Current thoughts:
The Mindstone canonically being a chunk of the Worldspire is so funny because it implies that either
A) the Worldspire was built and everyone was like “Okay let’s give the knights a chunk of this thing because you never know when you’ll need a chunk of the magic rock that connects everyone in the world lol”
Or
B) some knight in the past just took a chunk of the Worldspire and NOBODY questioned it
And either way that’s hilarious

Been awhile tumblr. Depression is a hell of a bitch and makes it very hard to find the motivation to write. Here’s the first brew for coming to posting!
This is the Vathrit! A small blue cat like race from beyond the stars! They are aliens in the world of Forgotten Realms and to my new setting of Worldspire! I hope you like them!

Day Ten, “Once upon a time”
Himalaya Smedry sat at her desk as she mended a book. Alcatraz sat on the floor, wrapped in a blanket, back against the desk. It had been a year since the Worldspire incident, and Leavenworth had sent his grandson to her and her husband to keep him from the reporter who had started to hound them again.
The door swung open and Folsom stepped in. He held two plastic plates in his hands and smiled at her. His gaze dipped to his cousin and his smile faded a little. He shook it off though and set his burdens on his desk, and she noticed that one of the plates was actually two stacked on top of each other. Folsom squatted next to the teen. “Hey, Al.”
Alcatraz nodded at him. “Hey, Folsom.” His voice was quiet as usual. When they’d spoken to Grandpa Smedry about Alcatraz visit he’d warned that if pushed Alcatraz would lash out in anger, but it hadn’t happened yet.
“I made pancakes. I’d rank them a solid 8 out of 10 if you want to try them. Not the best in the world but good.”
Himalaya smiled at the pair of them as they stood. Alcatraz took a single pancake and pulled the empty plate from underneath the loaded one and set his food on it. He also grabbed a small bundle of grapes.
Himalaya let out a near-silent breath. Alcatraz had moved past refusing to each fairly quickly, but he didn’t often actively seek food out. She glanced down at her book as the boys glanced at her.
“Is everything alright?” Alcatraz asked.
Himalaya nodded, not looking up. “This story starts because of pancakes, and I thought it was interesting that that’s what we’re having.”
That caused both boys to perk up. “Really? What’s it about? Beside pancakes.” Her husband asked.
“I could read it to you if you want. It’s a short story.”
“I’d like that if it’s okay with you?” He asked the youngest.
Alcatraz nodded, settling back down. Folsom joined him and Himalaya moved her chair, so it was closer to them.
“Once upon a time,” she started, “There was a man with three sons, the youngest of whom was called the Simpleton….”
When the older two brothers were injured, Alcatraz stood and Himalaya worried that the brief violence had been two much, but he reached to get another pancake and a piece of bacon. “This is clearly a fairy tale.” He muttered around a bite as he sat. “It probably ends very happily.” He made a face. He as looked down to rip off another piece of pancake they married couple shared a look. “Uhh, I didn’t mean to make you stop,” Alcatraz added, blushing.
Folsom opened his mouth put Himalaya started to read before he could say anything, shaking her head. They could talk about it later.
Folsom snorted when they reached the part about the girls being obliged to hold on to the golden goose after trying to take its feathers, while Alcatraz merely tilted his head in thought.
“By and by they came to a town where a king reigned, who had an only daughter who was so serious that no one could make her laugh; therefore the king had given out that whoever should make her laugh should have her in marriage.” Himalaya read a bit later.
“Well, that’s not too bad.” Alcatraz mused, “Usually in this kind of story the king as a stupid request. At least this one actually has to do with her.”
“Huh. I was thinking it was kind of silly. What are the requests usually?” Folsom asked.
Himalaya replied by reading the next bit, where the king demanded that his soon to be son in law bring him a man who could drink a whole cellar of wine.
“Wow. That is dumb. What’s it got to do with the girl?” Folsom admitted. The two hushlanders shrugged.
They continued until the end of the story where Himalaya stood and got her own plate of food and joined the boys one the ground. She leaned into her husband’s side and listen to the pair of them debate the story.
Alcatraz had let his blanket fall away and he sat straighter than he had in his whole visit. His eyes, while not as bright as they had been when they had first met in Nalhalla, had lightened. He wasn’t completely better; that would take a long time, but for the first time in a year, Himamlay thought that Alcatraz might be able to come back from his father’s death.

Really specific Milo Murphy/Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians crossover that probably wont be understood by anyone who sees this but hey
1. Balthazar Cavendish Smedry. Talent: near death experiences. Mostly stays home to be a Smedry diplomat, but occasionally goes on a reckless mission. An oculator.
2. Milo Murphy Smedry. Talent: Murphy's law (anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.) Gets paid money to stay out of various establishments. Went next to the worldspire once and caused the 2008 market crash. Spends time getting into various shenanigans.
3. Vinnie Dakota. Crystin Warrior assigned to Balthazar Cavendish Smedry due to the nature of his talent. Constantly rescues him out of danger. Never takes off warriors lenses.
4. Bonus Alcatraz

Conversation
Rithmatist WoB (paraphrased)
Questioner: You said that The Rithmatist is a little ways out, the sequel.
Brandon Sanderson: Yeah, I keep meaning to get to it sooner than I have. It's the one that's been the most difficult to figure out how to do the sequel.
Let me get Alcatraz 6 (The Worldspire) cleared off my plate. It has had significant progress on it lately.
Once that's done, I'll look at Rithmatist, which is the other unfinished thing dangling over my head.

Week 8!
Commanders:
2 Neheb, the Eternal 2 The Scarab God (Tribal) 2 Surrak Dragonclaw 1 Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper 1 Titania, Protector of Argoth
Color Wheel:
Tumblr media
36.84% Red 26.32% Green 21.05% Blue 15.79% Black
We started off the night with a practice game while waiting to see if other people showed up. The game turned into a nice light-hearted loss to the Scarab God before we began the league.
Tumblr media
Pod 1 Game 1:
Kevin -  The Scarab God (Tribal) Patrick - Neheb the Eternal Billy - Surrak Dragonclaw
The Scarab God was kind of having creature issues overall this game. Not really drawing many and not getting the mana he needed to play all the spells he was holding.
This gave a lot of the edge to Surrak who is just made of fat creatures. Neheb was punching face with a good bit of damage but quickly ran out of steam.
Since Kevin had run out of counterspells and Patrick had blasted  us with all the damage he had, I finally saw my chance to cast See the Unwritten. I was also holding Greenwarden of Murasa to get it back along with a regrowth to do it again.
Since I had Surrak out I was able to put two creatures into play the main threat being Blightsteel Colossus. Blightsteel smacked Patrick for 9 but not enough to poison him to death and after a timely Cyclonic rift from Kevin I had to replay everything.
Eventually Blightsteel returned (only after See the Unwritten was cast again and got a Worldspire Wurm and Moldgraf Monstrosity) and got revenge on the Rifter finishing Kevin off first and Patrick shortly after.
Pod 1 Game 2:
Kevin -  The Scarab God (Tribal) Patrick - Neheb the Eternal Billy - Surrak Dragonclaw Steven - Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper
So Surrak was a bad choice against Steven AND Scarab God this go around. Creatures were just being stolen from me and Neheb, boards wiped, and the The Scarab God would just reanimate everything we did. Needless to say, Neheb tired of the shenanigans and ANNIHILATED Kevin’s lands setting him back to the stone age for the rest of the game. I took pity on Kevin and didn’t put him out of his misery.
Neheb actually became super troublesome at this point, having an Annihilator 4 creature out AND Void Winnower out which pretty much wrecked my hand. Patrick put Kevin down to 2 life and then Steven basically went off with Sek’Kuar and killed us. Patrick went first to get rid of the Winnower and from there it was a pitiful battle I put up and lost against him ending up 3rd that game and giving the no land and no life Kevin second place. DAMN MERCY!
From now on... no mercy...
Tumblr media
Maybe...
Steven’s second game went well also. I was on Maga that game and Kevin on Scarab God while Steven was on Titania. Maga ramped super hard and every time I went to board wipe or TORMENT OF HAILFIRE for like 28.... it was countered. Titania had indestructible creatures and there was no way to board wipe her and although Captain Hindsight said I should have tutored for a Toxic Deluge, I was attempting to end the game with Torment of Hailfire.
Anyways, we both died to flying, indestructible, elementals... and that’s okay I guess.
POINTS:
Steven - With a fat 10.  Billy - 8 points because I showed mercy.... :( Kevin - 7 points (BECAUSE I SHOWED MERCY AAHHHHHHH) Patrick - 6 Points. It was neat seeing Neheb in another pilot’s hands and seeing Patrick outside of his blue/green comfort zone.
Overall Points:
Billy - 58 Points
Kevin - 57 Points
Juston - 53 Points (invoking missed weekend clause) Last one!
Dustin - 52 Points (invoking missed weekend clause) Last one!
Steven - 52 Points
Patrick - 48 Points
Mr. Mike - 40 Points
Jonathan - 39 Points
Rachel - 22 Points
Tim - 20 points
Aaron - 19 Points
James - 14 Points
Luke - 13 Points
Taylor - 12 Points (invoking missed weekend clause)
I don’t know if there was really any card of the night. I feel like that card that had the most impact when it resolved was See the Unwritten and any of the Eldrazi that Neheb cast when he had the mana.

Any theories for Worldspire?
Oh man, I'm not really sure. In vs the Knights of Crystallia Alcatraz mentioned living through the entire world losing gravity, so I'm expecting that. Dark talent also mentioned something big happening, but more specifically with the Worldspire.
But with Branderson books I've learned to be ready for anything and everything. I know that he'll take all of my expectations, flip them around a few times, and then throw them back in my face.
I'd love to hear any other ideas if anyone has them

A Brief Commentary on the State of Sanderson
“While I haven’t been active on this series for a few years, I still consider it a main project. Wax and Wayne 4 (the last volume of Era Two) will be my next project, after Skyward 3. Watch for the status bar for that one to pop up sometime in the spring.”
I’ll be watching Brandon…you better do it!
“Once that’s done, and Era Two is closed out, I’ll turn my eyes to Era Three. My goal right now is to write all three books in a row, like I did for the first trilogy, maybe with a novella in between from another world to keep me fresh. That’s likely to be my writing for 2023–2025. Once that’s done I’ll dive into Stormlight 6.”
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. So I’m guessing that it will go Skyward 3, Wax and Wayne, Skyward four, SA5, Era 3, SA 6. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh with other stuff in between.
BRANDON YOU ARE NOT CHANGING THE COVERS FOR ALCATRAZ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THEY WON’T MATCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Also I don’t believe it’s actually the last book. Like…I have a feeling that it’s not going ot end with worldspire just like Alcatraz and we’re gonna get parallels to arc 2 and I’m going to cry. So…BRANDON. I mean I guess it’ll be fine if all the Bastille books match and all the Alcatraz books but still.
