cj ↔ jemma
location: changing room @ the pool
time frame: mid morning
@syljem
Chandler would be lying to herself if she said that she didn't catch herself eyeing Jemma from across the pool multiple times while they both worked out. Even though they were in completely separate lanes of the pool, CJ was stunned by the way Jemma flew through the water so smoothly. She just did it because it was a good change of pace but for the other it just looked so natural. Hopping into a quick shower post work-out, she saw Jemma waiting to go next as soon as she got out. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize anyone was waiting." She tightened the towel around her, "Looking good out there," CJ complimented.

'Bonnie Langford has returned earlier than expected to Doctor Who, with the iconic companion making an appearance in The Giggle!
The actress first appeared as Melanie Bush in 1986, alongside Colin Baker's Sixth Doctor, staying on for part of Sylvester McCoy's run as the Seventh Doctor before leaving in 1987.
She later returned for a cameo in Jodie Whittaker's final episode, The Power of the Doctor, last year, and it was announced that she's going to join Ncuti Gatwa during his first season as the Fifteenth Doctor.
However, we didn't have to wait that long to see her back in action – Mel rocked up in the third 60th anniversary special, The Giggle, now working at UNIT with Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave).
As David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor enters UNIT HQ, Mel hands him some papers – and the Doctor almost misses her, before doing a double take.
"Oh, no way! That is the best news. Melanie, hello!" he says, with the pair catching up later in the episode and Mel sharing some more details about her life. After all, a lot of time has passed since she left to travel with Sabalom Glitz on board the Nosferatu II in Dragonfire.
She says: "I travelled the stars. Good old Sabalom Glitz, he lived 'til he was 101. Died falling over a whisky bottle - it was the perfect way to go. He had this great big Viking funeral and I thought, 'Time to go home'. So I got a lift off a zingo and came back to Earth.
"And then I had to face up to the one thing I'd been running away from – I've got nothing. My family are all gone. Remember? But then Kate offered me a job and here I am!"
McCoy previously opened up to RadioTimes.com about Bonnie's initial exit from the show, saying he had to fight for her to have a proper exit scene.
He said: "She decided to leave. And they were going, 'That was it.' And I said, 'No you can't let her leave without a scene! We need a scene!' I was the Doctor... She was Colin [Baker's] companion, she's been with me, he and me are the same. You can't just say goodbye and close the door.
"They went and found a scene that I'd done a screen test for and they took that scene and they wrote it up to do. I remember that being an emotional moment and I was so pleased I argued to get that in, so that I could say goodbye."
The actor also admitted Langford was "underused" on the show – but that she was able to explore her character more in later Big Finish audio dramas.
Upon hearing the news of her return to Doctor Who, he told us: "How wonderful to hear Bonnie is coming back to Doctor Who.
"I’m sure she won’t mind my stating, when she was with me, the production underused Bonnie. She has shined brightly since in the Big Finish Doctor Who stories she recorded with Colin and I."
He added: "How brilliant it will be for us all to see how bright beautiful Bonnie can be in Who. She was bloody marvellous in EastEnders!"'

Jodie Whittaker regenerated in The Power of the Doctor episode of Doctor Who, which aired on October 23, 2022. The episode saw the Doctor's three oldest and most iconic enemies The Master (Sacha Dhawan), the Daleks, and the Cybermen (both voiced by Nicholas Briggs) to get rid of the Doctor by the Master taking over her life. The episode featured previous Doctors (David Bradley, Colin Baker, Peter Davison, Paul McGann, Sylvester McCoy, and Jo Martin) and companions Yaz (Mandip Gill), Dan (John Bishop), Ace (Sophie Aldred), Tegan (Janet Fielding), Graham (Bradley Walsh), Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford), Jo Jones (Katy Manning), and Ian Chesterton (William Russell, who set a world record for the longest gap in between televised appearances as the same character at 57 years). It also featured the return of UNIT with Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave). The episode marked the 300th episode, was part of the BBC's 100 year anniversary, and was the lead into the 60th Doctor Who anniversary. Whittaker regenerated into Doctor 14, played by David Tennant, who was the first Dr Who actor to play the character twice. ("The Power of the Doctor", Dr Who, TV Event)

Ha, smooth! Tennis is my game, and trust me, I’m much better at hitting aces than breaking hearts. As for positions, I’m all about the baseline—gotta keep the control and make the right moves. 😉 What about you?
did you say what sport you played besides heartbreaker? because i am trying to not stop short at the sight of you. what's your favorite position?

More The Power of the Doctor tidbits from LI Who panels before I forget.
Major spoilers to some of the big reveals in that story, so I'm gonna cut this, just in case.
The scenes with Ace and Tegan speaking to their hologram-Doctor were a bit complicated: their Doctor(s) weren't there on the day (and at any rate Syl couldn't have climbed up where Sophie was; that bit was a real cave),
Janet was stuck with a PA reading Peter's lines while she acted her heart out to a camera.
But Sophie asked if Barnaby Edwards could crawl out of the Dalek where he's usually ensconced and read Sylvester's lines. So he perched on a rock out of her line of sight and performed the scene with her, and with that she could "see" Sylvester in front of her. As you may know, I'm fond of Barnaby, as apparently is Sophie; so that made me go 🥺
Sophie drove to Cardiff from Birmingham to Cardiff the day Sylvester was recording his parts at his request to read HER lines, although she wasn't recording them. She did that, went back to the trailer, then said, "Hang on... I don't wanna go!" So she went back and asked if she could watch.
The director soon asked her— saying she certainly could refuse! — if she would mind reading some of the other parts. "Rather!" She wound up "Sitting on that rock, being all the Doctors, and Jodie would come in and do her bit!" She said Janet and (I think?) Jemma were there for part of the day as well, so it turned into a sort of Doctor Who convention, especially because a lot of the crew themselves were fans.
Oh right. When she and Janet FIRST arrived... first of all a lot of the crew was too young to have seen them, so they were surprised at the warm welcome. But also, they were invited to enter the TARDIS before anyone else. Because you really do enter it through that door. And so Janet and Sophie went in first and got to play with the console. "You could actually push the buttons!" "When you moved a control, it didn't break off in your hand!" Janet: "I had TARDIS Envy."
A fan asked Janet how Tegan survived the fall, saying that was the one thing she didn't understand in that special. Janet: "The one thing!?"
Sophie's husband knew, but her sons didn't. Except one asked why she was going to Cardiff SO MUCH to film Blu-Ray extras. "You really want me to tell you?" "No, I don't want to know!" The second son almost caught on: "Mom, why is Ace's jacket not in its usual place in your closet?" "I've loaned it to someone." (Not a lie, it was with the costume designer in Cardiff.)
Sophie keeps some bits of Dalek she busted plus the jacket. Also that gorgeous painting from Ghost Light, although she had to find a new frame since the BBC kept that, It's in her guest room, and people assume it's an ancestor!
Janet grumbled at Sophie wanting to be an action hero (she was hoping to rice s motorcycle since she missed out doing it on TV before but was thrilled at the parachute jump). Janet's knees were not happy with running up and down stairs (my arthritis had noticed that). They both had doubles, but Sophie insisted on doing everything; she was having far too much fun.
Both of them were positively gushing about Sacha Dhawan's acting and his Master being "utterly unhinged." A bit of a challenge for them, since they're used to acting with rehearsals, whereas now one just meets the other actors, may do a quick bit of blocking for the camera, then go, and you simply have to respond via improv with no idea what the other actors are planning. He altered his performance slightly every take, giving the director different things to play with.
As I mentioned in another post, Janet was worried because she hadn't acted in 35 years (with Big Finish they have scripts in front of them) and wasn't sure she could memorize. She flubbed the first line, let out "an Australian expletive" and Jodie said "I'm going to like you."
The director kept pushing Janet to make her initial confrontation with the Doctor more angry/cranky. Every time she did it, he'd say "more" and she'd ramp it up a notch. She was a little worried about it, but in the theater Tegan's cranky lines got laughter and applause, which relieved her, because she always thought Tegan was rather funny.
The companion group gathering was a joy. Katy sailed in with carrot cake. Originally there was supposed to be a laptop on the empty chair with some othet companions. Sophie liked fans' suggestion it was for Sarah Jane.
William Russell is really struggling with dementia. His daughter brought him, and the "family" of companions kind of looked after him. He got stuck apologizing over and over after spilling his drink, but John Bishop sat down with him and repeated his lines with him to help him through. (It sounds to me like there may have been another that was cut.)
Jodie didn't have any scenes that day, she just couldn't stay away. (there's a bts group photo with her.)

JEMMA SYLVESTER
☆ FULL NAME: Jemma Sue Sylvester ☆ GENDER: Ciswoman ☆ PRONOUNS: She/They ☆ AGE: 27 (July 9th, 1997) ☆ BIRTH ORDER: Third ☆ TYPE: Adopted sibling; solo (open to twin) ☆ HOMETOWN: Cleveland, Ohio ☆ JOB: Lifeguard ☆ SCHOOL: Junior, Majoring in Marine Biology ☆ SEXUALITY: Polyamorous/Pansexual ☆ FACECLAIM: Dove Cameron
ABOUT JEMMA
The most seen that Jemma has felt in her entire life was when Ryan Gosling (as Ken) said that his job was Beach. (It was also when he thirsted after Margot Robbie the entire movie, because same). Jemma Sylvester, theoretically, should have been Sue's perfect child, the carbon copy of Susan Sue-Ann Sylvester, but alas, like Thomas Edison trying to make the lightbulb, she accidentally set her house on fire once. Jemma has never had a complex about being adopted. Her mom had a teenage pregnancy and honestly, had she been alive at the time, Jemma would have told her pal to give the baby up for adoption, too. If her mom's prefrontal cortex wasn't fully formed yet, there was no way that Jemma could have grown up into the silly, hilarious, and pretty young woman that she is, today. Childhood was relatively easy for Jemma, who always knew that she was in the best set of circumstances, even if Sue made her run laps every single morning to build character. In a lot of ways, Jemma knew that Sue meant well, and only wanted her daughter to be The Best, and Jemma never really minded it. Growing up in cheerleading was a lot of fun, and Jemma very quickly understood her athletic prowess, but things really changed for her when she joined the swim team in middle school. Jemma was compared, literally, to a fish, and all of her dreams of playing mermaids as a kid became reality. She was a far better swimmer than she was a cheerleader, and Jemma quickly realized that in being a Great Swimmer she was in turn being a Shitty Daughter. Jemma would never insinuate that Sue stopped caring about her once she became a champion swimmer, but Jemma became pretty desperate for her mom's attention and went too hard. She had to be the best-- the fastest, the prettiest, swim the hardest-- everything. She couldn't sustain it for very long, really, and eventually came crashing down very publicly at a swim meet. But, Sylvesters are not failures, and so Jemma was sent to a relaxation facility to get her head back on straight and then come out a winner again. Jemma was sent to the coast, and she found her true love and passion in animal rights. Literally save the whales. And the turtles. And Beach Ken.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
Sue Sylvester is many things. A world-renowned cheerleading coach. Owner of one of the highest-grossing athleisure brands with brick-and-mortar stores in over 17 counties plus Greenland. Founder of multiple organizations dedicated to providing resources and education on Downs Syndrome. A serial lawsuit-sender (a Sue-er, if you will). And, the title she holds in the fifth highest regard, a mother. Of course she couldn’t put her career on hold for the nine months it took to properly cook a baby, so for most of her children she went the adoption route. Much quicker that way, although it did give her the brilliant idea to add maternity tracksuits to Sue-perStar Athleisure’s line. Don’t get it twisted, though. Although few men have been worthy of fertilizing her award-winning uterus, Sue has had her fair share of relationships. Sure they all ended in her husbands mysteriously dying by unknown causes with her as the sole beneficiary. But the cops can’t prove anything, and she’s successfully shut down all the Reddits dedicated to the conspiracies, so mind your business. There are also rumors that Sue’s hoard of children were taken in as a stunt to raise her public image, but anyone who has actually spoken to the family knows that to be false. It’s the one rumor Sue has never cared to clear up because, yet again, people need to mind their business.

This seems like a lot of personal information to share with strangers. Ut you know, good luck on your journey or whatever.
Okay, um. Hello. I know I've been pretty MIA this past year, and I'm really sorry to all the friends and my family who I've been neglecting. It's been a very hard time for me, but there's some good news. I recently got a therapist, and she's helped me understand I need people in my life, not just birds.
So I'm putting myself out there again. Hello to new friends and old, I promise I'll be better.
