Like not only I’m going to meet BillyBabe on the 24th of November at the Berlin fanmeeting, no. I also bought a ticket for this event which means I’m going to meet all of these amazing people who created the most wonderful bl’s what exists.
Yuan, Pepzi AND Bee worked together on ‘my stand in’.
Bee alone wrote for many bl’s the script I consider my favorite such as ‘bad buddy, a tale of thousand stars, vice versa, my school president… etc.
Pepzi directed kinnporsche and is the director of the upcoming bl ‘sweet tooth, good dentist’ with Mark Pakin and Ohm Thipakorn. Helped (assist) to direct Bad Buddy, Voice in the Rain, Dark Blue Kiss and one of my faves ‘Great Men Academy’.
I’m meeting Yuan a second time (first one was at the ifylita special screening in Berlin). She produced my stand in, manner of death, after dark and was an executive producer for I feel you linger in the air which is one of my ult faves probably 🥰
And then we have Aof the one who directed and wrote (giving some examples of my faves): a tale of thousand stars, dark blue kiss, our skyy2: a tale of thousand stars, our skyy2: atots x bad buddy. Produced Wandee goodday, hidden agenda, only friends, 23.5, never let me go, my school president, the eclipse. Is an executive producer for p.s. I hate you also is the director of the upcoming bl sweet tooth, good dentist and US the series
Like do you get what I mean… 😭 such inspirational people who created some of the beautiful bl’s I know and identify myself with some of the characters they created 🥹
#it is such an honor to meet them live and see their perspective on things#I am so excited for this opportunity and grateful to live in Germany to experience this#like some of them created more but only listed some of their works#I talked too much but really to meet them in person idk how to feel 😭#tbh I’m more excited for this event#zey rants

People like to make fun of YA worldbuilding tropes that sort teenagers into arbitrary categories based on arbitrary characteristics that nonetheless have a huge impact on the teenager's future.
This is not unrealistic however, because the german education system sorts 4th graders based on their "academic merit" as determinded by one of their elementary school teachers into one of three (sometimes four) further type of schools, which has a drastic impact on the likelihood of you even getting the qualification to attend university.
Yes, your entire academic career path is dependent on whether your elementary school teacher likes you or not. Don't worry, some states think that's bullshit too and instead make fourth graders sit entrance exams for the education level of their (parents') choice. (Although the teachers still get a say). That's why sometimes have news articles about the burn out rates of elementary schoolchildren in Bavaria.
But don't worry! Politicians love to complain about... to many people in recent years receiving the qualification to attend university...
#but don't worry! of course there's educational class mobility!#if your grades are good enough you too can give up your entire social life to attend a different school form#where a good chunk of the teacher's are convinced that your presence in their classroom is an indicator of the descent of the country#this works in both directions too! if your grades are bad enough the school can always send you to a different form#this is totally not discrimination because this is all to support the child's individual learning needs in an environment fit for them#<- unironic official reasoning for why this system still exists#some parties have adressed the inherent discrimination and added a fourth school form in some states to mix things up#(after a former fourth form was abolished - i think nationwide?)#or i guess you go to private school#secret fifth option#germany#just german things#educational system#ya#worldbuilding#politics#i love every time the question on why so few people from working class families attend university in germany crops up at uni#everyone answers financial feasability despite numerous opportunities for financial aid#and overlooks *because you filter their asses out in elementary school*

In 2016 I packed my life into 2 big suitcases and moved from small town Georgia to Chicago, a move that may not have been a bad decision in and of itself but which led to many desperate bad decisions made to keep myself afloat in the short term. My goal was to not go back to Georgia. I needed to make it. I had something to prove and things to learn that I couldn't back home. I lived with an online friend we'll call Caleb, who was finishing up his doctorate of psychology, and we shared many a wonderful night together as friends before having 3 jobs and barely sleeping caught up to me. I moved back to Georgia, filed for bankruptcy, and spent years getting any semblance of a life back together. I've missed Chicago every day (it's just a city! But it was the first to feel like home and the weather agreeing with a person will do a lot of heavy lifting) but I've told myself I've learned from those mistakes.
Five and a half years after leaving, I'm invited to live with an online friend who's finishing up a psych degree and who wants to get their other friend to move in too. His name, of course, is Caleb's.
I'm not sure whether I'm being offered a second chance or having my bluff called about the learning from my mistakes thing.
#A lot of things would be different this time around and I'm reasonably confident that this time it'll work#Certainly more esl opportunities and chances to save before moving to Germany#I'm not going to buy a damn car this time#That was where most things went wrong I think#Anyway just... Pondering#It's a wild circumstance to have twice#I'm calling him Caleb because he was the Caleb to my Beau#Personal

Also one email is for a researcher that conducts research in a field I'm interested in and I found out about her existence today! So I want to write to her to know what kind of career she had and what was her PhD, and I don't know if she'll answer me but it would be cool
#I also had a professor that works in the same field and I'd like to keep in contact with her#because maybe I could ask her for a people I could go to for my PhD?#since most PhDs are in English and she knows german professors for the most part#and in Germany master courses tend to be in german apparently. or mixed german and english#plus there's the whole thing with the italian master degree making it easier to work in Italy#eventually. I don't want to work or live here but you never know. a good opportunity is a good opportunity#personal#I hate life#also I hope my email won't sound childish#the info I've found on the woman I'm sending an email to says she has a PhD in Psychology but that really isn't specific

Help Us survive the devastating GazaWar
✅ Verified campaign – please check vetteing section below 🔍
My husband Mohanad and I both worked as administrators at the Palace of Justice in Gaza.
We got engaged just two months before the war,
bought an apartment, and began dreaming of a new life together. But the war changed everything. Our workplace and apartment were destroyed, and we lost our jobs. Despite it all, we chose to move forward and got married in the middle of the war, with no wedding ceremony—just a simple union that symbolized resilience amid the devastation.
We’ve been displaced multiple times, each time facing a new eviction order and starting over again. We were forced to leave everything behind and flee with only a few belongings. The displacement was devastating, as we had to leave behind the life we built and the dreams we held for our future.
Today, we live in a small home in Al-Nuseirat, struggling to cover basic needs like food, water, and alternative electricity, facing monthly expenses we can hardly bear. Recently, a new eviction notice was issued for our area, and we don’t know what lies ahead. We’re searching for online work and have skills we can utilize, but finding opportunities has been very challenging under these conditions.
After renting the apartment in Nuseirat, we thought we had found a safe haven from the horrors of war. But on the night of 3-11-2024, explosions erupted nearby, and we never imagined one would hit our apartment. Suddenly, a missile struck; walls shook, parts collapsed, and windows shattered, leaving the room we had just been in destroyed.
We miraculously survived, but the place that once felt like a refuge had become a scene of chaos and destruction. With heavy hearts, we gathered what little remained and moved on once again, hoping to find shelter far from this endless devastation.

Update
On 28-11-2024, our home was shelled for the second time and struck by an artillery shell. We were trying to rebuild our lives amidst all the challenges, but today, our home has turned into rubble once again. 🥺🥺 The dream of safety is fading, and the suffering continues to grow. We need your support to stand on our feet again 💔💔
