Oh fuck yeah, it's the offshoot (no pun intended) from the Moonies!
Hilariously, this schismatic group was originally known as "World Peace and Unification Sanctuary Church." They broke off after Sean Moon got into an argument with his mother, Hak Ja Han, and started calling her the Whore of Babylon. Then he and his oldest brother broke away and started this group--and, btw, the brother owns a small arms manufacturing company. (And, yes, I do mean the Moonies as in Sun Myung Moon and his mass weddings.)
The group exalts the AR-15 semiautomatic rifle in its ceremonies, believing it represents the "rod of iron" mentioned in the Book of Revelation that Jesus would use to assert his authority during end times. Originating in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania in 2017, it has attracted attention from some right-wing antigovernment groups and individuals who anticipate a coming civil war in the United States. Sean Moon hosts a webcast during which he discusses reports from sources such as Breitbart News and InfoWars. The Southern Poverty Law Center characterizes the organization as an "antigovernment Christian gun cult."
Sean Moon likes to wear a crown of bullets during their ceremonies.
Tumblr media
As do some of his followers:
Tumblr media
The regular type of crowns seem quite popular too:
Tumblr media
They were somewhere down near Waco, TX, but I think they're based in Tennessee now? I've also heard they still have some land in Pennsylvania but don't quote me on that.
tl;dr: Moonies Gun Cult

Excerpt:
The story of a Pennsylvania church blessing AR-15s made the rounds on traditional and social media last week. The ceremony at the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary ministry in rural Newfoundland, PA, was widely ridiculed as bizarre and out of touch, but once you take away some of the theatrics, how different are these worshippers really from millions of Americans and the NRA?
The answer, it turns out, is not that much.
WhoWhatWhy went to Newfoundland twice last week, attended the gun-blessing ceremony and saw some things that the rest of the media seems to have missed.
First, it is interesting that this event took place in Pennsylvania. Exactly 10 years ago, presidential candidate Barack Obama told a private gathering in the Keystone State that parts of its residents were “bitter.” He added that it is not surprising that rural Pennsylvanians “cling to their guns, or religion, or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Obama took a lot of heat when the comments leaked. In hindsight, however, he basically pinpointed the sentiment that made Donald Trump his successor — and that was on display at the Newfoundland church.
The response to Obama’s remark was so dramatic that he was forced to publicly defend himself during a CNN town hall and, predictably, the GOP used his words as a talking point for years, tossing it as red meat to a base that’s fueled by weapons-toting, faith-based voters.
Even four years later, vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan made mention of the remarks during campaign rallies.
Anybody witnessing the AR-15 blessing ceremony at the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary ministry in the wake of the tragic school shooting in Parkland, FL, would have a hard time walking away with a different conclusion from Obama’s.
While the group’s beliefs may seem extreme to most, they are not as uncommon as one might think.
Rev. Hyung Jin (Sean) Moon, the youngest son of Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon — known for his mass wedding ceremonies in New York City’s Times Square — took the stage accompanied by his wife Yeon Ah Lee Moon and carrying a gold-plated assault rifle, readying himself for another mass marriage ceremony.

A spiritual hoodwinking
Tumblr media
▲ Rev. Jerry Falwell with Sun Myung Moon in Uruguay
by Tony Norman, Pittsburg Post-Gazette  July 6, 2004
One of the reasons the civil rights movement has come to a screeching halt is the low quality and gullibility of far too many African-American leaders, politicians and preachers.
I’m not going to do a “Cosby” and blame urban preachers as a class for the loss of the black church’s moral authority in recent decades, but, damn, can’t one black minister step to the plate and denounce the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, of the Unification Church, as the wack job he clearly is?
There will never be a shortage of black preachers mopping their brows and calling down God’s wrath on gay marriage and other “abominations.” But I think I would tear my eyes out in shock at the first sign of a jeremiad by a black preacher about the pernicious influence of the Unification Church on congregations in urban America.
[A jeremiad is a long literary work, usually in prose, but sometimes in verse, in which the author bitterly laments the state of society and its morals in a serious tone of sustained invective, and always contains a prophecy of society's imminent downfall.]
My June 22 column that touched briefly on Moon’s infamous “Tear Down the Cross” tour was too subtle for its own good. What I should’ve reported, but didn’t, was that Unification Church representatives have been “dialoguing” with black religious leaders in 300 churches nationwide about the efficacy of removing crosses from urban sanctuary walls and replacing them with crowns. The Rev. Moon’s symbol of spiritual and temporal authority on Earth just happens to be a crown, but that’s just a coincidence, I’m sure.
Judging by the e-mail and phone calls that poured in from Moon sympathizers seeking “clarification” of my views, I’m now compelled to state bluntly what should have been obvious from an honest reading of the last column: Sun Myung Moon is a scoundrel, a fraud, a convicted tax cheat and a gun-running opportunist whose right-wing authoritarian agenda is an affront to democracy and the separation of church and state.
Moon’s claim that he is the messiah, “King of Peace” and “Father” is delusional. Why it hasn’t become a scandal for theologically conservative preachers who never miss an opportunity to denounce “heresies” from the left should be a source of shame for the Rev. Jerry Falwell on down.
If not for the willful stupidity and corruption of the elected officials who patronize Moon and the religious leaders who give him ecumenical cover in exchange for extra cash in the collection plate, the 84-year-old billionaire would be considered one of the most dangerous demagogues in America.
Instead of being excoriated for a series of scams stretching back 30 years, Moon was recently feted by congressmen and “crowned” in the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington as the world’s “True Parent.”
U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis, of Illinois, handed Moon a crown in an elaborate ceremony he claimed not to understand. From Moon’s perspective, receiving the crown in the Senate Office Building was a symbol of America’s spiritual subordination to his rule.
In the real world it was just one more capitulation to a wealthy eccentric’s dream of raw power.
When I asked Davis about it, he quickly trotted out his credentials as a Baptist as if that meant anything in a world in which preachers are routinely snookered by wannabe messiahs.
Continuing in their quest to fool all of the people all of the time, representatives of the Unification Church have stepped up their defense of Moon’s bona fides as a spiritual leader by drawing comparisons between the Korean messiah and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As expected, the years Moon spent in the pokey as a tax cheat are analogized as the moral equivalent of the time King spent in prison as a result of his fight against American apartheid.
I’m not surprised that Archbishop George A. Stallings Jr. of the independent African-American Catholic congregation has bought into Moon’s zany logic, but U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., and the Rev. Walter Fauntroy? Even Attorney General John Ashcroft sang at a Moon-sponsored event.
Thanks to the superb reporting of John Gorenfeld on www.salon.com and his indispensable Web page www.gorenfeld.net/blog, Moon’s shenanigans are routinely scrutinized. Maybe some of Gorenfeld’s discernment will rub off on preachers and politicians.

The Online edition of my 2008 book Bad Moon Rising: The Strange Untold Story of the Cult Leader, his Newspaper and the Right, with a new preface, is now available in convenient PDF form.
Perfect for reporters and other researchers. Or, if you are still trapped in a high-control church, easy to share with friends and family.
For the uninitiated, bestselling historian Rick Perlstein (Nixonland) calls the book “tragically neglected” and “one of the most useful books to understand the cynical wickedness of the party that produced Trumpism.” This thread is about my experience.
Here’s the new preface.

Guns For God: The Church of the AR-15
In February 2018, a small church in Pennsylvania gained international attention when they held a blessing ceremony with AR-15's just two weeks after the Parkland School shooting triggered mass gun reform debates across the US. But where did this small fringe sect of Christianity come from and why are they now taking up arms for God? In this episode of Believers, host Charlet Duboc meets Pastor Sean Moon and the believers of the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary, a church that has origins in Korea, is based in the US, and has been accused of being a cult to understand why they believe they need guns to build God's Kingdom on Earth.

In lieu of the A&E docuseries I was in about the AR-15-armed Sanctuary Church—being born into the church it splintered from—here is my interview on Talk Beliefs. I go into the Moon family I knew as a kid, life in that town, what society looked like from the inside, and recognizing the patterns across many groups like it, which loosened the church's grip on me.
Thanks Mark Torrender for the opportunity!

Quote
A final advantage of gender neutrality is that it fosters empowerment and the fuller utilization of human resources. Matriarchal and patriarchal models of leadership are self-limiting. They perpetuate stereotypes and caste-type privileging. All Unification groups need to give up gender-based entitlements. FFWPU must give up notions of “the age of women” as affording females privileged access to authority. Family Peace Association and Sanctuary Church must give up notions of leadership as a male entitlement. The UM will develop more fully under conditions of freedom and equality of opportunity. There should be no limitations placed on women or men in aspiring to and attaining leadership at the highest level. The organization among the current contenders that best embodies this in practice will be the most likely to succeed.

Crown-wearing worshippers clutching AR-15 rifles drank holy wine and exchanged or renewed wedding vows in a commitment ceremony at a Pennsylvania church on Wednesday, prompting a nearby school to cancel classes.
With state police and a smattering of protesters standing watch outside the church, brides clad in white and grooms in dark suits brought dozens of unloaded AR-15s into World Peace and Unification Sanctuary for a religious event that doubled as an advertisement for the Second Amendment.
The church, which has a worldwide following, believes the AR-15 symbolizes the “rod of iron” in the book of Revelation, and encouraged couples to bring the weapons. An AR-15 was used in the Florida high school massacre on Feb. 14.
The Rev. Sean Moon, who leads the church, prayed for “a kingdom of peace police and peace militia where the citizens, through the right given to them by almighty God to keep and bear arms, will be able to protect one another and protect human flourishing.”
Moon is the son of the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a self-proclaimed messiah who founded the Unification Church, which critics regard as a cult. The younger Moon’s congregation is a breakaway faction of the Unification Church, which had distanced itself from Wednesday’s event.
An attendant checked each weapon at the door to make sure it was unloaded and secured with a zip tie, and the elaborate commitment ceremony went off without a hitch. Some worshippers wore crowns made out of bullets.
Tim Elder, Unification Sanctuary’s director of world missions, said the ceremony was meant to be a blessing of couples, not “inanimate objects,” calling the AR-15 a “religious accoutrement.”
But Wednesday’s event, coming on the heels of the high school massacre in Parkland, Florida, which killed 17, rubbed emotions raw.
“It’s scaring people in the community,” one protester told a church member. “Are you aware of that?”
The ceremony prompted Wallenpaupack Area School District to move students at an elementary school down the street to other campuses.
Lisa Desiena, from Scranton, protested outside the church with a sign that called the group an “armed religious cult.”
She said she owns a gun, but “I don’t need a freaking assault weapon to defend myself. Only thing they’re good for is killing. Period. That’s all that weapon is good for, mass killing. And you want to bless it? Shame on you.”
But Sreymom Ouk, 41, who attended the ceremony with her husband, Sort Ouk, and came with their AR-15, said the weapon is useful for defending her family against “sickos and evil psychopaths.”
“People have the right to bear arms, and in God’s kingdom, you have to protect that,” she said. “You have to protect against evil.”

This story has been updated to remove an incorrect reference to a previous ceremony featuring assault-style rifles.

Moon’s congregation, Rod of Iron Ministries, also known as The World Peace and Unification Sanctuary, is a gun-centric spinoff of the much larger Unification Church, founded by his late father, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a self-proclaimed messiah and businessman whose followers were famously known as “Moonies.” The younger Moon, who also goes by “The Second King,” split from the main church amid a dramatic falling-out with his mother about who, between the two of them, was the rightful heir to his father’s empire.
In 2017, Moon founded his church in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, siphoning off hundreds of followers from the main congregation who were willing to make the seemingly radical leap of incorporating high-powered rifles into their spiritual life. He did this with the backing of his older brother, Kook-jin “Justin” Moon, the CEO of Kahr Arms, a gun manufacturing company headquartered nearby. In recent years, he’s made headlines for recreating the mass wedding ceremonies that his father’s church was famous for, with the addition of AR-15s.
Sean and Justin Moon, plus other senior church officials, were also at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, and posted videos of themselves emerging from clouds of tear gas. Sean has also courted fringe MAGA-world figures; this weekend, the annual Rod of Iron Freedom Fest at the Kahr Arms headquarters in Greeley will include speakers such as former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, ex–NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch, far-right Proud Boy ally Joey Gibson, and GOP congressional candidate Teddy Daniels.

Anything For A Buck? Trump Cultivates Ties With Another Extremist Religious Group From The '70's...
"Jim Stewartson, the founder of the anti-disinformation organization The Thinkin Project, wrote on Twitter that the event was "deeply harmful and deceptive."
"This is being pitched by a who's who of establishment extremists as some sort of peace mission to unify Korea," Stewartson wrote.
"In reality, it's dangerous propaganda whitewashing a dangerous cult."
HISTORY
"In 1991, Trump was reported to have been considering selling his Florida resort Mar-a-Lago to the Rev. Moon, but the church leader later denied being interested in the property.
Other high-profile GOP figures, including the former vice presidents Mike Pence and Dick Cheney, have also spoken at events organized by the group.
Hyung Jin "Sean" Moon, the son of the Moons, campaigned for Trump and attended the Capitol insurrection on January 6.
He also formed an offshoot church called World Peace and Unification Sanctuary Church in Pennsylvania, which has made MAGA politics a central tenet.
The group famously worships while carrying AR-15 rifles and has a 40-acre compound in Texas that it says is a safe haven for "patriots."
STRANGE OR NOT SO STRANGE BEDFELLOWS?
(MIRROR: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/inside-the-sinister-moonie-cult-how-1301689)
"The Unification Church founder was dismissed as the Loonie Moonie when he hit the headlines in the West in the 1970s.
The self-proclaimed messiah claimed Jesus had chosen him to complete his mission on Earth by arranging for complete strangers from different countries to marry and create “pure” families.
But the world was to learn that this message of peace was all a front for a sinister cult, accused of exploiting vulnerable youngsters, brainwashing followers and fleecing them of cash.
And while megalomaniac Moon was befriending North Korean leaders and US presidents, he was also building a billion-dollar business empire that included newspapers, TV stations and an arms factory."

Unity Message Unify, For My Sake, The Feast Of Easter
Tumblr media
October 14, 1991
Lord?
I am;
evangelise with love for Love; be rUnity MessageUnify, For My Sake, The Feast Of Easterooted in Me, My child; hand over everything to Me and allow Me to be your Spiritual Director, directing you and giving you My directives for the unification of My Churches; you are to be a sign for them and they will learn that since I Am is One, you too will be one as We are One; Scriptures will be fulfilled because My Sacerdotal Prayer to the Father will be accomplished; I am in you, so do not fear;
This is very promising, Lord!
your mission, little one, is to bring My people under one Name, My Name, and break bread together; there is no need to worry; do your best and I will do the rest; I need humility to accomplish My Works in you and thus bring everything on the surface;
– your faithless generation, that sheds so much Blood from Me, will rebuff you, but, My Vassula, I shall hold you on your feet in spite of the impressive wounds you will receive from this evil generation; help will be given to you from above; I have preached to you and to others, do not stop there, forward the Teachings I have given you both in public and in your homes; I know how frail you are, but I also know what I have chosen;
Lord, I feel content to know that we will be united, although no one yet really knows how. The problems are apparently great and the schisms greater still. As You say: “the staff of the Shepherd has been broken not only in half, but in splinters”. And Your Body has been mutilated, wrenched and paralysed. You ask us all to bend. How? What is to be done? Which is the first step? I am a Greek Orthodox and I am sharing with my Roman Catholic brothers everything, and I do not differentiate myself under Your Name when I am with them; nor do they treat me any differently from their own. I also know that many of them go to the Greek or Russian Orthodox churches…
speak up, child!
Give me the right words, Lord.
say: …and they are not allowed to share Your Body;
No. They are not allowed, although our Sacraments are the same. Yet we, Orthodox are allowed to share Your Body. I was even told I was excommunicated because I go to the Roman Catholics, not to say more. I am also persecuted from both sides because my confessor is a Roman Catholic! And You do witness all this, my Lord Jesus!
yet, the day will come when they will break bread together on one altar and no one will stop My children coming to Me; no one will ask them: “are you an orthodox?” 1 this fortress they have built to divide you is already condemned by Me; you are all brothers in Me, this is what you are to teach them to believe and persuade them to do;
– as for those who remain divided in body and spirit differentiating themselves under My Holy Name I tell them, as I have told the church in Sardis: 2 you are reputed to be alive in the eyes of the world, but not in your Maker’s Eyes; revive what little you have left: it is dying fast and wherever the corpse is, there will the vultures gather;
unite! assemble! invoke My Name together! consecrate My Body and My Blood together! do not persecute the Way! humble yourselves and bend to be able to unite and glorify Me; you speak of the Spirit but do not act in the Spirit; you speak of the Way but you rank first to obstruct It! – how little do you know Me ….
you call out My Name, yet you murder My children between the sanctuary and the altar; I tell you solemnly, all of this will be brought to you in the Day of Judgement; can you face Me and truly say: “I am reconciled with My brothers”; can you truly say: “I have not differentiated myself among brothers, under Your Holy Name; I have treated them as my equal”; when you present your case before Me I shall then say to your face: “away with you, you have not treated your brothers as your equal; you have massacred daily My Body; where is your triumph? while I was building, you were tearing down; while I was reassembling you were scattering; while I was uniting you were dividing!”
yet, even today, if you come to Me as you are, I can heal you, I can transfigure you and you will glorify Me; “alas for those with child, or with babies at the breast, when My Day comes!” write: 3 alas for those I find with sin coiled in them as with child and with adepts formed by them and of their own kind; but it has been said that from your own ranks there will be men coming forward with a travesty of the truth on their lips to induce the disciples to follow them; 4 I am shouting and I am trying to break through your deafness to save you; and if I reproach you it is because of the
Greatness of the Love I have for you;
but I tell you truly: I shall assemble one day all the separated parts of My Body together into One assembly;
– do not weep, My friend, 5 you who love Me; endure what I endure; however, console Me and have faith in Me; you will achieve great works in My Name; be tolerant as I am tolerant; I had been hungry, thirsty and often starving and you came to My help; carry on your good works and I shall reward you;
I tell you truly, you are not alone, I am with you; be united in Me and live in peace; you are the posterity of My Blood and the heir of My Kingdom; tell them that the Heart of the Lord is Love and that the Heart of the Law is based on Love; tell My people that I do not want administrators in My House, they will not be justified in My Day; because it is these very ones who have industrialised My House;
I have sent you My Spirit to live in your hearts, this is why the Spirit that lives in you will show you that My Church will be rebuilt inside your hearts and you will acknowledge each other as your brother in your heart;
6 – will I, brother, one more season go through the pain I have been going through year after year? or will you give Me rest this time? am I going to drink one more season the Cup of your division? or will you rest My Body and unify, for My sake, the Feast of Easter?
in unifying the date of Easter, you will alleviate My pain, brother, and you will rejoice in Me and I in you; and I will have the sight of many restored; “my Beloved! my Creator! He who is my husband has revealed to us things that no human hand could have performed!” this is what you will cry out, once your sight is restored, in My Name,
– and I will come to you –7
I solemnly tell you: summon, assemble all of you, and listen this time to your Shepherd:
I will lead you in the way that you must go;
send My Message to the ends of the earth;
courage, daughter, smile when I smile; I am with you to guide your steps to heaven;
1
Apparently the Greek and Russian Orthodox priests have the right to ask the person who wants to receive Holy Communion whether they ‘belong’ to them. They refuse the Roman Catholics from receiving Holy Communion although the Sacraments are the same.

My Jesus, in saying all this, had taken the voice of a victim. Weary, begging, as though He depended on us. Like a prisoner in a cell going to the door of his cell and asking the guard, from the little window, how much longer yet was his sentence, before the day of his liberation.

Trump, Guns and the Moonies
Tumblr media
Kook Jin ‘Justin’ Moon (in the baseball cap) owns Kahr Arms. Hyung Jin ‘Sean’ Moon, pastor of World Peace and Unification Sanctuary Church and ‘Rod of Iron Ministries’ is standing next to Eric Trump.
by Graham Lester     Wednesday Aug 31, 2016
On August 30, 2016, Eric Trump spoke at the opening of the Tommy Gun Warehouse in Greeley, Pennsylvania.
Eric Trump at Tommy Gun
Tommy Gun is controlled by a group called Sanctuary Church, which is a far right, conspiracy-minded breakaway sect of the Moonies. Sanctuary Church is run by Reverend Sun Myung Moon’s youngest son, Hyung Jin Moon. Hyung Jin was Moon’s designated successor but he was fired from his position by his mother shortly after his father’s death. Ever since he has been locked in a struggle with his mother, whom he views as the whore of Babylon prophesied in Revelation. He is in the foreground in the YouTube clip above.
Tommy Gun is part of Kahr Arms, which is owned by Hyung Jin’s elder brother Kook Jin ‘Justin’ Moon. Hyung Jin and Kook Jin work together at Sanctuary Church.
Kahr Arms itself was an offshoot of a company called Saeilo, which was founded by Reverend Sun Myung Moon. When Saeilo was founded the elder Moon told his followers that its purpose was to produce cutting-edge technology that would be given away freely to the developing world. In the UK, Moonies raised funds for Saeilo back in the 1980s by telling members of the public that the money was to help Africa. In fact, the assets were essentially diverted into a for-profit arms manufacturer that enriches members of the Moon family.
It’s not just that Eric Trump is seeking out the aid of the Moonies. Sanctuary Church is considered so far out that it has been excommunicated even by the mainstream Moonies! Too far out for the Moonies, but not too far out for Trump, apparently.

Bless thy holy AR15!
Lord Mattis our Patron Saint of Chaos be praised!
Newsweek reports
Hundreds of worshippers clutching AR-15 rifles and pistols packed into a church in Pennsylvania to have their weddings blessed and their weapons celebrated as life-saving “rods of iron.”
The women wore white bridal gowns and the men wore dark suits as they gripped their unloaded weapons. Many wore crowns—some made of bullets—while church officials dressed in flowing bright pink and white garments.
