Look I'm not saying I can predict the future BUT

Honestly I loved episode three. I loved the gaping hole Kanan left in the narrative. He's a ghost, he's right there, he never existed, he never left.

When Hera talks to Mon Mothma and the senators and Mothma asks about Jacen, and Ezra is mentioned by name, but not Kanan. Just 'I lost people who were like family' and the only person she can be taking about is Kanan but he is unnamed. We know. She knows. But the others in the scene cant. And the republic wouldn't really want to acknowledge that loss. A Jedi died fighting for them, and his wife is begging for help to find their Jedi adoptive son and there 'isn't resources' because there is never fucking resources for anything that doesn't line the elites pockets because under the veneer of space opera, capitalism is rotting and always will be.

And when Hera is talking to Jacen, and he's been playing with Chopper when he should be with his Dad or Ezra learning Jedi stuff, and when he ways he wants to be a Jedi and it just hangs there and Hera tells him she knows. How many excuses has she come up with to keep him away from the Jedi stuff because its safer for him to let his talent burn out and she just can't loose another person to that. She can't go through it again. How long can she keep him safe from it? She can't. He is Kanan's son as much as hers. Ezra will come back, but at least Ezra will Know. Will have known Kanan. Know what Hera fears.

And when Ahsoka talks about the force with Sabine and she says the same things Kanan did, and Sabine doesn't stop her because how would Ahsoka know? She barely knew Kanan. When she trains Sabine with wooden weapons and its the same way Kanan did. And when they do the blind drills, and she should have been learning to fight blind from Kanan. Even the mask Sabine wears looks more like Kanan's mask from 'Twilight of the Apprentice' than any of the other helmets we see used for the same drill.

Kanan left this huge absence in the show, that only exists for those who knew him, both in universe and those who watched Rebels. And I just think its fucking beautiful.

One of my fav things about star wars is that's its so fucking huge that u physically cannot know all of it so u just kinda like pick a section amd become obsessed. Like me with the Chiss. Like i have seen only one other fandom come even close to this amd that's Marvel. I have no idea y. And we all still bond over the skywalker saga (not the ones that shan't be spoken). And its like we all know a bit of each other sections. Like clone fans know a bit about ahsoka. Ahsoka fans know a bit about the Rebels fans. Rebels fans know about Thrawn. Thrawn fans know some deep shit about Padmes handmaiden and wild space yokels. And it pretty much goes on forever and i find that very cool.

Suddenly bowled over by the image of Anakin with a baby Ahsoka strapped to his front during the middle of work. Ok I guess??

Ahsoka getting cursed into a toddler during the Clone Wars and Anakin is now suddenly responsible for a literal baby. He is now acutely aware of the fact that the 501st are in an active engagement and his protective instincts are dialed right up to max. They have to be pulled back from the front, a young padawan was pushing it as it was but this is a Babby.

He's having to think about what baby togruta eat. Ahsoka can't feed herself or defend herself or anything except wiggle around like a striped potato. Her montrols are non existant, just little nubs, and its almost bringing this Jedi Knight to tears with how cute she is. He knows she's a carnivore but surely they don't eat meat that early?? Do they need anything else to develop correctly?? Is he going to accidentally harm her somehow through neglect?!

Anakin: Master Ti, what do baby togruta eat??

Shaak: Pardon?

Anakin: Help.

She gets the explanation from Anakin in pieces and a better explanation from Kix. She can tell him how to look after her until they can reach Coruscant, milk if they have any on board will do fine in the interim and Ahsoka will like being bundled up. The pressure of being cocooned is soothing (thinking of Momma Tano strapping babby Ahsoka to her front but now it's Anakin making sure she goes with him everywhere) and will prevent her from becoming too agitated.

She keeps chewing on his leather glove when he holds her but he doesn't mind, and just lets her gnaw on his knuckles like a chew toy. Its not his flesh hand anyway so it's fine. He can’t effectively secure her to him on his own so he has to get Rex to help him do it properly with Shaak still on speeddial for instructions.

She can’t help but notice how oddly domestic the scene looks as Rex carefully wraps Ahsoka in her papoose cocoon to Anakin's chest. They're both cooing at her. Shaak cannot wait for a Council meeting to be called about this.

The clones are caught between being distraught at what's happened to their Commander, as well as thinking she's the cutest thing they've ever seen. Since Anakin is now focusing harder on keeping Ahsoka safe since she can't protect herself anymore, Rex has taken it upon himself to stick at their side even more than usual. Just a very protective satellite orbiting around both Jedi in case they need anything.

No, the other men are not jealous that Anakin automatically hands Ahsoka off to his Captain if he needs to be free if her for a minute or two.

Back on Coruscant he knows she's better off being handled by the creche but ... that's his Padawan, just small. Everyone on the Council had hoped he'd deal with a Padawan just fine but were admittedly a little surprised by just how well he took to it. Seeing him immediately throw himself into taking care of baby Ahsoka, and all her species specific needs, has a lot of them second guessing their assumptions of him.

It's Obi-Wan who eventually asks where his almost instinctual knowledge comes from. The answer is that Shmi Skywalker was the go to mum for any new mothers on Tatooine and there were quite a few in the slave quarters during Anakin’s time there. He learned by just being there to help out.

Obi-Wan: if you want to continue to care for Ahsoka, you could do so by just working in the Creche and helping there with the rest of the infants

It’s horrible sometimes. 😭😒���� The Acolyte has only made it worse… but while I’m not gonna lie and say I’m not glad it’s canceled… I’m also not gonna rub fans’s faces in it. Especially because of the lost representation they all probably felt. The show just wasn’t for me. I was never going to enjoy it after the Order 66 genocide apologia line. 🥶😒

But it is ABHORRENT how the actors have been treated by the alt right/dudebro members of the fandom who hate it for “wOkEnEsS 🤪”. 🤢 The people who harassed the actors from the beginning before even learning what the STORY would be like are just… horrible, HORRIBLE little people. And the way the actress for Osha has been treated is the worst of it all.

But anyway, I kinda went off on a tangent. 😅😂❤️ The point is that I feel you about anti Jedi SW fans posting in the pro jedi/Jedi tags. It sucks, but the best thing you can do is just block them for your piece of mind.

I’m just glad that The Acolyte won’t be around to continue to spread such anti Jedi resentment in the fandom. There’s already so much of it, and it’s always stomach turning to read people’s “hot takes 😒” on how the Jedi got what was coming to them or that they were “corrupted” or that Order 66 gave them the chance to “start anew” with Luke. 🤢🫠💔

does anyone know if the star wars rebel comics (specifically the magazine issues) are available to read anywhere online for free? Considering the comics seem to be pretty rare/people straight up don't know they exist I think I gotta explain what I'm actually talking about.

Officially titled "Star Wars Rebels Magazine" or the complete edition "Star wars Rebels (TBP)" is a magazine series published predominantly in Europe and later in the US. Whilst the magazine was aimed at kids, with art sections and coloring sections and whatever, the vast majority of the magazine issues also contained comics, usually at 10 pages long.

AND THE COMIC PORTIONS ARE ACTUALLY...GOOD (for the most part). see, the comics have actually been released separately (so without the magazine portion), you can either buy individual volumes (pictured below) or you can buy the complete edition (also pictured below).

I think people who are SW Rebel fans would really enjoy the comics. since some comics give extra context to existing episodes, include new characters, and honestly just have interesting premises. I do actually own a physical copy of the comics but cannot find a place online to actually read the comics for free. no pirating websites I've checked have the comic so i was literally wondering if it even exists online to read. If it doesn't I was hoping this post could also encourage someone else who also owns a copy to provide scans (i would do it myself but i have no resources such as a local library or a scanner to actually scan the comics). I really enjoyed these comics and wanted more people to know about them !

i also hoped this post would maybe inform people who really like Rebels that these comics do exist and maybe convince them to read it !!!

also some other notes i just couldn't figure out where to put:

the entire collection is 500 pages long and contains 39 issues in total

the comic series has multiple artists, meaning the art style changes from issue to issue. however most of the artists are pretty recurring so there's only about 5 (estimate) artists but its interesting to see the art style changes if you're into that

there are also different writers, which also change from issue to issue but are also pretty recurring as well (there's like 4)
