Going to a coffee shop in the morning, especially a coffee shop on campus, always meant battling against the crowds for a simple double shot of espresso in her cold brew. And once you had that coffee in your hands, good luck finding a table or even a place to sit. It was impossible. Taking a lap around the shop she spotted an empty seat but there was a woman already sitting at the table so she decided to be brave and ask to join. "Hi, I'm so sorry if this is bothering you, but do you mind if I sit here?" She questioned, "I've been circling for a seat for like 10 minutes," CJ laughed nervously at the beautiful woman in front of her.

Pulling up to the animal shelter, Shep knew he was going to have to tough it out if it meant he wasn't going to adopt a pet today. He didn't need that, but Charlie, well he did. And that's what today was all about - getting the perfect pet for his best friend...for when he wasn't around. "Charlie!" He called out when he saw the other get out of his car. Putting his arm around his shoulder he pulled him in. "You ready to find the best damn dog we can?" Shep asked with a bright grin.

Shep did what he could to keep the conversation moving he didn't want to make it all about him, but it was better than their mom making it about their father instead. He knew if he took some of the heat it would help put Stacey at ease. Smiling with his lips pursed together when they agreed how happy they were for him, he took a sip of his sweet tea eyeing his sister. Yep, she was definitely uncomfortable. "Oh Ma...you know Stace's dating life is none of my business. I'm sure when she finds the right one you'll be in the loop like the rest of us."

"Shepherd, you're her brother," her voice was stern, "I do expect you to keep an eye on her and vet any of those prospective dates." She didn't need another nightmare relationship to pull their family apart. "As for you little lady, just don't go dating any strange fifty year old men. Lord knows what that girl saw in your father except his money, that gold digger. You, my dear, are a thousand times the woman she is."

Stacey couldn't help but roll her eyes. She didn't really like Bree, and definitely did not approve of the PR relationship. Relationships should be real connections between people who care about each other, not these fake situations that were always messy and never amounted to anything but pain. But she didn't say anything, she always kept quiet. She was happy that her brother was still sober though, that was important to her. But then her smile fades as her mother talks about her father. Great. Here we go.

"We're all so happy for you." Mary gushed again as she waved the waitress over. She looked at Stacey and poked her hand. "We're all happy for your brother, right?" She raised an eyebrow at her daughter. As the waitress arrived they all ordered and Mary took a sip of the coffee she'd been given. "Any relationship news for you?" She now asked Stacey. "You'd tell me if this one finally finds someone right?" Now addressing Shepherd. She just wanted all her kids to be happy and have much better relationships than she did.

Chandler would be lying to herself if she said that she didn't catch herself eyeing Jemma from across the pool multiple times while they both worked out. Even though they were in completely separate lanes of the pool, CJ was stunned by the way Jemma flew through the water so smoothly. She just did it because it was a good change of pace but for the other it just looked so natural. Hopping into a quick shower post work-out, she saw Jemma waiting to go next as soon as she got out. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize anyone was waiting." She tightened the towel around her, "Looking good out there," CJ complimented.

"I hope you like pizza because that's literally the only thing I've been craving for days," Shep said as he approached Charlie who was already sitting out on the grass. Placing the pizza box down on the blanket he also grabbed two soda's out of his pocket. "Sorry if they're a little luke warm," he laughed before taking a seat next to him, "How ya been?"

"Who am I to argue with that," She shrugged. It was the truth, though things may have ended Emma had been nothing but gracious and kind to her. And somehow was still there to support her, it took a big person to do that, even if Emma played it off as a joke. "I-" she paused to take a breath, laughing as the other played at her side, "You make me nervous!" She covered her face with her hands. "You're not being dumb, kissing you..." a sigh of fondness came out. CJ pushed a piece of Emma's hair behind her ear, "Kissing you is amazing." And she would be lying to herself if she said she didn't miss it. Because she didn't even realize she was closing the gap between them.

If there was anything Emma knew from her time with CJ, it was what she was like when she was nervous. She had always found it charming. Adorable, even. "I'd say I'm a great friend, actually. I'm incredibly, really." She chuckled, though, really - she did care deeply for CJ, their past relationship aside. She cherished their friendship, of course, but there was always something still lingering there. Whether it be physical or something else, she didn't know. Emma had been too afraid to dig that deep in awhile - ever since she found Sage's keys on the counter. "You're not nervous, are you?" Emma teased, tickling CJ's sides. "I don't know if you remember correctly, but kissing me isn't so bad." She took a few more sips of her lemonade and then turned her body completely towards CJ. "Seriously, though. We can just talk. I'm just being dumb."
