Making the rounds of some good KDramas now, and enjoying myself so much, but the need to come back and just scream into the void about how amazing “The Guest” and Kang Gil Young are just don’t seem to get stale ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

(Everytime - even shows which are “objectively” better than TG - I watch a new show, and complete them, the comparison of TG and the other shows just pop up regardless of my own personal enjoyment of the dramas. Mostly just how the shows and characters made me feel, independent of the quality of the shows. Kang Gil Young just set my heart on fire ❤️‍🔥🥹🤩🥰)

Revisiting the second-half Episode 5, and KGY’s relationship with Go-Sunbae is so heartwarming. 🥰🥹 I always learn so much about her from their interactions, and each “lack” in her life made me want to head canon something better for her post-canon. She makes my heart ache, and made me want to give her everything.

#jung eun chae #kang gil young #the guest #Sohn The Guest #second half of Episode 5 #her whole life is just her job 😭😭😭🫡#KGY is such a workaholic OMG #trying to bury her trauma by being a workaholic #my poor strong girl #she was so pretty here #she was gorgeous throughout but she also shone in denim #well basically she will look stunning in even a literal rice sack FR #and rewatching it really struck me that given the ‘everyday aesthetics’ of the show #and with YHP and CY ‘darker-skinned’ looking (Kim Dong Wook went sun-tanning for the role) that KGY LITERALLY radiated fairness beside them #she truly popped with her lustrous fair skin and black-black eyebrows and hair #especially in a sea of mundaneness #she commanded ALL my attention whenever she appeared onscreen 😍🤩😭✨⭐️#eyes glued to her ‘perfection’#a broken record but still can’t get over how much I am fixated on KGY #JEC was ‘objectively’ more stunning in The King as PM Koo Seo Ryeong #but KGY’s more naturalistic aesthetics/visuals are my preferences #and I can’t get over how gorgeous I find KGY #so so fabulous in her simplicity #even Kim Jae Uck was most compelling and attractive to me as Choi Yoon (and Mo Tae Gu)#not so much since then however 😔#still simping for KGY #still prostrating and worshipping at her feet

#jung eun chae #kang gil young #the guest #sohn the guest #Episode 5 #rewatched a bit of the episode yesterday and OMG #KGY still blows me over #reminded me how much this episode also showcased the personality differences between KGY and Choi Yoon (and YHP)#after discovering the truth #CY was very aggressive with Yoon Hwa Pyeong too #but merely pulled on YHP’s collar and shouted at him #contrasting with KGY’s unhesitating punch/fist #another emotionally satisfying episode as well #and has one of my favourite shipping moment/interaction 🥵😍🤩🥰☺️#the first time KGY and CY are in the same scene and acknowledged each other #and that ‘thank you’ by CY being mirrored later in Ep 13 🥰🥹☺️😌#an amazing episode #KGY’s very brash and blunt brush-off of CY’s amiable politeness #am such a simping fangirl for KGY’s brand of prickly and hot-tempered awesomeness #and I just want to gush at how stunningly beautiful she is #worshipping at KGY’s feet (literally)
