"Hey. You're one of the raiders, right?" Vi caught up to the woman as fast as her legs allowed her, and stopped a couple of feet short of her. News traveled in Redwood, so the addition to Ike's raider team had made rounds alreaady. And while Vi wasn't all that familiar with the many new faces that'd made their way into Redwood, she was pretty sure she'd bet right.

"I'm Vi. I'm the mechanic around here. You're... Cat, right?" That's what she'd heard people call her, at least. A nickname. "I need something from out the walls, and figured I'd ask you since you were walking by. Some of the rooms in the school aren't heating properly, and I don't got the parts. You up for the job?"

"This is gonna take some getting used to for you." The statement was obvious but Ike felt like making it anyhow, as he and Cat swung along the rubbly road running alongside the broken-up main freeway. The snow was low if they stuck near the tree cover, and this was only a recon mission anyhow on a hunch of Ike's and a few aborted attempts to make it out to this destination proper. "Jobs like this that don't take a fight as a given."

Not that there hadn't been more mild tasks as a Reaver, but that wasn't the norm. For a scavenger group, fighting wasn't something to be avoided whenever possible. Redwood operated on entirely different principles.

"You're gonna like this place, though," Ike promised, criss-crossing in the snow to loop his tracks over Cat's tiny, precise ones. "I can pretty much guarantee you've never been in a place like it. Buuuuuuut at the same time -- some of it might seem pret-ty familiar!" He cackled at his entirely unhelpful hint, reaching up to grab a pinecone off a branch as he passed.
