The @worldsfinestthecollection winter box has arrived with a variety of items that are useful and decorative. This season’s theme is Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. Another solid box from @worldsfinestthecollection. The 80th Anniversary Batman collection is chock full of Bat-phernalia that are both useful and collectible. My personal favorites are the Batman vinyl figure and the postcards. In anticipation of the Batman 80th Anniversary box from @worldsfinestthecollection, here’s a #TBT look at the retro Justice League of America box that came out this past summer. First of all, this is one of the best boxes so far and a true redemption from the Green Lantern box that came out before this. I wish the GL release went a little better and didn’t bring back bad memories of it’s theatrical cousin. Though hopefully that box gets a reboot down the line. As for this summer box, the items in this lineup were fantastic. From the Batman tote up to the detailed Aquaman figure, everything was pristine and collector worthy. When I decided to subscribe to the @worldsfinestthecollection, it was for the reason for this particular theme...Green Lantern. And it finally happened with the spring box, which by the way was delayed. The reason given for the delay was because a particular item wasn’t up to their standards. Now the items in this box are good and very useful though there are a few items that seemed to have escaped quality control. To quote Robin I only felt “whelmed” with this box. The box included the following items: The Pros - Green Lantern raglan shirt - snap back baseball cap - Green Lantern ring shaped bottle opener - Alex Ross Green Lantern pillow case - Ethan Van Sciver Green Lantern art print - Green Lantern light switch cover - Green Lantern power battery USB port hub The Cons - Hal Jordan Green Lantern figure has very messy paintwork on the face, body and the GL logo on the base is warped - The paint on the metal handle of the Green Lantern power battery hub is flaking off - The power battery hub doesn’t light up when plugged in, which I would agree with other reviewers in saying that was a missed opportunity - There was no Green Lantern power ring to actually wear All in all this box was only a fair collection that seemed rushed. The previous boxes were better in my opinion. Tried out @worldsfinestthecollection and I have to say I’m impressed with what was inside. This month’s theme is #JusticeLeague. 1) Wonder Woman lasso of truth charging cable 2) Batman belt buckle with hidden compartment for cards and cash 3) Superman art print frame 4) Green Lantern planter 5) Flash reversible track jacket (other side: Reverse Flash) 6) Cyborg vinyl figure 7) Justice League emblem pin set The only thing missing from this box is a devoted Aquaman item besides the pin.
