Tripiṭaka Koreana (a.k.a. Korean Buddhist Canon) stored at Haeinsa (해인사), South Korea.

Tripiṭaka Koreana is the whole of the Buddhist Scriptures written in 52,330,152 Chinese characters, organized in over 1496 titles and 6568 volumes, and carved onto 81,258 wooden printing blocks, which have been housed at Haeinsa since 1398.

生誕120年　棟方志功展　メイキング・オブ・ムナカタ

国立近代美術館で「生誕120年　棟方志功展　メイキング・オブ・ムナカタ」を見る。版画（板画）を中心としつつも、それだけにはとどまらない棟方作品を幅広く取り上げた大規模な回顧展である。

1928年の油絵「雑園習作」。

「東京弁稽古の図」。自伝『板極道』の中の、上京が決まった頃の場面の挿絵。

「歌舞伎版画勧進帳」（1931年）。歌舞伎座で上演された勧進帳の役者を描いたもの。後年の棟方らしさバリバリの作品とは異なるテイストの版画を見るのは初めてで物珍しく、こういう仕事もしていたのかと驚かされた。役者は左から順に、初代中村鴈治郎、初代中村吉右衛門、市川中車（キャプションには書かれていないが、おそらく七代目）。

「観音経曼荼羅」（1938年）。裏彩色を初めて本格的に取り入れて成功した作品とのこと。

「華厳譜」（1936年）の風神。個人的に好きな棟方作品のひとつ。

青森ゆかりの能「善知鳥（うとう）」をテーマにした「善知鳥版画巻」（1938年）の中の「鉄嘴」「浪声」。

西洋モチーフの作品もある。「基督の柵」（1956年）。

「ホイットマン詩集抜粋の柵」（1959年）。

「神祭板畫巻」（1943年）。国画会展に出品されたものの、「皇大神宮」の文字の途中で改行されているのが不敬にあたるのでは���いかと主催者側が恐れ、撤去されたという。内容は思いっきり天皇賛美に見えるのに、改行すらもはばかるとは……言論統制および自主規制ほんとこわい。

棟方が請われて揮毫した書「無事」。説得力のある「無事」である。

「二菩薩釈迦十大弟子」（1939年）。「須菩提」は版木と見比べることができる。

襖は大きいので全体の写真を撮るのが難しい。

「いろは板画柵」の右隻。

「谷崎歌々板画柵」の左隻。谷崎潤一郎の歌に絵をつけたもの。

谷崎潤一郎の小説『鍵』の挿絵。

パッケージデザインも引き受けた棟方。

「華狩頌」（1954年）。モチーフはアイヌの儀礼に発想を得、構図は坂本万七が撮影した高句麗古墳・舞踊塚の壁画からヒントを得たという。

青森凧絵。

棟方デザインの浴衣。

「東海道棟方板画」（1963-64年）。このシリーズは、棟方作品の主なイメージ（民藝とか宗教モチーフとか）から離れて、工業化する日本の姿が描かれているのが気に入った。

「大印度の花の柵」（1972年）。ゴッホのひまわり図に入り込んだ棟方。作者の顔が浮かび上がる花瓶がちょっとキモおもしろい。

”König Ubu”

Das Theaterstück “Ubu Roi” wurde bereits 1896 mit Skandal in Frankreich uraufgeführt. Warum? Weil es wesentliche Schwächen der menschlichen Psyche zum Inhalt hat und sich manch ein Mitmensch darin wieder erkennen konnte. Der Inhalt hat bis heute nicht an Bedeutung verloren.

Eine Holztypen-Druckserie zu immerwährendem Stolz, Ärger, Neid und Gier. Begonnen im Jahr 23, gezeigt in der “feinart” Galerie Berlin und im “Museumshaus Im Güldenen Arm” in Potsdam 2024.
