wasn't supossed to be a post but i really like those! therefore huzzah! lambs based on fleeces be upon ye

i was gonna ramble about their desings but i ended up wrtiting short descriptions instead. read below if you dare!

it is said that lord of fates' words are fate itself, unable to be changed.

they always have hounds of fate floating around them, even though they are skilled with a dagger. you never truly know what the future has in store for you,,,

their wool seems to always have red stains. their followers theorized that twas' their own blood.

but ichor isn't red.

(they were supossed to be more based on the jacob sheep but i only ended up using their horns for inspiration :P)

leader of blue hearts is a lover! not a fighter. at least with their followers. they seem to favour the rite of lust.

ever since the bishops' death, they mostly spend their time throwing rituals at every available moment,,,what a kind leader!

but whenever they think they're alone,,, they seem to mutter strange words to themselves,,, purgatory , god tears , some strange sellers?

i guess i'll have to ask them later about it, i'm about to go on a mission!

(blue used to be the color associated with lust! it works. also they're based on the lincoln sheep. they;re cute.)

diseased beast is a simple creature. openly displaying their intentions with their looks alone.

they're known as the local hunter. dropping acid on their enemies when they're not looking,,,

some consider it a cheap and an off-putting method. but they're not around long enough to spread their word.

sometimes the sound of silence is payment enough,,,

seems like golden greed's fleece merged with their body. i don't think that's supossed to happen,,,

they tend to have their gauntlets on most of the time. always ready to strike anyone down!

afterall, everyone is just waiting to get the drop on them,,,right?

even that damned seller! anyone,,,

(the gauntlets were supossed to be the godly kind, but there was too much yellow. so much yellow.)

ah? it seems like a critter of curses is near.

what do I do with my summer tomatoes?

okay as promised here is my tomato recipe post. i know tomato season is almost over but hopefully everyone can still make use of it. these are all from my large collection of cook's illustrated back issues. i have made all of these though! i really tried to make the text as readable as possible but i'm sorry if it isn't 😭 also i know this is not accessible for people who use screen readers and i'm sorry about that too! i just don't have time to type up all these recipes 😭😭

first of all, this is just a slightly upgraded version of the classic southern tomato sandwich, which is the best way to experience your big, hearty heirloom tomatoes or slicing tomatoes:

if you have a bunch of cherry tomatoes, you can make these toasts that are super easy but extremely flavorful:

okay now for some dinner recipes. this following recipe for tomato tarte tatin is actually one of my all-time favorite dishes, i really look forward to making it every summer. one time i shared this recipe with a friend and they later told me it had become a household favorite that their family ended up making a bunch of times. i've also made it more than once for guests i want to impress. THIS IS A VERY GOOD RECIPE. you don't have to use plum tomatoes specifically—any medium-small variety that is firm and not too juicy will work. i actually always use juliet tomatoes.

next up is tomato cobbler! this is also very good, just imo slightly less good than the tarte tatin. the tarte tatin is like a 10/10, and this is a 9.5. it's great with fresh basil too!

if you're not in the mood to make a cobbler or tart and want something way simpler, you can whip up some pappa al pomodoro, which is extremely easy and very tasty:

finally, if you have pounds and pounds of tomatoes to use up, you can make this sauce and freeze it to get that fresh tomato flavor all year round.

this recipe uses a clever technique where you deseed the tomatoes, strain the seeds from the gel, reserve the gel, and add it back in after cooking so the sauce maintains its fresh raw summer tomato flavor. i have actually used this technique in other recipes as well. like the next time you make a tomato soup, even if you use canned tomatoes, you can throw in one fresh tomato, deseed it and add the gel at the end. it really does give a nice fresh flavor. actually, i've never done this, but it would be a good idea to freeze the tomato gel in ice cube trays so you can add it to your soups and sauces all year. just make sure you add it at the end of cooking, since the idea is for it to taste raw.

About their past relationship: To make it short, I hadn't thought them being close friends in the convencional way in that time. To me they always had this frenemy relationship, like "i can't stand this person (literally is his/her friend)" with their ups and downs (Bill is always more relaxed with that). In the begging it was "this person is just annoying" but later was "oh, i like to be sometimes with this person but i'm not saying that"

Yep, Worm and OK’s relationship is meant to be toxic, there’s a huge power imbalance between them, ok is aware of dynamic and plays into it.

I’m not trying to romanticize toxic relationship in any means, there’s going to be plot point later on worm breaking out of this relationship and ok getting the punishment she deserves. Right now I’m still establishing their dynamic, I need to introduce the good bits first before I hit people with a mallet

I think the Song bird and rat comic portraits how ok sees worm very well, Worm is like her favorite dog, does Ok love her dog? Yes, very much. Does she sees a dog as her equal? No, because it’s a dog. Does worm love Ok? Yes, cause it’s all she ever known, it’s her whole world.

This is my RWBY Hot Take:

BB ended up being canon because of fandom and VAs pushing for it. Which, is not necessarilly a bad thing, but it is when you can ACTUALLY tell. And I think that´s the problem.

Now, RWBY has always been on the sights of Yuri and Queer fandom, which are a both a force to be reckoned with whenever people want to admit it or not. This shouldn´t be surprising considering that they showcased not one, not two, not three, but FOUR main characters with very unique desing, appeal and personality. OF COURSE the show was gonna attract lesbian women like honey attracts flies XD

At the same time however, RWBY kinda wanted to fall into very classic old tropes of anime, hence why even 10 years later Ruby has still to show attraction to somebody, like a proper shounen jump character, with some twists every now and then. Which is why you can´t convince me that Sun wasn´t put there to be Blake´s love interest, but the fandom had already taken into the main characters hooking p between them and just wouldn´t move from there.

Proof of that is that even after 10 years of absolute 0 development, White Rose is still one of the biggest ships out there, receiving new art almost daily by, you guessed, lot of tumblr queer (which seems to be in abundance, maybe there´s a correlation? Beats me). Now, this isn´t me throwing shade over WR, they DID have some very good base and chemistry, but people rationalizing that Weiss MUST be bi or even yet, a Compulsory Het (despite absolute 0 evidence that´s even a thing in Remant) just doesn´t paint a very positive figure of the fandom.

What I´m trying to say with this? Well, if a fandom can be THAT obssesed with queer characters (Ask CanonSeeker about it if you don´t believe me) and attract an audience who clearly has an obsession with them either because they just want to see girls kissing (lot of pervs around, the NSFW reddit sub has MORE subs than the main one :/ ) or because they want to see their representation/projection/whatever and see absolute no issue with the crumbs and the bad things RT did some of its queer workers (like Kdin)... who is there not to say that this couple, (or any other even!) is not fanservice?

People want to see what they want to see, and will resort to all kind of emotional pitfalls to rationalize their preference or how "it was always meant to be".

No, having a base as friends is not enough. Yes Nora, people can be friends, and sometimes it´s better if they remain that way, as you have discovered. You can´t have a character show attraction that is slowly being reciporcated for seven years only to drop itone day and say "nah, it was never about it" and pretend the fandom who is not just looking for validation and seeing hot girls make out bdon´t end up scratching their heads in confusion. That´s just now how it works. SPECIALLY when lot of people were dropping after the disaster that was Vol.5

Which is another reason that it feels like the writers just caved:

They realised they were not going anywhere with BlackSun and with the WF, so they just removed it out of the equation and pretend it never existed. They needed to keep their fans interested, and while at it, some Rainbow Capitalism to get some more attention. People called it forced because morons are "ugh, lesbians!" (Not forgetting that some people on both sides of the equation just can´t get that Bi people exist) while the reason can be simply that RT can´t write romance for shit, and the relationship feels more like they just wanted to speedrun to make up for 6 seasons where they still had plausible deniability (forgetting that they just put that line on the sky dropping Sun...) while at the same time not outright confirming until the last minute.

So, the whole point of this rant is: BB is fanservice? Yes.

But it´s the BAD fanservice. The kind of you can TELL they are caving to the fandom for attention, and doing so in a kind of unnatural way, that they try too hard to give crumsb ("Yeah... Ruby.") and have to confess in a magical plot device that feels like taken out of a fanfic, so instead of "this is the natural progression our characters took" feels more like "Yaaaaaaas, we gave the fanatics what they wanted, aren´t we great!? Another "cultural" victory, yay, so now give us the money so we can greenlight Vol 10!"

So, TL:DR - If you are going to give fanservice, try at least to make it FEEL natural, or don´t give it at all. If you ar unsure, get a good producer, a guy whose sole job is to say NO.

This time I think I’m just going to primarily be the bridge that allows people see and respond to this with their own opinions cause if I’m being honest, it feels like you got into the weeds a little and I couldn’t follow. Please be civil in comments.

As for my personal opinions about BB in general i will reiterate what I’ve thought for the past few years now. The ship itself is fine but any cultural impact it would’ve had was lost when you wait so long that Disney beat you to showing a lgbt kiss scene. I think RT did course correction when seeing its popularity which isn’t in itself bad at all, but they just sucked at it.

The two roads people have to walk is thinking BB was planned from the start or added later due to popularity. If you think the first one, then face the fact RT handled it very poorly and unnecessarily made things messy by adding Sun. If you believe the second then don’t be delusional if someone has the opinion it made certain narrative choices messier or that once again, Sun was written as a potential love interest.

I like BB but RT made some questionable choices that wouldn’t say hurt Blake and Yang’s character, but hindered scenes because they dragged it out too long. Also hate to say it but 95% of their relationship healing, comfor, angst, etc. was built off of Adam. So when ya kill Adam… the thing that made the dynamic interesting is gone. That’s not a problem if he died at the end of the show, like most characters do with the trope.

But I will say I do respect the fact they didn’t immediately date after murdering him because that just doesn’t look good on any level. However, Atlas had a time skip. As much as I love Ren and Nora, maybe we should’ve gone to the dance club and do the kiss there before Atlas went to hell? Then we could have a nuanced discussion about if the two of them telling Robyn without consulting anyone was okay.

I found this section on the Lord's Prayer in Hyatt's 5 Volume of Hoodoo and Conjure to be wonderful to be added for daily prayers in work and businesses. Just to repeat the Lord's Prayer three time before going to work! quite a potent method.

Tomorrow came in a blink of an eye, but Malleus never got the chance to fulfill his promise to hang out with you.

It was chaos everywhere. Someone had decided to blow a hole on Ramshackle's roof top, making it look more like a broken and abandoned house.

"Vil!Jamil!" You screamed out to your friends who were passed out cold. The robots seems to be unaffected by their state before carrying them and flying off through the broken roof. You wished to pursue those intruders, but your lack of magic and ability to fly says otherwise. "Are you all okay?!" Rook shouted, fussing over the duo who were unconscious while keeping a look out for the rest.

"Quick, let's bring them to the infirmary!" Epel's frantic voice managed to snap you out of your trance as you hurriedly rushed to help your fallen friends. You were too shocked to process what was going on, mindlessly compelling to Rook's instructions (seeing as to how he decided to take charge of the situation)

"So, Idia and his family are responsible for all this? But why would they do that?"

The question looms in the heavy and tense atmosphere. None of them knew why their friends were captured, except for the fact that they might get experimented on.

Malleus's eyes slides towards your figure, noticing how awfully quiet you are. Ever since all dorm and vice dorm leaders were summoned for an emergency meeting, you had not once spoken a word, choosing to only fiddle with your fingers, an invisible sweat dripping down your forehead as the memories of previous events replay in your head.

You were scared and nervous.

A foreign feeling creeps up to Malleus's heart, caging it with an unbearable heat that threatens to destroy it at any moment. He denies the feeling, choosing to focus on meeting you later on. Perhaps, that will be the best timing to ask about your state.

"Are you sure about this, prefect? I mean you don't have to go with me, ya know-"

"Yes im sure!" You cut off the boy, determined to show your decision to go after Rook to save your other friends. You were scared, but at the same time, you don't wish to just lie around in ramshackle and do nothing but worry about your missing friends. Besides, you don't really have anywhere to stay after the disaster that was bestowed upon your only "house".

"This is not the first time I have thrown myself in such a dangerous situation." You reassured Epel, who was looking at you with worried eyes. "Besides, what kind of friend would I be if I leave my own friends alone?"

"You are right, Y/N. Let's not waste any time now!" Epel hurriedly beckoned you to ride on the broom with him since he was the only one capable of using magic to the fly the both of you. You bite your lip in anxiousness, holding onto the broom for dear life as Epel chants a long string of words, before the broom lifts the both of you up into the sky, flying to the direction where Rook went.

In the back of your mind, you momentarily thought if Malleus had read the text message that you had sent earlier, to inform him that the outing tonight would be cancelled since you are heading towards the Land of Grief to save your friends.

Unfortunately for you, Malleus had never received your text message. Why? It's obvious, he broke his phone again. He only learnt about the intention behind your disappearance when Crewel had summoned another meeting with the student leaders to update about the situation.

And now, he’s left standing in the aloof house alone, letting reality sink into him that you were gone somewhere without him. Ramshackle looks more abandoned and deserted now.

Malleus should be happy that Ramshackle had went back to the way it was before, but why does he feel so miserable? Why does it feel like the thorns of briar valley are scratching all over his body, especially his heart? It felt so uncomfortable to the point where he just wished that this feeling could be erased with magic.

"Malleus, here you are." His guardian appears beside him, floating up to see the boy who has an extremely unhappy appearance on his face. "Sebek was making a fuss about your disappearance, so I came to check up on you. How are you feeling?" Lilia asked, watching Malleus heaved up a sigh before confessing about his feelings.

"Why am I feeling this way? I thought that I would be happy when Ramshackle is back to the way it was. But now, it feels like the thorns are wrapped tightly around my heart, mocking me for my uselessness. I felt uneasy about Y/N's disappearance, and I can't stop thinking and worrying about her. It feels wrong for this place to be empty. It feels wrong without her presence."

Lilia stares at his ward with wide eyes, unable to believe that Malleus had just willingly talked about his feelings. He had watch him grow from young till now, know him like the back of his hand. But still, Malleus's confession managed to surprised the old fae.

"How do you feel about Y/N?"

"Im worried for her."

"Sorry, let me rephrase my question," Lilia cleared his throat, before staring at the young seriously. "What do you see Y/N as?"

There was an awkward pause, before Malleus manage to choke out a response. "She's a friend." Those words felt so wrong on his tongue, and yet it's somehow the only response he can manage to come up with.

Lilia raised his eyebrow, giving Malleus a 'are-you-serious' look, but decided not to pressure him further. "Mhm sure. Let's go back now shall we? I'll cook dinner for you." The mere mention of Lilia cooking had completely thrown off any worries that Malleus had. Instead, they were replaced with fear of Lilia's creative dishes.

"Ah...it's fine. I already ate."

"It's that so? Well, too bad then! Maybe another time."

The both of them went back to the dorm in silence, but the answer that Malleus had gave to Lilia still lurks in their mind. They both knew that you were definitely more than a friend.

Vil's continuous high pitched crying has been tormenting your ears for awhile now. While you pity him for turning into an old man, you could not help but feel an incoming headache whenever his cries reach your ears. Maybe Malleus can solve this problem and reverse Vil back to his usual 18 year old self?

You had never felt so much relief when your feet finally landed on school grounds, quickly shuffling to position yourself slightly further away from Vil to give your ears a break. You looked around, seeing that some of your friends had gathered and was waiting for you and the others to come back.

"Prefect! Im glad that you are okay. Have you seen Jamil?"

"Right here, Kalim."

You laughed when Kalim tackled Jamil into a hug. Both of them landing on the ground with a soft thud as Kalim starts rambling off about all the things that have been happening. You start looking around the field, hoping to see that one person that you have been thinking about even when you are at the Land of Grief.

"You are back, Y/N." Speaking of the devil, malleus had teleported infront of you. His tall form towering over you, looking at you up and down to check for any injuries. "It seems like you are well."

"Yup! I had help from the other dorm and vice dorm leaders. They are in a worser state than me though.

"Mhmmm," Malleus hums, finally feeling the heavy feeling in his heart lifting up. Now that you are fine, he's delighted that the uneasiness he had been feeling for the past day is gone. He wanted to ask himself why, but decided to brush it off as it was nothing.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were going to the land of grief?"

"H-huh? I did text you on my phone though!" You dig into your pocket, fishing out an old phone before flashing your screen to Malleus, showing him the text that you had sent him.

"Oh, it seems like I did not received it cause I broke my phone again."

"Again? wow, you must be really strong." You snickered, enjoying the pouting expression that Malleus had. "By the way, your dorm is no longer able to function as it is." Malleus stated, making it your turn to pout now as you ponder about where you should stay now.

"Do you want to come live in Diasomnia? We have a spare room to offer."

"Really?! I can stay in Diasomnia?" Your eyes sparkled in excitement. hands clasping together as you looked at him eagerly. "Yes."

"Yay! Thank you tsunotarou! Let me go pack my things now, if I have any left." You smiled sheepishly, before darting off to your old dorm to look for any undamaged items.

The corner of Malleus's lips lifts up into a smile as he watch your figure becoming smaller and smaller. Something about your smile and your child like behaviour makes him feel weird... again. This time, his heart tickles.

I redesing Chloe

I have always wanted to do Chloe, but I knew that she need it a lot of work for my part. Like, from all the years of watching the show I found myself really like "liking" Chloe. We all love a mean girl.

I going to do give some thoughts about her desing an d why I landed on this one and comment a little bit of her writting as character.

small note: When I do this redesings I always thought about them like 16-17 ish years old, it just when I think of what I would have done with the story is them being just a lil bit older.

It girls( from the 80´s,60´s and the early 2000´s),very femenine, a lil bit of preppy and french girl. it was really dificult to balance all of this because I wanted to gave it a really iconic look but at the same time very effortless becuase of "nepo baby". Also I used "french girl" becuase I thought "she's the daughter of the most famous fashion editor of French, she would be an it girl just for the nepotism" So she should have a really unique style that breaths nepotism .

Also some time it can be similar to Mari's because of something that I'm gonna' explain later.

I'd made a pinterest board as usual for this. + (the link).

also I made some really bad explorations on options,like really fast to cutr down options.

For some reason gogo boots were like the shoe to go, like confier than a heel but it has a hell, also i despise flats shoes. Also I wanted to make her have like a supermodel fisique, becuase when I saw her mom I thought "it's like a fusion of Anna Wintour and Yolanda Hadid" so like yeah.

I also had to some skechtes of her face, not because I did not like her face,just becuase it did not translate as well to my style.

As you can see I even found a face for Zoe(unintencional) that looks like angelina Jolie for some reason. At the end my references are the ones on the bottom.

now for the writting

If it's not clear I do really belive that Chloe was like mistreated, because one thing is that you wanted to make her an antagonist and the other thing is what they did to her. Like keep her as a bad guy but do it with respect to the character and the work that has been done the character.

some notes about her .

-A thing that I do not remember being used in the show, the similarities between Mari and Chloe. Like literally sometime they have the same delusion and do stuff like without thinking of the concequences. Like it's simple Chloe can be a reminder of what happens if you loose the tracks and idk becomes to self absorb. And Mari is for Chloe like what she saws a "weak".

-Also a very important thing, I'd belive that Chloe should have a really meaningfull reason to bully Mari. Like it does not excuse her behavior but give it more flavor. Remeber Style Queen and Audrey acknowledeges Marinette for her talent. This is the moment. So Mari should represent all the things that Chloe was teach by her Mom to be "weak", "unusefull" ,so when she sees her mom be nicer to someone "meah" than her own daughter, she gets mad.

So I do have more notes, but I would enter to the territory of fanfiction (iamalredythere?), also If there' s any mistake in the writting, (which I know that there's) please be patience, english is not my first language and I'm def not used to write this long, at least not anymore.

spoilers for… everything, all throughout, specifically The Peacekeeper Wars. Also a warning for a bit of mild sanism toward the end, used only for dramatic effect.

I’ll start this off with a general farscape world building theory, and that’s that most, if not all, of the less imaginatively designed species in farscape are simply like that because they’re part Sebacean. Descendants of Sebacean cross-breeding programs from when the Eidolons were trying to make adjustments to their physiology. the Baniks and Kalish, as well as many others, are the living results of this.

Over the thousands of cycles that have passed since these races came around, they’ve evolved, and devolved in completely unexpected ways, (more on that later) and their numbers have grown far greater than the Peacekeepers wanted. This is why, in the present, the PK’s oppose contamination so strongly. And why the Baniks and Kalish are conquered species’s, and kept in servitude. they’re a “mistake”.

I unfortunately don’t have any solid ideas about Kalish, (they have a pinkness about them, and look vaguely reptilian? i was thinking maybe the Pathfinders, but. ehhh.)

The Baniks however. Are none other than descendants of the Sebaceans and Eidolons themselves.

To explain this, i’m gonna need to talk about our beloved leather-clad half Sebacean half Scarran Scorpy.

Scarrans interrogate people by radiating immense heat that, somehow, makes people tell the truth. (this is farscape, don’t ask don’t tell) The Prodigal Grasshopper doesn’t have this ability, but he has something just as good. An unexpected result of his breeding gives him a built in lie detector. The Scarran’s ability is external, Scorpius’s ability is internal.

Eidolons bring peace externally because they emit a glow that evokes a feeling of calm and neutrality. Baniks inherited an internal version of this ability. “outsiders think that we do not feel, but it’s only that our feelings don’t always show.”

i think this makes sense with how Yondolaow addressed Stark with… familiarity, almost? he understood that him being a Stykera meant that he understood the psyche of those he passes over. This could also effect how Stark Wigged The Fuck Out when absorbing Yondolaow’s knowledge. And also why it worked, instead him just spontaneously combusting or something.

Now, about the Stykera. Stark’s character profile claims that a Stykera is simply a particularly special sub-species if Banik. I think that’s bullshit, in the sense that it’s a common, galaxy-wide misconception, and that there are even some Baniks who don’t know the truth. Also, i just kinda find that explanation boring. So, my theory is this:

this next part is in direct contradiction to Stark referring to his own body as a “molecular creation” but i’ll be honest. i just don’t give a shit.

The Stykera are different race to Baniks entirely. A formless, non-corporeal race who can only live in this realm by finding a body to house their soul. The Baniks, for whatever reason, perhaps their mental abilities and stoic fortitude, perhaps their peaceful ways due to their connection to Eidolons, are the only species able to house them.

The transference of souls - or possession, whatever word you prefer - happens at birth. The Stykera’s soul and the Banik child’s just. swap places. with the Banik starting the process of becoming a Stykera. Energy, able to view our realm but not experience it until however many cycles it takes for the Stykera inhabiting their body to die. They’re then transferred, randomly, into a Banik being born. and the cycle continues.

now we go into general headcanon territory.

This viewing of the world is vital, because so is their duty to the dying. and the only preparation Stykera get for the real world. and, hey, it’s more than humans get. Unfortunately, if Stykera are anything inherently, it’s emotional. empathetic. easily overwhelmed. They have an utter inability to develop a thick skin, to become desensitised, because it would interfere with their duty. Selflessly giving souls passage to the other side at the detriment to your own sanity requires boundless empathy. Banik wilful stoicism doesn’t come naturally to them, it has to be learned, with time, nurture and great self control. all of these are difficult to come by in slavery. Not to mention how few and far between Stykera are. Stark’s ability to achieve calmness and serenity when performing his duty is the best you can expect. from as early as birth, Stykera are so rarely sane.

Vampire Fact #13 (oh no) - The Importance of Dracula

It's another vampire fact this month! Next month will be a Werewolf Fact again for October, of course, in time for Halloween.

But for now, let's talk about a very important topic when it comes to vampires... the importance of everyone's favorite count: Dracula.

Much like my Werewolf Fact "The Importance of The Wolf Man," this Vampire Fact will discuss the importance of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, published in 1897, and the almost-impossible-to-overstate importance of how it shaped all popular conceptions of vampires afterward - and even retroactively affected vampire legends through scholarship and study.

I want to open by saying that this post is not setting out to discuss the historical context of Dracula itself as a literary work, neither in terms of when/how Bram Stoker wrote it (and to what degree it was influenced by things like Varney the Vampire and John Polidori's The Vampyre), nor in terms of how much it relates to Vlad the Impaler. I am aware of the conversation around Bram Stoker and his work and the many discussions thereof, but that isn't what I'm here to cover today. Right now, I'm focusing only upon the undeniable, massive influence the novel Dracula in itself has had upon vampires in popular culture essentially from the moment it was published all the way until today - and it will continue, as well.

I may, however, talk about all those kind of things in a separate post, as I have spent a great deal of time studying them and even publishing upon them (including an article diving deep into how Polidori doesn't get enough credit overall in vampire study). But more on that later! For now, let's talk about what Dracula did for vampires.

First off, for those unfamiliar with Dracula, you should be. If you enjoy vampires at all and haven't read this book, that's a big blind spot! First of all, you'd enjoy the heck out of it, and second of all, it's the vampire book. That's possibly even worse than having not seen The Wolf Man if you love werewolves (although it's rather hard to say; they're pretty much on par, even if Dracula is considered more important historically, as it's a work of classic literature and movies don't often get that level of respect, which I disagree with).

Tangent. Anyway.

In Dracula, we see the foundational aristocratic, blood-sucking, pale, red-eyed, fanged, clean, finery-wearing vampire with civilized manners (until he suddenly lacks them because he's turned into a monster) - plus he's a count, of course. He lives secluded in his grand castle high in the mountains of Eastern Europe, and he is seeking to rejoin society. Many vampires are/were also influenced by the romantic - twisted or not - angle in the story and Dracula's obsession with one woman. Not everything of Dracula's was picked up by popular culture, of course - primarily what was reused, appearance-wise, were the elements later found in film adaptations. For instance, his white hair and mustache (the latter no doubt influenced by Vlad the Impaler) from the book are generally turned to black hair and clean-shaven, thanks to films that followed. But still, it all started with this book.

The character of Dracula would impact literally all vampires to follow, in some fashion or another. The influence is all-encompassing and undeniable.

Please note that not all of this influence came from the novel Dracula alone - it also comes from ripoffs and adaptations thereof, especially in film, as mentioned. I'm talking things like Nosferatu and all the many Dracula film adaptations thereafter. Some concepts didn't originate in Dracula itself - but they did come from things created from or otherwise heavily influenced by Dracula, so without Dracula, one can easily argue we wouldn't have any of those things, either. Like werewolves with The Wolf Man (1941), a lot of these influences also come from film. Obviously it all originated with the novel and adaptations thereof, however, so the novel deserves the credit, ultimately.

Your average Halloween vampire has the classic Dracula concept; whether one wants to argue it was popularized directly from the book or from later film adaptations, you can't deny the high-collared, well-dressed, tall dark and handsome pale vampire that became ubiquitous in recent decades. You know them, you love them - you've seen them every Halloween and on every bit of vampire merch afterward (except perhaps a few things after the Twilight renaissance, which I also won't cover in this post).

Other than obvious design influences, Dracula and its film adaptations of course influenced the vampire "lore" afterward. Perhaps the biggest impact on vampires is simple: fangs. Vampires in folklore didn't actually have fangs! Dracula completely popularized that. Many more details in the linked post as to where the fangs came from, etc.

What were some other things? Well, other than what I already mentioned, Dracula popularized the association of vampires with various kinds of animals (based in folklore), and it even popularized many concepts about vampire hunters, thanks to the ever-popular Abraham Van Helsing.

What else did it influence? Everything. Weaknesses, as well as how to become a vampire and vampires being a curse that the creature could spread to others, to humans, instead of a demonic being - and even the term "vampire" itself certainly saw a rise in the public eye from Dracula.

In truth, Dracula didn't just influence vampire concepts - it influenced all vampire stories to follow and the entire worlds built around their concepts, both vampires, vampire hunters, the general feel and setting of the stories, the plots themselves - absolutely everything.

Please note too, of course, that Bram Stoker was not a slouch on research. He was very heavily influenced by folklore and elements of history, even if he put his own spin on it and made many additions. The fangs in particular have become just a part of vampires as a whole, concept, image, everything. Without fangs, is a vampire even a vampire these days? Not really, especially in the modern mindset - and let's face it, vampires are made a million times cooler by the fangs.

If you want to read one of Bram Stoker's biggest folkloric inspirations, check out a little book called Transylvanian Superstitions, Scripta Minora by Emily Gerard and Agnes Murgoci. This is a good publication of it, and the one I have always used.

So what do I mean when I say that Dracula retroactively affected vampire legends, study thereof, and scholarship on such matters? Well, it's similar to what happened to werewolves over time. By creating interest in a particular "brand" of vampire, scholars began to scrape and search for legends that fit that "brand." Did they really exist? How many "legends" were retroactively twisted around to suit a scholar's needs/desires and/or how many were just created on the spot from thin air in order to say that the scholar "discovered" a legend wherein, for instance, a vampire has fangs?

This isn't unheard of in scholarship, by any means - especially when it comes to folklore. It's widely known that scholars will do such things, especially when it comes to academic argument. Am I saying I know of any in particular that were spawned from an interest in Dracula?

Not necessarily, but it's certainly true that a lot of scholars and certainly most people in general assume things about Dracula or its spinoffs and adaptations that followed come from folklore, and some even use that when writing their academic work, when in fact they did not. It still pervades across the internet that vampires that don't die in the sunlight are immensely silly and untrue to the folklore. Gosh, how ridiculous! Well, I hate to tell you, but that didn't even originate with Dracula, either, nor did it come from folklore. General Worldbuilding-

to release excess magic, some characters can exhale a smokey substance. The thickness of the smoke depends on how much magic they exhale. Each character's "smoke" looks different.

Sun Wukong-Aroace-Genderfluid-He/She/They

Aroace, She only likes Macaque, everyone else? meh couldnt care for them. Macaque though. Yes perfect, small, perfect tempurature, huggable size, kinda sassy sometimes but its cute. He is Aroace and only wants Macaque around-relationshipwise.

Because of his time in the furnace not only was his magic sharpened but his apparanced changed as well

Of course his eyes turned red, the sclera a dark and deep crimson and his pupils gold.

The his fur was permanently changed as well, parts permanently burnt to an dark orange/crimson color.

Since his magic was sharpened as ell he was of course stronger as he left the furnace, because he became stronger his magic leaks out of him in multiple ways when worked up.

When calm he has strands of gold at the front of his scalp.

the more he gets worked up/the more magic he uses without glamour, the more the gold spreads throughout his fur, tracing his scars.

His scars are normally a lighter shade of the crimson color of his burnt fur.

Macaque-Trans-He/Him

Nezha-Aroace-He/him

Nezha is eternally twelve. he has an adult form simply because he doesnt want to be condescended by his peers in heaven or anyone else. its also easier to do adult things in this form so he uses it very often.

Nezha was born with white hair in Investiture fo the gods but he is often interpreted with black hair. So I HC he was born ith white hair and after he came back from the dead his hair turned black and he only has a small section of hair left thats white. its a small section and easily hidden

you can interpret Aroace Nezha as either a twelve year old wanting to stay away from cooties or Nezha being sex/romance repulsed. either one works.

Theres one person they let close and thats thier fellow young immortal Longnu (i dont know much about her so ill add stuff about her later)

Nezha is Autistic.

they are Magically disabled.

In Investiture of the gods Nezha kills himself to stop the dragon king from throwing a tsunami and a storm into his home. Also as an act to keep any blame from thier parents for killing Ao Bing.

its alot of graphic stuff that i wont mention here but because of this after Nezha was reborn into a lotus body scars remained of that on his body.

primarily on thier neck and around thier torso.

another fact about the lotus body is that its not strong enough to contain his powers.

He was born with powers and strength of a god but the lotus body is not enough to contain it.

Nezha can use thier powers like a normal god but also uses alot of weapons to assist them because if they use too much it will strain the lotus body.

remember when Bai He's body started cracking because lbd's power was too much for her. the same thing but pink happens to Nezha.

they have a war form that is bassically engulfed in pink flames, two extra arms and sometimes two extra heads. along with more accessories, thier eyes turn pink as well. i need to draw this.

well they cant use this form for too long, if he does his body will start to crack and crack until it shatters and they turn into a lotus to rest and heal. kinda like the crystal gems

you can really tell when Nezha is upset when his hair starts turning pink and flaots like fire (god form leaking through). like he has to be REALLY exited (good or bad exited) for that to happen.

He has taken Mk as his little brother, he will kill for Mk

Same for Mei but she seems more feral unlike sweet Mk. So he's not very worried about her.

little form Nezha likes to jump onto Mk's back and be carried. they also like to do this with Wukong

Wukong adopted Nezha, she has a room in her house for Nezha to come and visit and stay whenever he wants for however long they want.

Wukong is Nezha's emotional support monkey and before Mk came around he was the only emotonal support monkey. Now Nezha has two. Mk and Wukong.

Glow up lol, also i made some hedcanons.

I don't like my curator desing.

The idea of lovebug stanley with lipstick marks is based in noalarmsnosurpraises, it's a very little detail but i feel bad if i don't say it.

warning: my hc are horrible this are the first one that i made and the english it's not my native language sorry if i comit any error.

Narrator: nearly never go out of his room, sarcastic old man, is older tha stanley but not a lot, is jealous of the bucket, the curator is his sister even if he look like an old man and she look way younger, anyone know why he has stickers that say "propietty of stanley" and anyone wants to know, during the lovebug au he just become hornier and a little bit simp also a little bit more impulsive and agresive, after the lovebug he felt bad for what he did nad he still having some efects.

Stanley: i really tried to think in headcanons for him but is the definition of bascib white guy with zero personality i just can say that he like buckets, holes and small rooms, during the lovebug he was the distraction for the narrator until the curator find a cure even if he ended infected too he was a good distraction(he accepted to be the distraction), like his was infected later he remember more of the lovebug than the narrator do so now don't dare to look directly at the narrator, more for shame than for fear.

Curator: She is narrator's sister and is always triying to push narrator to confess to stanley just because is tired of him having crisis of " oh i can't fall in love with my creation" it's very hard to lead with it, during the lovebug she tried to cure it and for preventing complications she used Stanley like a distraccion, for all the work of searching for a solutions she ended very tired.

I literally don't have anything about marielle, let's say that she likes buckets, who don't like buckets?

Even more details about Zlatt’s design (process)

As a tailor Zlatt takes his looks quite seriously. But as a mercenary he also cares about the function of his clothes and how they can help him through the battle or any other challenging situation. There was a lot things to consider.

His first ever design when I didn’t even know what his personality would be was this: 

His design was and still is inspired by D2 corvo. He used to have chains, many golden patterns that didn’t make any sense and I can say this for each peace of this design from 2021. The desing that I managed to create in the end still looks like one of Corvo’s concept artworks and I realised it only after searching for the artbook :D

Back to the process of creating it. It was awful. The clothes didn’t make sense, there was no functionality and I didn’t know how to fix it. I think I was struglling with his design for about a month of constant redrawing.

I tried to save his resemblance from earlier artworks of him where I painted him in details. But it didn’t work well for me. However, maybe I’ll use the jacket idea for the future, it’s still one of my favourite things about Zlatah’s old design. He kind of looks like a hunter, which I simply love.

I couldn’t figure out his silhouette. Sometimes it looked like Rohan or sometimes it would look like... Well

Yeah. My main goal for the design was to put an interesting mix of biker style clothing and tech wear. Here in the corner you can see the first idea for Zlatt’s design in this project:

He was supposed to have a naked shoulder where you could see an engraving tattoo of a snake. He was also supposed to have a cape and a corset. Alas, I couldn’t put it together. And I struggled further for weeks to still save this idea with the shoulder tattoo. I failed. I got stuck in this position where I didn’t know what to design for him. Until I decided to go into my old sketches folder and find this.

It’s a very old sketch of Zlatt that I forgot I had. It was a wholde different design that I’ve never used for him again. Then when I saw it I knew it was it. It felt like him, the silhouette was his, style was his. So, I got back to working on his reference sheet.

Everything was layed in front of me. I knew what to do and what I finally wanted. 

I had biker tech wear and that one sketch as my final direction for the design. Then, this looks was finally born.

In game I tend to use lighter shaders and I also had these cowboy pants that I took inspro for the final design with what was above.

There are buckles and clips, two belts, shoes that could take you through many battles and you could rely on them, pretty gloves that Zlatt never changes because they’re cool and he won them on a bet, there’s funky cowboy pants. Zlatt finally has his silhoutte and style.

What just as important as the story these clothes tell = it’s all functional and the viewer can actually tell how the hell the character fits in the outfit. That was a win.

There’s another topic about his design that I’d like to address later, but for now - thank you for reading.

INFO DUMP FOR UNIVERSE 11208

This universe doesn't have a Spiderman Instead it has a Prowler. (Which leads to alot more crime since no one is around to stop it)

The symbioties of this universe are huge (Venom is about 8ft tall in his big form and carnage is even bigger big tinner) they also have tails and spikes/horns. They are more animal like and are more intune with the hive mind that spans across the multiverse.

Hobie brown is the prowler of this universe. (Cos we love a evil version of the man I love)

Eddie "spiderman" aka the first Venom but they where doing the whole hero thing until he got hurt and is now in a coma (hence why Vi now has him)

Vi and Eddie dated (which is why he chose Vi to take on Venom, she already knew about him and they had a weird 3 way thrupple going on)

The sister 6 is mostly that same but a little more sinister then silly. (I will desing them at some point)

Symbiotes are a big part of the universe and will show up a lot with and without a host.

The Symbiotes can still have thier own big form even when attached to a host insted of the host wearing them (they are alot more independent, mostly using host as an energy battery)

Norman Osborn is the green goblin and is actually a pretty big threat to the universe they live in.

Since Vi is on a mission to connect all the Vemons to the bigger hive mind she barely spends time in her own universe. So she's got merch of all different spidermen and definitely has favourites since her own universe lacks a proper Spiderman.

Hobie brown became the prowler after Venom ate his mother. (Drama)

Q; first question I got are How did Vi and Venom bond? And I know you said Spider-man doesn't exist in your world, so what happened to Peter, Miles, Eddie, Cletus, and Flash?"

A; Vivvian was dating her universes Eddie while he was trying to be the hero the word despretly needed. But in a fight against Carnage (hyped up on goblin toxins) Eddie got hurt and ended up in a coma with a head injury. Peter Parker never got bit he's just a regular dude (tho I'm thinking about making him a carnage host later down the line)

Q; are Vi and Venom connected like Eddie and venom and the movies, or do they are Separated but still Is connected if that makes sense

A; So Venom and Vi are always connected even when he's in his big form separate from her he's connected by atleast one tendril at all times (which means they can't go more then a few meters apart at any given time) but Oh yeah for sure, it's thier biggest weakness. But they work around it and are good at working as a duo. But if Venom ever dose get de attached Vi loses all her powers (she isn't a spider man so she never got bit by a spider, she's only got venom powering her)

a add on from this, Vis biggest draw backs are that 1 she would absolutely die in a fight without venom. 2 the connection (they do have a connection in her DNA so it's hard to disconnect them but one he's not on her…she's kinda helpless) 3 she is strong AF and doesn't hold back bit because she's powering a whole nother person she runs out of energy faster and looses stamina faster then most.

so now i got the main story of the last drawing i wanna talk about why i came with the idea of lithium spiderman and some of the quirks of it story and characters,

Why i made it in the first place: outside of general fun of just making a spider man au (aus are always fun to imagine), it was because a comic i belive where spiderman and peter separater those type of stories always leave the idea of peter and spiderman as a thing that needs to coexist but it did keep me wonder we see a lot of peter not be able to cope with not having super powers, and the weight of the responsabilitie of not being a super hero has on him... but i feel there isnt a story where peter isnt... well peter dont get me wrong peter has to manage his spiderman life with his normal life (that is kinda the appeal of spiderman stories) but we rarely see why spiderman needs to be peter, why a version of peter that is just spiderman wouldnt be better without making spiderman over ego centric or out of character (in my opinion that is) of course the human element is always leave as garanted but i found intriguing the idea of a peter parker who only has his super hero style and has to learn to become peter parker, insted of the other way around

the story perse: story whise i imagine it would center around peter trying to get to norman osborn and destroy his military operations but in a more depper level it woud talk about how spiderman life style by itself is destructive over peters heath and mind untill he would have to relise (thanks to the help of black cat and other characters) the need of a normal life outside of being a super hero, learning the basics of how it is to have something outside of his "work" and learning to apreaciate the world better with his new friends (and a new identety)

little quirks: most of the villains of spiderman would have a more direct correlation with him being either old coworkers, long time enemies (before he turn on osborn) or people he has wrong in his past gwen is doctor optopus and had a crush on peter, she has conflicted feeling after his betrayal and becomes sortha of a rival for peter later on gwen also becomes venom trying to discover the spider syrium green goblin are osborn robots that he uses to hunt down peter, while he uses what he calls the orange goblin suit osborn has an ai assitant (similar to jarvis from ironman) who is secretly tying to over take him and is the principal responsible for controling the green goblin robots most villains and heroes have more tech base desing (tho not quite far future tech but futuristicish) black cat is mary jane and will be responsible to help peter adjust to his civilian life she is also a rockstar, that uses the info she gets from people in her circle to make her robberies j. jonah jameson was taken off his comapany after taking too much of a stand againts osborn, he was promtly remove and supposely assasinate but now as an annoyimous podcaster and blogger, he goes around berrating and getting information on osborn he is also the soul suporter of spiderman of this au, being a beliver in someone who attones for his wrongs to make a better future
