The German artist Wols (1913-51), born Alfred Otto Wolfgang Schulze in Berlin, is one of my personal favorites. His role as intermediary between the French and German art scene before, during and after WWII is fascinating, just as well as his importance for the development of the Informel in Germany. Wols' biography alone would make for a thrilling novel but his artistic development is no less interesting: although primarily associated with his late lyrical and abstract works it shouldn't be ignored that he also was a keen photographer and illustrator.

In 1989 the Kunsthaus Zürich dedicated a large retrospective to the multi-faceted work of Wols and the accompanying catalogue, published by Benteli, still remains a major reference to the artist. It collects works from all of Wols' work phases as well as expert essays elaborating on the artist's life, the qualities of his paintings and his highly individual approach towards photography. Taken together these features make the catalogue a profound and indispensable starting point for any further research into the fascinating cosmos of Wols.

Pssst, I need some lore about Sun'tan's relationship with his family! Does he get along with his brothers? How does it feel to be the youngest of ten? Are they good boys and listen to their mum (who deserves a prize for giving birth to and raising so many kids)? Got any embarrassing fun facts from their family life? =^^=

He and his ten brothers make together a fearsome group of Gridanian bandits miqo'te warriors!

With the oldest brother Sun'a as the leader. Most of the brothers are much older than Sun'tan and had their own dealings to attend to most of the time. But they still spend at least some time with little Tan.

They would always ruffle his hair (cause it was sooo soft) which would annoy Sun'tan tremendously when he started to care for his haircut every morning!!

They taught him how to hunt, how to forage, how to defend oneself against some shifty grand company agents guys looking for a fight.

But most importantly - How to talk to ★Ladies★

Zi told him that he shouldn't talk too much, just smile and nod. Folks will think you're cool and mysterious. Girls love that!

Sun'tan took it to heart since...but he worries that it's part of his brand now...

They also told him to never fuck with Nunh's. To keep so many women around you need to be as badass as Sun'a!

Sun'tan still dreams how cool it would be to steal some Nunh's harem. Or at least get to know some ladies from one better...

Most of his childhood Sun'tan spended with his 9th brother Sun'zi and 4th brother Sun'sae. Sae was always very caring towards youngest of the bunch. As a kid while walking together, he saw a moogle once! He didn't know at a time it was a moogle and not just a...fluffy flying lump thing? Zi didn't believe him >:C But he did! Sae didn't see it either, but he believed that Tan had seen it. Sun'tan still remembers this moment fondly.

And Mom...well, she was coming and going all the time. Many times to come back after many months with a new baby brother. Until she brought Tan...

She never came back since.

But they told him all about her! She was an adventurer, but more of a free spirit than those from grand companies. She traveled far beyond Eorzea!

And now Sun'tan does it too!

When Tan decided to leave, all bros were worried about him. He didn't really bring or learn how to use any weapons... But Tan was confident he'll be fine! In case of anything he has his fists! There was still an uproar. But Sun'a looked at him and gave one of his silent nods.

Silent nods are very cool, Tan is still perfecting his.
