Thank You Turbo Kid! The IP That Has Given Me So Much Recently!

First a bit of context so this will make sense. I have a chronic condition that has been steadily increasing my pain, and decreasing my functionality. While doctors have never been able to figure it out after the latest tests on my brain I'm being sent to an MS specialist. So it's probably that. To be fair the only reason doctors ruled out MS till now was though my symptoms were a 100% match was my age. Now I'm old enough to finally get the diagnosis I guess. Anyhow I had seen the trailer for the movie (See the trailer NOT on Youtube here) thought it looked like a lot of fun then threw Turbo Kid onto the pile of things I'd probably never be able to sit through due to health. Well last Saturday I was feeling okay, so I decided to try to watch a movie with the spouse. Since Turbo Kid was on my mind we tried to watch that. Not only did we both love it but I managed to make it throught the movie in a single sitting. Honestly having the mental and physical capability to watch a movie with my spouse is something so rare that some years it can only happen once or twice. Not only did I love it and it brought me a lot of joy but the spouse did too! The movie isn't the only thing that's great. The soundtracks are pretty amazing too! Keeping with the genre they are heavy on the synth... Here's the track 'Wasteland' from the movie:

There is a Turbo Kid game that has been on Steam for a bit but has now been brought to the Switch 2 digitally. If you haven't seen the movie first the game will have spoilers in it. Gameplay wise it's a very well done Metroidvania. Given hand issues Metroidvanias tend to be games that give me pause because they aren't always...hand friendly I will say. I am playing the hell out of this game! By that I mean I have managed to play 5 hours in the last 3 days and I want to play more! The combination of the story, and feel of the world the game manages to carry on from the movie, but the music, the fun game play, and the old 16 bit graphics. When I am playing it I get so happy that I'm able to ignore the issues I experience, at least for a while. Even endless serotonin can only hold off hand pain for so long unfortuantely. So even if it is me just screaming into the void (Tumblr) I wanted to share what Turbo Kid has brought me, the gifts it's given to me, and the joy it gives me somewhere, somehow.

Your art style makes me want to try to learn how to draw once more but there are medical issues that make that next to impossible. (Hard to draw when your hands don't work right at times) Anyways though I am not a Byler shipper myself I just feel like I need to tell you how amazing this is @microwavedemon and share it with others.

Just A Christian Reminder

American Evangelical Christianity is just Satanism with extra steps and far more window dressings. It isn't just a false prophet scenario when every one of their leaders are fasle. They have hatred and intolerance baked into every aspect of thier lives. They go into churches and praise hate. They wear hatred as a badge of honour. The pillars of rot they try to pass off as their congregations poison everything around them. A result they work hard to fulfill day and night. If you somehow have stayed with the flock but not drank the anti-Christ teachings that feul every American Evangelical viewpoint that they keep pushing as the truth to torture and hate their fellow man, if you are still a good person you better keep that shit to yourself cause they will turn on you. I hope one day they actually get to experience the light and love that comes with following the teachings of Jesus and break free from the satanic darkness they are blinded by and openly chain themselves to so they can benefit the few. Jesus loves you even though you have worked so hard to expel all love from your heart.

So for me it would be Phoebe Spengler from Ghostbusters Frozen Empire and honestly...it depends on what Doctor she ended up traveling with.

Traveling with the 13th Doctor geeking out over technology and really dorky science puns?? It'd be amazing.

With a lot of the other Doctors it would be pretty meh.

Though I think her and the 12th Doctor would also get along once he saw how she handles authority figures she thinks are morally in the wrong.

Just because it suddenly occurred to me Midge Maisel would be a fantastic companion. Though the actual main character of the last thing I did is Sam Vimes, which..... Hot take but i'll place in the Alright category. It'd be cool, but he has too much counter-narrative power of his own for it to Really Work in the proper companion format, y'know. Cool but something else.
