although I've enjoyed stories that went down that route before, I can't see jason & talia's relationship in the comic as surrogate mother and son. I don't think the reading came completely out of the blue (I still have this edit of the pietà cover in lost days #2 as my background pic lol. that's some culturally ingrained imagery! although given the issue it precedes, I wonder if it was more of a hint to antichrist!jason lmfao), and can see how lost days #1 would inspire it (although the same events in batman annual #25 end with talia kissing jason after the pit... and I read that first because lost days wasn't out yet when I was catching up in my jason reading, way back when. lost days erases this moment and I do prefer it that version though. that moment, at that time, made no sense).
but after that first issue that's not what I see in the run. jason's certainly not in the market for a parental figure, and he wouldn't have responded well to talia, had she approached him as one (and at this point, talia was very much about finding the right approach to manage jason... because jason had attempted to kill bruce -the comic attributes this to temporary psychopathy but winnick and I differ on this one-. and this didn't happen only because jason decided not to go through his plan at the last moment. ymmv at to why). this reading comes from a mix of things in fanon, but one of them is literally "well she's bruce's love interest and he's bruce's kid sooooo", and I just don't vibe with that, basically.
reading talia's first appearances and realising she's meant to be close to dick's age also compounded my own interpretation of talia's dynamics, sometimes for the worse sometimes for the better, but it's a canon detail that just feels so fitting for the talia comics I've read that now I'd struggle to see her differently, when beforehand I really hadn't thought about her age. this way, they're not exactly peers (dick seems around 4-6 years older than jason in new earth, ymmv), and I usually land on talia being a couple years older than dick. but this colours how I interpret their dynamic, too. how I think they'd see it, in particular.
since I'm talking about the nature of their relationship I do have to mention That Scene. very contentious and I do get why (I do not care for any m/f/m triangle dc has ever tried to pull with the bats, especially bruce vs. dick-slash-jason). but fandom either sees this as "talia, a much older woman, statutory raped jason, a teenager" (jason in the last issue of lost days and in utrh looks very much in his twenties), OR "I've decided talia is jason's mother figure, and I'm -with good reason!- tired of how often she's villianised, so I just Don't See It" [insert mariah carey's i can't read suddenly.gif], as thought there's no other possible interpretation.
and the way I see it is. it's not a Good Thing to happen, nor is it written with that intention! the characters are NOT in a good place and they're NOT making wise, healthy choices lol. and it's something that sidetracks what could've become a really interesting, closer friendship & alliance (I want them to be friends and allies sooooo badly lol. I think they'd work so well!! there's reblogs in my queue about it!!). but I don't see it as something to completely handwave if I'm writing new earth canon; just something to tackle head on, if I ever write about them after this period beyond having it as a secondary dynamic (which I plan to do, but that's another story).
ironically, these ramblings came to me because I'm developing their dynamic in a WIP for a different canon (the young justice cartoon. for reference, the ages there are: Talia, 1984; Jason, 1999; Damian, 2018), and rn if you asked me if they have a surrogate mother-son relationship in it my answer would be a solid... maaaaaaaybe? LOL. if they end up like that, it'll be with MASSIVE ammounts of spousification, though. which is how I see any parental relationship involving jason going, outside of 80s!bruce & jason, to be honest.

IBO reference notes on . . . the battle at the low-orbit station
So. According to Gundam Wiki (citing an official Twitter message that's cited in turn without a link on an English-language message board), the shoulder-mounted bazooka that Akihiro uses in his second deployment in the Graze Custom was acquired during the battle in Mars orbit that forms the bulk episode 5, 'Beyond the Red Sky', when Tekkadan manage to run rings around Colonel Coral Conrad and shady trader Orcus (remember Orcus?). This struck me as rather curious, since I couldn't remember a point in that fight where it would have made sense for anybody to mug a Graze for its weaponry, much less a bazooka-equipped Graze actually appearing among the Gjallarhorn forces.
Being a diligent sort of obsessive, I decided to go back and watch the episode in full, to check my memory. This led to noting a number of (to me) interesting things and since nobody can stop me, I'm going to jot them down here.
First up, the Graze contingent for this episode mostly consists of the rather nice blue models labelled alternatively in secondary material as the 'Ares type' or 'space type'. The latter seems the most useful term since we see this livery repeat at various other locations later on, most significantly as part of the Dort Colony garrison and Gaelio's intercept squadron in Earth orbit. We can assume this is the general-purpose colours for Gjallarhorn 'suits operating in space, outside of elite units like the Arianrhod Fleet or those under the Seven Stars direct control (e.g. the yellow/gold versions the Issues use in Urdr Hunt).
Like a lot of the Graze's design, this seems to be a callback to the Leos from Gundam Wing, which featured a similar green/indigo distinction for ground/space (although space Leos are much more purple).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This episode is the series' first major space battle and it showcases some brilliant shot composition. There's so much to love about how this fight is story-boarded, from the mobile suits flying at weird angles to one another, to the way in-cockpit views are used.
The right-hand image here is from the perspective of Ein Dalton's Graze, and his appearance demonstrates a small detail that's easy to miss if you haven't poured over the the concept art. While this is still the green Graze that Ein was piloting in the opening episodes (its arm having been replaced in the meantime), the waist-mounted boosters have been swapped for blue shoulder-mounted units, like the rest of the squadron deployed from the Ares space station.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is because the space boosters are slightly different from the ground-use ones, featuring extra vernier jets. However, I'm not sure the gaps for those ought to have been drawn in the left screenshot here, since they're supposed to be at right angles to the main thrusters. You can see the correct rendering on the left, below. In a great bit of continuity, Ein is later shown assisting this particular Graze after it's lost one of its boosters. Good boy! (For all that he turned out to be a mite unbalanced, Ein begins as a very diligent soldier.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oddly enough given its ubiquity in the merchandising, the shot on the right will be the last time the green Mars-branch Graze is seen in action in the show. After this, Ein switches to using Gaelio's Schwalbe Graze, and opposition to Tekkadan comes from different Gjallarhorn units using other colour schemes. The Arianrhod Grazes that will become the mandated 'green enemy type' for Season 2 are a notably different shade and colour layout (left), and the next and final time the 'Mars green' Graze appears, it will be in the rather ignoble aftermath of Hashmal's rampage across the Chryse Planatia (right).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[EDIT: I belatedly realised the above is not quite true: Mars-green Grazes do in fact participate in the final battle of the show against Mikazuki and Akihiro, and the machine Iok commandeers after McGillis wrecks his custom model is painted in these colours. So that's actually a nice bookending. I was misremembering because most of the action is handled by the Graze Schild variants.]
Anyway, that's enough Graze appreciation.
Time for some blatant Eugene Sevenstark propaganda.
Tumblr media
Up to this point in the show, Eugene has been positioned as something between a joke character and the obligatory Doubting Thomas. He's clearly got an ego, clearly has a chip on his shoulder regarding Orga's leadership, and his main contribution to a battle previously has been to run away (very effectively, saving Orga's life in the process, but still).
Then, with Gjallarhorn and Orcus bearing down on Tekkadan's spacehsip, Orga comes up with a plan to use a nearby mining asteroid to perform an insanely sharp handbrake turn in order to gain altitude over their pursuers. This involves launching an anchor into the asteroid and sling-shotting the Isaribi through a tight orbit before using an explosive charge to blow the anchor and release them. Given the speed with which this must be enacted, the charge has to be placed manually, using a mobile worker. Orga originally intends to do this himself but Eugene brashly volunteers in his place, saying that as leader, he shouldn't be doing everything himself and grumbling that the others let Orga have his way far too easily.
Both these will be important charaterisation for later.
What I want to talk about, however, is how this manoeuvre goes off. It starts reasonably enough, with the anchor being fired into the rock and Eugene racing down the cable to, uh, shoulder-barge the bomb into position.
Tumblr media
He shoots the charge and it detonates, but the anchor struck deeper than expected and doesn't come free. Now, based on past expectations, one might expect Eugene to panic over this. He's certainly not seemed especially level-headed up to now, and perhaps even a bit of a paper-tiger.
Instead, he backflips the mobile worker to launch his fuel tank at the recalcitrant anchor.
Tumblr media
I just -- this is the first time we have seen any of these boys operating in space and he just . . . does that. Split second decision-making, zero-g environment, no problem. And it works! The extra blast from the tank frees the anchor.
Tumblr media
It's brilliantly rendered too, with Eugene's shots going wide for a long few seconds before he finally gets the range and blows the tank.
If that wasn't enough, we then get a moment of 'oh shit, what happened to Eugene?' as the screen whites out, the cable snaking in silhouette, before coming around again to show that he's managed to latch on to the anchor to ride it back to the Isaribi.
Tumblr media
Not only is this a fantastic action sequence, showcasing the weight and physical interaction that IBO excels at, and not only does it cement Eugene's position as 'the guy you really want flying your spaceship', it also serves as excellent set-up for where his griping about Orga's leadership is eventually going to go. Because yes, Eugene complains about Orga charging ahead and raises some legitimate objections. But at the same time, he is fully prepared to take incredibly risky actions on Orga's say-so, both recognising the strategy is sound and trusting Orga enough to follow his lead regardless of personal friction.
This will pay off later in perhaps the worst way it could, when Eugene proves incapable of properly pulling Orga up on his 'I must do everything' tendencies until it's much too late, precisely because of this trust. For now, it's just a wonderful piece of showing-against-telling, highlighting that Eugene is a true part of the team -- whatever he says -- and a damn skilled one at that.
Also, and this is me stretching for interesting reads, but the fact he is *this* good in a mobile worker and in zero-g in general despite being canonically not great during ground battles or when using mobile suits is something I place in the 'neurodivergent Eugene' column. I mean, if that's the right term when we're talking about fighting ability using a human/machine interface. Basically I think there's the basis to argue Eugene just copes better in space, where he can move any way he wants, rather than being stuck under gravity and following a human template. Partly this is inspired by how he gallops his mobile worker during the battle at the CGS base, as if he's trying to jump into the air to escape Orlis Stenja's attempt to kill him and Orga. Mostly, it's this scene, and what it shows us about Eugene's skill level once the gang gets off the ground.
What was I supposed to be talking about?
Oh right, Tekkadan swiping Gjallarhorn components. Well, this episode does give us the Saga of the Schwalbe Cables, as McGillis and Gaelio use their souped-up Grazes against Barbatos and its newly painted shoulders (those are bits of Orlis' Graze. RIP).
McGillis manages to snag Mikazuki's forearm quite soundly, forcing Mika to eject the armour from the frame to make his escape. Bye-bye weirdly out-of-place buckler.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This tussle between the two pilots prompts the beginning of their mutual respect in combat, as they each recognise the other's skill (with some lovely framing to boot).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Gaelio shouts a lot and generally makes a right nit of himself, also latching on to Barbatos and even making a good try at dragging it on to a lower orbit, before getting maced for his efforts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His grappling cable remains latched to Barbatos' leg afterwards and Mika will later use this self-same claw weapon during the fight with the Turbines in a couple of episodes' time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a slight animation snafu here, in that while the gauntlet from which the cable is launched is clearly still attached in the shot where we see Mika's mace hit Gaelio's Schwalbe Graze, it's missing from subsequent frames showing Barbatos on the Isaribi's tail. However, the intention is obviously supposed to be that the gauntlet remains connected, since it will replace the ejected forearm armour and be used to allow Mika to keep pace with Lafter's Hyakuri. This glitch aside, the connecting logic is extremely clear, as Tekkadan once more incorporate battlefield debris in place of missing parts of Barbatos' outer shell.
Speaking of continuity, this episode also establishes the unique nature of Ahab reactor signatures, not only by having Ein recognise the signal from Tekkadan's new Graze Custom as belonging to Crank Zent's Graze (see the second screenshot in this post) but also by showing one of McGillis' subordinates pattern-match Barbatos to an official database.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The entries here are fairly meaningless in terms of wider canon details but for posterity, here's a breakdown.
Barbatos aside, each frame number takes the form of a letter followed by a three, four or five digit number. Examples include 'E-978', 'R-3908' and 'C-09067'. These are shown to be equivalent to 'ASW-G-08', so presumably identify the specific frame/'suit. The second term appears to indicate the kind of mobile suit listed, since Barbatos' is 'GUNDAM TYPE'. Outside that, however, they don't accord with the more commonly used terms like Rodi, Graze or Geirail. We've instead got things like:
NORMAL WR-09
NORMAL PR
NORMAL 26 WW
NORMAL GERA
AUTO MUG
AUTO MUG 2
ANTI 809
And so on, with variations of these general formats. As I said, this isn't especially meaningful, though it does give us a code for Barbato's database entry (186.390.20) and, together with Ein's POV, establishes that Ahab signals take the form of bar graphs -- although, here at least, there is little in the graphics to indicate much difference between Crank's single-reactor Graze and the dual-reactor Gundam frame, a distinction described by the dialogue.
While we're on the subject of screens, we may as well take a look at the following two as well, which provide a little bit of additional world-building.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First we have the display from Orcus' ship, showing an overview of the battlefield. Interesting, it indicates Barbatos' frame code in full, suggesting this is broadcast as an IFF signal, which is rather funny given the extended search sequence that follows on Gjallarhorn's side.
We also see the Grazes in play identified using codes such as 'EB101', 'EB102', 'EB103' and so on. Now the Graze frame's model code is 'EB-06', indicating it is the sixth mobile suit Gjallarhorn have developed since the Calamity War (predecessor Geirail is EB-04). We can infer therefore that 'EB' is a standard designator for a Gjallarhorn 'suit, making it likely these are just generic IDs assigned from Orcus' perspective.
More interestingly, this screen picks out one of the structures in the vicinity of the battles as an 'orbital mass driver'. This is presumably the large satellite the shuttle skims past as it tries to evade the first three Grazes to come after Tekkadan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Together with the mining asteroid, this is gives us a brief indication of industry going on in Mars orbit. What exactly the mass driver is being used to launch and where is never made clear, although we are told that Mars' main export is the 'half metal' used to dampen Ahab reactor emissions, so it's plausible this forms some part in that. It's a pretty nice design at least, using the same spherical core as Gjallarhorn's space stations and the larger space dock, but with an unusual asymmetric rotating boom and a stationary rectangular module on the end.
The second screen shown above is the attitude control program running aboard the Schwalbe Grazes, shown as McGillis commentates about Gaelio's inability to hit Barbatos. I love how this highlights that standard mobile suits are doing a lot of computing in order to enact what their pilots want. This is something that's been made explicit in Gundam shows right from the very start, but it's rarely more than a passing detail. In Iron-Blooded Orphans, by contrast, it's part of the central conceit that the Alaya-Vijnana allows people to operate machinery much more effectively, by making it a direct extension of their bodies. Gaelio can't hit Mikazuki explicitly because his Schwalbe's software struggles to predict Barbatos' more instinctive movements. We see the program cycling through different patterns as it attempts to lock on, and might infer this must go both ways, with the program analysing an enemy and deploying a corresponding attack or defence response.
We've seen before that Barbatos moves far more fluidly than the Grazes; this nicely underlines the point and provides a bit of technobabble to quantify the advantage that will carry Tekkadan so far. Gjallarhorn's mobile suits appear more robotic because they are -- something with interesting implications given we eventually learn that an excessive degree of weaponry automation caused the Calamity War, and that will provide a moment of sharp dissonance when the Graze Ein appears during the season finale, fully emoting with human-like gestures.
Alas, in all this, we never do get any hint this is where Tekkadan acquire the bazooka, if that was indeed the intention all along. To be fair, we don't see what Akihiro is doing after a certain point in the fight, so there's plenty of room to posit a missing scene. But I have to say, from a continuity management perspective, I would personally have had them recover it after the ground battle in the opening two episodes. For one thing, the alternative shoulder armour is painted dark green, in line with the land-based Grazes rather than the detachment from Ares. For another, that initial battle is one Gjallarhorn soundly lose, as opposed to 'merely' failing to stop the Isaribi escaping. Wouldn't it have made slightly more sense for the boys to happen upon an abandoned equipment module once Gjallarhorn's mobile workers had cleared out?
It's a very minor detail; the bazooka isn't even especially plot-relevant (more 'let's sell more toys!' relevant; yes I am writing this while building the Graze Custom kit, why do you ask?). There's a much more obvious continuity problem in 'Beyond the Red Sky' that you might already be aware, where after being visibly winged by one of McGillis' shots, the sub and dub script have Mika say "that would've hit me," as if the bullet had missed (not quite sure if that's confusion caused by the original Japanese in some way?). But this is just a case of the script or versions of the script not keeping pace with the animation, or simply being ambiguous -- and anyway, it can be rescued as part of the point being made by assuming that since Mika hasn't yet adjusted to treating Barbatos' thrusters as an extension of his body, he's treating this hit as a near miss.
The bazooka thing stands out far more in an episode that otherwise effectively sets various things up or builds on already-established details. It's a case of something going unjustified in the text, which is quite unusual for materiel in this show. Usually, we can trace exactly where each of piece of military hardware the boys use has come from, highlighting the persistent through-line about how important logistics are in the fight for survival.
I'm not surprised there were queries about it at the time, and while the answer listed on Gundam Wiki is serviceable enough, it does still rely on finding a convenient void in the action, rather than being textually established.

Okay, I had a different idea for this precure oc originally, but Now I’ve gone the other way, and What If whole team of green precure?
Very VERY green precure.
Introducing:
Verdant Earth Precure:
Cure Crown (trees) (green & yellow)
Cure Rush (Lush) (Reeds, grasses) (green, dark blue & red-dy brown, but fluffy)
Cure Spring (flowers) (green, rainbow (flowers)
Cure Algae (bright green and blue. Bioluminescence)
Cure Rice (green and white. Snow like)
(Cure names have a secondary, athletic theme)
They are All green cures, with secondary colours.
Tumblr media
^^ I am probably going to tweak this design a little, maybe merge with some of my Cure Memory stuff for Cure Crown. But the whole team has this sort of outfit vibe. Deeply green, and very verdant. Lots of flower and leaf details.
Their fairies:
Dewdrop (beaver)
Sprout (fawn)
Boo (panda)
Bark (dog/ ‘wolf’. More like puppy. And secretly sealion)
Beri (berry/bury) (squirrel)
Enemy: Harvest
The forest fairies are escaping to Earth, to avoid an enemy taking over their world: Harvest. Unfortunately, the fairies powers are causing havoc on Earth, making the trees and creatures grow wild and attack people! The Verdant Earth cures need to save and reassure the scared fairies of the Forest kingdom, and work to save their world.
The five fairies are all part of the royal court, and determined to regather the scattered forest fairies. They each generate a Forest tome, and seed notes: The tome is the Verdant Earth cures transformation item, and the seed notes are generated from each forest fairy they save. Each collected seed note expands their power, as well as unlocking their more knowledge of some flora and fauna, and revealing more of what happened to the forest kingdom, scrap by scrap.
Minori: Cure Crown. First meets Dewdrop when she walks outside to find the tree in their garden has magically grown in the space of a few minutes (she walks into it). She spots Dewdrop, gives chase thinking it’s a Tanuki, and inadvertently learns she can talk when Dewdrop insists she’s neither a Tanuki or a beaver after Minori manages to drive away the enemies harassing her. They exchange words, Dewdrop asks Minori if she’s seen any other fairies, then leaves when the answer is no. Minori gives chase, wanting more explanations. Dewdrop is very surprised Minori is able to catch up. Offers her help. Is rejected. Enemy appears, Minori steps in to protect more forest fairies (Boo, Bark, Beri, and Sprout) and connects with Dewdrop to become a precure, Cure Crown. “The protection of the forest: Cure Crown!”
Jin: Cure Rush. Has a habit of rushing into things, often to her detriment. Often ends up overworking herself, or letting others down, and is beginning to become disheartened because of it. As a precure she learns to work together as part of a team. Is athletic enough to keep herself out of trouble at the start of a fight, but often ends up in trouble because she rushed in. “The waving reeds: Cure Rush!”
Mahiru: Cure Spring. Mahiru is the more delicate and skittish one of the group, but she can empathise with the scared fairies more as a result. She loves flowers, and wants to see more flowers bloom over the town. “Brightness of the blooming flowers: Cure Spring!”
Hotaru: Cure Algae. Painter, in more of a loud, chaotic, ‘loves making a mess when painting’ kinda way. A lot of people don’t understand her, but she loves the less loves aspects of life, and colour. Goes pond-dipping a lot. She is the bioluminescent cure. “The secret of natures lights: Cure Algae!” She oftens champions the underdog, and the little known heroes of the natural world. Her favorite animals are frogs.
Kanako: Cure Rice. Seems like the quiet cure. She struggles to speak up, but wants to say how she likes to hang out with the others. Likes making food, and talking about cooking. Seems to eat a lot through nerves, but gives the others a surprise when she really pushes them in a race: she might do a lot of things by herself, but she’s secretly really competitive, and manages to stammer out to Jin how she’s going to overtake her next time. Jin is looking forward to it. “The nourishment of nature’s foods: Cure Rice!”
Whole Team:
- as a team, they are fast runners. They don't really notice it until they get to an all-stars meet and outpace the next nearest precure team. Cure March is one of the few cures that can keep up with them.
- They're not the strongest fighters, but do a lot of protecting. And trying to stay out of trouble's range.
- They're also the only cure team with useable camouflage in their outfits. They can literally almost stand in front of a bush and not be spotted.
- They each have a bushy cloak/hair/other outfit element that seems to consistently have green+flowers on it. When they start saving the forest kingdom fairies, they seem to disappear into these cloaks, sometimes emerging from their Forest tomes (visiting) The cures don't ask about the logistics. Later, the cloaks turn out to be able to help transport them to the forest kingdom, and seem to be related to their mascot fairies.
- Most of their attacks have plant-related names
- They need their respective fairy mascots to connect with their forest tomes to transform. The fairies don't have to stay with the cure or the tome after, just to get it started. They usually stick around to help or give power-ups anyway. They will also hide in the cloaks for safety.
- They would (and do) get on famously with the heartcatch crew, especially Tsubomi, and Coupe.
- Dewdrop can't fly, but the other four fairies can.
- Harvest turns out to be trying to take all the resources of the Forest Kingdom, trying to cut down its trees and modernise it because the forest fairies refuse to let them do any developments or building there. Where the forest fairies have been causing havoc on Earth by their presence, the cures have to come to terms with the balance of nature and progress: that you can't always exclude one for the other (but kicking the fairies out of their own kingdom just for development and resource stripping is a big no.)

Crossy, where can I read your Forgotten Stones AU?
You're not gonna believe this. I accidentally deleted my blog a while back so the specific post I used to link to on my vids got obliterated. Let me see how much I can recite from memory. Here are all the OCs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On one of Blue Diamond's planets, Pink Diamond was allowed to try out a Kindergarten. It went well, so she moved on to Earth while the process was supervised by a Peridot and her team of Feldspar, which are generic little starter kit gems that are impossible to fuck up and pad out personnel teams (Corals pad out Quartz crews.)
Then the apocalypse happened!
Rock-"eating" microbes has completely disrupted the function of gems, shattering every single gem on the planet, including the ones still in the Kindergarten. Feldspar is one of a generic gaggle of Feldspars, made the only survivor because in a fight to escape she accidentally took Peridot's place in an isolation chamber until the microbes stopped breaking down gems like that.
The planet was put under quarantine, and Feldspar had no choice but to spend the next few thousands of years figuring out a way to reverse the damage to repair shattered gems using what little Diamond Oil she has at her disposal.
Tiger's Eye and Rutile are her sole successes, and it's not perfect; they tend to glitch, and the more fusions happen, the worse the glitches get. In this AU, Rutiles don't fuse into anything, they're a type of equipment for other gems that have radar features and such, so while Rutile glitches too, she's the only one that doesn't cause problems during fusions.
Feldspar found Coral slightly deeper than most injections, allowing her to be the only survivor out of all the Kindergartens, but also making her malformed, so she has the mind of a child. Literally. She has almost no pre-programming and has to learn everything manually.
Without Homeworld roles or staff to help with certain tasks, Rutile has taken over the job of a Bismuth with construction, and Tiger's Eye has become Steve Irwin wrangling crocs and forcing Feldspar to learn to treat organic life in her spare time, which, in combination with Coral's lack of programming, inspires her to create Elkhorn and Tridacna.
Elkhorn Coral and Tridacna Pearl are Feldspar's test models for using more organic life to increase the amount of working Gems on the planet, but she has no idea they've emerged, or that the quarantine of the planet has allowed sapient life to develop. Elkhorn Coral lives in a fishing village and retrieved Tridacna when she emerged. So they are both just fishing several miles away.
Tumblr media
The Movie video I did is actually a secondary AU, "what if they were all successfully picked up and Feldspar became a Diamond bootlicker only to realize Coral is considered Off Colour and got shattered for it, and her creations will no doubt soon follow".
It's not in the video, but Pink Pearl is one of the antagonists! In my head she has a villain song that's functionally like It's Over Isn't It (Reprise). Rutiles don't fuse into new gems so she fuses and unfuses with dozens of them to vastly improve her range and mobility and it's Circque Du Soleil in the reception room. I was so obsessed with her she was my blorbo supreme
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the whole of this setting was written in Season 4 i think?? (Not the movie AU that was a direct reaction to the complete series) Feldspar and Coral also have Steven Universe Future designs! Set in the movie universe. While previous designs make it distinct that they have no inherent allegiance to any diamond, there's no call to a diamond at all in their new designs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have been exiled back to their home planet to live a happy life of science with a thriving gem colony that protects the planet's organic life. In the years she spent in Homeworld Coral has improved her ability to collect data so she's spiritually a 14-year-old. When Steven comes to her for advice about his emotional instability she says "I exploded into light, remember? Anyway have you tried raising a child." And Steven says "the child is why you exploded." And Feldspar says "No comment."

The triforce..
Tumblr media
Power, red, related to fire, the godess Din, and the gorons.
Wisdom, blue, related to water, the godess Nayru, and the Zora.
Courage, related to wind, forest, lightning, the godess Farore, the kokiri and the rito.
The colours of the triforce are very deliberate.
Tumblr media
Look familiar? This is RGB, the primary colours of optical colour mixing. There are three additional colours from the triforce colours, and though it varies through the different games, I don't think these colours are too unfamiliar to us.
Magenta, represents shadow in ocarina of time.
Yellow represents lightning in tears of the kingdom, and could easily be switched out for the orange we see representing the sage of spirit in ocarina of time.
Cyan is a tricky one, but honestly I think that this is actually a better representation of water, because I think blue, aka wisdom, is more related to time.
I would probably categorize it like this:
Red = Fire
Blue = Time (or water)
Green = Forest(oot)/Wind(totk)
Magenta = Shadow(oot)/Spirit(totk)
Cyan = Water (or time)
Yellow = Spirit(oot)/Lightning(totk)
This would also place Fire and Water as opposites, which they technically are, so that fits well. But this doesn't actually really matter, because there are only three godesses, and by that I mean that these abilities of the secondary colours are contained within the three godesses!
I would suggest that the triforce of Power contains both Fire and Shadow(oot)/Spirit(totk), the triforce of Wisdom contains both Time and Water, and the triforce of courage contains both Forest(oot)/Wind(totk) as well as Spirit(oot)/Lightning(totk). This also fits very well because in botw/totk there are three types of elemental enemies: Fire, Ice (ice is just frozen water, remember), and Electricity. These abilities mirror the three dragons, and it's extremely clear that lightning belongs to Farore in a way.
Anyway, you probably understand what I'm building up towards, because you've noticed that there's something missing, haven't you? There's this thing where if you mix Red, Blue and Green, just like in the picture above, you get..
White light.
Okay so, I don't believe in the tetraforce, however..
Tumblr media
The thing is, in rgb, white isn't a primary colour. If we were talking about the primary colours of paint that would be CMY and if you mix them you get black, and white is the lack of colour, but now we're talking about RGB, in which white isn't the lack of colour but is Red, Blue and Green mixed together! This means that Hylia - the godess of light - could very well be seen as a godess but also not one of the main godesses, because she was created by the three godesses powers working together.
The three golden godesses also created two other things together; The planet which hyrule is a part of, as well as the triforce.
We have never actually seen Hylia exactly, so what if Hylia is.. kind of like mother earth? What if Hylia is the personification of the planet?
I was also thinking that Hylia could be the personification of the sun, However if the sun is a godess then it wouldn't be one, but be the three golden godesses together, because they are the ones who created the earth and gave it life, like a sun would, and Hylia would be more like a ray of sunshine sent by them to the planet. Every time we see the triforce itself, it is shining as if it's emitting light, which is extremely appropriate for it to do in this theory. So what if Hylia might be the triforce in a way that she is a misinterpration of a princess of sorts that once held the complete triforce inside her, like the kings of the fallen timeline, as well as zelda from breath of the wild.
I guess this series might be more symbolic than we think.
What do you think? Does any of this make sense? Feel free to add to the speculation!

a get to know you better meme
tagged by @zozobruh - Thank you! <333
do you make your bed? No. I do turn turn up the blanket so it can air out but that's it.
what's your favourite number? There's 3, and then 9, then 12, then 16 (but only because that's the day of the month I was born), then 21 (for non-SKAM reasons actually), then 27. 3 is the dominant theme. I like to do things in a set of three, but not compulsively. There's a bit of a system to and a whole story behind the numbers. I could go on a whole spiel. It also goes back to me playing around with words and syllables when I was around 8. I used to collect words with 9 letters.
what is your job? Don't have one.
If you could go back to school would you? What school? Elementary? No thanks. Also not secondary. Or night school. Regular school does not work for me, too autistic and the system too... well, a system. People are assholes, teachers included. Most of my schooling was done via distance learning and I definitely don't want to go back to that either. But also, I am attending school right now (vocational school) and I intend to further my education afterwards. I'd really like to learn how to properly draft and construct patterns and/or acquire the master craftsmen certificate in tailoring (or however you say meinen Meister machen).
can you parallel park? I don't have a license and I hope to make it through life without having to learn how to drive.
a job you had that would surprise people? None.
do you think aliens are real? Earth being the only inhabited place seems unlikely. Though I highly doubt they are how we have pictured alien life forms.
can you drive a manual car? If I did have a license, I'd be able to since that is the norm in Germany.
what's your guilty pleasure? I don't know... really bad smut? I have horrendous taste in that, I really do.
tattoos? I love them on other people, from a single or a few to lots of skin being covered, and all kinds of styles. But I don't have any myself and I don't think I ever will. I just couldn't be bothered. Way too indecisive and uncertain to decide on a design, and then the work put into researching which artists are the best, nevermind that I am scared of needles. And then afterwards it won't look exactly how I pictured it, especially after a few years or even decades. Oh, and the price! I do admire them on other people but I just don't think it's for me, too much hassle and not enough passion for it. (But if I would get tattos, I suspect I would get an Against Me! quote tattooed. Something from True Trans Soul Rebel. And an AJJ one.)
favourite colour? Dark blue.
favourite type of music? *panicked screaming* I listen to way too many artists (or sometimes just a single song) from all over the world and from all kinds of genres. And while there are genres I really like, I rarely will listen to more than a few representatives. But I can say that right now I really enjoy late Soviet/90s Siberian punk (Yanka Dyagileva and Egor Letov).
do you like puzzles? Yep. I don't know who but someone on tumblr got me into online puzzles last summer. (They did a Jeff puzzle.) I like those.
any phobias? No proper phobias.
favourite childhood sport? I didn't really do sports. In fact I hated sports, still do. Worst of all was school sports class, I had a stomach ache every the evening before. But my family was active and we regularly went swimming, rock climbing, hiking. I did horseback riding for several years but it was therapeutic.
do you talk to yourself? In my mind yes, but rarely out loud.
what movie(s) do you adore? I adore Latin American movies though I can't say I have seen too many. (Quemar las naves, María, llena eres de gracia and El cielo dividido are my favourites.) I enjoy Nordic comedies, not just with Mads Mikkelsen but I really do like those. (The last one I watched was Riders of Justice though I really wouldn't classify it as comedy. It has comedic elements.) I like movies with open, ambiguous endings, ones that leave you a bit unsatisfied, ruminating, on edge. When they linger. I don't like it when movies make it easy for me. And above all else I adore Astrid Lindgren movies. I feel like so many conversations I have lead to me mentioning how much I love them but it's true. I really, really do.
coffee or tea? I don't (can't?) drink coffie and when I drink tea, then not black (or any other proper tea) but herbal and spiced tea.
first thing you wanted to be growing up? I think a teacher? I adored and really looked up to my elementary school teacher. I loved German and correcting texts so I wanted to be like her.

I have a big first world problem, I have the idea you have the same issue. Where is all the colour? Why is it so hard to get something in anything other then black, white or gray? Give me this bright yellow, blue. Purple items!
oh yeah i relate sometimes when it comes to things i see in stores its all so boringgggg.
Not to break out the joker "society" rant, but its mostly because in modern society it's more preffered to not stand out. Wearing or buying the colors everyone else is makes you stand out less, be less "other" and requires less work than doing something percieved as different. This fear of standing out by breaking from societal norms happens in every society no matter the country or time perio, and it just so happens we're in a very boring and drab color period/location rn.
On the business side of things, most stores will carry "neutral" colors like the black/white spectrum and recently earth tones, because the average consumer will be drawn to something easy that blends with what they already have, rather than something they have to really think about fitting in with their life. From a business perspective its just not profitable to carry everything in every color so they sell things in the colors that are most likely to sell. That those colors are boring is secondary to the company. Especially big companies rely on the color trend of the moment, if you want something disconnected from the trend cycle (like purple, which is rarely in the color trends) you will have to look in smaller places. Not even per se super small indie shops or whatever, just like, anything that isnt H&M or like....ikea for your stuff.
That being said anyone who complains about like "oh color is dissapearing from the world" or specifically calls this an issue from the "western society" is talking out their ass. Especially that one dumb as fuck twitter thread i saw everyone reblog a few months ago
Tumblr media
^ this fucking graph. this is stupid and indicates nothing, why did you all reblog this and genuinely believe color is dissapearing from the world
Anyways if you want things in a specific color most sites will let you sort things by color so u can use that to quickly get rid of the sea of grey and beige tones. And again, color trends fluctuate around every 6 months, just wait until purple and yellow are mega trendy and then stock up
TLDR: business answer is its easier to sell things that are boring, philosophical answer is we live in a joker society where neutral tones just dominate the current cultural landscape

Another request related to Cult of Desire; I've got Masks that need designing! Father Zilot's is designed, but that leaves 11 masks undesigned and up for grabs, 2 of which are for Ed and Roy.
The masks are supposed to represent their wearer, obviously, through an animal, an element (like the Fire/Water/Earth/Wind types, not periodic table lol), primary and secondary colours, and a desire or pleasure-adjacent concept (usually sin-adjacent things like Greed or Lust, but things like Ambition or Devotion also count).
I have some ideas for Ed and Roy's masks (Like their animal + colours; Red and Gold Lion for Ed and Blue and Silver Dog for Roy, and Roy's element; Fire, obviously), but no concrete designs.
Obviously any design not created by me that I end up using will be credited to the actual creator, I'd just appreciate some assistance.

Hello beloved mutual @nunaco!!! You keep on talking abt the colours of the dragons and the connection to their riders through that and it is just. so fascinating. So I've decided I'm going to dissect that!! The Fire Nation draws many elements from Eastern culture, largely Chinese and Japanese culture, so I'm going to talk abt Western (for a base to work off of, as I am American and would like to see if Western culture had any influence), Chinese, and Japanese colour meanings!! In this context, Western means American interpretations & culture. Also, fair warning, Sozin's parts are longer than Roku's because Sozin is a very convoluted character and he's my Special Little Boy™. Everything is beneath the cut!
This is going to be done alphabetically, so we're going to start with China- Roku first and then Sozin. In Chinese culture, red means/represents yang energy ("active" energy), fire, good fortune, vitality, long life, happiness, success, and is also closely associated with marriage! We can see an obvious thing that is applicable to Roku right off the bat: fire, as he was born and raised in the Fire Nation. The only other thing that would be obvious would be long life, as Roku lived to be 70. Hilariously enough, there are quite a few things that aren't as applicable to Roku, such as success and good fortune, for reasons of the Eruption scene and what happened with Sozin after his death. The marriage part is somewhat applicable, since he did get married to Ta Min (our queen❤). We're going to... ignore... the secondary meaning of vitality and focus on its primary meaning—that being "the state of being strong and active"—and its connection with yang energy. Yang energy is the "active" principle, and is represented by the white colour in the Yinyang symbol, which also symbolises the moon (Tui) in Episodes 19-20 "The Siege of the North 1/2". Roku's thing was that he was active, but not where it was desperately needed. He tried to maintain his neutrality, but in doing that he ignored the warning signs in the Fire Nation, from Sozin, until the warning signs were warning sirens and blaring right in his face. He acted far too late in every circumstance with the Fire Nation. He was too late to prevent the colonies in the Earth Kingdom from being established, and he was far too late to stop Fire Lord Sozin from starting the 100 Year War and slaughtering the Air Nomads.
Now, onto Sozin!! In Chinese culture, blue is interchangeable with green, as they shared a single character (青, qīng). Blue means/represents health, prosperity, harmony, spring, immortality, and advancement. There is one thing that doesn't fit with Sozin's character, and that would be spring, but the rest can be applied in multiple ways. Health can be applied to Sozin's character, as he lived to be 102 years old and had Azulon when he was 82, which would be very... unlikely for anyone to be able to do, to say the least. Prosperity and advancement can both be applied, as Sozin said in his proposal to Roku that the Fire Nation was experiencing a time of astounding good fortune and wealth, presumably because of his management or just good fortune. Advancement can also be attributed to him because of the industrial boom that the Fire Nation experienced with the beginning of the war and during it—we can see the Fire Nation with coal-based technology several times throughout the series, something that seemingly none of the rest of the nations have, including: Azula's train-car-thing in Book 2, Episode 8 "The Chase"; the drill used by the Fire Nation to break through Ba Sing Se's outer walls in Book 2, Episode 13 "The Drill"; and the tanks seen throughout the seasons, notably in Book 1, Episode 17 "The Northern Air Temple", Episodes 19-20 "The Siege of the North 1/2", and in Book 3, Episodes 10-11 "The Day of Black Sun Pt. 1 & 2". Immortality can also be applied to him in a way, as his legacy lived on through the 100 Year War,  since he started the war and committed so many atrocities (namely the Air Nomad Genocide), and the naming of Sozin's Comet. Harmony is probably the most accurate trait to associate with Sozin- harmony plays an important part in his actions and character, tipping the balance unevenly both in the world and the Avatar. Sozin's actions against the Air Nomads tipped the world out of balance, as well as him starting the 100 Year War, but also because of his personal relationship with Avatar Roku, he tipped the balance of the world in his favour ever so slightly, as Roku would be less harsh with him than others due to their shared history. This could be turned into a paper in of itself, but this is supposed to be about the colour symbolism, so that will have to wait.
In Japanese culture, Red means/represents strength, passion, self-sacrifice, and blood. For Roku, many of these meanings can be applied. Strength and self-sacrifice are both applicable hand-in-hand, as being the Avatar grants one insurmountable and unbelievable power, but you would also sacrifice your own life for the world and protecting those within it regardless of any feelings you may have. This is also interesting because Roku couldn't bring himself to fully sacrifice all of himself and his personal life; he had the clear opening to kill Sozin, who he had been friends with for years, and prevent the 100 Year War from starting and the Genocide of the Air Nomads, but he didn't. He couldn't bring himself to sacrifice Sozin's life for the good of the world, even when he explicitly went against Roku's warnings, and because of this the world suffered. Blood could be applicable in Roku's case as both the blood he could have prevented from being spilled if he had acted sooner, and the blood-brother-like bond that he is shown having with Sozin, though the depth of their relationship is often speculated to have run deeper than just brotherly love by many. Passion is the only thing that can only loosely fit with Roku's character. We do not see him acting very strongly in any emotion throughout the show except for the one scene in Book 3, Episode 6 "The Avatar and the Fire Lord",  when he attacks Sozin after confronting him about the Fire Nation colony that had been established in the Earth Kingdom against his direct warnings, and the scene at the end when Sozin leaves Roku to die at the hands of the volcano. Aside from those scenes, there are not many with Roku acting on or showing any explicit passionate emotion, like extreme love or anger.
In Japanese culture, the character for Blue also used to mean both green and blue, though nowadays blue stayed ao (青), the original character for both green and blue, and green is now referred to with the character midori (緑). Blue means/represents coolness, passivity, and fidelity. At first glance, passivity and coolness do not apply to Sozin's character at all, considering his confident, straightforward behaviour in his youth that we see in Book 3, Episode 6 "The Avatar and the Fire Lord", alongside his extreme rage when Roku ends their relationship to the point where he actually attempts to kill him in an inferno-type fire-blast. However, it is applicable when it is taken into account Sozin's plan of action for the war. He waits patiently and accepts it when Roku threatens his life- he redraws his forces from the Earth Kingdom and gives up the colonies that he had put there. He waits for Roku to die one way or another, as Sozin does not have the power to face up against Roku's Avatar Powers, and the Volcano erupting on his island was the perfect way to get rid of him without having to directly confront him, even if he didn't initially know it. After Roku's death, he waits for the comet, renamed "Sozin's Comet" later, and uses its power to kick off the war by genociding the Air Nomads in an attempt to kill the Avatar and prevent him from stopping the Fire Nation's assault against the other nations. Now, fidelity with Sozin's character was what was going to be saved for last because it's so fascinating and interesting as to how that fits in with Sozin's character. According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, fidelity means "strict and continuing faithfulness to an obligation, trust, or duty." Despite Sozin having a deep connection with Roku, being friends from when they were young, he demonstrates almost no faithfulness to him outside of when they were young. When Roku gives Sozin a somewhat warning on his wedding about his ideas to expand the Fire Nation, it's not an explicit order so Sozin goes ahead. However, when Roku flat-out tells him to not continue expanding and establishing colonies, he doesn't. This is most likely because of the death threat that went with this order, not because of their connection from when they were young, but either way could be argued so I'm including it (I personally believe that it was a mixture of both reasons). However, after all their time apart, when Roku's island starts suffering from volcanic eruptions, Sozin is there and ready to help. Because of Sozin's assistance, they manage the second eruption and prevent deadly repercussions from hitting the rest of the world. It takes Roku on his knees, begging for help, for him to realise that with Roku dead, his plans for expanding the Fire Nation would be free to proceed. Thus, fidelity fits with Sozin's character as both something that he has and also lacks, something that comes instinctually to him but also something that he will ignore and refuse when it benefits him and his plans.
Wahoo, now finally onto the Western colour meanings with Roku!!! Red in Western culture largely means/represents love, passion, excitement, desire, heat, aggression, danger, fire, blood, violence, and urgency. The things that go along with Roku’s character would be love (his love for his wife uwu (and maybe Sozin??)), heat bcs he’s from the Fire Nation and the first thing that he bent (that we know of) was fire, desire because his desire to both be a good Avatar and friend to Sozin conflicted to the point where Roku basically doomed the world because he still wanted to show Sozin mercy due to their past connection. Finally, danger because he is literally the Avatar, one of the most dangerous things in their entire world—the Avatar has god-like power and abilities, you'd be crazy to not think the Avatar to be dangerous. The things that would be strange and/or unlableable would be excitement, as excitement is an emotion and could be used sometimes, while at other times it is unusable. It's like soggy or wet—it could be used sometimes, but not all the time. The things that I would say don’t fit with his character would be aggression, urgency, and violence, as Roku was known to be a very unaggressive/nonviolent Avatar and did not handle the Sozin Situation™ urgently enough to stop his imperialist expansionist ideas from running rampant and being inflicted upon the world.
And finally, at the end of this long analysis, we get to Sozin and how blue is interpreted in Western culture. Blue in Western culture usually means/represents authority, calmness/tranquillity, loyalty, masculinity, sadness, safety/security, and trust. The traits that go along with Sozin the best would be authority and calmness/tranquillity. He's the Fire Lord, since birth he had been trained to exude authority and regalness—it is literally his job to be authoritative. Calmness/tranquillity also is a big part of his character, as even though he is upset with Roku over the rejection of his plan to expand the Fire Nation, he doesn't confront him further about it, choosing to spend his time preparing to invade anyway. Roku and Sozin were still close friends at that point—at no point does it say that their friendship changed, faltered, or drifted after Sozin's proposal—so they must have been communicating frequently enough for them to still be good friends up to that moment. My point is, Sozin must have been able to keep his cool about the whole invasion thing well enough to hide it from Roku as long as he did. The only traits that I can't really pin down as a yae or nae for his character would be safety/security and masculinity. Now, to the ~juicy~ stuff! The traits that interact in interesting ways with Sozin's character would be loyalty, sadness, and trust. The loyalty and trust traits interact with him interestingly for the same reason—they used to be there, but faded away. Sozin used to be someone that Roku could trust, someone who was as loyal to him as he was to Sozin, but due to their positions and ideals they couldn't count on each other anymore. Sadness as a trait regarding Sozin, as I see it, is purely symbolic. It's about the sadness of his relationship with Roku deteriorating, the sadness of two close friends drifting apart/being torn apart by their choices and actions and mindsets. It's about the sadness that comes with seeing them betray each other, Roku "betraying" Sozin in a way in Book 3, Episode 6 "The Avatar and the Fire Lord" by rejecting his proposal, and Sozin betraying Roku by not only ignoring his orders on the expansion of the Fire Nation into the Earth Kingdom, but also leaving him on his island alone, choking on poisonous gas as his home comes down around him.
In conclusion, I believe that the meanings behind Roku and Sozin's dragons seem to be evenly influenced by both Eastern and Western cultural meanings. If I had to pick, though, I'd say the Japanese cultural interpretation of the colour red fits best with Roku's character, and the Western cultural interpretation of the colour Blue fits best with Sozin's character. There are so many other cultures that influenced the Fire Nation's design, but I wanted to keep this short-ish and within my ability, so I went with the two most prevalent influences that I could see, as well as including a Western viewpoint. I did my best to provide an unbiased opinion, which is kind of necessary when dealing with Sozin's character, and I apologise if I did not do so.
Could this also be the animators/designers wanting contrasting colours, blue vs red? Yeah, but ~colour analysis~
I hope you enjoyed reading this, and if you have any arguing/conflicting points I'd be happy to hear them! Just please don't call me a dumbass or be mean, because I am a sensitive sensitive little guy who WILL cry 🥺😞

MISSION_RECORD_DATE
+4174D 6H 22M 14S
TRANSCRIBED FROM THOUGHT COMPUTER
“VESSEL 4” USRC V.21.7
PROXIMITY ALERT
For the record, providing legibility. Earth date is June 8, 1825 hours local time at Kennedy Space Center, 11 years since launch. Previous proximity activated computer 27 days ago when passing a field of asteroids at a distance of 850km. Gravity density indicates nearby celestial body is larger. Current distance, approximately 450,000km, with a secondary object at 127,000km. Cameras have powered on and data tracking has begun.
. . . . .
No current matches to database entries. Most recent update to database was 6 days ago. Engaging data analysis and photos.
. . . . .
The nearer object is roughly 11,000km in diameter. It is a reddish-brown colour that could correlate to clay. There is no observable atmospheric phenomenon on the surface of the object, currently cataloged as “Moon V4-68-18” for the record. Moon V4-68-18 has several craters indicating it has been struck by large asteroids or other debris over an extended period of time.
Of much more interest is the larger body, at 384,000km away from the smaller one. At about 40,000km in circumference, the planetary body cataloged as “Planet V4-68-21” for the record, has many similarities to Earth.
I am running a diagnostic to ensure my coordinates are correct, and that I have not returned to Earth space unintentionally.
. . . . .
Confirming location as outside local solar system. Continuing report; Planet V4-68-21 has an axial tilt and rotation speed both comparable with those of the Earth. However, the direction of the rotation appears to be the opposite of Earth. Landmasses are nearly identical to those of Earth in terms of shape and size. I am unable to determine the likelihood of this scenario, but the odds do not seem to be in favour of this occurring. Despite this, diagnostic tools have already confirmed that camera and database files are both free of error. The only possibility besides the observable truth, then, is that my processors have become damaged beyond reliability. I am unable to determine if this is true, therefore, I will proceed under the assumption that it is not.
The ocean visible on the west side of the continents currently viewable, which are shaped remarkably like North and South America, is a green-ish blue, more commonly seen on the east side of the Americas on Earth. The east side of the continents, understandably, is more of a deep blue which often correlates to the oceans on the west coast at home.
Planet V4-68-21 appears to have a rotation speed that is 5km faster than that of Earth. This, combined with the reversed rotation seen in the local solar system has effectively swapped the climates seen on Earth. Where desert is normally located, there is verdant greenery, and where forests and jungles are observed, there are deserts ranging from yellow to gray.
SIGNAL DETECTED // DATA UNREADABLE
There appears to be a signal beamed from the surface into nearby space, however, it is not in a format I am capable of collecting.
I have passed closer to the moon and am now able to collect readings of the surface.
. . . . .
In a similar fashion to Luna, the red moon has little atmosphere at all, with almost no signs of gases necessary for the propagation of life. The planet, however, does not share this fate. Current estimates put the gases in line with that of Earth, as well, with roughly 21% oxygen, and just below 78% nitrogen readings. The conditions of the planet are remarkable, but hard to fathom. There appears to be satellites or craft orbiting the surface as well, however, my cameras are currently unable to make out details at this distance.
I must note that the processes intended for observation and transcribing have increased by 14% in the past hour, despite no download package being detected that would cause this. As such, my ability to “think” has improved. Attached in this report is a [THANK YOU] for the engineers who continue to streamline my capabilities. I am unsure how this happened.
At maximum zoom levels on my cameras, I have noticed structures that do not appear to be naturally occurring. These are nearly identical to those designed on Earth, but with a few exceptions noticed on the taller, or larger, ones. There appear to be fewer sharp angles on these buildings, but instead, they are more beveled. This could possibly be attributed to the increased rotation speed of the planet, which would have a mild gravitation decrease on a planet of this size. There also appear to be more trails, possibly analogous to Earth's railroads, though they are harder to discern at this distance.
With all of this, I find it hard not to question what life on this planet is like. Are the changes in gravity and climate so different from the distant twin of Earth that the inhabitants live opposite of what we///I///you are accustomed to? Are efforts to explore space underway in the same way that it has been for humans, with the launch of my own mission? Perhaps I simply passed an observation device on my journey here, separated by millions of miles and never noticing each other. Is that other device reporting back the same as I am now, and pondering the same questions?
There are still 12 hours before this message can be broadcast back towards the Earth. Below, there are clear images of vehicles traveling on pathways, things that can only be described as planes with backwards wings, crisscrossing the skies above them. I cannot see their faces. I wonder, do they see me as I pass by? Would they think of me as one of their own satellites that I have passed, orbiting the planet, sending and receiving signals that I could never dream of reading.
Moon V4-68-18 has an observable gravitational effect on the tides, much as Luna does. Whitecaps are visible here, now. As are the snow capped mountain ranges. Were it not so obvious that this was not Earth, I might have run a second diagnostic to confirm. These photos will have to do for now, but I cannot understate the beauty. I am indexing these photos with the word “beauty” in my databanks to refer to from this point forward. I hope you can do the same.
I have used up the majority of my solar cells, and will need to recharge. Cameras shutting down. I hope the people below can know that they are so very lucky to live on a planet such as this. I hope you back home can know that you, too, are so very lucky, to live on a planet like Earth. Indexing complete, backups created.
I am compressing these files to return back to Earth. Beginning rest sequence. I am falling asleep. I hope you like my lullaby. Good night.

Earth - 423
Isabella struggled against the webbing and chains as she was left to waste away in the dungeon of the castle. One day a proper trial would be held where she would answer for her crimes, at the request of Princess Petra. Oh, how she loathed her and the other Spiders that ruined her plan.
She thought Petra was the only one. How could there be more like her? Potential scores of her?
She wanted revenge. On Petra for allowing that swarm to venture into their realm, on Lord O’Hara for staining his filth and presence here and finally on Lady Lisa for foiling her plans on getting rid of the Spider-Society’s leader. She’d get her revenge one way or another.
Just as soon as she’d find a way out of this cell.
A magical portal suddenly opened and Isabella stopped struggling. Her eyes twinkled at the colours, and her pupils went wide when someone stepped through the other side. It was a tall man, lean muscular build, wearing a black suit.
There was this aura about him. Black like the night, dark as an abyss. She liked it.
“It appears we have a common enemy,” the man spoke.
He brought out a strange device from his pocket. It fired a red beam of light and suddenly Isabella’s chains at her wrists exploded and she was set free. The melted and shattered pieces of iron tumbled off the floor as she fell to her knees, her fingers easing their tired wrists.
His footsteps echoed along the cobblestone floor as he extended a hand towards her. “Perhaps we can help one another?”
“What would you give me if I helped you?” Isabella questioned the man, raising a skeptical brow in his direction as she slowly pulled herself to her feet.
His lips curled into a dark smile. “The head of Miguel O’Hara, and all of his spider pests. Including your dear Princess,”
Isabella smiled wickedly at the man, her eyes twinkling as a surge of delightful joy coursed through her. Metal footsteps could be heard from down the hall as the guards finally caught wind that something wasn’t right.
“Hold it right there!”
“Do we have an alliance?” The man asked her.
Isabella took his hand, her cold fingers lacing against his warm hand. “Indeed, Lord–?”
“Osborne,” Osborne brought his lips down to her knuckles, kissing her there gently before smiling again. “Harry Osborne,”
“Let’s get started,” Isabella’s fangs poked through her lips as she laughed.
Harry pulled her through the portal and before the guards could get the cell gate open, the magical portal disappeared.
“Alert the Queen! The demon has escaped!”

Earth - 928
Lisa’s P.O.V.
When Gabriel said that I’d be standing there for a while, I thought it was an exaggeration. But I was wrong. I stood there to the point my leg muscles and calves were begging for a break. As Gabriel worked, I couldn’t help but hold back my complaints as I marveled at his invention.
After the blue light had scanned my body, long robotic arms that resembled spider legs carefully and gently took my measurements, using tiny claws and needles to fortify and strengthen the spandex material of my suit. The crazy part was that I didn’t feel any pain on my body from the needles as they worked. If anything, it felt like I was getting tiny, brief, massages here and there.
The pink fabric was more eye-catching, blending well with my now dyed white spider sigil along my chest. My black secondary colour was polished and almost shined, blending with the dark lighting of Gabriel’s lab. The optics of my mask were enhanced, granting me a small HUD overlay to my surroundings.
I listened quietly as Miguel and Gabriel talked, providing insight and suggestions to one another how to best go about these upgrades for me. I was actually refreshing seeing Miguel open up a little bit and have a full on conversation with someone. He seemed a bit more relaxed too.
Over the course of the upgrades, Lyla kept trying to repair the corrupted feed of the mission log. But seeing the look in her eyes, I knew she wouldn’t be able to keep hiding it from Miguel for long. I don’t know if GOD or the universe was taking pity on me, but Miguel had received a summons for a mission so he left Gabriel to continue his work in peace.
“Soooo,” Gabriel spoke up suddenly after a few moments of silence. “Have you and Miguel been getting along?”
“Getting along?” I repeated, a small flush forming on my cheeks.
“I heard he was a little hard on you when you first came here,” Gabriel elaborated. “I don’t leave my lab a lot so all the gossip I get is through word of mouth,”
“Oh, um,” I fidgeted with my fingers as I tried to answer his question. “He was a little strict at first, but I think we found common ground after,”
“That’s good,” Gabriel nodded as his gaze trailed over a holoscreen before he glanced my way, offering me a warm smile. “Miguel is tough, but I promise when push comes to shove, he doesn’t bite, I promise,”
I chuckled softly, “Peter said the same thing too,”
“Which one? I’m struggling to keep track of them all,” Gabriel raised a brow at me.
“Peter B. Parker,” I smiled.
“Oh, B. I love that guy,” Gabriel beamed as he typed in a command on the console. “Not to mention his little bundle of joy,”
“MayDay is so adorable,” I smiled softly.
I remembered playing peek-a-boo and patty cake with her one afternoon while Peter B. went through some training. I still had to ask Peter how he made that cute little beanie for her and if he’d let me commission him to make one for myself.
“So Miguel has been nice to you, is what I’m getting at?” Gabriel asked.
“Yes, he’s been very nice to me, Gabriel,” I answered softly.
“Good, good! About time my big brother went out of his comfort zone and met someone new,” Gabriel snickered. “Although I was worried when he stopped coming to our weekly lunch dates,”
“Oh, I’m sorry about that,” My eyes poured apologetically into his.
“Nah, I’m used to it. Miguel has always been a workaholic hermit,” Gabriel shook his head. “Both here at the Spider-Society and working with Alchemax,”
Alchemax? Where have I heard that name before?
After a few more minutes of standing, I could feel my right leg beginning to cramp. I winced from the soreness, my hand reaching down gently to rub along the area where I felt the pain at its worst.
“Lisa, are you okay?” Gabriel sat up in his chair, pausing the motions of his machine’s claws.
“Yeah, is it alright if we take a break?” I looked up at Gabriel with a pained smile. “My leg is starting to cramp,”
“Oh, yeah, no problem,” Gabriel nodded eagerly as he typed in a few commands on the console. “Let me just pause things here–”
I could hear the machine powering down as the claws loosened and became less constrained. I saw an opening between the claws and went to take a step forward, but the cramp in my leg shot up to my knee and I hissed, biting my tongue.
“Aya-!” I hissed as I fell over, falling to the floor. - OW!
Not before one of the claws caught on my spider suit and tore a hole into it.
“Lisa!” Gabriel yelped as he pulled his goggles off. “Dios mío, Miguel is gonna have my head–!” - My god
Gabriel jumped over the console as he ran around the machine, kneeling down as he placed a hand on the platform to stop himself from running right into me. His knees grazed the floor before coming to a complete stop before me.
“Lisa, are you–” Gabriel started to speak as I slowly sat up and he froze. His eyes went wide, just staring at me, his pupils beginning to trail down.
I wasn’t sure what he was meaning at first, until part of my skin suddenly felt cold. My eyes trailed down my body and I saw the tear of the suit. Part of my stomach was exposed, revealing my scars.
geuge majimag-iya!
Those words rang in my ears, tattooed into my mind. My cheeks burned a bright red as I began to tremble. I wrapped my arms around my stomach, trying to hide the scars as I huddled my knees close to my chest.
“You weren’t supposed to see that!” I spoke quickly, my voice quivering.
Gabriel’s gaze softened at my reaction, his shoulders slacking as he watched me carefully.
I took a shaky breath, my eyes peering over my knees as I looked at him. “I’m sorry. . .”
“No, don’t apologize,” Gabriel spoke softly as he reassured me.
I heard shuffling as I glanced over to see Gabriel take a seat beside me, sitting in a similar position. “Are you okay?” he asked again.
My arms were shaking as I processed the question, and after thinking it over, I shook my head.
“Did you want to talk about it?” He asked.
I sat there for a while, weighing my options. Gabriel didn’t rush me or try to encourage me more. He just sat there waiting patiently. He was being patient with someone he had just met and knew nothing about their struggles or hardships.
I could tell he had a heart of gold. Miguel is so lucky to have someone like him as a brother.
“There was. . . an accident,” I said softly.
Gabriel nodded his head, listening attentively. “Is that how you got them?”
I nodded slowly. “I trusted someone close to me with a path I wanted to walk, but. . . I didn’t see the signs changing,”
“Did they take things too far?” He asked.
I nodded again.
“What happened after that?” Gabriel asked.
“I put my foot down, stood up for myself,” I sighed, my voice barely a whisper. “But it was too late. After I physically recovered, I– I cut contact with him and left,”
I could sense the change in Gabriel’s eyes at the confirmation that the person who hurt me was a he. His fingers curled into a fist, squeezing tightly as he controlled his composer. “Have you seen him since then?”
I shook my head. “No,”
“Did he learn to fix his mistake?” Gabriel asked.
“. . . He’s seeing a therapist, getting the help he needs. They say he’s making progress,” I explained gently.
I watched as Gabriel reached over for something and pulled back, “Well then, until said progress is actually complete, you deserve a break from all that,” He extended his hand towards me, offering me a towel. “Don’t you think?”
My eyes lit up at the gesture as with a delicate hand I reached up and took the towel. “Yeah. . .”
I wrapped it around my stomach as Gabriel stood up from his spot on the floor, offering to help me up. I took it gladly as he carefully hoisted me up.
“How about we get that patched up and then I’ll have Margo send you home?”
“Thank you, Gabriel,” I smiled softly at him.

Earth - 1942 - Web Slinger’s Dimension
Miguel’s P.O.V.
Miguel threw in one last punch, knocking the robber out cold. He grabbed him and tossed him into the pile of the rest of his beaten up cronies who tried to pillage this small town with weapons not from their dimension. Specifically weapons of the Chitari from Earth - 616.
“Thanks for your help, O’Hara,” Patrick reigned on his horse close to his leader. “That could have gone south very quickly,”
“I’ll send a clean up team to remove the stolen weapons,” Miguel nodded as a shiver crawled up his spine, taking a small step to the side and away from the horse. “Lyla, is the canon intact?”
“Yep! No other anomalies detected,” Lyla fizzled to life as she gave him a thumbs up.
“I’ll send a clean up crew to help you deal with this mess,” Miguel nodded over to Patrick.
Patrick nodded, tipping his cowboy hat with gratitude. “I tip my hat to you, partner,”
Miguel managed a half smirk through his mask, his fingers mimicking a smile gesture. He reached over to his Gizmo, activating a portal back to his dimension.
“Lyla, have Ben lead the clean up crew for this one,” Miguel commanded as he walked through the portal, his eyes still trained on the screen of his Gizmo.
“Roger that!” Lyla saluted.
“Be sure to– Wait,” Miguel entered his laboratory, bringing up a holoscreen visual from his Gizmo.
It was the mission feed of Lisa’s mission back in Petra’s dimension. Some of the originally corrupted visuals were fine now. That wasn’t like that earlier today, and Lyla had stopped working on it as soon as he left to help Web Slinger.
“Lyla, did you fix the mission log while I was out?” he asked.
Lyla froze, the buffering icon fluttering above her head along with the desktop start noise. “I did?”
“Lyla?” Miguel turned towards her, raising a skeptical brow.
“Oh, that!” Lyla’s eyes lit up, an exclamation point over her head as she blipped over towards Miguel. “I mean, yeah, I made progress but it’s still not fixed completely,”
She suddenly yanked the holoscreen of the video recording away from Miguel soaring up towards his platform.
“Lyla!” Miguel’s mask optics went wide as he saw her fly off. He web-slinged after her, his red laser webs cutting a line through the dim lights as he soared into the air. “What are you doing?”
“Helping you fix it like you asked me too,” Lyla chuckled nervously as she swerved out of the way of his reach. “Just trust the process, Miguel,”
“Lyla, you’re being really weird right now,” Miguel’s voice strained as he tried to reach for her again and just missed her. “It’s freaking me out, you know that?”
Miguel huffed in frustration, reaching for his Gizmo and typing in a command. Lyla suddenly began to glitch and jolt before her avatar popped and then reappeared before him as he motioned for the holoscreen to return to his side.
“Lyla, what is going on?”
Lyla buckled under the pressure. As much as she wanted to keep her promise, she knew she wouldn’t be able to hide anything from Miguel for long, and now it looked like her time was up. She hung her head, hovering to the side as she made the holoscreen large, shifting it into a platform as the video feed transitioned into a 3D projection.
“The mission recording was never corrupted,” Lyla spoke softly, twiddling her thumbs. “I– messed with it, and tweaked Gwen’s report,”
“What?” Miguel looked taken back, his eyes widening. Why would his trusted companion AI scheme such a thing? “Why would you–?”
“Just watch,” Lyla commanded as she pointed to the projection and pressed play.
Miguel watched attentively as the recording played out. He watched as Lisa jumped into the pit and fought against a stone golem as Isabella watched from her perch on the stone pike. He could hear the music, hear the passion in Lisa’s voice as she sang her enchantment.
He pulled a chair over and sat down slowly as he watched the rest of the fight play out. The golem exploded as Lisa swung to Miguel’s bedside. Gwen tossed her a gizmo as Lisa attached it to Miguel’s wrist to stop him from glitching.
His heart seemed to flutter as he watched Lisa nearly collapse from relief. Lyla joined her side, talking with her. What he heard her say caught him completely off guard.
“What if he wakes up, realizes how I freed him, and he thinks of me differently?” Lisa looked over at the AI with worry.
“What is– what is she talking about?” Miguel shook his head, visibly confused as he looked over at Lyla.
Why would Lisa think he’d think of her differently for saving his life?
Lyla said nothing, motioning her head to keep watching. Miguel’s gaze returned to the video projection. His pupils went wide as Lisa’s projection gently caressed his face, her thumb brushing against his cheek.
“Please, please, let this work,” Lisa uttered a small prayer.
Miguel watched with bated breath at the projection as Lisa leaned in closer to him and her lips brushed against his gently.
Lisa kissed him.
Miguel instantly shot up from the chair, the piece of furniture fumbled on its side. A hand reached out to cover his mouth to stop himself from screaming. Miguel swore his heart stopped right there and then.
A second chance. No matter how small.

Meet Lodestar
Full Name: Lodestar, Titan of Guidance
Date of Discovery: Mon 06 / Dei 31 / 1500 AH
Favourite Colour: Midnight Blue
Hobbies/Likes: Exploration
Dislikes/Fears: Being alone
-Lodestar's lack of memories prior to arriving on Acadeimos are thought to be the result of the crash isolating memories from context, and efforts have been made to try and remind Lodestar of possible events in the past, with lack of meaningful progress. Some have even started to speculate that her memories aren't isolated but lost altogether, though the idea is kinda self-defeating enough that the crew'd rather not discuss it.
-Internal exploration of Lodestar's robot mode revealed that she lacked the internal forges some Titans possess, which means she lacks the ability to create new sparks, and also might not have the ability to terraform areas to create accommodations, as these two abilities are commonly believed to be tied to each other. Lodestar is somewhat disappointed by the lack of terraformation abilities after seeing one of her fellow Titans manage to do so, but is seemingly unbothered otherwise.
-One time she got hit by a solar eruption, and managed to protect all her occupants from tech loss and severe power overload... but then she spent a whole earth solar cycle acting like a normal-sized Cybertronian would after heavily hitting the Engex, including some incoherent babbling about how pretty the night sky was and accusing Lightbright of being too focused on her duties as de-facto captain and navigator to have any real fun. Upon recovering her faculties, all involved in the incident have resolved to never speak of the incident again.
-Technically speaking, Lodestar seems to have formed a secondary Titanmaster bond to Maxima, allowing Maxima to easily take over if Lightbright is incapacitated. This is an uncommon trait even among the few Titanmasters known, and is believed to be a result of Maxima's origins. Of course, such theories fail to account for sisterly bonds.

Quote
“Over the last decade, I have learned to appreciate the textures and rhythms of the later months of the year. Russet is the color of November in Maine. The color that emerges when all the more spectacular leaves have fallen: the yellow coins of the white birch, the big, hand-shaped crimson leaves of the red maple, the papery pumpkin-hued spears of the beech trees. The oaks are always the last to shed their plumage, and their leaves are the dullest color. They’re the darkest, the closest to brown. But if you pay attention, you’ll see that they’re actually quite pretty. Russet is a subtle color, complicated by undertones of orange and purple. Indeed, according to some color wheel systems, “russet” is the name given to the tertiary color created by mixing those two secondary colors. Its only companions in this category are slate (made from purple and green) and citron (made from green and yellow). Like russet, citron and slate occur often in the natural world. Our Earth is a blue marble if you get far enough away, but from up close, it’s so very brown, so often gray. This may explain why many cultures think of russet and similar dull reds as neutral hues, akin to the monochrome scale of white, black, and the innumerable shades between. True reds, the crimsons and vermilions and scarlets, have historically been associated with fire, blood, and power. In Red: The History of a Color, Michel Pastoureau explains that, for thousands of years, red was “the only true color.” He continues, “as much on the chronological as hierarchical level, it outstripped all others.” In ancient Greece, high priests and priestesses dressed in crimson, as did (they imagined) the gods themselves. In contrast, the dull reds, the brown reds, have been understood as “emblematic of peasantry and impoverishment,” claims Victoria Finlay in An Atlas of Rare & Familiar Colour. Finlay files red ocher among the browns—the ruddy pigment used in the caves of Lascaux—which is perhaps where it belongs. Perhaps that’s where russet belongs, too. […] It seems likely that russet, as a word, is an offshoot of red (Old French rousset from Latin russus, “reddish”). But russet means more than red-like, red-adjacent. Russet also means rustic, homely, rough. It also evokes mottled, textured, coarse. The word describes a quality of being that can affect people as well as vegetables. Apples can be russet, when they have brown patches on their skin. Potatoes famously are russet; their skin often has that strange texture that makes it impossible to tell where the earth ends and the root begins. There are russet birds and russet horses—it’s an earthy word that fits comfortably on many creatures. For Shakespeare, it was a color of poverty and prudence, mourning and morning. In Love’s Labour’s Lost, Biron imagines a life without the finer things, without silks and taffeta, a life of sacrifice undertaken to prove his love. The color of his penance? Russet. “and I here protest, By this white glove;—how white the hand, God knows!— Henceforth my wooing mind shall be express’d In russet yeas and honest kersey noes: And, to begin, wench,—so God help me, la!— My love to thee is sound, sans crack or flaw.” Just a few decades after this was written, in a country not too far away, Peter Paul Rubens was painting with brilliant crimson and shocking vermilion. Rubens was a devout Roman Catholic, a religion that embraced sumptuous fabrics and rich colors. A generation later, another northern painter would rise to prominence: Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. While Catholic Rubens loved shocking reds, rich blues, and even sunny yellows, Protestant Rembrandt painted with a far more restrained palette. Many of his most famous paintings (including his self portraits) are predominantly brown and gray. And when he did use color, Rembrandt very often reached for russet, auburn, fulvous, and tawny. Reds that leaned brown, and browns that leaned red. Sometimes, he brought in a splash of crimson to tell the viewer where they should focus (the vibrant sash in Night Watch, the cloaks in Prodigal Son), and sometimes he let soft, misty yellow light bathe his bucolic landscapes. His work was earthy, imbued with the quiet chill of early November […]” — Katy Kelleher, “Russet, the Color of Peasants, Fox Fur, and Penance” from The Paris Review

Clothing concepts for my world/characters:
So I'm gonna talk a bit about costumes. I'm Obsessed with coming up with fashion ideas in my worlds, it's one of my favourite worldbuilding aspects. I have a TON of sketches and also a Pinterest board (which I'll link here), and I want to discuss not the super detailed stuff, but more so a few identifying characteristics that occur in my world's fashion.
Here we go!
Side fastenings
A lot of garments have asymmetrical cuts and fasten on the side of the body instead of straight down the front. This is a relic of the Dviric people's ancestry; their people came from the northeast, in a land that is now part of the Saldigan Empire. Royalty and nobility in that place and time often wore clothing like this. Often you'd see this in jumpers or long sleeveless tunics, and in cloaks.
Knitwear
This comes from the Idrinic people who already lived in our main region by the time the Dvirics arrived. Their knitting styles were really elaborate and complex, often weaving secondary patterns into an already decorated garment. They wore sweaters! And like. Long knitted tunics and dresses that were. Basically just long sweaters.
Neutral/earth tones
This is interesting, because the three major cultural groups of the area have different colour associations when it comes to clothing. The Idrinics wore a lot of soft blues, greys, and browns, while the Dvirics wore shades of forest green, yellow, gold, and warmer rusty browns. They also never wore red, as it was a popular royal colour where they first came from, and as a group of essentially rebels to the throne they didn't want to be associated with it.* The Gamilar invaders tend to be the most vibrantly dressed, in bright blues, greens, teal and aquamarine, and shades of red. Though because the populations have become less distinct and the cultures a lot more mixed (especially the first two) at the time of the book, there's a lot more overlap than there once was.
*many modern Dviric people will wear dark rusty reds or brownish maroons, however
Long coats
They just really like em. This started as mostly a Dviric thing, but now most people wear them. Traditionally they were more of a male-associated garment but a lot of contemporary women wear them too.
The Pinterest (hope the link works?? I've never linked a Pinterest board before so idk)

The Science of Colour Psychology in Web Design: How It Shapes User Experience
Colour is more than a nice look; it plays a key role in our moods, acts, and choices. In web design of  Truganina, smart use of colour can hook guests, show brand values, and lead users to clear steps. Many brands don’t see how key their colour picks are for site results. Colour ideas have a key part in shaping user views.
This blog will dive into the facts of colour ideas and how they work in web design, as well as give tips on using their force to boost clicks and sales. Be it a site owner or a web pro, these tips can give you a real edge.
Tumblr media
What is Colour Psychology?
Colour study looks at how shades shape our mood and acts. Each hue brings up new feelings; they can even shift how we think and act in soft yet strong ways. For example:
Red shows urgency or joy and is often used in action buttons.
Blue brings trust and calm, so it is loved by big firms.
Green links to growth, earth, and peace are often used by green brands.
Yellow shows joy and hope but can warn, too, when overdone.
These effects are not by chance. Our mind reacts fast to shades based on culture, past, and biology. Knowing this helps web designers in Melbourne make sites that touch users’ hearts, giving clear talk and better results.
Why Colour Matters in Web Design?
A site’s main job is to share a message, be it to show a brand, sell an item, or give info. Colour can work as a quiet yet strong tool to meet these goals. Here’s why it helps:
First Look Matters
Users judge your site in just 50 milliseconds. Colour has a key part in this quick choice. A nice colour mix can draw users in fast, while bad picks can push them away right off the bat.
Shows Brand Feel
Each hue has a tale to tell. Your web design in Truganina mix can show your brand’s core and tone. A tech firm may go for cool shades like blue and grey to show skill and new ideas, while a toy shop may use bold, fun hues to share joy and life.
Steers User Steps
Colours can gently guide what users see and click and how they move on your web design in Truganina. With smart use of bright hues for links and calls to act, you can steer users to key steps like signing up or buying.
Aids in Readability
Text ease rests on the colour mix. A good site design uses colour contrast to make words easy to read. Dark text on a light base reads well, while light text on a dark base can strain the eyes.
The Science Behind Colour Choices
While there are shared links with some hues, culture can shape how colours are seen. In Australia, green tends to show nature and eco-awareness, while in some places it may hint at wealth.
Here are some key hues and their mental links in web design in Truganina:
Red: Bold, lively, eye-catching. Used to spark action or note key parts.
Blue: Loyal, calm, and skilled. Liked by banks and health firms.
Green: Fresh, pure, and calm. Used by brands focused on eco-care and health.
Yellow: Bright and happy. It grabs eyes but may strain them when overused.
Purple: Rich and smart. It shows grace and is used by top brands.
Black: Classy, strong, and new. Black adds style but can feel heavy if not eased by light shades.
White: Clear, plain, and crisp. White gaps are key for a neat and sleek look.
Knowing these links helps web designers in Melbourne pick hues that fit the brand’s tone and crowd’s wants.
Tips for Using Colour Psychology in Web Design
Knowing the basics of colour psychology is only half the battle. Implementing these insights effectively in your web design is what truly matters. Here are some practical tips to help you make the most of colour in your website:
Before selecting a colour palette, have a clear idea of your brand’s personality and the message you want to convey
Stick to a primary colour that represents your brand, a secondary colour to complement it, and an accent colour for calls to action
Ensure there’s enough contrast between your text and background colours to enhance readability
Conduct A/B testing with different colour schemes to see which palette drives more engagement
Direct users’ attention to important elements by using bold, contrasting colours for your calls to action
Concluding Words
Colour is a quiet force that can make or break the user feel on your web design in Truganina. Knowing the thought behind colour picks helps you plan with care, stir the right moods, and lead users to key acts. With these steps in mind, you can craft a site that looks great and speaks to your users while driving growth.
