It occurred to me (as I mentioned Jaheira in the last post) that I don't have a second BG1/2 Bhaalspawn to slot into Rakha's worldstate. (And realistically I'm probably not going to play the older games in their entirety again, certainly not to liveblog depth.)
So just like Buddy is Buddy in every BG3 worldstate, I think Caden is just gonna be my Bhaalspawn in every worldstate. He is a constant across the multiverse, casually sitting in Faenya-Dail kissing Aerie and staying the hell out of trouble. XD

Hii! :D For the love your fandom asks: 5, 14, and 25 please <3
Thank you for the ask!
5. something you see in fics a lot and love
When OCs meet! I love OC crossovers, whether it's in the form of two worldstates colliding (two OCS who are both inquisitors, etc) or whether one person's OC is a "companion" in another person's world state.
I love seeing it as a form of fandom love between people ❤️
(And btw if anyone is writing one of these oc crossovers and uses eluvians to cross between worlds, consider submitting to the Mirrors to the Multiverse collection! Please see the rules and FAQ, tldr: you don't have to be associated with me or any server or anyone already in the collection, to submit to the collection!)
14. the ship that always makes you smile
Charter/Lace Harding. Deep take but I just find every instance of it makes me smile to think about.
25. piece of advice for taking care of yourself in fandom spaces
People are more often stupid, or even more often they are busy, rather than malicious. Assuming malice/gossip/purposeful ill-intentions behind anyone's actions (or inactions) is just a recipe to hate everyone in fandom. You end up doubting that anyone is genuine when they ARE being nice and you start bringing rain clouds over your head to every fandom space. Stop it, touch some grass, and ignore people who annoy you and just focus on making, consuming, celebrating, things that you enjoy.
The cast of people in your fandom who you like will change, and it's not because of giant personal rifts or people not liking you. Like all online spaces, interactions are ephemeral. Enjoy a relationship, or interaction, or community space, while it's good. When one is over, look forward to the next, and be open for a return to the old one if the time comes. :) You never know, but you certainly won't have a bridge to cross in the future if you torpedo it 🤘

🍓🍓🍓 dealer's choice 💖
finally answering these oTL it's been a bad week for Focus™
🍓 - Violet Cottonwood is one of my Pokemon oc's (she's a botanist that specializes in how natural flora interacts with Pokemon, specifically grass types). a fun fact about her...well it's not so fun but she has migraines due to exposure to ultra space
🍓 - Maura (Song, King/Cain, etc) is my multiverse oc, she was originally my MC for playing The Arcana, which I don't play anymore but I missed her so I have plans to integrate her into a lot of worldstates. she's very bad at standing up for herself but will do anything to protect her family and friends
🍓 - Lillian Caron is my Orlesian Warden-Commander, who did everything in her power to help the poor people of Amaranthine (while sticking it to the nobles when possible). she often gives out scraps of food to stray animals (to the point where Vigil's Keep has a petting zoo lmao) but don't accuse her of being soft or she'll gut you
tsym for the ask!! ❤

Zemariel Tabris, city elf dual-wielding rogue (he/him)
Zemariel is one of those characters who has kind of two incarnations, the first being as the first character I played through Dragon Age: Origins and my world-state canon Warden, the second being a member of the Invictus Alliance trying to save the multiverse in my family's long-running D&D/D20 Modern campaign. In that one there were some more Wardens with him, but otherwise his backstory is much the same (although edited for a few foolish/questionable things he did but that others would've stopped him from doing if he'd been there).
I went on a whole tear of doing a lot of Dragon Age art in 2020 for some reason and then haven't since, so that's when all this art is from.
Zemariel generally tried really hard to do the right thing, but also managed to fail at it most of the time, leaving an interesting worldstate to follow. It's definitely in character for him to go off and try to find a cure for the Calling, so that's a plus there. In the other reality, he's happy enough to evade it by being in a different world without Darkspawn, the only downside of which being he can't see Zevran or his friends for a while (he tells himself it's not forever, but who knows?).
And since this is part of my yearly Pride Month queue where I post art of my various LGBTQ+ characters, it's worth mentioning that Zemariel is gay.

a dream is a conversation
kyros + nadia | 1969 words | gen
“I have known you a long time, have I not?” she asks. He feels a shiver, something cold and faraway still somehow in his skin. “Is this your dream, or mine?” she asks. “A dream…is a conversation. It is a story we are both telling.”
OR
ky and nadia leave a room together
a crossover with weights & measures by @motherofqups, a w&m fanfiction, as it were - directly connects to moc's worldstate and contains heavy references to the apprentice multiverse

okay so: there are a decent amount of timber fics that pit Tim and Bernard against each other as enemies in some way. some variations of this include Bernard getting possessed, Tim as Joker Junior, or Bernard as a mob heir. but, you know, we are missing one scenario: evil gun Batman.
but this post is not about timber + evil gun batman!tim. this post is about the circumstances that it would take to get Tim to agree to being Batman in the first place, which are many because of our current set of characters. but first, let's discuss our theoretical worldstate.
1) Approximate ages
Tim is 24. Steph is 25, Cass and Jason are both ~26, Dick is like...31?, Duke is 22, and Damian is 18. I don't know how old Babs is in the current canon but we'll assume that she's, like, a couple years older than Dick. Helena Bertinelli (who will matter later in this) is between Dick and Barbara. Bruce is in his 40s and we'll just leave it at that.
2) Hero mantles
It's pretty much what you would expect, but I'll detail a couple things: Cass and Steph are still sharing Batgirl, but Babs has stopped the mantle entirely and is Oracle full-time, as she should be. Damian is still Robin but he's not happy about it and is on the verge of quitting to become someone else/leave Gotham/whatever. Tim is...it's complicated, okay? It's not that Tim doesn't want to be a vigilante. He definitely has a healthy civilian-vigilante life balance! I think right now he's not really patrolling formally, but he does do stuff for the vigilante network that Babs doesn't because she's busy with the Birds of Prey/non-Bat projects she's working on right now and can't keep track of vigilantes in Gotham who aren't the Bats. People like Xanthe, Helena, Claire (Gotham Girl), some non-Duke We Are Robin alumns, etc.
3) Other miscellaneous stuff
Kate is in the Bat-circle, but falls more under Tim's purview of "vigilantes operating out of Gotham who aren't really part of the Batfam" than under Bruce's purview of "Batfam leader". She's still Batwoman, though. Darcy Thomas is still friends with Tim and operating as Sparrow, but with an actual vigilante costume and not just a purple hoodie and a domino mask. Tim operates out of a larger version of the murder houseboat.
Okay, now: why is Tim Batman, again?
Tim does not want to be Batman. This is important. This is also preceded by a giant conga line of tragedies. For this to happen, Dick, Cass, and Bruce all either real-die or fake-die. I imagine Bruce is not really dead because he's not allowed to die. He just got lost in the multiverse because of a glitchy portal or something. Cass died in the line of fire trying to protect someone, because if she did try to dodge the bullets someone would die. Not sure about Dick yet. Maybe he had to fake his death again to go undercover. (Tim will absolutely call him an asshole for this.) The order of events is probably that Dick is the first one, then Bruce, then Cass. Cass ends up surviving the injury miraculously, but is in a coma/stuck in physical therapy/unable to do vigilante work. Damian is at a point in his character development where he no longer wants to be Batman. Helena does not want to do that again. Jason is like "fuck Batman we do not need Batman".
Duke asks if there's anyone else who's ever been Batman. Tim has flashbacks to Azbats. But then he does have a brainwave and attempts to reach Helena, but Babs says she's out on an important thing for the Birds of Prey and won't be back for a while. >:(
Nobody wants to be Batman, but Tim is exactly the kind of character who would do it anyways because Gotham needs a Batman. (Someone who is better read on Damian would be able to talk about how this impacts him, but I'm sure it would not be pretty, especially considering the character developments I've given him for this scenario. He does not want to be Robin anymore! He was already approaching that point when Bruce disappeared!)
#dc#tim drake#it takes more people dying before tim gets to the part where he's ~evil~ batman. because tim does not change his morals very easily.#i'm not sure i will do more with this concept. but it certainly does exist!#au: gotham needs a batman

i realize I certainly gonna have to add an orlesian warden for my tabris world state cause that man didn't stick around the warden business one second more than necessary :'D
good excuse to dust off my caron viviennemancer I never did anything with 👀
it does bother me a little for the multiverse stuff but I think I'll just say that him and my custom origin orlesian warden (beauchêne) from my aeducan worldstate trailed along the fereldan wardens somewhere somehow even if not necessarily as warden commanders/heroes. it doesn't affect them that much, as long as they still meet their romances. :p

A comprehensive list for Characters, Aus, and Nicknames:
So buckle up this is probably going to be one of the longer posts. I tried to organize it in a way that makes sense who knows if i succeeded
Au: Fellswap Gold
———— Fellswap Gold is the au in which everything is taking place. I’m definitely tweaking things(side eyes the shit out of my own oc) but for the most part i like the worldstate as is because the world building the original creator did is fucking awesome. Basically 1950s-1960s style kinda world where the underground has been freed and there is a relative sort of peace at this point in time. relations between monsters and humans are somewhat tense.
The boys live in a city that was built at the foot of ebbot that was designed to be the place where humans and monsters could prove coexistence possible. Though not many humans were really chomping at the bit to go live there.
FellSwap Gold Papyrus - Pap, Pyrus
FellSwap Gold Sans - Sans, Fearless
Fellswap Gold Alex - Alex, Human, Firestarter(It was One Time!)
Au: Fellswap Violet
———— so this is one of the aus i had a hard time researching initially and im planning on trying to go looking for more info before i write anything for cash. Most of my current knowledge of him is tangential to other crossover fics.
For the purposes of this fic though Cash served a role in his underground as something of an information broker and protection dealer(among other things). in his timeline the monsters have been freed and Cash has been on the straight and narrow for a while.
Fellswap Violet Papyrus - Purple, Cash
Au: Dancetale
———— Campbell is the closest we actually get to a classic sans and i wanted him here because for one thing i think the dynamics of dancetale are so cool but also i dont tend to see a lot of fics that include him in the crossovers. So why not? Also he looks so soft and squishy in comparison to the fell aus. In Campbells timeline The Underground has yet to be freed. This may be important later
Dancetale Sans - Campbell
Au: Gourmet-tale
———— par is from an au my friends designed that i made an oc for and then also made a couple of variants of as time went on. They are my baby tbh and i love them dearly. So dearly as to kinda wanna watch them vaguely suffer.
This particular variant is from an au where the monsters were never sealed underground. This world is high-key very food focused to the point where honestly this au is basically a cooking anime. Par works in a hole-in-the-wall cafe as a waiter. Also to be noted Par is in fact a variant of Alex. Yeah remember how i mentioned monsters were never sealed? Yeahhhh humans dont really exist anymore by this point in time; theyre basically nonexistent as the species got subsumed by monsterkind.
Par the Fire/Earth Elemental - Par, Hothead
Au: nonexistent
———— Broadcast’s au no longer exists and whoever they were before what they are now, they do not know and do not care. Broadcast exists because they are mainly based on the idea that the multiverse is essentially a living organism and things like broadcast exist to destroy decaying cells before they spread decay to healthy cells. The cells in question are the infinite verses that exist.
Their job so to speak isn’t necessarily to destroy everything in their path but to look for the things that are already decayed to the point of no return. Sometimes Broadcast can save a bit of something that hadn’t decayed yet or, in rare cases, even fix a decaying verse by destroying the source of decay before it gets too far along. They’re less a god of destruction and more just the cleanup crew. They are also half of a pair of their own. And together they very much exist in a yin and yang like balance, creating from destruction and destroying from creation both in turn. All in all they were very fun to make but they are essentially an oc inspired off of error rather than a variant of error!Sans himself by this point.
If you want info/references about error!sans go take a look at LoverofPiggies here on tumblr.
I’d also suggest taking a look at the “forced god of destruction” tag on Ao3 as that played some pretty good parts in broadcasts design as well
Error! Alex - Static, Broadcast, Bars, Editor
Au: Storyshift Swap(bara)
———— hoo boy so i had a very specific idea for cobalt initially and when i went to do research because surely someone had already created this au yes? Yknow what i found? Practically nothing. So very much in keeping with the rest of this fic i rolled up my sleeves and went i guess im making it??? Storyshift is already confusing ill admit and swapping everything around definitely made it moreso but i had fun with it.
Cobalt lives in the ruins, very much haunted by the decisions his brother has come to and has been desperately trying to protect each child that goes through the ruins. He has yet to succeed. Needless to say The monsters have yet to escape the underground in his timeline.
Storyshift Swap Sans - Robes, Cobalt
Au: SpaceOpera
———— ooh this is a fun one. So technically Antares is as he is described however i want you to toss everything except the bare bones of the Outertale au out. It wont help you here.
This is another au me and my friends made and never posted anything about ever. But we were obsessed. This thing got so much worldbuilding to it! I got to design a whole ass planetary system and lifecycle!!! Ooh it was fun! So i wanted to pull one of the characters in for this. Antares is also the only one who would recognize Par as there is a version of them within his timeline. Speaking of:
Antares’ timeline is a long and convoluted one this is in part due to Monsters not being a singular species within his universe. They are various species who are all united(for the most part) by treaties and the like to a galactic community. Antares is from a species that looks vaguely like skeletal insects. His original planet was also destroyed and he was among the few lucky enough to survive the following extremely difficult years(this is where the horror part is accurate) his people are currently within the rebuilding process of their home and culture on a new planet and are on the mend.
Horror OuterFell Papyrus - Antares

kiraia replied to your post “Making sense of my worldstates is also a passion/curse of mine, so I'm...”
I feel that! I solved the Hawke thing by having just one canonical one and having alt origin oc intervene in their stead in the other worldstates. It usually happens with Hawke dying, either at the prologue, thus having both twins surviving and reaching Kirkwall, or in the Deep Roads. In one she turns Tranquill between act 1 and 2. In her stead I have a merc friend from the Red Iron, an origin!Amell who found himself in the Kirkwall circle, a cast away templar, etc..!
I considered doing that for a while (and I still might for the few worldstates where I don’t have a Champion because it’s a great idea!), but it was important for plot reasons that the Champion be Hawke in Mahariel’s worldstate and I couldn’t use Alwyn again since he’s a mage and gay, and I wanted Bethany and a romance with Merrill. While I can easily ignore canon for Bethany, the gay part is a little bit trickier (I know he’s my character and I can do whatever I want with him, but it still doesn’t really sit well with me).
So in the end, I’ve got 3 Hawkes, 2 of which are going to be siblings (with one of them dying young or running away, idk) and I just use whichever works best for any given worldstate.
kiraia replied to your post “Making sense of my worldstates is also a passion/curse of mine, so I'm...”
I don't really have all ocs be relevant in different worldstates, they are more, like, in standby, but I have a multiverse with all wardens, hawke+friends and inquisitor+allies surviving and working together at the same time! and that's my fuel >>
I don’t have headcanons for all of them, and sometimes it’s just “they died before the story starts” or it’s the same story in every worldstate where they don’t become a hero. But I just love Ana so much that I can’t help adding her everywhere, lol, and keeping track of her is starting to be a little complicated ^^
At some point, I did want to write an AU where all the warden origins met and teamed up to do things. It was mostly set during the events of DA2 and DAI since it started in Kirkwall. I put it on hold because I don’t have an Aeducan or a Brosca yet.

Bloggin’ bout HS^2′s second upd8 continued. > (==>)
And it had felt so real, almost like he could have reached out and touched him--
--Yeah, the next page is gonna be BGDirk just standing there like I saw before I read the update, right?
> (==>)
> (==>)
Two pages. Close enough.
> (==>)
Hah! Get fucked, Dirk. (Even if you’re supposedly one of the better Dirks.)
> (==>)
Yep, all see-thru and everything.
DIRK: You passed out in a puddle of your own drool. And what the fuck is that on your face? JAKE: My face? What do you mean on my face? DIRK: The moustache, Jake. Who’s idea was that. JAKE: Oh! You dont like it? DIRK: I didn’t say that.
Oh come the fuck on. He looks good in a mustache, Jane-influence or no Jane-influence.
DIRK: We’ve had this conversation before, dingus. I’m you. And I’m me. But I only exist because of your powers. The fact that I’m manifesting here, in the new universe, outside of a dream, is evidence in itself for just how absolutely boned you are.
Now what exactly do you mean by that last part? How is this a sign of trouble?
--Is it because this Dirk thinks he’s needed? And therefore shit will be going down?
DIRK: You’ve been a useless sack of shit for two decades. I’m here to kick your ass back into active duty.
...Hm.
I mean, Jake MIGHT be able to help stop this stupid goddamn war, but this IS Dirk trying to help him, so...
JAKE: And what side am i supposed to be fighting on? for jane or against her? DIRK: Against her. Obviously. What the fuck, dude.
Pffff.
JAKE: But you were the one who wanted her to run in the first place! You wrote her bloody speeches! DIRK: Yeah, I did. And every single one of them kicked ass. I wanted Jane to be the democratically elected president. Not a cake-slinging Jeff Bezos with a great rack.
Pfff. I mean, you didn’t do a great job the first way, either. It’s heavily implied things in Canon-land were about to go to shit too.
Not as FAR to shit, nor as quickly, but still to shit. So, really, how DIFFERENT is this from the way you wanted it done, Dirk? How can you claim this isn’t half YOUR fuck-up too?
DIRK: Don’t worry about it. The point is, you have a chance to make a difference. You’re in the perfect position to infiltrate her operation.
Oh hell no. Don’t send him back in THERE you utter horse’s ass! How could THAT be good for his mental health!? What the fuck about Tavros?!?
DIRK: That’s horseshit and we both know it. Jane would take you back in a second. She loves you.
I think Jane’s definition of “taking him back” would be a bit broader than his body or soul could fucking afford.
> (==>)
Eugh. You really liked the Condesce’s way of doing things right down to her style, huh? To think you used to love the spoon. Is that a fucking spork? Is that zilly Battlespork your go-to weapon now?
Also, it took me a moment to realize those green and orange silhouettes were Jake and BGDirk. I was a little like “how did Rose get here?!?”.
> (==>)
Have I mentioned how good all this art is? So much attention being paid to the use of color, to making everything look so soft and streamlined?
Looks like she’s going in for at LEAST a hug. And the art style might be mercifully light on showing us indulgent details of just how asset-laden Jane is supposed to be. Shots of Jake’s manly bod aside, something in me doesn’t like the traditionally-sexualized stuff pushed like that in a canon that’s been light on it for so long...
> (==>)
Oh, that... THAT looks fake. Or like, she’s about to turn around and happily wail on his ass or something.
JANE: Boo hoo hoo! Oh, Jake! Something awful has happened! JAKE: It--it has? You mean more awful than usual? JANE: The opposition has taken Tavros, Jake. They’ve finally shown their true colors. I knew it was only a matter of time before they attacked our family directly!
.....Ah. Well, that explains it. She’d never cry like that about HIM returning AFTER STEPPING OUT ON HER.
It’s then that Jake realizes that Jane isn’t mad because she’d never realized he was gone.
Poor pages, huh? All their most dramatic gestures always undercut.
...It seems like we might see Candy kind of resolved in less of a fucked-up worldstate after all, at this rate?
She seems to have forgotten that she’d been cross with him the last time they met, because now that Gamzee is gone, there’s no one left to talk to.
It’s true. Gamzee’s absence always improves things.
> (==>)
All of it is made worse by the occasional wry glint in her eye, or moment of self-deprecation in the slant of her mouth. It reminds him of the Jane he used to know. Or the Jane he thought he used to know.
Ambition is a hell of a thing. Seems like she’s drunk of it almost as deeply as Prince Dirk. I’d imagine this could be a pretty consistent thing with really active Life players when they get actual power, huh? The way it just gathers to Life players in all its forms -- power over others, status, wealth -- it’s easy to start to leverage it in ways that constitute abuse of power over others from a Riddle perspective.
At first Dirk stands at Jake’s elbow, a one-ghost support staff, before he appears to lose interest in Jane’s rant and wanders off across the office, reading the spines of books and spending way too long staring at a startlingly phallic piece of installation art,
--PLEASE let us see it.
, the provenance of which Jake doesn’t know, but could hazard a guess it wore a codpiece.
Nope, never mind. Interest lost.
> (==>)
Then he settles on Jane’s desk, propping his ghost butt there and sort of just...well. Here’s a picture of what he does.
Um.
Where is this going?
> (==>)
Oh, so the BEST option, then. :D
Okay. That’s a bit of an exaggeration.
Boooooo.
> (==>)
--Alright, forgiven.
he’s thoroughly exhausted from attempting to pay attention to his supervillain wife while trying not to look at the crotch of a ghost man from his brain.
...Okay, hold up. BGDirk, are you trying to steer him into doing this for self-indulgent, non-comedic purposes? Or is this a bit of Prince Dirk in there? (I mean... I can’t definitively say Jake wouldn’t have wanted this.)
And I’m still wondering how all of this is going to be relevant. IF it’s going to be relevant. Despite promises to the contrary that are seemingly being ignored.
> (==>)
DIRK: All according to keikaku.
Fuck you.
JAKE: i really didnt think id fall off the wagon so quickly. I dont think being here is good for my emotions to be honest. DIRK: Yeah, probably not. But that’s okay. They don’t matter. JAKE: Oh.
Yeah, Dirk, you suck at this more than you know. This ain’t going to go as well as you “hope” I don’t think.
DIRK: Don’t know anything about stiff lips, dude. But that’s not what I mean. It’s not because you’re a man. You’re a god. JAKE: Oh right. That. DIRK: The world comes first, even at the expense of all your relationships and personal happiness. That’s what being a hero means. JAKE: I guess...i never really thought about it like that.
You’re also not guaranteed to be fucking right, you know.
There are definitely dichotomies where what was best for the world wasn’t best for the person, so far, and vice versa in Homestuck. But Dirk’s taking his anime-flavored principles as gospel as usual, and ignoring, oh I dunno, the impact of the heart in all of this. Some people, ESPECIALLY JAKE and other Pages so far, CAN’T operate at their best until they’re at least reasonably healthy and sure of themselves, and investments to that effect are essential to letting them slowly realize their full potential. Brain Ghost Dirk is likely making the same goddamn mistake he made with his overbearing Dirkbot back on Jake’s island.
> (==>)
DIRK: Think what you want about Jane, but at least she realizes that none of you can ever be normal, and she never bothered to try. Can it really be a god-complex if you’re actually a god? DIRK: People like us don’t get happy endings.
...Yup. This is the fucked-over part of Dirk’s worldview coming in full play, here. And he believes in it so strongly that he couldn’t even fucking leave NON-CANON alone anymore. Fuck.
JAKE: Thats bleak dirk i dont think i could possibly believe that!
Mmmhmm.
DIRK: Yeah. That’s probably more a Dirk thought than a Jake one. I told you, it’s hard to tell sometimes. JAKE: Is...is that really how dirk felt the whole gosh darned time?
Mmmhmm.
> (==>)
Last page of the upd8. Well... all I can say is, it’s a good thing he’s a fucking ghost here. And half Jake, at that. At least that can limit the damage. Hopefully giving Jake just enough of a kick in the doing-something direction without being so overbearing that he makes things worse, making for a balance of...
...Wait.
Wait, is that why we’re here?
Maybe that finally makes some sense of all this. Of this cut, of this small violation of that last sentence in Meat, of-- ah, yeah, I might be on to something here! Only maybe, but still--!
We’re quite possibly bearing witness to a realm of influence where, through measures outside of his control, Dirk has a balanced impact. Where this same ideology of his, tempered by Jake’s hopeful mindset and Dirk’s inability to take direct action, might just manage to make things better and actually make everyone happier by the end, while solving Earth C’s fucked-up Candyland state at the same time. It’s possibly to show the readers (through the lens of a Hope player specializing in positive possibility) that Dirk, had he been restrained, COULD have had a positive impact, even at the same time that we’re shown Prince Dirk at his soul’s most overblown and heinous.
And, if we want to be optimistic..... perhaps this’ll show Dirk, too?
Canon and Non-Canon may not “meet” again. But that doesn’t stop Dirk, via this fragment of his multiverse-spanning soul, from seeing Non-Canon. From seeing how well things COULD have worked out, had he held back. And if we keep cutting like this -- back and forth between the “real” story and these events in Candyverse -- perhaps the moment at which Brain Ghost Dirk realizes what he’s accomplished, realizes how much better things are because he could hold back, will coincide at the end with Prince Dirk finally, belatedly, realizing just how fucked his plan was, and understanding at the very, very end why he has to fucking die?
THAT would be interesting.
I guess we’ll see? Talk to y’all next upd8.

so, UPDATE!
I got it. ✊😌
Her name is Andrea Amell!! Planning for her to be the pretty much standard Origins Amell and through her voyage to the Temple of Sacred Ashes developing a mystical connection (true or imagined only history will tell adsshghsd) with Andraste's "Spirit". (I headcanon her bonding without her direct knowledge to a spirit of Faith, probably)
Once she defeats the Archdemon (well, Loghain does, but we know how that goes down in history), she becomes really obsessed with Tevinter history and how it links to Andraste, magic and its role in society and the Blight! Really goes the faithful historian route (and sort of the religious conspiracy theorists as well adfgshgd) to wanting to learn of the origins of the Blight. So she quickly abandons her Warden Commander post (to my Orlesian Warden Beauchêne) and goes towards the North to look for more texts and make her own researches.
She finds herself in Kirkwall in the following years, studying the Tevinter history left there more or less under the Circle's tutelage but with the liberties coming from being the Hero of the Fifth Blight. She meets the Hawke crew (before Hawke gets in trouble ans i made tranquil) and gets into a semi pious semi overtly passionate relationship with Sebastian. After the disaster retaining the Hawke siblings (one tranquil and Carver templar) the crew is held more or less together by Varric and a ex-templar oc of mine (Ariel Bourgeois) who try to survive, fund Ariel's lyrium addiction, keep good relationships with the Chantry and the Circle so to keep their friends held there safe, and keep the rest of the crew afloat with the usual little jobs and personal quests. Amell will join them at time, keeping a very pro-Chantry approach though being very interested in things relating to Tevinter history. (her relationship with Fenris varying from tenuous to amusing). She leaves sometimes before the critical events of Act 3, because its being harder and harder for her to keep her freedom and liberties despite her status and clear allegiance to the Chantry, so she rather leaves to go furthernorth to continue her studies and researches closer to the core of all. Sebastian promises to become Prince to be better worthy of the Hero and Andraste's Chosen.
Blabla, Ariel allies with the Templar because she doesn't know what else to do, and by the end manages to smuggle tranquil!Hawke and Carver out of the city with her title of Viscountess, and then probably gets infected with red lyrium 👀.
And Amell!! Crosses the road of Coryphaeus!!!
I'm thinking of making her one of his minion in DAI, à la Samson/Calpernia, tho I don't really know if she should be leading the Templars or the Mages mhhh she has no strong ties to the Venatori/Tevinti, aside from their shared belief of Andraste being a mage, and she would be more likely to support the Templars, since she is very pious, but would they accept being led by a mage?
tho she could lead a third faction?? like, in my canon there's a way to recruit/contact at least a fraction of both sides, templar and mages, and she could represent, like, the anti-Inquisition Chantry? like if you managed to ally both factions, the only power Corypheus managed to bring to his side (aside from Grey Wardens ofc) would be the followers of the "True Herald of Andraste" Andrea Amell. idk, otherwise I think she could lead the templars instead of Samson, she has the reputation and respect for it I think. also her spirit was corrupted to a demon of Conquest.
And yeah! Carver and tranquil!Hawke are Varric's contacts and as they stumble into the fade the "Spirit" of Justinia heals Hawke 😌 so my best girl is back.
ANYWAY LOVING THIS WORLDSTATE A LOT MHNMN
(and in the multiverse, where my Conte would be the "canon" Amell, I think Andrea would be stationed at the Starkhaven Circle instead, but occasionally being let out à la Malcom, and would have met Sebastian before his "conversion" and possibly their passionate lovemaking would have gotten her pregnant. To keep the rumors to a minimum his family would have gotten her out of the Circle and hid her amongst their servants, to raise the babe in relative secrecy and safety. But then the family gets massacred!! and possibly Andrea survives her child, and is driven to a demon of despair because of it? I don't know what this could lead to, lots of possibilities!)
need help!! 👀
I have an oc I absolutely want to fit somewhere but I can't quite figure out where 😭 so help/advise/ideas needed!
she's an Amell, not necessarily *the* Amell (preferably *not* the Amell, but I can work around that), one of them magic children, and I wanted a full cursed Jean d'Arc aesthetic. She's a fire mage, but so devoted, raised in a Circle and almost dangerously loyal to Andraste, to her iconography, her symbolism, her martyrdom, etc. certainly traumatized by at least some extent by Circle life and clearly took refuge in faith to find some answers and escape. Probably even found out Tevinter believes Andrade was a mage and totally adopted that belief for herself too. But yeah, would love for her to believe she's she second coming of Andraste and stuff.
Initially I was thinking of making her an Inquisitor? would be hard to have her move around after the Circles fell *but*..... I find the idea of her romancing Sebastian way too hot.............. and her "pushing" him to his rivalmance and to become a prince to me makes more sense than what I have written down for his romance in my current worldstate, so I would love to make it fit. BUT I don't really see how I could make her be in Kirkwall while not being enclosed in the Circle? I already have *the* Amell from my canon worldstate in Kirkwall (he was moved after the events of "Broken Circle" because they didn't really have the resources to handle "difficult mages" anymore after the drama and so they moved him to Kirkwall at the same time as Cullen in my canon, and my Hawke ends up breaking him out of the circle with Anders' help), and, yeah, two Amells in Kirkwall + the whole Amell/Hawke family there really doesn't seem much like a coincidence anymore and more like a crowd. :/
but yeah I like the oc concept a lot 🥺 wondering what this silly little cult-adjacent lady could be up to.
(ALSO, so interesting if she sniffed those Andraste Ashes 🥺🥺 really she deserves it all)
#oc : andrea#oc : ariel#oc : claire#worldstate : four#also this means i'm joining my aeducan and brosca runs into one!!#since the amell run replaces the aeducan one#which makes the dwarven worldstate ultra dwarven hehehe#which i love honestly

@whereismywarden cause it was getting extra long for a simple reply :'D
My non-Mahariel Wardens technically only become wardens at the very end of the game, when Riordan reveals to Mahariel and Alistair what needs to be done to kill the Archdemon. Well, even after that, technically, when Morrigan comes to Mahariel with her offer. She romanced my Tabris, and Mahariel doesn't want to go behind his back, and that makes stakes rise suddenly. The situation quickly travels thru the whole group, and Tabris wants to go through the joining, because well, it's his relationship in game here, and, anyway, he's in Denerim and barely managed to go unscathed by the guards so far because Denerim is a bit in chaos atm, and Mahariel has been sort of shitting her way around pretending Tabris had already gone thru the joining (she would have before, but I suppose Riordan is the first Warden they meet who knows how to prepare the Joining ritual cup). So, yeah, if there's a chance it's not Alistair who has to get Morrigan pregnant Tabris is happy and stubborn enough to take it and face the damn Archdemon eye to eye for it. (Morrigan thinks he is ridiculous and they have a fight, half not wanting to lose each other and knowing they will have to give up things, one way or the other.)
Aeducan, after loosing everything, had longed wanted to feel like she belonged somewhere again, and contributing to her darkspawn-bane duty was her way to fullfil her purpose, so she asked to join too. And if she died, well, she had already been through death once when she had been exiled, it couldn't be worse.
Brosca had nowhere to go back to either, well, maybe she sort of did, but she liked this new chance, this new life, new freedom, this new place. Being able to go back and forth through surface and Orzammar? Proving that being casteless didn't stop her from having a damn cool future? Being Warden sounded like an adventure, and she trusted she had survived worse than a fat, crusty blighed bat-spawn.
Surana wants freedom from the Circle and the threat of Tranquillity, but of the group she is the one being the more appalled by what Mahariel confesses of her Joining and the Wardens' rules. The Blight, running in their veins, the ruthless way to keep the secret. The overall mystery makes her almost sick with it, the religiosity mixing with the idea of sacrifice; the magic, the blood, the Maker, the sheer wrongness. She joins, but it's almost a challenge. She's the one that will later go look for the cure. She cannot accept that someone decided this is how things were going to be and no one challeged it. She already had to go through it in the Circle, she wasn't going to allow her new family to suffer through this again. She wasn't running anymore.
Cousland.. unexpectedly was the one that got close to just.. run. He was the sun-kissed, noble and soft-hearted boy, raised on tales of knights and honor and love, idealist to almost a fault, adoring of the Wardens, who had seen his family die in front of his eyes, suffered from survival's guilt; who had learned how to be a bard, who had music on his fingertips and a smile able to enamour full crowds. Who had fallen for the sharp and beautiful Crow, who was brave and had succeeded almost single-handedly to keep the most ridiculous band of misfits together, simply because he was nice, and positive and believed in people. But suddenly he was so scared, at the idea of losing it all again. Of dying when he was almost truly happy again. It's a fight of will, and in the end the idea of seeing his friends possibly dying in front of him while he cowered takes hold of him and he has to accept the Joining before he goes insane with it.
My Aeducan and Brosca are possibly different in every way they could be, in both character and upbringing, but weirdly enough it's what makes it work.
For what is of the Orzammar situation in particular, well. Aeducan has only one word, her family will be avenged. She can't possibly look Bhelen in the face, she can't forgive him, even if she wanted. It's non-debatable. Aeducan and Brosca are similar in the way they are not really political per se; Aeducan believes in honor and transparency (she's a sort of House Stark archetype, a lot of bad decisions for the purpose of mostly good intentions), Brosca believes in people and freedom, so they generally succeeds in seeing each other for what they are, even tho Aeducan is the one with more preconceptions to dismantle. Luckily Brosca is good at dismantling stuff while keeping her good humour.
It's still not easy, but Brosca understands how Aeducan cannot trust Bhelen on the throne, but hard deals are made with Harrowmont. Simply put, little Endrin is the last Aeducan-blooded heir to the throne, and is to be raised like such, Rica and Harrowmont at his side. The Castless are just as able to fight darkspawn as anyone else, and Aeducan doesn't mince words in saying they need all the people they can spare if the dwarves are to survive this and the next Blights.
It's not ideal, Aeducan sees what is left of her family and sees the shambles for what they are, but, honestly, she can't deal with any of it anymore, even if she wanted. Harrowmont is the only person she trusts to leave it to, and she shares that belief with Brosca. Brosca.. well, she is happy her family is safe, she's allowed that pinch of selfishness. She's worried about other things, but, unlike Aeducan, she is still ready to fight, and she's seen how it can get better, wherever the dwarven ways help you or not (they didn't, in her case, but eh, doesn't mean they are necessarily wrong), she knows there's ways now.
Post-DAO Aeducan stays as Warden-Commander at Amaranthine, and Brosca handles sort of unofficial ambassadorial duties between the Legion of the Dead and the Wardens of Ferelden. She travels often underground, accompanying Wardens, scouting the lost Thaigs and trying to find useful stuff, of lost Wardens or dwarven story, and works with Orzammar to evaluate possible expansions or security measures. If she can represent the Casteless doing so, damn good, she's not easy to forget. She is also the one of my Wardens that believes the most into recruiting, and doesn't really hesitate to remind those she believes capable of Joining of a second chance, that there's a life for them on the Surface, somewhere else, if they wish so.
(Either they are both made Paragon or neither, Aeducan was clear on this. It's not about politics to castes, it's about two dwarven women that couldn't have done it without the other, and not turning a blind eye to it. So, yeah, I haven't decided yet what the Assembly will do, since there are more Wardens, and so the merits probably are more dilluted too. But still, I do believe they made dwarven history, in their own way, and it will be remembered one way or another.)

Multiverse : Introduction
Duncan finds Kamela Mahariel fighting for her life, first, and saves her. Then he discovers her begging for her death, for a casket next to her companion, for a place to rest next to her clan’s, and still, he saves her. Through the curses, and her eyes like grey moons, and the wolven growls of her denial, and the cutting edge of her words. And he takes it. He will haul her over his shoulder kicking, will endure the bites of her pack, but she will survive, she will heal and she will mourn. But she will thrive, and he promises so. Marethari looks in his eyes, and understands.
Kamela walks the way out of her forest, her home, with steady feet and a broken heart. She doesn’t turn back, knows she can’t, and as her wolves howl her loss in her stead, as she raises her eyes with more bravery than Duncan has seen in entire armies, he knows it was a bargain worth making.
Ilsramel Cousland escapes Howe’s attack, escapes the promises he made, the hopes he had and the boy he was. If he weren’t pulled through the secret tunnel by Sir Gilmore, heart hammering with shame, with fear, with a yearning so strong he thinks he’ll grow deaf from it, then he would still be hugging his nephew’s corpse, he would be begging his mother to hold him tighter as he cried. His lungs are filled with anguish, guilt and smoke, but the dry, burning air of his past in flames awaken his heart with fury. He knows what his duty is, the blood in his ears singing of vengeance, of retribution. He will reach his brother at Ostagar, will have to say the words and stand the claim justice for his family’s blood with Howe’s head.
Mephis Tabris awaits his sentence for Vaughan’s murder in a dark cell. Suddenly there’s commotion outside, sounds of fighting, shouting. Then his lock clicks open. When he moves the corridors are empty, littered with dead guards, and a note stabbed to a wall with a dagger whispers of a way down the sewers, signed RJ.
He slowly works his way South and meets Cousland and Gilmore on the road. Stabbing happen, quickly forgiven, and he is convinced to travel with them, to seek safety with the Wardens.
When they encounter Mahariel, Alistair and Morrigan outside out the Korkari Wilds it’s only to discover they were too late, but adversity tied them together, and thus they go forward.
Korinn Brosca is exiled to the tunnels, condemned for getting Orzammar rid of its Carta leader and for making the Proving Grounds’ Champion a Duster. She would almost find it ridiculous, but she’s too busy killing darkspawn with her fists aching, finally managing to loot a rusty sword from a corpse- too busy surviving. She survived so much already, she’ll survive this as well; no filth, no brawl, no fate worse than what she’s been through her whole life.
Portia Aeducan walks the tunnel with a relic of a past burned in betrayal, her only possession now. She plans to die with dignity, may her blood to the Stone cleanse the Aeducan shame. She doesn’t expect it when she raises her sword to a shadowy attack, meeting eyes that aren’t corrupted by the now-familiar milky, lifeless glaze of taint. Her hand stills just as the stranger's does, and the clash of the fight quiets, and flickers instead the flame of new hope. Together, they make it out of the tunnels, right where flows a river of corpses. Darkspawns, and humans dressed with griffon insignias, under the pale light of the sky-ceiling and the shadow of a fortress so high they can barely see the tip of it without their eyes aching.
They follow the roads carefully, but greedy with curiosity, with the inebriation of freedom, and lands on the borders of their first human city: Lothering.
They meet all that remains of the Wardens, and Aeducan has sworn war to the Darkspawn since she was still her father’s daughter and pleads her cause with no fear of condemning her life. Brosca had to renounce to a sister, but won’t do it twice, and joins the company with a smile and a thirst for more.
Malaad Surana was always defective. Conte Amell had kept her alive more than once, had kept the Templars away from her failures, had kept her company in the longest nights, hidden in a nook of the library, practicing twice as long to make sure she was ready to be tested the day after. He was there when the thought of Anders alone in his cells for weeks made her choke for breathing, made her hands and arms stiff with a sheen of uncontrolled ice. He was the warm hearth to her cold fears, but the night of Uldred attack he is not there, and she is drowning.
She loses herself somewhere in misty skies, between changing groves, in the depth of the oceans she only ever read about in books. She never had legs and fingers and arms in her dreams, only wings, and shells, and paws and fins. Never bothered by demons, never noticed, never chased. She is safe. But a voice whispers for her and slowly she is back, ice changing back to skin, water to blood, his warmth hers again. She falls into Conte’s arms, and when he rushes her to go, now, now that they aren’t paying attention to who survived the Tower and who didn’t, to go with the Wardens, the Saviors, and he will cover for her. He will find her, he promises.
She goes, for him, for their promise, for the Harrowing everyone expects her to fail. She finds the elf with the markings on her face and the griffon on her shoulder, the golden man with kind smiles and a lute on his back. She sees the red elf, with black eyes like coals, as sharp as the blades by his side, the two dwarven woman, as different as they can be; one as straight and hard as stone, the other quick like a cat and bright like the first ray of sunshine after the rain. They see her, dangerous like the first kiss of winter, wild in a way that seared the bars of her prisons on her skin like scars. She’s one of theirs before she even speaks.
clearly inspired by @laurelsofhighever ‘s incredible post here, I only hope it doesn’t look to plagiarizing, I just loved how it managed to find a way out for every origin (omg the Jennies saving Tabris, omg my heart). I JUST LOVED IT AND IT MOTIVATED MY TO COMPOSE THE MULTISTATE TO BEGIN WITH so omg thanks. ;3;
