Author of the Week: Mu Su Li/
Books I've Read:
Copper Coins
First-Class Lawyer
Global Examination
Unseen Immortal of Three Hundred Years
Panguan
Read If You Like: Quite honestly? Anything. You want horror? Global Examination and Panguan. You want futuristic? First-Class Lawyer and Night. You want modern-day? Panguan. Want ancient setting? Unseen Immortal and Copper Coins. You want cultivation? Panguan, Unseen Immortal, and Copper Coins. Truly Mu Su Li is so versatile it's mindboggling. Even if you don't like a certain genre or setting, they will have written something that has been translated that will satisfy your cravings, as long as what you want is a romance about two men falling head over heels for each other (possibly many, many times). I can't even say that the main characters are exactly the same, they feel unique to their settings and in their relationships. Absolutely check this author out when you get the chance!
Avoid If You Don't Like: Honestly, the only thing I can think of that might be a turn-off is the amnesia trope. This author loves using memory loss/tampering as a plot-pusher, which may get repetitive for some, but it's always used in a unique way in each story so I don't mind. The only novel I've read so far that doesn't utilize that trope is First-Class Lawyer. But the stories, themselves, as so unique that if one doesn't match the vibe you want, you could easily pick up another that likely does. They are just that versatile. There are no downsides to trying this author out. Can't even say that common trigger content exists in their works outside of what you'd expect from the respective genre, like murder, mystery, and horror. If I had to say a negative, I'd just say that the worldbuilding in the futuristic settings are kinda not my thing (way too explanatory in a way that does not help me understand wtf is going on, but also I get confused easily by too-complex theoretical explanations), but that has never detracted from a story, so idk.
#human promotes#i love never knowing what i'm gonna get into#with a mu si li novel#they are really just that diverse#and yet every book i've read so far is a banger#i've got more on the list to read#but my criteria is '3 novels is good enough to promote'#and we are up to 5#(maybe 6 when i circle back around to Night)#mu su li would bless me so much if they decided to dip into baihe#one time for the one time

13 Books!
Yoinking this meme from @profiterole-reads
The Last Book I Read: I finished the YA graphic novel Kiss Number 8 by Colleen AF Venable last night.
A Book I Recommend: there aren't many books I'd recommend without knowing who I'm recommending it to, but The Alienist by Caleb Carr is fantastic.
A Book That I Couldn't Put Down: Little Mushroom by Shi Si
A Book I've Read Twice (or More): the Elenium trilogy by David Eddings
A Book on My TBR: my "next ups" are Thousand Autumns vol. 4 by Meng Xi Zhi and Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker.
A Book I've Put Down: it's been a long time since I've really had a DNF? One of the first books I can ever remember DNFing, when I was young, was book 1 of The Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, I just couldn't get into it.
A Book on My Wishlist: I don't have a wish list, most of what I want is pre-ordered and I'll get it when it's available.
A Favorite Book From Childhood: The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede
A Book You Would Give to a Friend: again it depends on the friend???? idek I don't think I can answer this one, no book is universal.
A Book of Poetry or Lyrics You Own: Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman
A Non-Fiction Book You Own: all of Stephen Sears Civil War battle analyses are fantastic.
What are You Currently Reading: Copper Coins by Mu Su Li
What Are You Planning on Reading Next: I already answered this on the "a book on my TBR" one, didn't realize it'd come up again, oops.
Tagging: anyone who wants to play! <3

Any light novels you’d recommend? :D
I've been reading a lot of Chinese danmei novels lately. It's difficult to recommend something because everyone has different tastes. But I can mention my favorites :D
Of the authors, I probably like Mu Su Li, Huaishan and T97 the most.
Mu Su Li:
• “Global Examination” is the story that actually fell into all my favorite plot tropes and is the first novel of the “unlimited flow” genre that I read (人*´∀`)。
• "First-class lawyer" - there's a bit of the "Ace Attorney" game vibe here and I like it (≧▽≦)
• "Black sky" - still in the process of reading, but again my favorite dynamic is enemies-lovers ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
--------
Huaishan:
• Po yun duology (“Breaking through the clouds” and “Swallow the sea”) - I love the detective genre and it’s good here ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
• "HuiTian" is also still in progress. There's a lot of drama, but also a lot of moments where I laughed until my stomach hurt (≧▽≦)
----------
T97 (TangJiuqing)
• Most people probably know about her novel “Bring In The Wine” (I’m just planning to read it), but I really like her sci-fi novels. These are two related stories "Time-limited hunt" and "Right on target" It's a little dark and dystopian, but with a happy ending. “Time-limited hunt” is generally the most unusual story for me, which also shocked me a little with the climax of the plot.
Another plus is that the main character of “Right on target” is literally a cat-boy =^w^=
----------------
Another favorite...
• "Dangerous personality" by Mu Gua Huang.
Also a detective and two main characters with unconventional thinking and investigative methods (which drives their policeman friend to a nervous tic :D). One of the main characters is severely mysophobic and has the ability of telepathy.
• "Little mushrooms" by Yi Si Shi Zhou.
There is a lot of tragedy and discussions about humanity here, but there is a happy ending. ಥ‿ಥ (Yeah, the main character is a mushroom that mutated into a human)
• "The Earth is online" by Mo Chen Huan.
Survival games with very tricky riddles, but at the same time with a degree of absurdity (where else will you see the main character fighting a huge talking turkey with a pink umbrella or a giant match???)
Very, very, veeeeery slow development of the relationship between the main characters, but filled with funny awkwardness (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
• "Survivorship bias" by Zhichu.
Also still in process. Survival games, unusual characters, and an amnesia trope (ㆁωㆁ)
-------
Okay, I think I've mentioned all my favorites. Thanks for the question! (≧▽≦)

Popular and popular-ish danmei books I ditched due to ➡️personal⬅️ tastes:
(Been a while since I attempted reading these, so if there are minor inaccuracies below, that’s why.)
• First-Class Lawyer/Yi Ji Lǚ Shi 一级律师 by Mu Su Li: the trials in the book are not bound by the laws of our real-world countries, and that’s fine, but I doubt that any fair legal system will allow major surprise evidence/arguments to be sprung on a party during the trial. To address each side’s reasoning properly during the trial, parties have to receive and get to know each other’s general arguments before the trial. How can you prepare a proper defence if you don’t understand the reasons and evidence behind the accusation? How can the prosecution deal with the defendant’s counter-arguments if they don’t know what they are until the last minute? Everyone has to generally understand each other’s POV beforehand. Furthermore, evidence has to be submitted for approval by the court before the trial to filter out irrelevant, bias-inducing evidence.
—From what I remember from my law course, that’s roughly how it works in the U.K., and I think that’s a fair way of doing things so I’d bet most civilised societies do that. The surprise-evidence plot twist smelled too illegal to me, so I was put off from reading the rest of the book.
• Priest’s books:
1. Sha Po Lang 杀破狼: stories with ancient yet non-xianxia/wuxia settings tend to bore me. Ancient yet non-xianxia/wuxia means the plot likely revolves around politicking and sometimes war, which I don’t like when they come in large (and male-dominated) spades because they’re too dry for me.
I love xianxia and wuxia so I thought I’d love these, but I just couldn’t keep reading far enough. Things were happening, but they weren’t riveting. I couldn’t get attached to the characters.
4. Zhen Hun 镇魂: I couldn’t get into it, partly because “modern + superpowers” isn’t a setting I usually like. (I do like it if it comes with a generous serving of humour, like in Depressed Husbands Want to Live a Peaceful Life by Cyan Wings.) Things were happening, but they weren’t riveting.
5. Mo Du 默读: one reason why I couldn’t get into it is because it’s a police story. Strangely, I love mysteries but not danmei police investigation novels, though I hope I’ll come to like them one day. (But I like police investigation fics! I guess I need to feel an attachment to characters first before they get involved in policing.) Another reason why I dropped it is that as I read many chapters into the book, there was still very little progress on solving a core mystery that the author periodically hinted it. It was kept very shadowy and vague, and while this can be acceptable in books, it was frustrating here because there weren’t other things along the way that made me feel “oh this is a fun journey”.
• Criminal Psychology/Fan Zui Xin Li 犯罪心理 by Chang Er: it’s a police story, so the first reason as the one for Mo Du applies
• Qiang Jin Jiu 将进酒 by Tang Jiu Qing: same reason as Sha Po Lang
• Golden Stage/Huang Jin Tai 黄金台 by Cang Wu Bin Bai: same reason as Sha Po Lang
• Thousand Autumns/Qian Qiu 千秋 by Meng Xi Shi: I found the protagonist, romantic relationship, and events (as far as I managed to read them) bland
• Little Mushroom/Xiao Mo Gu 小蘑菇 by Yi Shi Si Zhou: interesting setting, but there are three things preventing me from liking the book:
1. I usually don’t like danmei books that are wholly set in a futuristic dystopia. I don’t read danmei to enjoy imagining a world/society that’s similar to ours but more oppressive/painful.
2. The protagonist’s personality is too mild for me, and the love interest’s personality isn’t a type I like either.
3. Female suffering. I can’t forget that part of the book because it’s so realistic (kudos to the author), it feels like shit that would actually happen if our world were to face those conditions. Good for the story, but I read danmei to feel semi-free from gender inequality, so it’s not great for me personally.
• Tong Qian Kan Shi 铜钱龛世 by Mu Su Li: the plot and characters weren’t attractive enough
• Supernatural Movie Actor App 灵异片演员app by Xi Zi Ji Jiu: the horror wasn’t horrifying enough and the protagonist tried too hard to seem impressive
• Qi Zi 契子 by Yi Xiu Luo: the systemic inequality within spousal relationships in the book is too huge and oppressive for me to enjoy the story
• Ru Xi 入戏 by Tong Zi/Zhe Yi Mei Zhen: racist, and based on the part I read, it looks like it’s on track to treat its female characters badly too
• Welcome to the Nightmare Livestream 欢迎进入梦魇直播间 by Sang Wo: 1) it feels too video-game-like and unrealistic (some books, but not this one, have fantasy settings that feel viable, like they could actually exist); 2) I’m not attached to the protagonist, and 3) there is very little interaction between the protagonist and love interest.
• Pan Guan 判官 by Mu Su Li: I wasn’t attached to the characters
• Quan Qiu Gao Kao 全球高考 by Mu Su Li: I wasn’t attached to the characters
Law of Universal Enticement/Wan You Yin Li by 骑鲸南去 Qi Jing Nan Qu: great pun for the Mandarin title, but I don’t like settings that are too game-like; the two main characters were too perfect in some ways; and the method used by a character to successfully solve a problem in the very first arc was too unrealistic.
The Villain, He’s Excessively Beautiful by 骑鲸南去 Qi Jing Nan Qu: I only remember that I gradually lost interest in the plot. I might try to read this book again, but actually probably not; I’ve given second chances to highly recommended books that I couldn’t manage to like in the past, and I’ve never once succeeded.
• Some books by Yang Su 杨溯: a bit like Priest’s books, they fall into the category of “things were happening but they were strangely not riveting enough”.
Du E (I won’t attempt to translate this title before finishing the book in case it doesn’t convey the right meaning): I tried reading this novel twice—that was how much I wanted to like it
Marrying the Demon/Jia Mo
The Governer is Ill/Du Zhu You Bing
Among Yang Su’s books, I liked 深眠 Deep Sleep/Shen Mian and 凶祟 Creature of Malignance/Xiong Sui, the former more than the latter even though the love interest in the latter is one of my favourites. This is because the former is a shorter book with a brisker pace. Taking that factor into account alongside the books I dropped, it seems that I find Yang Su’s longer works draggy with too much space in between the hooks.
• 蝶变 Butterfly Metamorphosis/Die Bian by 麟潜 Lin Qian: I don’t like settings that feel like video games
Scary Stories About the Privately Funded Hospital at Tonghua Middle Road by 南琅要减肥 Nan Lang Yao Jian Fei: frequently recommended on Weibo when I looked up danmei horror novels, but I really don’t think it warrants such high praise. The writing quality is not high and up to the parts where I dropped it, it wasn’t very scary. I tried it twice.
I Attained Godhood in a Horror Game by 壶鱼辣椒 Hu Yu La Jiao: not scary. Not riveting either.
Tang Jiu Qing: the main characters’ personalities and plot weren’t interesting enough before I dropped it, though there was a mystery/adventure brewing
The Immortal Unseen for Three Hundred Years by 木苏里 Musuli: see here
• 闲与仙人扫落花 by 归鸿落雪: the world is cruel, but far more damningly, the main characters are too cold-blooded
• The Consequences of Mistakenly Saving the Villain 论救错反派的下场 by Feng Yu Nie 凤羽涅: I can’t clearly remember all the reasons why I dropped it, but I didn’t like the protagonist enough—was it some vague (fake?) Gary Stu vibes? Can’t remember—and the writing quality was not very high.

This is my 1st time ever actually participating in a tag game! Thank you to @7nessasaryevils for tagging me <3 Will only include explicit BL content here so as much as I love The Untamed, Guardian, etc. I won’t be including them.
1. your all time favorite bl and why
Bad Buddy. I remember when news, promo pics, and trailers 1st dropped for this series in December of 2020. I spent the majority of 2021 WAITING and had begun to think it’d be delayed but then it finally premiered and holy crap it did NOT disappoint! It’s such a refreshing take on a classic story. Our leads have phenomenal chemistry and they’re allowed to be casually intimate in ways that REAL couples are. They’re also the healthiest couple I can recall ever having seen portrayed in media. Their communication is so sexy. The story itself is progressive in how it subverts, actively addresses, and debunks typical and often toxic BL tropes. I could honestly go on forever. Needless to say, this BL has raised the standard for all shows that I watch.
2. that one bl that scarred you for life
Haven’t had any Thai bl scar me yet. That honor primarily goes to Taiwan and 2 come to mind for different reasons.
The 1st is History 4: Close to You. Ye Xing Si and Fu Yong Jie are the most toxic couple I’ve ever had the misfortune of knowing. Watching their entire dynamic made me extremely uncomfortable and angry.
The 2nd is History 3: Make Our Days Count…If any drama should be paying for therapy bills, it’s this one. If you know, you know.
Honorable Mention: Guardian. Know I said I was only gonna include explicit BL content but this one hurt me too much not to acknowledge. I read the nearly 1000 page novel immediately afterwards to heal my bleeding heart.
3. is there any bl that made you feel very single?
Kieta Hatsukoi (aka Vanishing My First Love - aka My Love MixUp!). They were just so sweet and soft and normal. There were no supernatural elements or dramatic setups. Just 2 lovely people getting to know each other and coming to love and respect one another.
4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?
“I’m not gay I just like this one guy…” Fuck right off with this bullshit. Being gay is not a sin and bisexuality (& pansexuality) exists!
5. That one bl you detest (don’t hold back):
EDIT - Whoops! Missed this one! THARNTYPE! Actors have great chemistry but the characters and their relationship are toxic as fuck byeeee
6. your top five:
This was hard and honestly subject to perpetual waffling after the 1st 3 that I’ve listed.
Bad Buddy - My #1 <3
I Told Sunset About You - I mean the TENSION. You could cut it with a knife. Great storytelling, directing, cinematography, acting. It drags you through the emotional ringer and it’s worth it.
Sotus - Look. Quality wise…I know it’s not necessarily amazing but those characters hooked their claws in me and I still love them to pieces.
We Best Love (season 1) - As I’m writing this I’m just now having the revelation that I am apparently obsessed with “rivals to lovers” storylines lol It just makes for such a fun dynamic. This drama is short and sweet and such a comfort watch for me.
My Engineer - Absolutely hilarious with such a great cast of characters.
7. that trashy bl that you lowkey like
In direct contradiction to my previous answer about History 4: Close To You scarring me…Xiao Li Cheng and Teng Mu Ren were super likable and had great chemistry. No idea how the same writers who created this delightful couple ALSO created the aforementioned toxic couple from hell.
8. your favorite korean bl (it’s important we know)
Where Your Eyes Linger. It was the 1st Korean bl I saw and I believe among the 1st made. The chemistry between the two leads was just too good. The way Kang Gook quietly yearns in silence for years while Tae Joo immediately starts toeing the line (much to Kang Gook’s torment) as soon as he realizes his own feelings. The way Tae Joo is technically in a position of power since Kang Gook is essentially his body guard but how their years of friendship muddy those waters. Tae Joo’s emotional vulnerability in contrast to Kang Gook’s surface level stoicism. Ugh. Fucking love it.
9. but also your top 3 for kbls
Where Your Eyes Linger
Light On Me - 10 out of 10. So sweet. Perpetually on the verge of edging WYEL out of the #1 spot.
Color Rush - I didn’t love the execution but I loved the concept and the leads were great.
10. season 2? which one?
My Engineer!!! I need more RamKing and also Thara and Frong. I’m still reeling from Thara’s oblivious “brother” bullshit. You know Frong be listening to Nanon’s “Just Friends” on repeat after that lol The sheer ridiculousness of this show brings me so much joy. I can’t wait for more.
11. a bunch of dramas will air soon. which ones are you the most excited for?
KinnPorchse - The development hell this drama got stuck in has had me stressed! Thankfully it seems to be coming along now.
Check Out - Just from the promo pics, the chemistry between these leads already looks great.
12. tag them!
@gguklita @jemmo @actually-yikes @yukikinns @asliceofoceanmist @ilove-gaycouples @that-bl-bitch @gracethegriffin @vaipou @gguklita @topcatnikki

QTVW Chapter 4
Future* President's Fiancee (IV)
----
An Mu Lan sat in the lounge, contemplating how to take revenge on Zhang Yao.
In terms of where Zhang Yao is depicted in the plot, she is a ruthless person with a heart of stone and an obsession with Ling Xihan that goes beyond imagination; unlike the others in the novel, she is very wary of her current self, which is not favourable for her to secretly exact revenge.
Thinking of this, An Mu Lan had an ominous feeling in her heart, Zhang Yao had treated the fiancées chosen by Ling Xihan, all at the first opportunity, and destroyed them with malicious tricks, so it seemed that Zhang Yao might strike at her soon. An Mu Lan shuddered at the thought of what that woman had done to the original owner.
She gritted her teeth and secretly thought to herself: She must not let go of Ling Xihan during this period of time, and must never give Zhang Yao the chance to harm her.
With this in mind, she took a college textbook out of her backpack and read it while keeping an eye out for people coming around her.
After waiting for an unknown period of time, An Mu Lan suddenly felt that someone was looking at her, she immediately raised her head and blinked to see that outside the lounge, Ling Xihan was discussing something with a group of people, that gaze just now was probably a casual glance from Ling Xihan.
When An Mu Lan saw the right person coming, she stuffed her books into her bag, and before she could walk over, Ling Xihan, who was on the other side, had already ended the conversation, and she walked over at that moment with a frown, looked at her, and asked with a cold face,
"What brings you here?"
An Mu Lan's expression froze and she stood up a little shakily, whispering to her,
"I ...... I prepared some lunch at home and thought it was mealtime and you probably hadn't eaten so I came over to give it... I'm sorry to have come so hastily and disturbed you? I'll leave now."
Ling Xihan also saw the lunchbox sitting on the sofa, and she narrowed her eyes at her and said,
"Now that you're here, come up with me."
As she spoke, she walked towards the door, tossed the stack of papers in her hand to the assistant on the side, gave a few words and headed for the lift.
An Mu Lan breathed a sigh of relief and thought: No matter what, we've passed this hurdle now!
She packed her school bag, then carried her lunchbox from the sofa and went after Ling Xihan.
When the two of them took the lift and reached the highest floor of the building, Ling Xihan passed Zhang Yao without a glance and walked towards the president's lounge at the far end of the building.
An Mu Lan glanced at the forlorn and sinister expression on Zhang Yao's face, and her steps became even larger as she hurriedly followed half a metre behind Ling Xihan.
The two entered the lounge one after another, Ling Xihan unbuttoned the top two buttons of her shirt and her delicate white collarbones were exposed, she sat casually on the chicly styled sofa, looking somewhat carelessly seductive.
An Mu Lan looked around the room and sat down on the sofa not far from Ling Xihan's side, she unpacked the lunch box and placed the meal inside on the wooden table nearest to Ling Xihan.
Having done so, with a subtle smile on her face, she said,
"I thought that the meals outside were mechanical and tasted rather monotonous, so I took it upon myself to come and bring you your meals, next time I will let you know in advance, and I hope you will not be angry with me."
With that, she handed the chopsticks to Ling Xihan and then looked at her with shining eyes.
Ling Xihan shook her head and said,
"Tomorrow at this time, you can just come straight to this lounge and wait for me."
In other words, she had given permission to An Mu Lan's actions.
An Mu Lan curled the corners of her mouth and sat down on the sofa, her eyes surveying the lounge.
She found that the style of decoration here was very similar to that of Ling Xihan's villa. The furniture here was monotonous, just two brown sofas of the same style, two short wooden tables, the rest of the place was empty, the colour of the walls and floor, all in serious cold tones, and this room was extraordinarily large, all these added up to bring a feeling of silence.
An Mulan sat quietly and waited until Ling Xihan had eaten her lunch, then she immediately helped to tidy up her lunch box, while Ling Xihan on one side looked at her with a sidelong glance and said to her,
"Tonight at the Li residence, there is a birthday party, you stay here and come with me when the time comes."
The Li family banquet? An Mu Lan's heart moved and her face smiled as she said,
"Okay."
Ling Xihan didn't stay in the lounge for long before she went out to work, An Mu Lan immediately followed her, Ling Xihan felt that she was extraordinarily close to her today, and after thinking about it, it was a good thing, so she didn't refuse her to follow her, and took her to the president's office next door.
An Mu Lan walked into the office against Zhang Yao's man-eating gaze, chose a chair nearby and sat down, watching Ling Xihan walk to her desk and check the signed documents. She also opened her backpack, took out the book she had been reading earlier and read it carefully.
But in her mind, she was recalling information about the Li family.
The Li family, a military and political family, is one of the three most famous families in the future world, along with the An family and the Qin family, and Ling Xihan has long been planning to enter the political world, so the Li family is also the one she needs to pay attention to.
After all, this is the first time that Ling Xihan has taken herself out, that is, to the outside media and the family, indicating the union of the two families, she will definitely be introduced to the people that Ling Xihan knows tonight, so this banquet in the evening, she must behave well and score extra points in the heart of Ling Xihan.
In the original owner's memory, she did not attend this party, because at that time, she was already locked up by Father An because of her withdrawal, and only afterwards did the original owner intermittently learn that the protagonist of this birthday party was none other than the eldest daughter of the Li family, Li Jiarou, whose twentieth birthday was that day.
Li Jiarou is also a pitiful person, and when she is mentioned, the book has a line about her: A noble woman with a delicate heart.
Since she was the only daughter of the Li family, she was treated very well by the Li family, so many celebrities were invited to this birthday party.
The banquet was a great success and the announcement of the marriage between the Li and Zhang families was made at the beginning.
But the next day, the major newspapers and media published a news article, "Li family's daughter, let loose, what is the reason for the **? The news was published. In the morning of the second day of the party, Li Jiarou was naked and entangled with seven or eight men in full view of the public.
Li Jialuo's reputation was immediately tarnished, the union was ruined and she committed suicide that day.
It is only in the middle of the novel that the truth of the matter is told in the mouth of the young master of the Zhang family, Zhang Yao's own brother.
In fact, it is the young master of the Zhang family, who has fallen in love with the heroine and is very dissatisfied with his marriage partner, but cannot refuse because of family reasons, so he thinks of such a way to solve the marriage problem and suppress the Li family's power, so that the family, which has been inherited for thousands of years, is finally ruined.
When An Mu Lan saw the plot, she said in her heart: The heroine in this novel is really a Mary Sue, all men fall under her skirt and all women end up in a bad way.
This kind of brain-damaged plus trivial novel is exactly the system's 'true love' ah, she as the virtual time and space manager, under the system's random screening, enter the mission world, complete the task, is also considered a de facto management of virtual time and space order.
An Mu Lan suddenly thought: this evening is the time for the banquet, she might be able to counter-use this matter to strike a good blow at the Zhang family forces and solve a big problem in her heart.
So, for the rest of the day, An Mu Lan spent the rest of the night in her head, rehearsing the flow of the evening's banquet, memorising all the key points in her head, and then waiting with wariness for the official opening.
She raised her head in a good mood and looked at the office, then her eyes naturally fell on Ling Xihan's body.
Ling Xihan was sitting in her office chair at this time, her face still had a cold and ruthless expression, her lips pursed up, her eyebrows gently knitted, the documents in her hands were converted very quickly, she stopped from time to time, then looked down again to sign something quickly and smoothly, her serious working appearance looked really eye catching.
Perhaps it was really because she was in a good mood that made An Mu Lan's gaze much bolder. Her gaze traced Ling Xihan's features, from her nicely shaped eyebrows to her narrow, dark eyes, her nose was straight, and her lips were very well shaped, with light pink lips that were slightly out of keeping with her temperament, but this face, indeed, was beautiful enough.
Even in this future world where everyone is beautiful, her face stands out!
An Mu Lan looked on with a smile, her eyes suddenly met with a pair of eyes that didn't show any emotion, and with a shudder she heard the owner of the eyes say,
"What are you looking at me for?"
"You look beautiful,"
An Mulan blurted out the words, then her heart rang with alarm, immediately seeing the other party's eyes narrowed, she had a thought and continued softly,
"...... I love it."
Her cheeks flushed when she said it.
Perhaps these words touched Ling Xihan's sensitive nerves, she let out a light laugh, tossed the pen in her hand to the side casually, then got up and walked in front of An Mu Lan, leaned over and pressed herself, her slim but tall figure completely enveloped the small An Mu Lan underneath.
She lifted An Mu Lan's chin in a frivolous movement, and her white, slightly cool fingertips slid down her cheeks to An Mu Lan's lips, then pressed and rubbed, as if feeling the softness of her lips with her fingers.
It was the first time that An Mu Lan had been so lightly and flirtatiously treated, and she was truly embarrassed, yet she was suppressed by the other party's aura and could not move, so she could only sit there, blushing.
An Mu Lan felt the fingers on her lips, tinged with her body heat, become warm, then those fingers suddenly increased in strength, picking down her lower lip, two fingers immediately knocking open her teeth and pushing in.
Two fingers made a mess of her mouth, pressing her palate one moment, pinning her tongue and molesting her the next, even shoving it harder and deeper inside, causing tears to well up in An Mu Lan's eyes in discomfort.
Ling Xihan's slightly narrowed eyes, looking at the girl's red cheeks, eyes with watery mist, clear tears as well as saliva crossing over, adding a few **/delicious tones to this scene.
Satisfied, she drew back her hand and rubbed her still salivated fingers over An Mu Lan's cheek, sliding it down one side of her earlobe to her collarbone, and only when she felt An Mu Lan's rapidly beating heart did she slowly draw back her hand and turn to walk back to her desk.
All that was left was a dumbfounded An Mu Lan, a flash of shame and anger on her face, and then a frantic cry in her mind: Hey! Have you washed your hands yet!?
Ling Xihan took out a tissue from the table to wipe her hands, then tapped on the electronic screen and said to the assistant on the other side of the screen,
"Bring over two gowns, one in my daily size and one in a princess dress."
The person across the screen seemed to ask some kind of question, then Ling Xihan turned around abruptly, sized up An Mu Lan from head to toe, and said
"36, 24, 34."
Then hung up the call.
A bunch of mud horses were running wild in An Mu Lan's head! How could this woman tell her 3 sizes just by visual observation!?
After this, until the little assistant brought in the dress, An Mu Lan kept her head hanging low, as if some precious flower had bloomed on the floor of President Ling, looking at it without blinking her eyes.
After placing the dress on the sofa, the assistant closed the door and left.
An Mu Lan looked at the dreamy pink dress, lifted it up and shook it, then turned it around several times and asked in a small voice,
"Is it time to change?"
Ling Xihan nodded and came over to pick up her dark-toned gown, saying,
"We'll be leaving in a few minutes, so change now."
With that, she began to unbutton her shirt one by one, locking her gaze on An Mu Lan.
She found that although Ling Xihan was tall and slim, her body had material where there should be flesh, her waist was particularly long, and under the wide shirt, her waist was terribly slim, but it did not give the impression of being fragile at all, because on it, there was a vague outline of four pieces of abs.
An Mu Lan: So strong!
Ling Xihan raised her eyebrows and took off her trousers and clothes, then asked indifferently while doing so,
"Get changed, what's the point of dawdling."
An Mu Lan felt that something was wrong, she felt that this person was very powerful, how did she manage to remain as calm as she could be in this ambiguous atmosphere? Facial paralysis is such a good thing!
As she furiously complained, she scowled and took off her coat and changed into her dress in a swift manner, only to have a tragic slip up.
Her hair, got caught in the zip on the back of her dress.
Ling Xihan had already changed into her dress, the long tight dress wrapped her figure perfectly, she looked at An Mu Lan who was busy, and then asked with great interest,
"Do you want me to help you?"
An Mu Lan immediately gave her a pitiful teary-eyed look, Ling Xihan couldn't help but laugh as she walked over, her slightly cool fingers seemingly unconsciously running across An Mu Lan's back, causing her body to tremble.
She turned her head carefully, the look of resignation on her face could not be concealed, Lingshihan suddenly felt guilty, she moved quickly to take out the hair in the zip, pulled the zip back, and secretly thought in her heart: this pitiful and innocent expression really suits An Mu Lan, she was eager to try it, thinking that maybe she could bully her like this more often in the future.
The unsuspecting An Mu Lan: ......
The author has something to say: Poor newbie begging for favorites and comments.
For the sake of the review, my high-spirited demeanour, ruined! _(:

Book of the Week: Unseen Immortal of Three Hundred Years
Author: Mu Su Li (木苏里)
Genre: cultivation, ancient setting, danmei
Rating: T
My Synopsis: Wu Xingxue thinks he's transmigrated into a xianxia novel. The rest of the world thinks the most fearsome demon in existence has broken out of the most impenetrable prison in existence. Xiao Fuxuan doesn't know how to break it to any party involved that their worldviews may be wrong...
My Review: I've never seen a couple in a cnovel as of yet that loves kissing at any opportunity than the main couple in this novel, and I am here for it! They remind me of a more overtly affectionate wangxian, and Wu Xingxue falls exactly into the niche of playful, teasing MCs who are good at bullshitting that Mu Si Li seems to have a lock on writing. The multiple intertwining stories as well as the mystery that the main characters must unravel as to what connects them all is very well put-together, and I loved the little breadcrumbs the author left early on that become vital to the plot near the end. The fan translation I read is also good in that it's understandable, but the dialogue choice is very... why do these character switch between Old English and American Southern dialect??? Why does this translator draaaaawl out random words that characters say??? Some translator quirks you simply have to close your eyes to in order to enjoy the actual novel, and the dialogue choices are this novel's "quirks."
Translation: complete fan translation but recently licensed by 7seas
#human promotes#unseen immortal of three hundred years#once again the fan translation is still floating around if you know how to look#but official channels have been removed#due to the licensing announcement#which is actually how i remembered to read it#i actually can't wait to see how the official is translated#because the weird dialogue was giving me official tgcf and mdzs war flashbacks#like that translator graduated from the school of suika on how to translate dialogue from 'relatable/casual characters'#just yuck#besides that this novel was a gem#the plot is great but i'd reread purely for the couple#i need them in a fluff-only setting ASAP!#get them out of this drama!!!

So I finally got around to watching history 4:close to you ...the stepbrothers -man that's some toxic shit ... manipulation ,r*pe ,drugging
Ah ,geez .I am appalled
Step brothers being in love is not a trope I am fond of me but this..... Consent is important, guys
Yes ,there have been occasions in media where there has been the portrayal of a black bellied ml and an innocent ml or vice versa -it's an interesting trope -if done well .even when tricks and emotional manipulation - as in throwing tantrums over trivial things -that's okay -that's doable .but they shouldn't harm one another (mentally, emotional or physically ) and that was abuse. There's no other term for it .no matter how sad of a sob story fu Yong jie had ,it doesn't change that he abused ye xing si .
On the other hand,mu ren and li Cheng were plenty cute ,the actors had good chemistry .was there story anything new ? No ,it was all the tried and tested old tropes of bl .the writing even felt lazy at times but it was watchable - having cliches is not a problem -i have read lots of fanfiction, web novels with the same themes, tropes ,I don't tire of it .but romanticising r*pe is not okay .

Eastern Palace Reading Guide+Epilogue Summary (Heavy Spoilers)
Fei Wo Si Cun’s Eastern Palace has been invading my feeling heavily for these past few days. I started reading the novel only a year ago since I’ve heard many good (bad) review of it. Some called it “the ultimate tragic story in the history of romance C-novels”. And that tells A LOT.
Long story short, since I knew that the novel isn’t completely translated I just let it be. Until early this year when I decided to gear up for the release of the drama adaptation, I found the summary spoiler-y page for the rest of the chapters that havent been translated. I read it, and.. I was so devastated...
Li Cheng Yin and Xiao Feng are....that thing... They conspicuously have infiltrated every quarter of my being. That being said I will definitely write more about them. This particular post is just gonna be a simple and summary guide to the Eastern Palace novel and its epilogue+a few additional chapters.
THE WRITING UNDER NUMBER 3 CONTAINS HEAVY SPOILERS, PROCEED ONLY IF YOU HAVE DONE NUMBER 1 AND 2.
How to read Eastern Palace in order.
1.
Let’s start with the translated chapters of Eastern Palace. There are a total of 42 chapters + epilogue chapter in Eastern Palace. Novel Update has them translated up to chapter 25, and here is the link https://www.novelupdates.com/series/eastern-palace/
----------------------------------end here--------------------------------
2.
Next, to get insight into what happens more in the flashback and what happens after chapter 25, basically you can go to this page, link http://xia0yuer.tumblr.com/post/24595824421/review-of-eastern-palace-and-scene-translation-an?is_related_post=1#axzz5fgRstQdU they did a one chapter translation and brief summary for the rest of the story.
---------------------------------end here---------------------------------
3.
So we have arrived at the edge of our demise. How could a story be this tragic, how could a character be this cruel. We all hate Li Cheng Yin. We root and cry for Xiao Feng. I was looking for an answer and it happened when an amazing Twitter friend of mine, Riya, who have read the rest of the chapters and the epilogue by herself enlightened me when I asked her opinion on whether Li Cheng Yin have truly loved Xiao Feng or not. She then told me the detailed explanation on what happened in the epilogue. I also then braved to read the epilogue myself.
I’ll give you the link to our Twitter conversation and the original novel (below this summary)
Twitter Conversation 1
Twitter Conversation 2
Twitter Conversation 3
Twitter Conversation 4
From Pei Zhao chapter, it is said that Li Cheng Yin never believed in the river of forgetfulness. So he was certain he will die with Xiao Feng the first time they jumped into the river. The second time Xiao Feng tried to kill herself, he was ready to jump following her but Pei Zhao held him back.
Pei Zhao also mentioned when he rescued both Li Cheng Yin and Xiao Feng from the river the first time they jumped together, he saw how their hands are tied together with a belt. Pei Zhao thought the prince must be wanting to be together with Xiao Feng in death.
The epilogue is set 30 years after Xiao Feng’s death and is in the POV of Pei Zhao’s son. Pei Zhao also had a daughter named Liu Niang (which eventually ended up together with Li Mu, Li Cheng Yin's son-this was written as separate short story). From here we learned that Li Cheng Yin had only two kids from different concubines. The two kids were also a daughter and a son, the daughter was named Chaoyang, while the son was named Li Mu (Amu). It is told that Chaoyang received Li Cheng Yin’s full love and was the most carefree and cherished person in the palace.
Li Cheng Yin conferred a title Queen of Mingde for his beloved crown princess Xiao Feng. It is also said that Li Cheng Yin never take anyone as his official empress after he took the throne as The Emperor.
Liu Niang, Amu, and Chaoyang liked to play together and they were close to each other. Li Cheng Yin believed Chaoyang was his daughter with Xiao Feng and told everyone that she really resembled Xiao Feng. In actuality, she wasn’t. Li Niang and Amu once asked a nanny is it true that Chaoyang looked like the late crown princess (Queen Mingde) and the nanny answered she actually did not. The nanny then described Queen Mingde as someone who is so beautiful and although she has thin and pale body, her beauty did not look anything like Central Plains’ women.
Eventually Chaoyang died. Li Niang and Amu were deeply sad about her death but she thought to herself that there was other person that was far more affected by Chaoyang’s death, and that was The Emperor.
Pei Zhao visited The Emperor in his old age and convinced him that Xiao Feng was long dead and Chaoyang was also not her daughter. Li Cheng Yin refused to believe it and kept saying that she was only going back to Xi Liang. Pei Zhao added a little detail by saying that more than 10 years ago he visited Xiao Feng’s grave and the grass was already so full, meaning that Xiao Feng had long gone and The Emperor should accept it
Some other additional details that Riya found from FWSC weibo and other fans’ page
Li Cheng Yin came across Xu Baolin (who was wearing red dress at that time) when he was drunk and fell for her silhouette that reminded him of Xiao Feng. Hence, Xu Baolin is pregnant.
FWSC wrote a deleted scene in the epilogue. Not long after Chaoyang’s death, Li Cheng Yin passed the kingdom to his son and he went to wall from where Xiao Feng jumped. He jumped and successfully took his own life in the same place Xiao Feng died.
The daughter name was named Chaoyang, but her pet name is actually A’Huang. Amu, her half brother liked to call him A’Huang too. It is said that the name A’Huang is based on the phoenix where the other word for phoenix was ‘Feng Huang’. So it might be related to Xiao Feng as well.
On the additional new scenes, it is revealed that Xiao Feng wasn’t actually her birth name and it was something like Malzima. It is the name of a tree with red leaves/maple. Gu Xiao Wu (Li Cheng Yin) told her that maple leaf is called “Feng” in Central Plains hence he gave her the name ‘Xiao Feng’, the ‘Xiao’ was added because there is ‘Xiao’ too in ‘Gu Xiao Wu’.
They had some pets together. She gave him her 2 gerbils to raise. One of them dies and he tries to find another gerbil which looks exactly the same because he didn't want to break her heart.
Note that both Riya and I read the epilogue with the help of google translate. So please take this with a grain of salt as the translation may not be accurate but it did give a brief and general understanding as to what happened in the epilogue.
Link to the original novel
Thank you for reading until the end, hope we can be sad together! Also feel free to correct me and tell me if you have come across other posts that have done another translation or brief summary on the epilogue or additional chapters part :D

22 Tahun
Rasanya baru kemarin aku nulis tentang masa pertumbuhanku hingga tahun ke-21 di sini. Sekarang udah 22 tahun aja. Gila, setahun cepet banget ya.
Rasanya baru kemarin aku matiin notif ulang tahun di semua sosmed (padahal udah setahun lalu, btw tumben banget kan! waktu aku smk boro2 matiin notif, malah suka pengumuman kalo minggu depan ultah wkwkwk), tak ada satupun yang ucap selamat ulang tahun di grup. Hitungan jari saja yang pc aku. Besoknya, EA main ke cirata, tak ada pula yg ingat kemarinnya aku ulang tahun wkwkwk beberapa hari setelahnya, Unpad wisuda, ku datang ke DU bersama beberapa teman. Tak ada satupun yg ingat aku ulang tahun wkwk
Tapi memang begitu tujuannya. Aku merasa terlalu lelah kalau setiap tahun harus membalas ucapan selamat tahun di grup (yg suuzon aku, hampir semuanya copy paste saja), yg entah berapa orang yg benar2 tulus mendoakan (soalnya aku sering gtu juga wkwk copy paste, maapkeun😂).
Tapi beberapa hari setelah itu tahun lalu, aku menyesal. Tiba2 aku ingat grup dakwah organizer. Hehe bener ga temen2, DO? tapi yasudah lewat, jadi tidak apa.
Hari ini aku tetap mematikan notif (LINE), tapi lupa matiin notif facebook :(( wkwkwkwk Rencana nya ingin hening2 lagi tapi tidak jadi😂😂 Terima kasih teman2 yg sudah mendoakanku huhuhu aku senang banyak yg mendoakan lancar skripsi, sesuatu yg sangat kubutuhkan saat ini, terima kasih ya!!
,

Perlu perjuangan banget buat buka dna menemukan handsfree nya wkwk😂
Terima kasih yaaa kaliaan!! I'm sorry if I couldn't thank enough that time karena sifat liana kelas 1 SMK tu masih nyebelin banget. Huhu Pokoknya terima kasih banyaaakkk, duo snack kiloan😂

,
Tahun ini...
Aku hanya ingin menjadi diriku apa adanya. Alasan aku menulis puanjaaang seperti ini pun karena aku hanya ingin menjadi liana apa adanya. Menulis sebagaimana adanya.
Ya Allah, aku ingin Engkau menjadi satu2 nya tujuanku. Dalam setiap hal kecil yg aku lakukan, aku ingin Engkau menjadi satu2 nya alasan. Maka istiqomahkanlah aku. Semoga aku terus bersemangat mencari ilmu.
Menjadi pembelajar setiap hari.
Beberapa waktu lalu, kakaku pernah bilang,
Terimakasih❤

Almost half of all new drug approvals in 2018 relied on one clinical trial
Back in the 1970s and 1980s, the FDA made clear that at least two adequate and well-controlled studies were necessary to establish a new drug’s effectiveness, except in only the rarest of circumstances.
Then in 1997, the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act was passed, and Congress clarified that the FDA may consider “data from one adequate and well-controlled clinical investigation and confirmatory evidence” to approve a new drug.
But in guidance from 1998, the FDA says that its reliance on only a single study “will generally be limited to situations in which a trial has demonstrated a clinically meaningful effect on mortality, irreversible morbidity, or prevention of a disease with potentially serious outcome and confirmation of the result in a second trial would be practically or ethically impossible.”
The agency also explains the persuasiveness of using two studies versus one.
“Whether to rely on a single adequate and well-controlled study is inevitably a matter of judgment. A conclusion based on two persuasive studies will always be more secure than a conclusion based on a single, comparably persuasive study,” the guidance notes.
Aaron Kesselheim, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, told Focus: “Historically, the FDA guidance seemed to indicate a preference for two adequate and well-controlled trials since any single trial may be subject to unanticipated or undetected systematic biases. Of course, in some cases, the clinical need is high enough or the drug’s efficacy is powerful enough that a single trial should be sufficient at least for initial FDA approval.
“But reliance on a single trial—particularly if that trial is single-arm, unblinded, or evaluates unvalidated surrogate measures as the endpoint—increases the risk to patients that the drug may not work as well as expected (or, separately, may have safety issues that outweigh its benefits). It would be useful to clearly inform patients when a new drug is approved on the basis of a single pivotal trial and follow those drugs more closely after approval, with the idea of formally revisiting their benefit-risk balance in the future. But studies unfortunately show that postmarket requirements are often not followed up completely or in a timely fashion,” Kesselheim added.
Approvals Based on a Single Trial According to a 2014 JAMA study, between 2005 and 2012, the FDA approved 188 novel therapeutic agents for 206 indications, and 74 indications (36.8%) were approved on the basis of a single pivotal trial.
Most recently, IQVIA released a report finding that 25 of 59 (42%) novel drugs approved in 2018 were approved on the basis of only one trial. And one out of eight approvals relied only on Phase 1 or 2 trials, with no Phase 3 trials. But as in previous years, a large portion of the drugs relying on only one trial were new orphan and cancer drugs.
For instance, AstraZeneca’s orphan drug Lumoxiti (moxetumomab pasudotox-tdfk) was approved in September 2018 based on one trial of less than 100 patients with a rare, slow-growing blood cancer. Stemline Therapeutics also won approval in December 2018 for Elzonris (tagraxofusp-erzx) to treat a rare, rapidly progressing cancer of the bone marrow and blood after conducting one trial of 94 patients in the US.
Other cancer drugs, meanwhile, won approval after larger single trials.
Pfizer’s Vizimpro (dacomitinib), for example, was approved in September 2018 on the basis of one clinical trial of 452 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer in Asia. Array Biopharma’s Braftovi (encorafenib) was approved in June 2018 on evidence from one clinical trial of 383 patients with BRAF V600 mutation-positive melanoma that was advanced or could not be removed by surgery. The trial was conducted at 162 sites in Europe, North America and elsewhere.
And Advanced Accelerator Applications’ Lutathera (lutetium 177 dotate) was approved based on one trial of 229 patients with a specific type of rare tumor at 41 sites in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, UK and the US.
But not all the new drugs approved in 2018 based on one clinical trial were cancer treatments. For instance, Achaogen’s Zemdri (plazomicin) was approved in June 2018 as a complicated urinary tract infection treatment based on one trial of 604 patients in Europe, the US and Mexico.
Paratek Pharmaceuticals also won approval for its antibacterial medicine Nuzyra (omadacycline) in October 2018 on the basis of a single trial of 774 patients with community acquired bacterial pneumonia at 86 sites in Asia, Europe, Israel, Latin America, South Africa and the US.
But Kesselheim said he does not think this is a recent shift to the use of one pivotal trial, and he did not know if the 42% figure from 2018 “is a sign that the number is creeping higher or just normal year to year fluctuation.”
The IQVIA report also reports a slight uptick in the number of pivotal trials in 2018 being randomized controlled trials compared to previous years and that active control arms were more common in 2018 than recent past years.

Book of the Week: Copper Coins
Author: Mu Su Li (木苏里)
Genre: ancient setting, cultivation, danmei
Rating: M (mostly for non-graphic sexy times)
My Synopsis: After unintentionally capturing a dragon in a paper doll body, amnesiac Xuanmin ends up embroiled in the mystery behind who plotted against Xue Xian as well as where his memories have gone. Along the way, will the two's new comraderie survive the hidden secrets of their shared past that could drive them apart?
My Actual Review: Woo, another amnesiac story from Mu Si Li! It's funny, though, because Xuanmin's lost memories actually do sort of the opposite of what it would in a traditional amnesiac plotline, but I can't reveal that because spoilers. I will just say that the shit that happened to Xue Xian? Everybody involved needs to burn in hell for that. On another note, this is probably the first novel I read (and it has been followed by other Mu Si Li novels since) that made me feel like a character was actually like Wei Wuxian, and that was Xue Xian, who feels like a mix between Wei Wuxian and (briefly) Wenren È. I loved each arc in the story and how every little mystery slowly led a trail to how Xuanmin and Xue Xian connected, and don't get me started on the romance. This author is just sooooo good with writing romances that make my heart melt.
