What I will say is this: abortion is good and necessary but the fact so many of them are happening reveals a huge problem with irresponsible and sexually coercive men. And I think that gets buried in the discourse over whether women should even be allowed to have abortions. Personally I think the laws should be on mandating condom use for men. It wouldn't stop all sexual coercion resulting in pregnancy, but it might stop some. And it would be nice to see men squirm and whine about it, tears in their eyes, crying "my freedom! my body, my choice!"

My friend called it red bubble tea, and I haven’t celebrated in a while both because I’m busy and because I no longer live 5 minutes away from a bubbletea place where the owners will indulge my request for all the red fruits and only those. But yeah, good times. :)
actually I think women should have abortion parties. women should pop champagne with other women and have ironic cakes. yeah I said it. oh no I'm being so flippant about a serious issue wah wah wah, oh you think women should hide their faces? should cry themselves to sleep? I think women should start naming their pets Abortion and Birth Control.

we really need to stop associating facial and body hair with men. it's just hair. someone having a beard or body hair does not instantly make them a man. women, intersex, perisex, trans and cis all can naturally grow beards and body hair. men, intersex, perisex, trans and cis can all never grow facial or body hair, ever.
if a woman has a beard for whatever reason, it doesn't invalidate their womanhood or make them partially or wholly a man. if a man can't grow facial hair or refuses to, this doesn't make them any less of a man. trans and intersex women are not obligated to shave their faces constantly in order to be seen as women. trans and intersex men are not obligated to try to grow or make it look like they grow facial hair in order to be seen as men people deserve bodily autonomy when it comes to hair, especially if it just literally grows there against your will.

This is why when I say "at any stage for any reason" I mean it.

That's also what I mean when I say I want the debate shifted. There should be no debate on whether women should have abortion. Woman wants abortion, she gets abortion. End of story.
I want fierce debate on how to get men to stop being sexually irresponsible and/or coercive. I want pills recommended, I want condom use mandated, I want fines and jail-time while men insist they really did use it correctly, it just broke! They swear! I want mandatory vasectomies on the table as doctors fight to improve the reversibility.
I don't mean, let's not leave men out of the abortion debate! It takes two to tango! No. I mean no more abortion debate. Women get to have abortions. Period. That's it. I want the abortion debate replaced with an entirely new debate that targets men and men only.

"The number of teenage abortions in Finland fell by 66% between 2000 and 2023, its public health institute THL said on Monday, attributing the reduction to the offer of free contraception to adolescents and compulsory sex education in schools.
Finland also passed a law in 2022 liberalising abortion, at a time of deep divisions over abortion rights in Europe and court rulings in the U.S. that restricted access to terminations of unwanted pregnancies for millions of people there.
The number of abortions among women under 20 rose during the 1990s in Finland, which led the Nordic country to respond at the start of the 2000s by making morning-after pills available without prescription from 15 years of age and sexual education compulsory in all schools.
"We can assume that sexual education plays a significant role," THL's research professor Mika Gissler told Reuters, adding that increased access to contraception from a young age was another factor behind the change.
The number of abortions fell 66% to 722 in 2023 from 2,144 in 2000 among all teenagers aged 19 or younger in Finland, while the drop was even steeper at 78% among those under 18 in the same period, THL's statistics showed.
"Since the latter half of the 2010s, the decline in the number of young people's abortions has also been influenced by the introduction of free contraception in many welfare regions," THL wrote in a report...
Under the 2022 liberalisation, Finland from September 2023 stopped requiring women to give a reason for having an abortion, making it available upon a pregnant person's request during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
[Note: That's actually not a very long window for abortion! Many conservative states in the US have actually instituted 12-week bans, and it's caused terrible upheaval and limits to medical services. Sounds like Finland should liberalize further, imho! Still, important progress!]
THL said it was too early to conclude whether the legislative change, which took effect last year, will have an impact on the number of abortions."

The number of white, ostensibly liberal male political pundits insisting that elections in the Biden/post-Dobbs era are just Completely Unpredictable and Wild sure is something, huh.

Lady, I am one of those evil elective-abortion-having women. I'm happy I did it, and I'm proud of it. If I hadn't I'd have ended up stuck to a pathetic man while trying to provide for a child on poverty wages. One of the best decisions I ever made was to terminate. Now when my ex sends me weird messages I can laugh about it and ignore him because there is no child we share between us that I'd be obligated to interact with him over.
That is exactly what I mean by men controlling women through our reproductive abilities. Rape and lack of care for maternal health are just the worst of it, not the extent. So no, making exceptions for those are not good enough.
Not that it works anyway. Women are already dying in places that claim to make exceptions for the life of the mother. And regarding rape victims, what, are you going to take every rape victim at her word? Hardly anyone does that now. Why would they do it when they can just say she's lying in order to not be pregnant? And if it's really about "pro-life" why would you even make a rape exception if it's not actually just about punishing and controlling women?
pro life women sound off
(they say that pro life is a misogynistic position to hold and I want to prove that it's not just Men Trying To Control Women yk)

Okay, all women everywhere?
Stop having sex with men immediately. No more. Not for at least the next four years.
At the very least, no sex with men who have even the slightest chance of getting you pregnant. It’s not worth the risk anymore.
Even if he’s claimed to have gotten a vasectomy, get that shit in writing. I’m talking medical records.
And if you’re ‘dating’ the type of man who will physically threaten or emotionally manipulate you into intercourse, knowing the risks right now.
You have access to everything he eats and drinks.
You think I’m joking. I’m not.
