The hate against Lyles from this Olympics has been wild😅. Listen I don't really rock with his finger nail paintin but that doesn't mean imma deny his skill. We gotta tackle the unneeded hate in his two different Olympic races.
100 meter Dash: Why is Lyles getting criticized for him winning a race even if it was close. The amount of delusional people watching the race and not knowing the Torso crossing the line is what defines the winner is insane 😭. You don't see ribbons at the ankle or foot for races do you😅. Let's go back to the Beijing World Championship race between Justin Gatlin & Usain Bolt. Now of course Bolt is the fastest ever in this race but he also won by a close margin here. And guess what he dipped his chest to solidify his win 👌🏿🤣. How crazy it is to justify folks biasness and delusional 💀
200 meter Dash: Lyles has has been undefeated in the 200m for the last 3yrs and folks confidently believe he just decided to lose . Or better yet because Tebogo & Kenny were too insanely fast. As explained in my other thread (search Lyles tag on page) Two things can be right and done. We can both congratulate Tebogo on the race and actually understand Lyles had caught Covid. You're telling me it's insane to believe Covid slowed down a guy who never lost a 200m race in 3yrs😭. Also let the record show in both the 100m & 200m Lyles has always placed better than Tebogo in a race. Lyles literally one the 100m Olympic race with Tebogo in it. So what changed from the 100m to 200m🤔. I don't wanna keep harping on it because ultimately a race is won by whoever is the best on that day. Letsile won and should celebrate his Gold 🥇. But let's just stop the Lies on Lyles like he's just slow compared to Tebogo.
To reiterate: Lyles has placed Better 7/7 times he raced Tebogo before the Olympics. After the Olympics the record is Lyles has won 8/10 races between them.
As I mentioned in the Link folks hate confident Black People in any forum. Sports is no exception . Read it and understand I won't ever go against my own 👌🏿

To say that I've seen mixed reviews about our decision to share the win would be an understatement. While part of me doesn't want to entertain the negative comments, I would like to help enlighten those that are calling us "cowards", "shameful", "pathetic" etc. I know you can't make everyone happy in this world, but in an effort to help people understand the sport that I love so much, I would like to explain my mentality in that moment. The pole vault is not an endurance event. We have a short window of jumps. Once the fatigue sets in, it not only becomes more difficult, but dangerous. The sport has seen everything from athletes just landing funny with minor tweaks, to horrific accidents. We had jumped an entire competition, vaulting for almost 4 hours in 85 degree heat. The competition ended, and we were exhausted. A World Championship is incredibly emotionally draining-even more so than a regular competition. My step (the point where I jump off the ground into the takeoff) to vault safely has to be in almost the exact same spot every time, give or take a few inches. My last few jumps, that takeoff step was moving further and further out, giving us real data showing my fatigue even with adrenaline.
To walk away healthy and with a gold medal, while celebrating with my friend that had jumped just as well, was a no-brainer. Part of the reason we've reached the highest level is by listening to our bodies, and knowing our limitations. We decided that in this particular moment, sharing glory was just as good as earning it outright. I understand that people want to see a clear winner. It is the exciting part of sport. But in this instance, it was without a doubt the right decision, and one that I will never regret.
Contrary to popular belief, you do not need a "win at all cost" mindset to have a champion's mentality.

Cross-country season has started! Fifa!talia is out, FIS!talia is in!
Most of the athletes on the GBR team are Scottish and they all live in Norway most of the year. Norwegians have such a love for them and some of them even speak Norwegian fluently. Two years ago, they lost funding from the UK government and it looked like they would have to quit skiing all-together. Then, rich Norwegians began sponsoring them and now they are training with a private Norwegian team and funded by Norwegians 💖
#hetalia#aph norway#aph scotland#hws norway#hw scotland#scotnor#🥺🥺🥺 I love them so much#FIS!talia#can't wait for the World Championship in Trondheim 2025!!!#I'm going to volunteer for it and am putting “nation host” as my first choice#I am such a fan of cross-country it's my everything#I love sports ok?#but especially cross-country#there's def some AU potential there as well#a swedish athlete got frostbite on his private parts racing in Finland this weekend#just thought you all should know#also I think it's amazing that norwegian people are so passionate about the GBR team#they even had a fund-raiser to raise money for them when they were cut off by their own country#and private Norwegian people just sponsoring them full-time??? What a support!!#They even got a documentary mini-series on NRK

hot take, heavily penalizing teenagers for causing each other head injuries, even unintentionally, is good, actually, and the nhl could stand to take a page from the iihf book on the way that standard is upheld (for all ages).
“how are you gonna prepare them for the nhl if the rules are different?!” this is not an nhl run event. this is not the george parros department of player safety or the gary bettman league. this is not the ‘nhl prospect practice and preparation tournament’, this is the world junior hockey championship. it is its own entity unto itself and for its own ends, it is not just a stepping stone for your favourite budding superstars to gain prestige and fanfare before they move on to the only “big league” that north american hockey fans consider significant or meaningful. it plays a larger role in the development of not only players, but also of entire hockey training programs in countries where hockey, even men’s hockey, is an under-funded or less established sport.
not all of these kids are going to go on to be nhl players. ALL of them should get the chance to grow up to be adults who don’t have their quality of life degraded by lingering head injuries and cte.
miss me with your tough guy bullshit. good grief.
#if you start being dumb on this post I will turn reblogs off#i coach a sport where we’ve also had to wrestle with increased awareness of head injuries#and how that changes our procedures and gear#I was an athlete in our no-helmet era and I am a coach in our helmet era now. With one toss, Camryn Rogers rewrote the Canadian record books.
The Richmond, B.C., native won hammer throw gold at the World Athletics Championships on Thursday in Budapest with her initial heave of 77.22 metres.
Rogers's victory completed Canada's first-ever hammer-throw double after fellow B.C. native Ethan Katzberg won the men's event.
Rogers, 24, is also the second Canadian woman to win a gold medal at worlds, and the first since Perdita Felicien in 2003. She improves on the silver she obtained at 2022 worlds in Eugene, Ore., when she became the first Canadian woman to win a medal in a field event.
