okay. im a perfume nerd and i just can’t get this out of my head and these are all my own little brainworms so 🤪

perfume scents that every man in the 141 loves.

price is a classy man. but i also think he isn’t a huge fan of anything strong — he likes how you smell naturally. anything light, airy, a little floral but not like grandma rose perfume floral. price is the type of guy i see having fresh laundry scented candles in his house and a “fresh and clean” air freshener for his car. this man is tired and approaching middle age and he just wants his shit to smell good. including you. i hc something along the lines of maison margiela replica’s lazy sunday morning edt, glossier’s you edp, dedcool’s fragrance 03 blonde edp. for something more recognizable, gingham and sweet pea from bath & body works.

i feel like he’d also like chanel no. 5 just because of the name. his mum wore it. it’s sentimental for him.

notes: crisp fruits (pear, apple), light floral (jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, lilac), light musk, milk

gaz loves when you smell like a cashmere sweater. warm, sweet, but soft and homey. he wants to come home and just sit there and sniff you because you smell like a warm hug after a long day (it makes sense in my head okay). he’s the type to come along to sephora and ulta and hold the bottle while you spray the testers and he’ll tell you if something smells good (everything smells good, he likes seeing you smile & he’s paying anyway). philosophy’s fresh cream edp, ariana grande’s cloud intense edp, byredo’s slow dance edp, and skylar’s fall cashmere edp are all scents i think he’d love. i also feel like ivory cashmere from bath & body works is a given.

johnny. johnny is a man of taste, okay? this man loves a unisex fragrance. (they all do. but like. johnny truly just loves a scent that is just a scent. no feminine or masculine packaging.) literally anything that smells good has his paws all over you. i feel like he’s a woody, earthy scents kind of guy. just smell like a forest and he’s head over heels. like le labo’s santal 33 edp, tom ford’s oud minerale edp, zodica perfumery’s eau de dallas edp, dossier’s ambery saffron and woody oakmoss edp. mahogany teakwood & into the stars from b&bw will also get this man’s heart rate wild.

simon is a gourmand man. change my mind (you can’t). this man will get a whiff and have to stop himself from nibbling on you like a cat. or he doesn’t. you just smell too good, love. i don’t think he has a specific preference in terms of general scent, but anything that smells yummy has him drooling. sweet, warm, similar to gaz but more in the food direction than the cozy warm direction. i think le monde gourmand’s crème vanille edp, kayali’s yum pistachio gelato intense edp, billie eilish’s eilish 1.0 edp, sol de janiero’s brazilian crush cheirosa '71 fragrance mist. sweet whiskey and viva vanilla from b&bw are also delicious to layer with.

Notes: I hope you enjoy some dad-jokes. Ever since I saw the pants and the ice-cream, I couldn't stop slipping some cringe humor into his kisses. I hope you enjoy your kisses from the vice-admiral, sunflowersatori!

The corner of your lips upturned as you heard a small child cry out in glee at winning a prize. Humming briefly, you shake your head and deeply inhale through your nose to take in more of the surroundings. 

Caramelizing sugars in the heated cylindrical dome rose towards you, as did several meats and vegetables smoking over an open fire. As you continued your analysis, you could almost smell your next guest before you heard him approach the table. The sour scent of cigars caused you to recoil slightly, shaking off the heady scent of tobacco-laden nicotine. 

Several leaves were placed beside you in the glass container, a gruff cough grunting out as you heard a larger body sit themselves down on the wooden stool in front of you. Alongside the cigar scent, the lingering woody scent of pine and oakmoss aftershave caused your brows to furrow inquisitively. 

“M’sorry to do this to you,” the rumbled baritone called in front of you, the stool scuffing the floor as he inched closer to you. “My-... uh-... underlings decided to force me to come to your booth. Not somethin’ I’d ever seek out for myself.” You sink back in your seat, pursing your lips and folding your arms together in disapproval.

“No, no, no. Not that I don’t think you’re-...” he trailed off, attempting to back track his words while growling under his breath, “...I’m just gonna dig myself a hole no matter what I say now, aren’t I?” 

“Seems that way, yes,” you admit with a small scoff. You heard him chuckle in response to your retort, his body beginning to descend closer towards you. He placed his hand over yours, drawing your digits up to his face and permitting you to dance your digits over his cheeks to map his face before your kiss.

“Just so you know who your kissin’,” he whispered, his face near inches away from yours as you rolled your thumbs over his face. His heady aftershave swirled your mind as you flicked over the coarse skin on his cheeks and chin. 

“Thank you,” you whispered in response, gently lacing your fingers over his cheek to card through the cropped hair at the nape of his neck, “Very considerate of a man who was priorly digging himself such a deep hole.” 

“What can I say?” he whispered, his breath tingling your lips due to his close proximity, “I’m a kind and considerate excavator.” You fling a carefree giggle in the air before finally pressing your lips to his.

His lips felt chapped, subtle creases in his upper lip that indicated the puckering grimace of a nicotine addict. He drew his broad hand down to cup your thigh as he dominated your lips with his almost immediately.

Circling his chin and changing angles of his kiss, he hungrily sought out more of your lips and mouthed at you to open yourself up to him. His tongue darted out to dance with your own, the slow grind atop your own tongue holding a lingering taste of sour smoke. 

You continued to press lengthy movements of your lips on his, slowly dragging your hands at the base of his neck and raking your digits down towards his chest. He hummed into the kiss, his nose brushing against yours as he switched angles once more before ending the engagement. 

Pulling away from your lips, he softly rumbles a soft chuckle. Reaching his hand up from your thigh, he slowly thumbs over your bottom lip and caresses your cheek gently. 

“I’ll, uh…” he sheepishly chuckled with a breathy sigh, “I’ll be back to plow you some more later.” You immediately furrow your brows and downturn your prior smile and clench your teeth. 

“Excuse me?” you recoil away from his grip, sitting back against the barstool. He immediately staggered over his words, coughing before reaching into his jacket pocket and rustling his hand around.

“I just meant, from our earlier hole digging-...” he trailed off, prompting you to shake your head and huff out a small laugh. He joined your laughter with a chuckle of his own, flicking back the metal flint to spark the heat of a small flame. He rose to his feet, sliding back the barstool and sighing deeply. 

“Enjoy taking your quarry somewhere else for a couple hours,” you giggle at him, your tight-lipped smile withholding your more unbridled laughter, “I don’t mean to bore you, but I’ll be planted here for a little while longer.” 

“Oh, you’ll be mine soon enough,” he chuckled in response, reaching down and grasping your hand, raising it to his lips and pressing a chaste kiss on your knuckles. He turned away from you, walking back over towards his subordinates and verbally chastising himself. 

“I’m a kind and considerate excavator?” he growled, sucking in a heavy lungful of his twin cigars, “What even is that?” Shaking his head, he spared you one last glance over his shoulder, noticing your kiss-bruised lips and subtle fluster on your cheeks. He can’t wait to see you again, if that’s at all something you would want from him.

Jin Grandet

The big bro, seductive womanizer and alcohol lover definitely smells like seduction and playfulness with a mature vibe. I'm sensing some kind of citrusy freshness along with some spices on top of a woody warm bed.

He's the life of the party. We've all been charmed by him at any point in the series, don't you dare denying it. Yes, he is traumatized, but so are we. He is dazzling and fresh like a summer breeze, sweet and funny like an ice cream.

Notes: mandarin, lemon, sea salt, jasmine, rose, muguet, heliotrope, musk, vanilla, coconut and aromatic herbs.

In literally everyone's routes, it's said that our silly boy who just wants to be loved and understood smells like a red flag "late night trysts", but what exactly that smells like?

ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: CREED — AVENTUS

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a serious perfume review, this is something fun for me to do as I love perfume. each and every one of us have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fragrances. what works for me might not work for you, vice versa. my scent experience:

the first notes I smelt were the base notes of birch and ambroxan. I don’t know exactly what ambroxan is but it smells like strong aftershave intensified. I do smell the fruity notes of pineapple and apple in the beginning but they fade away quickly. it dries down to this woody but weird chemically aftershave scent that is just not pleasant on the nose. the scent is on the cleaner side as well which gave me a headache later on.

it’s safe to say that I don’t like this perfume. I remember everyone in the fragrance community talk about how much they love Aventus it’s creed’s best seller but when I smelt it for the first time, I was not into it. and before anyone starts gaslighting me in the tags, just remember we all have different preferences in perfume. not to mention, I’ve tried to gaslight myself into liking this fragrance for years and I still can’t convince myself to like it.

additional notes from me:

this is in my top 5 list of red flag perfumes for men. if you wear this perfume, I will do anything to stay away from you no matter how much money you have. I’m not saying that Hongjoong is a red flag but his choices in perfume is something else. I’ve also heard stories of creed perfumes being inconsistent, some batches being good while some smelt horrible and they’re quite expensive. that is a quality control issue and hopefully they’ve resolved it because I can’t imagine spending so much on a perfume and you don’t even know if you got a decent bottle.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes the smell of aftershave.

those who want to smell like a red flag but with money.

anyone who wants to try creed perfumes.

bg3 companions fragrance headcanons because of course i was going to make this post eventually

Shadowheart: Anything heady and lush. We're talking your jasmine amber incense bombs. Patchouli, rose, vanilla, clove and anise, chocolate, a touch of aldehydes for sparkle. She wears perfume to Turn Heads and Make Statements and it works.

Karlach: She likes cheap fruity body sprays and has no desire for anything more "sophisticated"

Wyll: Warm, sweet, woody, and spicy. Gourmands but the more sophisticated kind of gourmands. While he does not wear overtly floral-forward perfumes he DOES love when floral notes play a supporting role. Signature scent: Au Coeur du Désert by Tauer Perfumes

Astarion: Bracing greens. Scents that are so herbal they can edge into bitter/medicinal. Leather as a base note. He would put substantial effort into trying to find a mint perfume that Does It Right instead of smelling like toothpaste or vaporub.

Minthara: Understated and androgynous aquatic, ozonic, mineralic, soapy scents. Signature scent: Narciso Rodriguez For Him

Lae'zel: I honestly don't think she would be interested in scenting herself however she WOULD appreciate when someone else is wearing something bold and daring. If a perfume has a reputation of being "love it or hate it" she probably loves it.

Halsin: Okay this is probably gonna be my most controversial take on this list but I think he would wear macy's fragrance counter fuckboi scents BUT CRUCIALLY he inexplicably pulls it off and they always smell AMAZING on him.

Gale: He likes very complex perfumes where it's hard to identify individual notes because they are just that exquisitely blended and balanced. Also he's rather old-fashioned. Gravitates toward things like oakmoss, labdanum, orris root, civet—basically a greatest hits list of Classic Perfumery even though the average person has no idea what they smell like.

Hazbin Hotel Fragrance Oils Out Now!

Alastor’s Fragrance:

A sophisticated, dangerous and spicy scent with notes of black pepper, sweet tobacco, labdanum, lily, and bergamot, like being swept off your feet by a disarming smile in a 1920’s parlour. The scent is animalic, cloying notes of oakmoss, musk, and fir, like a walk through the woods on a cold night with a chill running down your spine. It is strange, alluring, and wonderfully unsettling with the soothing sweetness of currant, amber, sandalwood and vanilla woven through.

Angel Dust’s Fragrance:

This fragrance oil smells just as sweet and flirty as Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel. Its soft florals and intoxicating amber notes float around you like cherry blossom petals falling in the spring. The subtle hint of woodiness, musk, tonka bean and sultry scent of peach, apricot and cherry evoke a deliciously succulent haze you can drape across yourself. It is a rich, plush scent just as decadent and fruity as Angel is himself.

Atsushi: a fresh green apple and pear, kiwi is youthful, the middle flowers spread fresh and brilliant in a fruity scent. At the same time, just like Atsushi, it joins with a dependable backbone, good natured and kind, it is a determined scent.

Middle: muguet (lily of the valley), jasmine, rose, cyclamen

Akutagawa: grapefruit snaps off, chilly and fresh, sweetness is pulled through bit by bit, it turns into a deep dark woody scent. Akutagawa’s ruthless nature and his hope for an attachment to “some person” is expressed in this scent.

hii recently decided to seek out a signature scent through perfume samples n was wondering if i could get some reccs! i found that i really like autumn vibes by maison margiela and oud wood by tom ford … but both are way out of my budget. do you have any reccs for similar masculine-ish scents that are woody, warm, and a lil sweet? preferably under £100? thank u in advance love ur blog :)

warm, woody fragrances are my absolute favorite! i'll recommend some good cheaper fragrances to consider to the best of my ability :)

this is peak fall, with a wonderful blend of warm woodsy fragrances but a more sweet marshmallow and pumpkin blend to pull it together. it's got a lot of cinnamon, but i don't think it's too overwhelming to the point of completely taking over the rest of the notes

full dark by solstice scents

solstice scents are a bit more than some other indie fragrances ($90 for a bottle), but i do really stand by their work. full dark is a great darker halloween-y fragrance. it might not be as sweet as you'd like, but there is still some spicy sweetness that adds some more depth. i adore this one a lot, it has a lot of my favorite notes in it!

other solstice scents i would recommend checking out: estate rosewood, farmhouse in fall

since you mentioned enjoying oud wood, it might be worth checking out this $45 dupe of it! dupes are sometimes...controversial in the fragrance community, but that's mainly when they're dupes of smaller houses. i think dupes of big, expensive houses like tom ford are fine LOL

amore oudh is a pretty faithful adaption of the same fragrance for much cheaper. it might be a tad more synthetic-y in comparison, but overall it's one of the better dupes you can get out there

oud noir by versace

not as sweet per say, but oud noir is a wonderful darker ambery spice oud-heavy fragrance. it's a classy "masculine" clean smell. its performance isn't perfect, but it is relatively cheap so applying some more throughout the day isn't as much of an issue

marlowe by poesie perfume

i love some coriander with teak wood....this is a really good spicy floral woody fragrance. a good masculine warm smell for the colder months!

poesie's cardigan (sandalwood, cardamom, pimento berries, vanilla, white chocolate, "sweater" musk) is also a good consideration! it's a very cozy and comforting scent that's less spicy but still a good warm, cozy woody scent.

and, lastly, lovesick witchery has a looot to choose from that i think would suit what you're after! i'll just briefly list the top ones i think would work well, but i would recommend taking a peek at their full list of fragrances

seance perfume - lavender, oakmoss, incense, cedarood, sweater musk

spirit perfume - bourbon, tobacco, tonka bean, bay rum, sandalwood

dark bloom - gardenia, pink pepper, amber, black vanilla, datura, jasmine, cacao

erudite's parlor - tobacco, gin, musk

happy hunting!! i had a few more to recommend, but pretty much everything else i can think of is above $100 sadly. if you get the chance, i would highly recommend getting some samples from the scents of wood house! my favorite from them is cedar in acacia which is a delicious woody spicy fragrance

It is night time and the air is ripe with a compelling blend you’ve been experimenting with, honeysuckle so sweet it could have been poured straight out of the anther of a ginger lily. The woody pungency of pine oakmoss and tang of oily, green violet leaf is so sharp it banishes reality from your mind. This is the fragrance you craft when you want to go to a place of solace, a bank next to a moon river that ripples and flows invitingly, surrounded by dark fields in the middle of nowhere.

You were sixteen the first time you stood under a raven black sky in the middle of a vast and verdant field at midnight, behind you in the distance people sat around a bonfire talking quietly but the urge to escape them was palpable and so lured by the cool air against your butter-soft skin you walked 152 steps into the night while the stars looked down at you, a diamond map guiding your steps. You were young, the whole world stretched before you and you felt every nuance of the moment, aware of every cricket that was hiding under a blade of wet grass.

This is the scent that transports you far away from people and the noise and details and you are back in a world of your own, a brief escape, where the delicate and majestic unite.

anon your opinion is correct. he smells like oakmoss and tobacco and maybe a bit of cedar: green, woody, and earthy; and when it rains, the petrichor clings to him. he smells like the smoke of his herbal cigarettes but not like a cooking fire: always like the forest and never like the towns he only stays in for a day or two—almost like the forest can never let him go. (or is it the other way around?)

"TURNABOUT," an Ace Attorney-inspired collection!!

This collection features 8 scents inspired by Ace Attorney characters, available both as candles and snap bar-style wax melts.

"Objection!" - Phoenix Wright: A woody, slightly spicy scent that opens with peppercorn, cedar, and orange zest. Heart notes of sandalwood, jasmine, neroli, and cashmere are followed by a resinous base accented with vetiver and Cabernet grape.

"Unnecessary Feelings" - Miles Edgeworth: A rich, luxurious blend. Top notes of orange bitters and rock salt ease into freshly waxed mahogany wood and pink pepper, all wrapped up in a smooth base of oakmoss, paprika, bourbon, and tonka bean.

"Hamburgers and Ramen" - Maya Fey: Sweet and girlish, this scent begins with grapefruit, bergamot, thyme, and sweet pea. White tea, nutmeg, rose, and honey form the heart notes, and are followed by tuberose and jasmine.

"Chords of Steel" - Apollo Justice: A strong scent with a kick of spice. Top notes of bergamot, ginger, and lemon mingle with cardamom, nutmeg, rose, and incense. Woods, labdanum, amber, and musk linger at the base.

"Courtroom Air Guitar" - Klavier Gavin: A balanced scent reminiscent of expensive cologne. Sea spray, eucalyptus, and citrus zest provide an ozonic opening combination, warmed by heart notes of cashmere, florals, and earthy mint. Cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, and amber musk complete the blend.

"Impromptu Psychoanalysis" - Athena Cykes: Bright notes of lemon, lime, citrus peel, and lemongrass jump-start this blend, followed by a calmer heart of jasmine, sugar, and blackcurrant. A simple patchouli and powder base holds the medley together.

"Gallery Fopdoodles" - Simon Blackquill: An earthy blend that opens with palm leaf and coffee, blending into oak, leather, patchouli, and caramel middle notes. Bottom tones of smoked vanilla, whiskey, and dried woods leave a lasting impression.

"Weaponized Prayer Beads" - Nahyuta Sahdmadhi: Soft and delicate, this scent's top notes of aloe, citrus zest, and milky ambrette unfold into a smooth heart of bamboo, green leaves, tuberose, and temple incense. Tonka bean, vanilla, sheer musk, and teakwood add depth for the finishing touch.

This collection has been bouncing around in my noggin for about two years, and now it is finally time to release it into the wild.

ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: FREDERIC MALLE — EAU DE MAGNOLIA

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a serious perfume review, this is something fun for me to do as I love perfume. each and every one of us have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fragrances. what works for me might not work for you, vice versa. I’ll try my best to describe the scents but I will always suggest for you to go and smell them yourself before purchase. if you want to try these perfumes, please test or get a sample before committing to the bottle. picture credits to all owners.

my scent experience:

it opens very citrusy with the lemon and bergamot, almost like an air freshner in your aunty’s bathroom type of citrus. once it settles, you can definitely smell the magnolia and jasmine but citrus top notes do linger — basically white florals with a little bit of zest. the dry down is still floral but it’s a little earthy, most likely from the oakmoss and I don’t smell the patchouli so that’s good. the best way I could describe this scent is being in a florist and someone wipes down the counter with lysol.

the projection isn’t the best one. you can hardly smell it unless you stick your nose onto your arm or wherever you applied it. the longevity is alright, it lasted for about 3 hours on me which for a Frederic Malle perfume, doesn’t sound too good.

additional notes from me:

the first time I ever smelt this perfume was actually in my hotel room in Milan — the hotel’s hair and body products had used this exact scent. now everytime I smell this perfume, it feels like I’m back in Milan I miss that place so much. I’m so tempted to buy the bottle because it reminds me of the city but I haven’t just yet. I don’t remember the scent being like how I described it but maybe it’s because the concentration differs between the products and if I’m being honest, I’m glad I didn’t buy a bottle. it’s not one that I would reach for unfortunately.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes white florals and citrus perfumes.

those who want something light and are willing to splurge on an expensive fragrance.

anyone who wanted to try Frederic Malle perfumes.
