I apologize that this is so late, I’ve been incredibly busy with work and school. I chose 2012!Donnie for this ask, so I hope that’s alright. And Anon, I am ALWAYS down to write some fluff. I had a good time writing this, so I hope you enjoy!

Donnie has always thought of himself as observant. Lucky? Not so much.

So when his s/o entered his life, completely by chance, he considered himself the luckiest turtle alive. It was a few months ago and the Purple Dragons were up to no good again. This time they thought it would be a good idea to corner someone into an alley and mug them. Donnie and Mikey were the ones on patrol that night and when they heard the scuffle they jumped into action.

It didn't take long for the younger turtles to deal with the Purple Dragons. A couple of punches here, a couple of kicks there and they were down for the count. S/o peeled himself from the wll he had been thrown and pinned against just a few moments prior and fixed up his jacket.

As if it was a replay of when he first met April, Donnie didn't hesitate to step out of the shadows and check on the person they just rescued. Mikey took notice and quickly grabbed his arm. "Dude, what are you doing? You know we can't be seen!" the youngest turtle whispered, slightly panicked. Donnie just shrugged him off and walked over.

S/o's eyes went wide with shock. Was that... a turtle? With a really long stick? What was happening? "Are you... Um, alright?" Donnie asked gently.

"Y-Yeah..." S/o replied. "You're a turtle." Donnie chuckled a little nervously. "That's so cool." Well that certainly caught him off guard. He was... cool? "Cool" was an adjective saved for Leo or Raph, but certainly not for him. Introductions were had and friendships were made that night. Were Leo and Raph mad when he brought s/o down to the lair for the first time? Yeah, they were, but it was worth it.

Cut to a few months later, and the relationship between Donnie and s/o quickly blossomed into a relationship. Both of them had been so nervous to confess their shared feelings towards each other, but when they a huge weight was lifted off their shoulders. Over the course of their relationship Donnie couldn't help but pick up on the small things s/o did. How he would sometimes chew the end of his pencil when he was lost in thought or how he would bounce his leg while working on an assignment for school.

But today was a bit different. Something was... off. S/o was much quieter and withdrawn than usual when they entered the lab to sit with him while Donnie worked on his project for the day. He seemed distracted too, as if something was on his mind. Donnie set down the took he was using and flipped up his visor. "Are you feeling okay?" Donnie asked with concern.

"Yeah, everything's fine..." S/o replied quietly. He was focused on picking at the hole in his jeans that had ripped open over his knees. All the buzzers went off in Donnie's head and he wheeled his chair over to sit directly in front of him.

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked, softness in his voice.

"I... I just need a hug right now. Like a really tight one."

Donnie smiled. "I can definitely do that for you," he said as he gently pulled s/o out of his chair and onto his lap, giving him a nice tight squeeze. He could feel all the muscles in s/o's body relax as if one ton weights had been magically transfigured into feathers and floated away.

"Thanks Dee..." S/o said, kissing his cheek. If turtles could blush he absolutely would be, a big smile plastered on the purple clad turtle's face.
