You're Not Doin' Fine, Oklahoma!

In case you haven't heard last December AEW filmed one of their shows in Oklahoma. On this show AEW star Nyla Rose had a squash match honestly the same type of squash match she's had dozens of times now. And before I go any further into what happened as a result I just want to point out that Nyla Rose has an online merch store with plenty of awesome designs. It turns out that the Oklahoma Athletic Commission has a snitch line in case YOU catch a transgender individual living their life within the confines of the state. What did this result in? Well it resulted in AEW being issued a warning at the January board meeting that if they let it happen again there would be 'punitive damages'. Anyhow, though I shouldn't be I am surprised that a governmental agency believes professional wrestling is.

Guys I just watched New Japan Strong Style Evolved 2024, and you all know most of the time I too will be most interested in talking about Matt Jackson in pearls and Mina Shirakawa doing anything at all rather than Mercedes Moné, but this time? I feel like my dash and other social media feeds could have given me more of a heads up that Mercedes just had what is currently ranked as the Best Match of Her Career against Hazuki 24 hours ago, and holy shit, between that match and last month's bout against Kris Statlander? I'm starting to see what a bit of the fuss was about Sasha Banks.

If you liked the match against Statlander at Full Gear 2024 at all? Seek this match against Hazuki out Immediately. It's amazing, I am immediately a fan for life of Hazuki and goddamn if I'm not honestly one of Mercedes now too. Anyone who can chain wrestle submissions like that for 20+ minutes and take bumps so hard their lashes get knocked off? Deserves my reconsideration.

I need AEW fans to know that on Tuesday, Thunder Rosa's love of wrestling was by her own admission 'reignited'. When she sang a duet of Fairytale of New York with strange British tv mascot Mr Blobby. You also should know that this was in fact also the peak of pro wrestling and it is all downhill from here.
