Ahhhh hahahaha I always have LOVED my dad’s MIT cheer! 📣🧮 It’s so cute! 😄 I’d like to think that my dad is directly responsible for my love of math, science, anatomy & physiology, and physical fitness! I used to row for the crew team both in high school and in college too! Dang, I miss it. Oh well. At least my love for fitness, adventure, and learning are forever unwavering. ❤️ I used to really beat myself up for not becoming a physician like my father, and for not choosing brilliant academic routes like he did. But you know what? I’m ok with it now. Because I really really like myself and how I’ve turned out. I don’t need to be EXACTLY like my father. I’m my own person! What I can do though, is take the traits I admire about him and try to implement them into my own life. I am an outdoor junkie workaholic workout-aholic adventure seeker with a relentless work ethic. Perry T (verse) stuff:
Sometime during the school year Stacey is reading some femmeslash Candace wrote and is like “whoah, I think I like girls now”. Now she and Candace are bbffs (bi best friends forever)
Vanessa hangs out with the other teens more since she’s closer to Candace than in canon (even before they start dating). So Stacey and Jeremy have both met Heinz/been to his house
Jeremy actually met Heinz earlier in the summer, when he taught him guitar, which is also when he met Vanessa. He also met Monty the same day, when he taught Monogram. He knew everyone involved in his marriage before they all met each other (since obvs he’s known Candace forever), something he likes to tease the others about
Heinz never recognizes the kids if he doesn’t see them with Vanessa. He’s faceblind as fuck
None of the pnf girls are straight in this verse (and Ginger is suffering from a really bad case of comp-het) and there’s a running gag that when they have their bi/gay-wakening they say a variant of “I (think I) like girls now”
In six months Perry went from being the Only Gay In The Neighborhood to being his neighborhood queer community’s gay elder (he couldn’t be happier)
“Aren’t you kids a little young to be questioning your sexualities?” “I don’t think so.”
Buford starts getting his shit together a little bit quicker in this verse. It still takes him awhile to be truly comfortable with himself, but he’s a little bit quicker to realize that he can be thought of as tough without needing to be seen as cruel- largely because Perry, despite his lazy persona, is the toughest person he knows, and Perry is a gay man who writes romance novels. Compromising those two ideas in his mind helps Buford out, even though Perry never really paid it any attention
(Perry can’t exactly hide how jacked he is, and he taught Candace some self defense stuff, so he plays himself off as a workoutaholic who learned basic martial arts for writing research but doesn’t use it practically. They don’t know the extent of his abilities by a longshot, but they know he has some.)

Request: Can I request a fic where the general neutral reader is working out and have self harm scars on their stomach and Clint sees them and the reader gets embarrassed but Clint shows them his own scars from fights and stuff and calms them down and reassures them that they're not a bad person bc of the fact that they did it?

Exercise, while once your worst enemy as a kid and early teen, was now your best friend. All you had to do was blast some music, stretch, run, lift and train and not even half an hour later you felt ten times better than when you started, both physically and mentally.
Your hobby was well known among some of your teammates. Sure, workouts were expected when working with SHIELD and basically being a soldier that worked alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes, but even then people usually did the minimal. Not you though. The only people who worked as hard as you were Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye, due to them having to keep at their very best through training to continue to be as effective as they are. It was because of this, that the four of you became sort of work out buddies.
Despite this, there was still something… odd about how you worked out to them, and they picked up on it quickly. Particularly rough day at work? Instead of going home and chilling out, you’d go straight to the gym. Mission didn’t go to plan? Run a few laps. Worried about the upcoming presentation or mission? Volunteer for training newer recruits in hand to hand combat. Soon your workout buddies were worried you were working out too much, but after Natasha monitored you for a week, she confirmed that while you were a workoutaholic, you were also a foodaholic and a sleepaholic because of you burning so much energy from exercise. She described it as “the healthiest addiction anyone could probably have.”
Clint had been with you on the recent mission, and while the main objective got completed, a member of your team did get injured. He was fine, but still Clint could see it eating you away on the way back to the base, so as soon as his shift ended, he got his work out gear and went to the provided gym.
He found you where he expected to find you. Doing press ups, warming up, though you were already sweating. He walked over, standing beside you. Usually this was enough to make you see him and to stop to talk to him, but you carried on, lost in your own mind. So, he put one leg over you, squatting till he was sat on you. “Hold it!” He told you. You, realising what he was doing, held him on your back for a few seconds until collapsing. He stood up, and you rolled over. “Okay, it’s clearly eating away at you.” He commented. You gave a sad smile, sighing.
“I was next to him, and I saw the guy aiming, but he’d already fired his shot by that point. I should have been more vigilant.” You accused yourself, your smile fading into a frown as you looked to the side. Clint frowned as well, before offering his hand to you. You looked at it, before taking it, and he heaved you up.
“Well, how about we see who can bench press the most?” He asked. You smiled, motioning over to the bench for him to go first. “Oh no, after you.”
“Old before young.” You retaliated. He sent a playful glare your way, before walking over and laying on the bench. He did the standard, going up and up till he couldn’t do it anymore. “300, pretty good for an old man.” You joked.
“Well, how about you?” He asked, getting up and taking your place, and you took his. You worked your way up the numbers, not failing in impressing the Avenger. As you prepared for each lift, you would shuffle in the seat to get comfy, and in the process, your shirt raised bit by bit, until eventually it caught Clint’s eye.
“Okay, you ready for me to crush your record..?... Clint?” You asked, looking up and seeing Clint staring at your lower torso, his mouth slightly open and his eyebrows knitted together. You looked down, wondering what was wrong, and you realised, and your heart stopped.
You panicked, sitting up and pulling your shirt down, jumping up from the bench. “Y/N, how did you get those scars?” He asked you. You gulped, wanting to look away but you couldn’t look away from his eyes. Your reaction, acting in total fear, before you used your arms to hug your stomach and looking away in shame made him realise. “Y/N…”
“I don’t do it anymore, okay? I haven’t done it in years- it got suggested in a leaflet about self-harm to find something else to do- drawing, music and all that, and exercise just… stuck. It works the best for me. It takes my mind of it, clears my head, releases oxytocin and I feel good physically as well afterwards.” You explained to him. You were beginning to panic a little, considering how he’d react to the news that his friend had a history of hurting themselves. “N-No one knows- please don’t tell anyone, please. I’m not doing it anymore-“
“I know, they’re old. I know old scars when I see them.” He assured. That caught you of guard, and you immediately thought the worse for him. Did he do it to? Did he know someone else? Someone on the team? He motioned you over, and you hesitantly walked closer, and he lifted up his own shirt. You immediately felt your heart jump into his throat, seeing the scars, all different in his own way. “While mine aren’t self-inflicted, I do have them as well. This one I got from one of my first missions, before I was even known as Hawkeye. This one is when I was in the circus and I pissed off the girl who threw knives- and this one-“
“Why are you telling me this?” You interrupted. “Your stories are interesting, mine are all the same. I blamed myself for something, and took the pain out on myself. They aren’t good memories.”
“Yeah, but they’re old memories.”  He answered quickly. “Old, and you’re not that old person anymore. Look at you! You’re an agent for SHIELD, helping to save lives and keep Earth safe and working with the World’s Mightiest Heroes. You shouldn’t be ashamed of your past, because you’re not that person anymore.” He insisted. There was a period of silence, until he spoke again. “You should be proud of your scars, because you’re better now.”
You thought about his words, long and hard, finding no reason to not believe him. “You’re right.” You admitted, smiling lightly finally. “Might be because you’re a wise old man.” You commented smugly. Clint gave you that glare again.
“Let’s see if all that running’s made you faster.” He commented, giving you a millisecond to take off, him not far behind.
