom is so, so weird. Every show and movie and game I get into, the fandom ecosystem is just a little bit different from the last, it’s interesting to see which things attract what types of people, but damn this is one of the weirdest and most worrying fandoms I’ve ever observed. My opinions don’t mean jack shit because I’m the outsider here, playing this game where I am absolutely not the target audience, not even close, but damn some of you guys are really weird about stuff.

EDIT: I’m reading a bit more reactions on Instagram. Ohhhh. No, you guys are legit grossed out by the idea of people having sex before they have some kind of official commitment in place, even as pointless as that official commitment would be in a situation where you have, like I said, two people who knew each other in a complicated past life and should not really be seeing each other at all in the story. You guys really need to unpack this weird puritan stuff. That’s actually super not cool you guys. On the plus side, your future kids will probably be pretty cool, because they’ll grow up rebelling against all your weird hang ups.

Before getting together, Kyle really never paid any mind to you exactly. Like he knew of you but you never interacted with many people, him included, so he sort've did his own thing while you did yours.

It wasn't until you and Butters became friends that he started paying attention to you.

He's figures yourself and him as friends because of this and at some point finds himself drawn to you because of your whole lack of a filter, finds it hilarious when you comment on things without thinking about your words.

After Kyle and you are together is when he realizes how hard you've been trying to get people to recognize you, and swears to himself that he'll help.

He knows how hard or tough it can be on you to get people recognize you, so he's willing to do practice runs or help you with speaking up if you need it.

He's dealt with Stan's own grim outlook on life and knows how to best deal with that. Whether that be by showing you the positives in life or by talking you out of that mentality, he'll know how to deal.

He may come off as a little overbearing with this, since Kyle's always been a positive outgoing person, just let him know and he'll tone it down.

He also knows when you start getting too "into" your head and has you talk / rant to him about what's going on. Is a great listener, maybe not so much on giving advice on certain things, but he makes up for it by listening.

Kyle has always been a defensive person, so if Cartman ever gives you a tough time (which, it's Cartman and he'll most definitely will), he's speaking his mind and defending you.

He hates when people are selfish, so this is where you may experience a bit of conflict. He'll force you to actually do work that you're supposed to do, even if it means being there with you to make sure you do it (and even if it's to help a little).

As much as he loves you, his own morals make him a bit head strong and he'll put his foot down if necessary.

If you get embarrassed by seeing people you know when out on a date, he'll be willing to avoid them with you, Kyle has no issue with seeing people he knows, but if he himself can avoid unnecessary meeting (and therefore small talk) he'll do it too tbh.

Might laugh and make a joke about how silly you two zig zagging around everyone.

To make sure he spend the most amount of time with you though, he usually plans dates to not be too public. Things like parks or movie nights or often enough.

Doesn't understand the otome game aspect of your life in all honesty, if you continue to play while dating him he'd probably get offended a bit, like "...but i'm like right here..? Why would you date..fictional characters."

Kyle is just the sweetest and is most likely to help you and support you with anything you need.

Not my first. I played mysmes like 6 years ago, some of the ikemen series, also paper games other’s game mr queen loves choice but I got stuck on a part and never continued. I used to play Tears of Themis back when it launched, for like 2 years consistently but then I got burnout and stopped. My feelings for ToT are way more positive than for lads tbh, I would play it again if I had the storage and didn’t get overwhelmed by how much I’ve missed.

Started with this one, again since launch, unfortunately. Funny story, I was in such a deep cloud strife obsession that when I saw xavier’s teaser I was like,, huh. Okay. The rest is history. I don’t whale but I’ve bough like, 5 monthly passes. I hate it. Never again, hopefully.

As for cards… I’ve got all of them but romantic afternoon and floral blessing. I didn’t care for the previous one so I skipped. My favorites depend on story vs replay value, I guess. One that checks both, uh, maybe 21 days. And No Restraint?

Okay, Story (Note here). I've been seeing Hatoful Boyfriend stuff and while I'm not sure if I can spend time playing it right now, if I ever was going to play it...how would I go about it, if you don't mind me asking of course.

I did a bit of looking around and apparently there's a paid and a free version? But I'm very new to the visual novel/otome game (newbie gamer in general, actually) so I'm not sure where I should download it or play it (PC? Mobile? Console?) or if I should get the paid, free, or maybe just...look up streamers and experience the story like that? Probably Hatoful isn't a great place to start for this genre of game, but it sounds SO messed up and so interesting that I want to check it out at some point.

I recommend playing it yourself tbh. There aren't many streamers who get past the joke part of the game, and therefore don't finish it or take it seriously. I attached the ones who did, but I haven't watched them myself so I don't know if they're any good.

I also wouldn't worry about playing this as your first otome. Honestly, this is the only otome I've actually played and the only other VNs I've played are Great Ace Attorney and some other mystery games. I honestly think Hatoful is totally fine to start with - for one, there's not too much actual gameplay so it's mostly text, and two, otome as a genre is actually far darker than people think it is. People talk about the dark stuff in Hatoful like it's some huge subversion but honestly, it's more so the batshit insane premise that somehow all connects in the end that makes it unique.

Collar x Malice: Unlimited Review 🐈‍⬛

Ok I know I recently posted a Collar x Malice review, but I’m going in order I played these games. Who’s ready to jump back into the world of Collar x Malice! So some background info to start: this is the first fandisc I have ever played, and as of writing is the only one I’ve played. Because of this, I’m not generally sure what the standards are for fandiscs. I also played this back in 2021, so it has been a while. Please go back to my previous review on Collar x Malice for trigger warnings (use the otome mondays tag)

Spoilers Ahead

Prologue

So to start off this game, we have a separate prologue. You do have to play the prologue because it unlocks all the after stories. So let’s see how this game starts out! Well, for starters we have one of my least favorite things: retroactively adding characters and events that would’ve DEFINITELY been mentioned in the original if it happened. Yeah, needless to say I was not please at this start and quickly became frustrated having to unlock routes. Oh, right if you want to play anything else you have to unlock each boy’s route separately with their prologue choices. So fun! Let’s actually move on to what I bought the game for, 3/10.

Sasazuka Takeru 🍩

So for the after stories, I started with Sasazuka. I saw a recommendation to just pick one that you enjoyed but wasn’t your favorite or pick your favorite to start the game since there’s no need for a route order. I did originally place Sasazuka’s route as solid middle ground in terms of my favorite love interest and also route itself, so it seemed like a safe bet. And thank god it was! This one starts up after the events of his best ending and him rejoining the cyber crimes division. The main conflict here is that Sasazuka and Ichika are learning how to balance work and life and being in a relationship together. The pacing was pretty solid and even though it’s short, it’s enjoyable! If you liked Sasazuka’s route, you’ll enjoy this after story. 8/10.

Yanagi Aiji 🚬

I decided after Sasazuka’s route, I was going to get Yanagi’s out of the way. I do enjoy all the characters, but Yanagi is my least favorite out of the LIs here. After the events of Yanagi’s best ending, we have the start of the after story. Yanagi’s started his private detective agency and everybody’s getting back to normal life. That is until Yanagi’s older brother randomly shows up and threatens him to rejoin the police. So this story mostly focuses on that conflict. This is another cute and short story, so if you liked Yanagi’s route you will like his after story. 8/10.

Enomoto Mineo 🪭

I honestly picked this route next on a whim, and I’m glad I did! This story picks up after he’s been reinstated into Field Ops 2 and now the couple work in the same building. Enomoto’s route definitely focuses on him maturing and developing his relationship with Ichika, and it’s so refreshing to have a portrayal of a healthy relationship in a game (which is rich coming from me tbh). Thanks to his after story, he moved up spots on my favorite LIs list. Honestly I don’t see how anybody would dislike this route. 10/10.

Shiraishi Kageyuki 🐱

Shiraishi yet again stealing the show for some of the best writing…it’s a shame he has this weird extra character. I feel like it’s obvious, but this story has a lot of angst. Because of Shiraishi turning himself in and all of his crimes he committed, he’s under arrest and contained in a special cell. Unfortunately, random extra dude is the main issue in Shiraishi’s story. It is nice to see his growth though as a character. I feel like they did him dirty by making a third of his route flashbacks to the og game. 7/10, Shiraishi fans will probably enjoy but it could’ve been way better.

Okazaki Kei 🏃‍♂️

So I saved my favorite for last, and I’m glad I did! After the X-Day events have wrapped up, Okazaki returns to HQ and Ichika stays with SRCPO. This story also focuses on the two of them trying to navigate being in a relationship and work and life. I was a bit disappointed to see that Okazaki kind of regressed and goes through the same growth all over again but speed run edition. Even though it ends good, this story is kind of meaningless because of this. It isn’t a bad story, just disappointing. Sorry for all us Okazaki fans, 7.5/10.

Other Routes 🐈‍⬛

So let’s talk about the additional bonus routes. To play any of these extra stories, you do need to play through all the after stories. First, let’s go over the Adonis route. This takes place after Yanagi’s tragic end. Ichika joins Adonis after everybody she has cared for is murdered and Zero convinces her to join. It was nice to see Ichika interacting with the Adonis members and how they showed Ichika and Zero have a horridly toxic relationship. If you do want to see all this route has to offer, you do have to replay it a couple of times. Due to this, it’s a little more repetitive than enjoyable at points. Still nice additional content, 8/10. We also have some extended short stories, one from Kazuki’s perspective during X-Day, a semi-Minegishi route, and a semi-Yoshinari route. Kazuki gets an 8/10, Minegishi gets a 4/10, and Yoshinari gets a 7/10.

Overall Thoughts 🐈‍⬛

I like the idea of a fandisc and I think some elements were executed very nicely! Unfortunately, I do have a few issues with some of the content here (mainly the random dude being added and prologue entirely), but I still would recommend it for anybody who enjoyed Collar x Malice! 8/10

Hey i was reading your last writing, and i wanted to say i really enjoyed that one, it quite remember another story of Blot (Macchia Nera e il buon vicinato) but totally makes that as a sequel and totally of his own for real. Idk if the plan of Blot was correct or not (and sadly i cannot help you if there's a plot hole), but the writing was very fluid and some of the comedy/humor was really good and i was a bit nervous about the romance but it was really interesting. I don't think I read that story you're talking about (I would love a link). But this story is actually a follow up (or rather a prequel) to my other fanfiction Detective Mickey Pilot and based on my interpretation of the Phantom Blot and this world. I've been daydreaming and thinking about this story for a very long time and am so glad I finally found the energy to write it down and share it with you all. Plus as I write I end up finding new angles and stuff to add, making the story a bit more complete.

But I am honestly really glad you are finding the romance elements interesting. To be honest, I am very nervous writing them. Love stories can be tough to write as there is a thin line between cheesy and romantic. Plus it can be challenging with the Phantom Blot, because while he does have a "romantic" element to him, he's not exactly a "loving" guy, so trying to imagine how he would act and react in a love story requires a lot of thinking, but is honestly a lot of fun and a great way to dissect more into the character.

Honestly the Phantom Blot has been a blast to write and I can't wait for you guys to see what I've got planned for him, Penelope, and the rest of the story. I'm definitely intrigued by what you guys react to future chapters as I don't want to spoil anything, but I've got a lot of interesting things planned.

Alright, since Utakata no Uchronia is finally being released and I'm gonna be picking up my reservation at Stella Worth tomorrow, let's go through the main and also side characters and talk about which ones I would totally smash

For those of you who don't know Broccoli, the company that produced Jack Jeanne, has come out with a new otome game as of 4/11.

The writing team is basically the exact same team as the one that worked on Piofiore, including the artist RiRi

I'm genuinely so hype for this game. I never ever ever reserve the special edition for a game, but I'm confident this will be a masterpiece like Piofiore. The character designs are all great, the voice actors are top notch A-listers, and they even used live 2D to animate all the sprites! Which has never been done in an otome game before.

This game also has a free trial, which let's you play through the common route, so I definitely encourage anyone who's interested and able to read Japanese to go ahead and play it.

Anyways, let's get to the main cast!

He's clearly the main hero. Putting aside plot stuff and other predictions, his big thing is being quite mysterious. Though he's very friendly, due to his amnesia at the story, we know basically nothing about him. From what I could glean from the info on the site and character PVs, I'm definitely sensing self hatred and angst, and also he's much bolder than I would have expected!

VA: Okamoto Nobuhiko

So far, he's the one I'm most looking forward to. He's the face of the red light district, and is very dependable despite his age. I really adore the deep kindness that seems to underly his tough exterior, and the voice samples give me the picture of a someone who won't reach out to the MC because of his role, and what it would do to her if he were to take that chance. It doesn't matter if she wants it, it would lead to her unhappiness —

Listen I could go on. But to summarize.

Here's the thing about me. I'm always craving a specific kind of angst. I love when one party rejects the other, not because the feelings aren't mutual, but because they have to choose to live by their principles in some way. And I feel that Tobari is the most likely to scratch this itch.

He is basically the MC's personal butler/guardian. They've been by each other's sides since they were children, and he was one of the few that remained after the fire that destroyed her home and killed her parents when she was 8.

I certainly don't dislike this dynamic, but it's not necessarily my biggest thing. The notes said that the theme for his route was "attachment" or "obsession", from the both if them, which is intriguing to me because MC doesn't seem intense to me in that way, but we'll have to see!

He's an officer in the militia Kurozuru, and is outright stated in his bio to have quite the nasty personality.

Tbh he pisses me off too much for me to make a fair assessment of him. He's perfectly physically attractive but I cant get past the urge to strangle him Homer Simpson style.

I'm looking forward to his route only insofar as I hope he gets put in his goddamn place.

VA: Matsuoka Yoshitsugu

He's a skilled craftsman and a childhood friend to the MC.

He has the biggest, fattest, most obvious crush on the MC right out the gate, and it's honestly the cutest thing ever.

I'm honestly shocked this girl hasn't noticed, he barely hides it. Bitch is cute but hella dense.i honestly feel bad for him at this point.

He's really giving me cat energy. Real meow meow catboy energy if you will. Anyway

From what I've seen of this guy, he's genuinely one of the nicest people ever, and I cannot believe he is related to Tori in any capacity. A mystery how he turned out so well-adjusted while Yori is an unapologetic dickhead. Would love to see a side story with him.

OK TOUCHSTARVED DEMO REVIEW!! I JUST FOUND OUT THIS EXISTED YESTERDAY AND STARTED PLAYING

So I was scrolling through tiktok and got THE video of the trailer, immediately started playing which is surprising from me because I normally only procrastinate for everything, even for things I like. But yesterday was a good day it seems.

I started the game and after the short intro selected "the unnamed" backstory I think it's called?? I don't really remember but it was the one where you ran away from your cult village or whatever. For two reasons.

A. I didn't want to have exclusively witty one liners as my dialogue. (The criminal backstory)

B. I'm already playing the arcana (the mage backstory)

Of course I'll play the demo with each one of them later but rn I'm doing various play throughs with variations of what I feel like my own choices would be.

Now for how I like it overall, IT'S SO GOOOOODD!!! I loved everyone just from the trailer alone, everyone except vere, I just really hate his archetype. Let's say me and red haired otome guys have a long time beef, ancestral beef if you will (I'm looking at you castiel...). I just don't like the playboy who is also really mean for no reason and only flirts by making a fool out of you. Anyways, enough about someone I don't really like.

First KURAS, he's soooo my type 🤭 long hair, dark skin, calm and collected! Soo cute, I like his dialogue and interactions in the demo, I haven't unlocked his red option so I feel like he was a little too distant for my liking but I know that'll probably change with the full game (I assume he has one, I mean I got ais' and leander's without even trying).

Now Ais, tbh I tried to stay loyal to kuras but Ais is so hot, cool and kinda flirty... I WAS GIGGLING SO LOUD AND PUNCHING MY PILLOWS, I'm not always for bad boys bc it isn't really done right most of the time (in my opinion) but Ais is really something else.

And lastly Leander, he's hot and sweet, I don't really have much to say about him, I can tell he's the easiest route, at least for me. He's the type of character I can get the good ending of with my eyes closed. I mean we might as well be kissing him by the end of the demo. I still like him tho. I'm just more normal about him than I am about Kuras and Ais. And I can already see him being a fan favorite, so I better like him because all those fanarts are about to infest my feed.

As for mhin and vere. They're not really that interesting to me, I'd say my top would be like this

Art Quality? 9.5/10 soo pretty, the street and city sheets could use a bit more work though. It's kind of underwhelming at the beginning when you see the city and it doesn't really stand out. But maybe it's just me.

Dialogue quality? 9/10 it doesn't feel repetitive, it's immersive and even when there's some corny lines here and there, I'd say it's vere's fault for being a devious bad boy archetype. Because that dialogue is only present with him 🧍‍♀️

And that's it. Even with the wall of text I just wrote I've only played once three routes with the cult(?) Backstory. I will probably write more text walls as I get deeper into the fandom and game.

That being said, he is… somehow the most (frustratingly) interesting characters I’ve ever encountered in an otome? He is so… weird. All the shit he does, and how it all contradicts each other makes me want to pop his skull open, and peel the layers of his brain apart to figure him out.

Like? He spends the whole game whining and complaining about being bored, and how life is so mundane or whatever, prompting him to do the most HEINOUS shit ever, and yet??? He does whatever he’s asked to do by his superiors? He clearly fucking hates his job, and wants nothing to do with anything happening, but he still does his job? You would think he would do something about it (he’s literally so powerful, he could probably do anything about it), but… he kinda doesn’t? He pushes his boundaries with what he can get away with, sure, but at the end of the day, he still does what he’s told, even if it isn’t necessarily how the job should have been done.

Also, he spends a lot of time telling Lili and everyone else to “do what they want,” and he… lets them? But also he still does fucked up shit if the other person does something that goes against what he himself wants?? He is a walking contradiction, and it drives me insane!!!! AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE PANDA PLUSH. WHY DID HE DO THAT. WHAT IS HIS GOAL?? I’M SO CONFUSED!!!!

(Also, keep in mind, I’m still not NEARLY close to done with the good endings of Piofiore yet, let alone the bad ones, so if at some point in the game, they touch on that, or they do in 1926, let me know, but don’t spoil anything, please!)

If he like actually saw the call, or you woke up specifically to take the call without giving him the context first, he would be immediately hit with a large amount of worry, like heart dropping suddenly feeling nauseous kind of worry

You'd have to explain that, no, this isn't an actual person that you know in real life, it's just a game—

His worry would then be replaced somewhat with confusion, and also more worry, because you have referred to where he came from as a game before too—

Does this mean that it's possible for this person to suddenly show up and claim they deserve your attention??? He will fight them for it and he's not going to lose—

Promise him that it's all completely fictional and none of these people are actually real and it's just done for entertainment purposes

All that might make him feel a little bit better, but there's still going to be a bit of worry there because doesn't he entertained you enough? Are you not getting enough emotional fulfillment out of the relationship you currently have with him, that you have to default to a virtual one?? Do you just like these characters personalities more than his???

Okay so-- few months ago me and my friend were talking about what if DOL has an ending, bad one, since me and my friend are bad ending enthusiasts, it gave me an idea i shared to them months ago.

Neutral Bad Ending

MC comes home wet by the rain outside, they will come asking around orphans about Bailey's whereabouts, a orphan would approach them and say Bailey is currently occupying the bathroom,

There are two scenarios that might happen with this ending:

1. If PC is in High Trauma or just achieved the Whitney and Robin Park cutscene/event (which i made up in my mind), PC would ask for the orphan's hair dryer saying "needing to dry their hair because of the rain" before heading to the bathroom where Bailey is in and plugging it on the extension cord, a moment later, Bailey would notice PC's presence and would ask "what the fuck do you want brat? can't you see im in here?" PC would just give him a stare and would ask for his birthday

Defiant: "When's your birthday Bailey?"

Neutral: "i just want to know when is your birthday Bailey?"

Submissive: "W-well, i want to ask... w-when is your birthday Bailey?

At this, Bailey would respond "Why the hell would you want to know? i don't want any of your crappy gifts", PC will insist that they should just say when it is and they'll leave, Bailey would give it up and say "June 12, now get the fuck out of here." PC would smile at them saying that they'll remember it before throwing the plugged hair dryer on a extension cord at the bathub with Bailey.

If PC with High Trauma or the Whitney and Robin event (again made up in my head which i didn't write yet) is not acquired but Robin is on the underground brothel or the Orphanage had gained Rebellious trait it would follow this scene:

2. PC would pull some furnishings from around the orphanage towards the bathroom door exclusively trapping Bailey in the bathroom, the orphans would look at them confusedly and they will just assure them that they will end all of this, the orphans will still not get it but they will help PC pushing the furnitures, it has three stages

"You cover the bathroom door with furnitures and large objects, Its barely covered. he/she could come out easy"

"You cover the bathroom door with furnitures and large objects, Most parts were covered. he/she would sturggle to come out"

"You covered the bathroom door with furnitures and large objects. the door is fully covered. he/she cannot come out."

if high skullduggery, Should PC and the orphans move the furnitures quitely through the bathroom door, if not a chair would make a screeching sound alerting Bailey making the Player choose if they should take the risk on continuing or not.

*not continuing would fail this ending even if the door is already covered fully

continuing, would have Bailey rattling the doorknob only to not being able to open it, Bailey would soon bang the door for all of them to remove the blockage at once or else they will taste their wrath, but with PC contiuing and successfully covering the door, they hurry and lead the other orphans outside as they pick up a canister of gasoline and surrounded the whole orphanage with it including the furnitures near the bathroom door, they will pick up a match on Bailey's office and lit the gasoline tracks on fire.

EH? EH? WHATCHA THINK??? tbh this is just a fun lil concept on an ending i made up in my mind since i played a lot of otome games and gained a lot of bad endings... which happened too much to be considered normal cuz normally i just fuck around with characters lmao, but i hope you enjoyed it.

Now that I think about it, I don't think it matters about the gender of MC to be honest. I think the only reason why they didnt really specify is because nor all players are male or not all are female or non-binary . So I think they just treat MC as gender neutral tbh so that female players dont feel like they are constantly referred as a boys and male players don't feel like they are referred to as a girls. And the non binary players are mistaken for a he OR a she. To kind of make it all equal.

Of course in the manga, Yuu/Yuuken was introduced as a male but thats the manga, but i dont think Disney intended him to replace the people behind the screem of the game tbh. Why would the game talk to you in the 2nd person if there is already a character for that already or they could have never even ask for OUR names if there was a character like that already.To all the people who thinks that MC cant possibly be a girl/boy/gender-neutral, you literally got teleported to another world, which even the dark mirror/Crowley doesnt understand. I don't think whatever brought you to Twisted Wonderland even cared to see what gender you were or how magical you were even though it sent you to a boys' school.

Sorry if I came across as aggressive (if I even did) but this is to the people who have a problem when they think Yuu/MC/reader (whatever you call it) can't be anything other than a male character and have a problem with creators who write them as gender-neutral or female. Of course it isn't a problem if you prefer it to be a male character but please don't slander the ones who prefer it not to be. I mean Twst came out a year or two years ago, not a century so I don't think every female character in it will end up having such a traditional role. Maybe Eliza did but there were some female characters in Chaoter 6 that didn't have those kind if roles.

Feel free to challenge my opinion since I am an open minded person and is open to other people's opinions too and I promise this wasn't an attack to male MC preferences at all.Please understand that it is an OPINION.

Those were really good points. I haven't played twst myself, so I didn't know that they refer to Mc by name or in the second person. Or that they treat Mc genre neutral for behavior. Which is actually a really reasonable bet because this way some players can forget that Mc is a man.

And when it comes to Manga (and maybe also Visual Novel ) it's true. Their purpose is to tell the story and not to make the reader imagine that they are the main character.

I'm not familiar with the matter, but I believe that the majority of Male Mc supporters want Mc to be a man so that they can identify with the character themselves. As an earlier Anon commented they don't have that much material. Not even a fandom because several authors only write Fem Mc ( this is not an accusation. )

That's why it would be important to them. As far as I know, Obey me is ONLY an anime based on an Otome game where Mc is gender neutral. I hope that romantic anime with a gender-neutral protagonist will become more common.
