This is like, the first full illustration I've drawn in months lol. Did this for the venti fanart contest hoyo had going on but I'm very stupid and started this four hours from the deadline. Be smarter than me and don't do that maybe

Bloodborne is seriously the most beautiful game of all time i think about this every single time i replay it but genuinely. Just exploring yharnam and staring in awe at how gorgeous everything is, its never about graphics, bloodborne has a noticeable stylization i think in a way even stronger than other fromsoft games, and the use of lighting and color palettes is just so good it makes me want to Be there. The game is already so stunning as it is ingame but i think having access to the map viewer on my own to the side made me appreciate it even more i love seeing the way everything is constructed and put together with just the flat textures before applying any engines and even as flat surfaces you can just feel the cohesion in the backgrounds, even textureless stripped of everything that makes it "beautiful" it still feels so unique and already gets the vibe across and that explains how the game feels the way it does visually, which is something i think a lot of current gen "high fidelity" games struggle with. Hard to explain what I mean but I feel it. Also i love the slight like chromatic aberration effect bb has on the edges of the screen it adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere honestly. Sighs dreamily

Nothing from what I've learnt this morning is true, I'm gonna cuddle up with my cats and stay in bed all day and daydream about everyone being alive and happy
#jjk#jjk leaks#jjk 236#the most cruel thing of all is that gojo never got to claim the happiness of his youth back#all he ever knew in his life was being the strongest and fighting#gege goes around saying things like what gojo truly lacks is the sense of self#meanwhile gojo was othered throughout his entire life for what he is#he was slaughtered for what he is#he was sealed for what he is#he was left fighting alone because of what he is#gojo coveted change but he himself remains a static symbol etched into the narrative#and now he dies and his death is nothing but a symbol a cautionary tale for others to derive meaning from#at the end of the day gojo is a case study of a romantic hero archetype#he rejects established conventions because they suffocate him as much as his strength does only to be rejected by his society in return#he is the center of his own existence but still carries ideology which has others placed at its core#and he dies for his ideal forever estranged from the world he's put in#and it is all in vain#and it is the cruelest thing of all#and it can't be true it's not true it's not true it's not true it's not true#i need to go scream in the woods#me: it's devastating and terrible and makes me feel sick. i'm emotionally overwhelmed and would not be prepared to talk about it for weeks#my brain: okay but what if we analyze it–#apparently my coping machanism is compartmentalizing#the narrative never pretended to care about gojo as a person his character introduces a body of meaning and that's it#and it's how it's supposed to be honestly since he's not the main character he adds to the narrative but he isn't supposed to drive it#but it still aches so bad#he dies so that his ideal can live on he is not a person he is a narrative's symbol and this is as far as objectification can go

I just can't stop doing projects... I'm really happy with how this sign turned out. Spent only two days working on this, thanks to my library's makerspace!

Prints 2, Jonas Wood’s exhibition at Gagosian Gallery in NYC, consists of over thirty prints made between 2018 and 2022, in a variety of styles and subject matter.
From the press release-
You have to build the print piece by piece. I just love the way it looks, the process, the whole feel of it. It’s irreplaceable. —Jonas Wood
The works on view in Prints 2 feature Wood’s perennial motifs—plants, pottery, portraiture, interiors, landscapes, and basketball—reflecting the life of the artist through representations of home, studio, and natural spaces. They are united by Wood’s transformation of subject matter into images with skewed planar space, dense patterning, and vivid color. Developing his prints in parallel with his paintings, Wood has arrived at linked practices that continually inform one another.
Emphasizing the collaborative aspect of printmaking, Wood works with masters of traditional methods who have made innovative contributions to the field. Prints 2 features works made with Aliso Editions, Cirrus Gallery & Cirrus Editions Ltd., Counter Editions, Hamilton Press, Mixografía, and Pace Editions. In addition, Wood publishes and copublishes under his own imprint, WKS Editions.
The stylistic diversity of Wood’s prints results from his experimentation with pictorial effects, processes, and materials, effectively exploring the genre of printmaking itself. The methods used to produce the works in Prints 2 include hard-ground and soft-ground etching, lithography, screen printing, and woodcut, as well as various hybrid processes. Wood pairs these techniques with variations in mark making, color, texture, and density to harness and reveal the characteristics unique to the medium.

Why is nothing easy in renovating? Joiners finished up fixing the floor (Yay! No holes anymore!) and said they'd attach new skirting boards as part of the price. Great, I thought, they'll be bog standard simple skirting boards like what was there before. Oh no. Come back to find these horrible chunky skirting boards that I assume are meant to be modern but they literally just look like a plank of wood has been attached to the wall
