primarily takes after Sonic, taking over the day shift of watching Green Hills and the 'hero' mantle. beloved face. helps grandmas across the street. avid errand runner. has helpful big brother/camp counselor vibes!

🌖 At first I named him Breaker as a shorthand for 'daybreak' (his twin being named Dusk) and thought it was stupid (bc Sonic would name his kid something stupid) but the more i thought about it.. the more it worked.. windbreaker…. circuit breaker…a breaker being a heavy sea wave connecting to Sonic's fear of water..breaks/brakes… mm wordplay

very aloof! enjoys life. loves hiking. he loves anything with a good view. prefers to take it a day at a time, if given the choice. has a curiosity and interest in the powers and skills of others

he's incredibly strong w/ powers including electricity + Chaos Control/time-space manipulation (and still wearing limiters)

he is extremely tactical with when and how he uses Chaos Control. Breaker wouldn't use his Chaos Control on new opponents, choosing to rely on speed and fistpower. If he did, he'd make it seem that he was just extremely fast getting places, using the shadows of his opponent and surrounding environment to slip between places

ever since he was a little, Breaker’s always come out on top. he’s always looked up to heroes, naturally- after all both their fathers were. and he’s settled into the role quite nicely, one of Green Hills’ very own, and just as beloved. all the townsfolk know him, all the women fawn over him, a true bonafide role model. But even his twin brother Dusk wonders/isn't sure if thats really what he wants or if its simply a role he’s acclimated to.

Breaker has a bit of an iceberg to his character. Most people see the very top layer, what they see day-to-day of the young aloof Mobian heralded as "Sonic and Shadow's son". there's something else that goes on beneath..

his powers essentially distort him from living the same wavelength as others. Like that moment in Sonic Prime where Sonic is going so fast, time has essentially stopped for everyone else. Tapping into this power has led him to believe he is invincible in ways, but not entirely. he enjoys all the scuffs, he enjoys what life has to throw him, his friends, etc. It keeps him grounded. as a result, he has a curiosity when he finally gets to dance with danger one-on-one like the average Mobian. he appreciates any opportunity to throw himself into dangerous situations because he enjoys the thrill of possibly getting hurt, as the pain allows him to feel 'mortal'.

One of his core principals is that he doesn’t want people hurt. He wants people safe. But sometimes it's unsure if thats the case or if its because he wants other people out of his way so he can set the stage between just him and his opponent.. and thus, minimize the collateral damage/cleanup.

He is rather tactical outside of battle too and does especially well in social settings. he already has the chops for it, being charismatic from the getgo- but he knows how to set people/things/his environment up in ways that would allow him to get that final push for things to successfully go his way without anyone being aware he had pulled any strings at all. he is incredibly observant, and always picking up on the finer details. his penchant for people-watching both comes in clutch as a both hobby he truly enjoys in the present and something that could help him in future instances. the "kill two birds with one stone" type. maybe three, if the winds decide it that way.

Whether Breaker wants to admit it or not, he cares about his image. Although his swagger comes quite effortless, he cares how the townsfolk perceive him, not just for the sake of vanity or narcissism but because he understands that people need an idol- they need guidance. That's what his dad was, and that's what he's for. It's what the stars were here for-- people had to look up to somewhere (or someone) for answers. He understands that he is something like a guiding light, a north star- but if they choose to refuse him, it's no skin off his back bc that’s their choice. He doesn't interfere with the choices people decide to make for themselves.

Breaker is a weird paradox character. where he's direct and very upfront, he is also so incredibly indirect about stuff too. Bro's always contradicting himself which makes it very hard for anyone to really pinpoint just what he's thinking beyond what they might know from the "hero" image he shows off once they truly get to know him.

Being good is a choice for him. But it's a choice he doesn't think about and something he's trained himself to wholeheartedly believe is instinct, as he doesn't believe himself to be a bad guy (and he isn't!) But it's like making a lie real and true.

Breaker, like his brother, has his own brand of isolation. Because of his powers, he lives on a different wavelength to other people. Always looking things through a window. He can look close enough to pretend the glass isn't there, that he's with there with everyone else, but there still exists that separation. So he chases after whatever makes him feel 'alive' and in the moment with everyone else.

“Him again?”

You adjust the straps of your top before twisting and turning to get a better look at your outfit. “Mhm,” you hum in response. “Said he needed help asking someone out today. I’m gonna help pick the flowers.”

Togame's eyes narrow a bit at the obvious intent of your friend. It didn’t help that you really didn't have a single clue in the world, and on top of your obliviousness— you're dressed so cute.

The combination was just a recipe for disaster, and he wants to finally put an end to it today.

“Ah— what are you doing?” You yelp when he suddenly tugs at your wrist, pulling you off balance as you stumble and fall onto his lap. His arm comes to loop around your waist before you can even stabilize yourself, hugging you tight against his chest.

“Togame, let go.” You whine, “I’m gonna be late!”

“Don’t wanna.”

The casualty of his tone makes your eyebrow twitch. He almost sounds bored with how slow the words come out of his mouth, and despite that fact, his arm doesn’t seem to budge at all when you try and push against him.

“Plus…..” he’s choosing to ignore your efforts to move him— or he just doesn’t notice them in the first place. “You don’t need to meet with a guy like that anyway.”

“And why is that?” You retort, arms crossing in frustration as you give up and resort to simply glaring back at your boyfriend. “..Are you jealous?”

“Course I am, doll.” He grins, fingers pulling your top’s strap out of the way before his lips attach themselves to the side of your neck, sucking at the skin as you shiver. His hand tilts your jaw to the side, giving him the space he needs to better suckle and kiss your neck.

You can’t help the little noise that slips out when he releases the skin with a loud pop, exhaling deeply against you before peppering kisses beside the dark mark he's given you.

“Can’t stand when guys are tryna get at what's mine.”

HAYATO SUO. reader described as having hair you can hold up (ie moving it to adjust a necklace)

“That friend of yours..” Suo coos against the shell of your ear, “really likes you, doesn’t he?”

He’s looming right over you, his familiar smile looking a little different today when his arms are caging you right beneath him, and you suck in a sharp breath when he leans down, tassel earrings tickling the sensitive skin of your neck.

“H-huh? He does?” your voice comes out a little breathless from the way his lips are just barely hovering over your skin.

“He does. You couldn't tell?”

In any other situation, he would think your innocence would be endearing. But after watching your friend get all close to you like that, holding your hair up and then fixing your necklace for you— he couldn't help it. A part of him is thankful for how steady his voice comes out, because you'd never be able to guess that just below his calm exterior- he was absolutely fuming with jealousy.

“No, I didn't know.” You whisper. “But you know I would've turned him down if he said anything-”

“I can help with that.” He interrupts, tone sweet and soothing. He plants a kiss just below your ear, his breath grazing your ear, and it sends a shiver straight down your spine.

“H-how?” you squeak.

You can feel him smile against you before his hand comes to tilt your head to the side, exposing more of your neck for him. “Just like this.” He whispers before he's taking a sharp inhale, lips latching onto you as he sucks harshly.

The noise that comes out of you riles him up even more. He’s sucking harder before he even realizes, calm demeanor crumbling just a bit when he hears the noises you’re making just for him.

You think you felt his teeth graze your neck for a second when he releases the skin, pulling back a bit to admire the mark he’s left on your neck.

“It’s a good idea, right? Turn your head the other way for me now.”

KAJI REN. calls you ‘my girl.’

“W-what's wrong, Kaji?” You manage to stammer between kisses. “You’re a lot rougher today— is something on your mind?”

He pulls back a bit when your hands tug at his hair, a part of him content when he sees the way your lips are slightly swollen, your mouth parted to catch your breath as your chest rises up and down from the intensity.

There was a lot on his mind, but marking you up was at the forefront of his brain. He could already tell that only kissing you just wasn’t gonna cut it after all that’s happened today.

“‘S fine.” He mutters before he’s back on top of you, his lips roughly latching onto the skin just beneath your collarbone, sucking at the skin as you gasp above him. “Oh— t-that feels good,” your voice comes out as a breathy sigh, “are you… mad still?”

“Mad at that friend of yours.” He growls against your skin, pressing a quick kiss onto the mark until he's moving onto another part of your neck, lips hovering just below your ear. “He was tryna get at my girl right in front of me.”

“I’m sure he wasn't— ah!” You gasp when his arms wrap around your middle, pulling you flush against his body as he tilts his head to better nestle into the crook of your neck.

“Got me pissed off just seeing him looking at you like that.” His teeth graze against your skin when he sucks particularly hard. “Gonna make sure he’ll get a nice and close look at these next time.”

SAKURA HARUKA.

Kissing Sakura is much, much different today.

He’s rough— hands trailing along your back, sending an shiver straight down your spine as he deepens the kiss, breaths mingling with urgency. The way he’s kissing you so desperately today has little gasps escaping your lips, which do nothing but encourage him to touch you more.

“F-fuck,” he gasps between kisses, pulling back to inhale sharply before your fingers come to tangle in his hair, pulling him right back into you.

“Someone's in a bad mood.” You giggle, and he scoffs in response, a dusting of pink over his cheeks. “‘M not mad.”

“You sure? What’s got you so worked up?”

And he hates that he doesn't know. He doesn't know what this feeling is, so he has no idea how to get rid of it. All he knows is that it didn't feel nice when he saw your friend all up over you.

It should've been him instead— he thinks. And all he wants now is to have you.

Your breath hitches in your throat when his lips begin to trace a path down your neck, pressing wet kisses between each inch of skin. “I don't know,” he admits through a deep blush, “just want…this.”

Just thinking about the earlier events makes his blood boil again, and it shows in his next kiss. He accidentally sucks at your neck for a moment, and a lewd moan slips right through your lips.

Your hand slaps over your mouth a moment too late, and he freezes in place, deep blush spreading to his ears at the sound. He’s never heard you never make that noise before.

“D-don't stop, Sakura,” you urge, tugging at his hair, “feels good.”

He pulls back a bit to roughly shake his head, shake off the irritating blush before his eyes finally flicker towards the subtle mark he’s left on your skin. It’s a deep shade of purple, and something about it makes him feral— it scratches at the itch he’s had all day.

He doesn’t think he’ll be stopping anytime soon, at least.

“F-fine,” he growls. “Turn your head.”

UMEMIYA HAJIME.

Umemiya sighs when your phone buzzes again, the sound catching your attention as you scroll to check your messages again. You’re leaning back against ume's chest when you open it, letting him rest his head on your shoulder with a dramatic pout.

“He’s tryna steal you away from me,”’he whines, arms hugging tightly around your core. “S no fair.”

How you were able to reduce bofurin's strongest— the one standing at a staggering 6’2 to a needy little puppy is beyond him. But in his defense, he thinks he's been waiting for your attention for ages by now.

It seems like the second you're finally putting down your phone to turn your attention to him is the exact moment your friend decides to send yet another message, your phone buzzing from the notification— and your attention shifts back to that guy just like that.

It’s a never ending loop, and he's getting desperate.

“He’s not, Haji,” you mumble, fingers clicking at your screen. “He’s just my friend. And he’s asking to get dinner with everyone tomorrow.”

You don't notice the way his bottom lip pokes out in a pout, eyes then narrowing into a glare directed at your screen before he's pulling you a bit closer to himself, arms holding you impossibly tighter against his chest.

It really wasn’t fair.

It only takes a few more seconds of pouting before his eyes suddenly flicker to the bare skin of your neck, and he perks up when he thinks of an idea. A great idea.

“..Are you gonna go with them? Tomorrow?”

You give him a nod, and if Umemiya had a tail— it would be wagging now. His lips start to excitedly ghost over your skin, taking in the scent of your perfume, and his gaze is focused and intentional as he tries to gauge your reaction.

Nothing, so far.

So he presses an experimental kiss onto your shoulder, eyes watching you closely— and still nothing. You only perk up a bit when he finally decides to proceed with his plan and takes the skin in his mouth, sucking at it for a bit before releasing it with a lewd pop.

"Haji— d-did you just leave a mark?”

“I did.” He’s grinning now, staring at the mark he's left— and he thinks it's surprising dark for how gentle he was. It was only the first one tonight, after all.

you’d be standing with the team, chatting with someone from hospitality in a black skirt and cute top, and as soon as he spots you, it’s all, “where’s the red baby? no jacket today? not even the cap?”

and he’s half-joking but also not.

so you’d roll your eyes, dig through your tote bag, and throw his hoodie on and immediately he’s satisfied.

he’ll secretly take pictures of you when you’re not looking. wearing his oversized windbreaker with sunglasses on, sitting in the back of the garage like a damn queen, and saves them in a hidden album titled “mon ange.” most of your insta pics from race weekend if from this folder (if he feels generous enough to share them with the rest of the world and not gatekeep them)

and when a fan posts a blurry picture of you two holding hands post-quali and captions it “power couple in red,” he sends it to you with a heart and a “we look good, non? i love when we match outfits”

he totally gets all soft and boyish whenever you’re in team gear. like you’re his little good luck charm in red.

charles isn’t really big on pda at the paddock, but his hand always finds yours when you’re walking together. pinkies linked, fingers brushing. he makes sure you’re close to him and can keep up while walking into the chaos of the weekend.

when you attend he has to kiss you before every practice/quali/race. right cheek, left cheek, forehead. it’s a thing. can so see this being filmed by someone and it blows up cause everyone just thinks it’s the cutest thing. pierre commenting “he never kisses me like this before a race😒” and charles responding with “it’s wifey privileges😇”

he writes your initials on the inside of his gloves in marker. it’s not a big thing, no one knows but you and him. but before every race, he looks down at them and kisses them.

if a commentator ever tries to stir drama about your presence being a “distraction” charles shuts that shit down instantly. “she’s my calm. not a distraction. if anything, I drive better when she’s here.”

late night after race day, when it’s all over and he’s showered and in a hoodie with damp hair, he pulls you into his lap and murmurs, “I like this part the best. just us. no cameras. no noise.”

lando would try to be lowkey about you coming to the race but he would fail miserably because he just looks so much more happy and excited and everyone wants to know what’s going on that has him in this good of a mood until eventually they see you walk into the paddock on saturday and everything makes sense all of a sudden.

if you wear his number on your outfit (especially in a subtle, fashion-y way), he will always post it on his story. a close up pic of your shoulder with the little ‘4’peeking out and the caption: “best looking fan in the paddock”

lando loves loves loves a pre-race nap with you. he’s so clingy about it. burrito’d in the duvet, face smushed into your neck, hair all messy, mumbles like, “don’t leave. you have to stay until my alarm. it’s science”

hates all the attention he’s getting from everyone but with you there it’s a little more bearable.

if the race doesn’t go as planned, he goes straight to his driver room and you’d be unsure what to do at first, choosing to give him some space but he texts you and tells you to come to him.

and the two of you just stay in there for a bit. cuddled up together. you’re not saying anything, not trying to make him feel better, just letting him be whatever he needs to be for a bit.

“you still proud of me?” he’d mumble after a while and when you answer with a reassuring “always” he already feels ten times better

loves that you get on with the rest of the grid’s girlfriends so much but is such a little baby about not having all your attention on him

“we have to do something about all our girls sneaking around to see each other man. we’re losing them. they’ve unionized. she said ‘I’ll meet you after quali’ and then disappeared into wag dimension” he’d complain to the guys at the drivers parade

“what? you upset that she’d rather hang out with the girls than give you back rubs?” carlos teases and lando shrugs “yes actually”

he’s a slut for forehead kisses before he gets in the car. will literally lean down and go, “give me the magic touch,” and tilt his head like a puppy until you do it.

carlos constantly thinks you’re hungry. doesn’t matter if you just ate. if he walks into hospitality and sees you without a snack or drink in hand, he’s immediately like, “did you eat? what did you have? that’s not enough. I’ll get you something”

he keeps an extra water bottle on hand just for you. even on race day when he has a million things going on, he’ll pause and be like, “drink some water, mi amor. It’s hot today”

so protective in the paddock. always walks a little in front of you to shield you from cameras, media, random people rushing around.

one time a cameraman brushed your shoulder trying to squeeze past and you stumbled just slightly. carlos caught your waist immediately, steady and quiet, eyes flicking up with that calm but don’t test me look and muttering a soft “careful” to the man. not rude. not loud. just firm enough to say this is my girl. watch where you’re going.

carlos is a post session cuddler. he showers, throws on a hoodie, and climbs right into bed with his head on your stomach. ‘just for five minutes’ is what he always says but will wake up 40 minutes later and be like, “okay, now I’m ready to go to dinner”

uses you as his personal belongings holder while he races. will put his sunglasses on your head and his watch around your wrist. tell you to, "keep 'em safe for me 'til I come back okay?" with a kiss to your head before he jumps in the car.

will make you have little ‘taste tests’ with him rating the paddock/hospitality food. you guys have little favourite dishes from countries all over the world.

ೀ ⋆ 𝒍ewis 𝒉amilton

when lewis knows you’re attending a race with him, he makes sure the team knows so you get VIP treatment the whole weekend.

right there next to his crew, there’s a sleek black seat with your name stitched into the back and next to it is a smaller seat for roscoe. you and roscoe chill next to each other and cheer him on together.

someone will come up to you every thirty minutes or so and ask if they can get you anything. will bring you water and your favourite snack unrequested and when you try to protest they’ll just say the boss insisted on it and they’re not about to get on his bad side.

lewis is of course known for his high fashion in the paddock, but he also loves matching outfits with you. not the whole thing maybe, you both have your seperate tastes and styles but maybe you’ll always colour code. or wear the same sneakers! and roscoe will have the same colour bow tie or jacket or something.

when lewis has braids done, he’ll sometimes ask you to tie them back for him before he heads to the car or during race weekends. it’s such a sweet moment because, while he’s incredibly independent and most of his race rituals are isolated, he enjoys having that little moment with you before things get hectic. it’s something personal and intimate.

similar to carlos he’ll have you hold his accessories. put his chain around your neck and his rings on your fingers until he’s done racing.

there are so many pics/vids of the two of you on lewis’ scooter just zooming around in the paddock. nearly running over people or one of you falling off and laughing. you guys will do the ‘track walk’ on the scooter and maybe he’ll let you control it. make jokes about you’re racing skills. “aw you went outside track limits there baby, gonna get us a penalty” he’d tease with a kiss against your head.

likes it when you drive to the track cause he’s gonna be driving all weekend and it’s nice to just shut his brain off a little before the hectic day starts.

has you name tattooed on his chest right over his heart and your name on his helmet.

this boy loses you constantly over the weekend😭 let’s blame it on you a tiny bit for just being so interested in everything that you walk a bit slowly sometimes or your attention gets caught and you’ll stop for a split second and when oscar turns to look at you, you’re gone.

half of his netflix clips are just ‘man I lost my girlfriend again. I never know where this girl is’

it’s become a bit of a running joke in the mclaren garage cause oscar will poke his head in every room and be like ‘have you seen my gf?’ the crew starts putting up reward flyers for when you’re found

but this is how his little handholding habit started. he constantly reaches for your hand or loops his finger in your belt loop to ensure the two of you don’t wander away from one another.

can see you losing your lipgloss once in the paddock and ever since then oscar has gone full airport dad mode every time you leave the paddock. ‘you have your phone? lipgloss? glasses? jacket?’ and will run through the little checklist until he’s sure you have all your possessions.

will make sure the two of you actually spend time together when you’re there. don’t get me wrong he’s 100% focused on racing still, but every free moment he has you guys are watching your show together or playing board games or something. just makes such an effort to actively spend time with you.

the two of you take a photo before every race (if you’re there) it started as a little habit for his mom because she’d always ask for a picture of the two of you over the weekend and since then you just always take a picture and it’s pretty sweet to think you’ll have your memories captured at most races he competes in during his career.

the #1 reason pierre brings you is so that he has someone to blame when he’s late to events. he’s chronically late as charles exposed and whenever someone calls him he’ll just say he’s waiting on you 😭

like charles calling him before dinner and asking why he’s late and he just goes “my girl takes forever to get ready you know by now” with a wink towards you and a kiss against your palm when you slap him for his antics.

this man is not afraid of pda. arm around your waist, thumb stroking your hip. holding your hand while walking through the paddock. hand on your thigh in the hospitality tent. always touching you in some way. and if anyone chirps him? “what, i’m french. we’re affectionate”

he gives you an important job. pierre claims you’re vital to his race prep, even if it’s just handing him his water bottle or double-checking his suit zipper. “don’t forget to give me my good luck tap, baby. left shoulder, always. if I crash, it’s on you and my mechanics will blame you” he’d tease and even tho he’s just joking he loves how serious and focused you are when you do that left side tap.

he’ll jokingly narrate your every move. walking up to the garage? “and here she comes, the love of my life, looking like a goddess on this sunny grand prix morning” you’re just holding his coffee and shaking your head, but it’s gets filmed and the fans are obsessed with how cute you two are.

Sakura just wants to spend time with you ! But only you two, because you always end up hanging out as a group, so this time he might invite you over. He made you a cute card for sure, relying on Kotoha's and Nirei'd supplies, and probably got you a cake you like to spend the afternoon talking with you. 

Suo takes you on a date to a cute Cafe. He did his research before and also asked Kotoha for her honest opinion – even if he's rather confident. He doesn't have much money so he prefers to make some memories and for you to enjoy your afternoon with him rather than simply receiving something. He's much more into spending time with you than buying you gifts, it feels empty to him. 

Umemiya if there's, by any chance, a funfair or any kind of festival he would take you there and win gifts for you there ! He loves showing off to you and even more if he can make you happy with it. You'll get all the plushies you want and more ! He'd love to have matching charms or masks with you as well.

Kaji makes you a playlist that he put himself on a cd. He's really mindful about it, mixing music you like with some he associates with you or even some of your favorite soundtrack/anime opening. He also put in the effort on the cd case and drew small stars/doodles around it with a sharpie. If you don't listen to it with him, or at least send him a reaction text at each song he chooses, he'll get sulky.

Ren felt strange around you. It wasn't bad, in any way, it was just shocking how relaxed and calm he could feel when you were near. He was scared about hurting you, always had and always will be. Yet, somehow your presence in itself calmed him down. No matter how angry he got, you were his remedy. The both of you found out about it even before getting to know each other. Soon enough you learned that your touch and soothing voice were all it took to bring him back from his monster side. You just had that something that brought relief to Ren, and the fact that you didn't need to use any power was shocking for his and your friends.

As soon as he met you, he knew he had to keep you close, as his friend. And you were happy to befriend him making him one of your longest childhood friends, someone very special.

Kaji first saw you, or more like heard you, after he beat up some kids, that were bullying him. His eyes were darkened and fist tightened even after the fight. It was something that always happened after his monster side took over. He couldn't do anything just letting loose the anger that did whatever it wanted. He was frantically looking around trying to find another target to beat up when he noticed someone similar in his age walking slightly away.

Immediately he got ready to attack and launch at you but something stopped him. His head tilted curiously hearing quiet voices coming out of your mouth. Your hums were out of whatever tune you recalled in your mind but they were continuous, and they were grounding. Making Kaji slowly come back from his monster side. His eyes widened when he came to and noticed that it wasn't because of Hiiragi knocking him out. He turned around searching for something that helped him when his ears caught your humming intertwined with some words that fell out of your mouth.

The moment a thought that it's because of you crossed his mind he was set on you following behind you, at what he thought was enough of a distance to hide.

That day he "walked" you home for the first time, it became his routine, hoping to get to know more about you. You weren't all that unaware of the boy that walked you home. First a little scared he wanted to do something to you but when you recognized him as one of the boys from your school, you thought maybe he wanted to be friends.

When you noticed that he, once again, walked behind, you entered one of the corner stores and bought some snacks. With two packages in hand, you left and looked around searching for the boy. You caught a sight of his hair peaking from behind the corner and bounced to him.

Kaji saw you and his eyes moved frantically away not to seem suspicious but when you shoved the milk bread towards his chest he looked at you shocked.

Since that day you became friends and when he told you about his secret you still accepted him. The little group of friends Kaji had quickly acknowledged you as a part of their little group. Hiiragi, additionally, felt confident in you and he thought of you as someone trustworthy to take care of his younger friend.

Now that you were in high school, it was enough that you showed up and calmly talked to him and he would relax. His face reddening when you would additionally caress his hair to help him come back.

Ren was even more afraid of hurting you with the time passing and the friendship between you deepening. He just couldn't handle you getting hurt. Not wanting to chance your, till that day, sure ability to bring him back. He also hated that he couldn't control himself that was why even if you were his remedy he didn't want to use this side of him.

Thinking about all the time you spend together, Ren thought about being something more but was scared until that one day.

Even though he was mostly silent and deadly you knew him as someone who liked to share songs or lyrics that make him think about you. That was what he told you when you once asked him about the choice of songs.

Knowing you liked it he thought of a plan to tell you about his long-standing feelings and possibly ask you out on the date he had dreamed of several times.

Why did he do that while being in Furin School? He didn't know but when his finger pressed send he became anxious patiently waiting for your response.

Seeing that Ren wrote to you, you clicked on the link attached to his message and as usual, a song played from your phone starting from the middle.

"I got a new song"

But this time it was a slightly different song choice.

Then for several next minutes nothing. No text, no call, nothing. He started to worry if you were alright, maybe something happened when you were walking and replying to him, or maybe you didn't want to be his friend anymore.

Soon his phone pinged and the text he received made him stand up quickly, shocking his classmates who for the past half an hour watched their grade captain having a crisis. Ren almost tripped moving away from his chair and running out of the classroom. His classmates ran behind him scared that he got some bad news.

On the other hand, you ran all the way to Bofurin huffing and gasping for air from exhaustion. Bending down to catch your breath you sent Ren a short message: "I'm outside."

Soon enough he ran out of the school and noticing you he quickly joined your side. "Are you alright?" He asked worriedly. "Is it for real? Or did you send it on accident?" You questioned him your words cut at the lack of breath you felt.

He bit his lip down his gaze moved past you as he nervously wondered what to tell you. After calming down as much as you could you straightened up and looked at him. His face was red and when his eyes met yours he narrowed them before saying.

"Yes, I've liked you for a while. And I'd like to ask you out for a date?" His voice wavered slightly but seeing the wide grin appearing on your face made him relieved. "I like you too and of course, I'll go on a date with you. I'm so happy right now." You said enthusiastically and he nodded at your words.

Ren felt just as joyful as you, knowing you reciprocated his feelings. Everything seemed too perfect and soon he knew why. "Are you dating already?!" The both of you heard a loud yell coming from the rooftop.

You turned together to check who was that only to see the whole second Tohman grade at the main doors, as well as, Hiiragi and Umemiya standing on the roof and watching. The latter was the one yelling and waving happily.

Ren grabbed your hand and pulled you after him behind the brick fence so that no one could see you. He was excited over what happened but also embarrassed and you grabbed his hands in encouragement. He entangled his fingers with yours before leaning in.

Fuming, I decided to follow his suggestion just so I could take a shower. Then, I'd lock myself in one of the rooms. If they wouldn’t let me go home, fine—I wouldn’t eat all day tomorrow. Let’s see if they wouldn’t feel guilty about what they’ve done.

When I opened Joker's door, I was surprised to find the room empty. I walked in and headed to his cabinet, biting my bottom lip as I realized I was about to borrow some of his boxers without asking. But Wooin had suggested it, so it shouldn't be a problem, right?

Letting out a frustrated sigh, I closed the cabinet and decided to find Joker. Maybe he could help me sort out this mess.

I heard a strange noise and stopped in my tracks. It sounded like a grunt, like someone was in pain. It was coming from the bathroom. I didn't know if I should go closer to figure out who it was, but deep down, I knew it was Joker. Was he hurt? I freaked out and walked towards the slightly open door.

I peeked inside and my lips parted in surprise when I saw Joker. He was in the shower, but... he was still fully dressed. His t-shirt was hitched up from him biting on the end, exposing his abs and that tantalizing v-line. He was fucking jerking himself off. I could literally see the frustration and pleasure on his face as he bit into his shirt. Instantly, a wave of heat coursed through my body, especially in my center. When you told him you wanted to learn how to ride a bike, he offered his help. You guys went to his agency and he told you to choose which bike you want to ride. At first you looked at him like are you sure because you didn’t really know anything about bikes. Then he helped you to find your ideal bike, which took like half an hour. But after you guys finally found the one, you went to a quiet park where there was no one else but you guys so you could practice to your heart's content and don’t have to worry about anyone to see your failures.

You had known and liked Chris ever since you were kids but never thought he would be a very arrogant teacher. For every failure he would say something sassy (which he only said because he knew that you could do it and liked you) which made you embarrassed. But still you continued to try again and again until you made it. And when Chris saw that you rode with confidence he let go off the bike and watched as you went on your own. When you looked back to see that Chris is very far away you couldn’t help but to smile at him and tell him that you told him that you could do it.

After a while you guys took a break and Chris went to buy some snacks and drinks. When he came back you asked him why he offered his help because you knew he had a very busy schedule. Then when he told you he couldn’t let anyone else help his crush to learn how to ride a bike, he could be the best option to learn from because he is the number 1 sprinter in the whole world.

The first words he said you couldn’t believe your ears and asked him if he does like you. He replied that he does like you and then asked if he can kiss you. You replied with a yes, then he gave you a very passionate and full of feelings kiss. Weeks that windbreaker hasn’t made me cry: 0 yet again, beautiful episode and perfect conclusion to this gravel mini-arc. This had it all. The action from Cloverworks, the emotional moments that make wind breaker so special, AND we meet our next big bad? Perfect ep

“I’ve never had anything to begin with” Suzuri and Gravel were a really interesting opposition group for these last few episodes because if you think about it, Suzuri is basically Sakura if he didn’t have a support system. They both have the same ethos, they won’t let any of their friends suffer or go without. For Sakura he was able to find a home with Bofurin and he’s not starving, but the Gravel folks only had themselves. Society forgot about them. So it’s only natural seeing someone like Shizuka who has so many people concerned for her wellbeing and willing to put themselves on the line for her would hurt.

Communicating through fighting has been a big theme of this series from the start and you could quite literally feel all the pain and burden Suzuri carried in that fight. His attacks were primal, full of fear and a desire to survive. He’s not fighting to be evil or anything, just a simple human desire to have enough food to eat and to make sure his people are good. It’s funny how you can go from hating a character to understanding them and sympathising with them so quickly. That’s why talking to people is important which is another big theme of this series. You can’t help people if you don’t know what they want. We can’t understand one another if we don’t communicate.

Speaks to tsubakino’s emotional intelligence that he was instantly able to see Suzuri wasn’t a bad guy and must’ve had a lot of pain and suffering in his life. Ironically, they both would’ve been great friends if they grew up together which makes things all the more painful. We can’t choose our circumstances, but we can choose what to do next so respect to Suzuri for realizing the error of his ways and taking Kanji’s job offer.

The big ironic twist of the episode being that Suzuri already had more than most people will ever get, he had a loving group of friends. Rooting for them!

“I love you a whole lot more than you can ever imagine” 😭 yea that’s where the tears started flowing for me. Tsubakino and Shizuka friendship is so pure I love them sm. I love how Suzuri made sure to reassure Shizuka that his group would never do anything to hurt her, and if they did, he’d take full responsibility!!

Oh shit that ending! Who’s our new hottie??! Is he gonna be related to the guy from the end of the KEEL arc?? Can’t wait for the next ep!

Even if he doesn’t know you that well your style grabbed his attention, so little by little he’ll start talking to you. Being one of the people that compliment you but something was different with him, his smile was warmer and his body language exposed slight interest. Whatever you wear is his excuse to talk to you, for example if you’re holding an umbrella on a nice day he wants to talk about your outfit and then ends up asking more questions.

He’s more protective of you because ain’t no way he’s gonna let anyone make fun of you now. Warnings and threats can turn into physical fights because people are so petty. He teaches them a lesson though, and he’s extra romantic with you afterwards. He admires your confidence and how you embrace yourself he doesn’t want that to end. A confidence booster, for sure. He’s your biggest fan, probably wants to take pictures of you a lot. Even if he doesn’t show it, trust me he’s obsessed with you and wants to be around you every second of every day

Ok Vinny isn’t going to be as… responsive to how he likes your style, but he still thinks it’s really cool. If you’re dating him since he’s poor he’ll feel guilt for not being able to afford to buy you more outfits but at least he can afford flowers that match the color of what you’re wearing that day on a date. Whatever he can’t afford, he comes up with a plan to give whatever he has. He acts cold but he genuinely cares about you and wouldn’t want to lose you for the world. If you’re still dating him when he’s rich that’s when he’ll spoil you. He doesn’t expect anything back he just wants you to be happy.

You won’t be able to see Vinny as much due to crew business, but once he makes time for you he doesn’t want to leave you. These times are actually the hardest because if he’s going through it he will want to hold you. No need for words when you finally see each other he just wants to be in your arms again. And once he has to leave again he is even worse than before, your smiles just give him peace and comfort again and he needs that more than ever.

Dom is simping… you’re a goddess to him that whenever he sees you he gets flustered and embarrasses himself a little. He’s not shy about showing how much he loves you, random kisses, hugs from behind, lots of compliments. He likes to brag and show you off (didn’t mean to reference the Doja Cat song lmao) But seriously he does… Especially when you’re rooting for him during the tournaments and he wins. He’s proud of himself and especially when you shower him with praises and hugs. Watch him melt and turn into a puddle.

One of the most romantic characters and your biggest supporter. If you don’t pull the strings she does and a lot of the times being the flirty one. You got her attention with your stand outish style like Jay. She genuinely wanted to be your friend at first, but she fell first and she fell hard. You fell hard too from how her charismatic personality and caring so much was pulling you in. It’ll take a little longer to confess to each other because you both assume you might not be into girls. But with little hints from Shelly, it started with subtle flirting comments like “If you were my girlfriend I’d spoil you.”

Finally she got the courage for just one date and see how it goes. Pretty much by the second date you’re official. She’s a bit clingy but that’s just her way of showing that she loves you. When she was training hard twitch her dad to help Humming Bird unfortunately she couldn’t reach out to you much but would send occasional texts like ‘😚’ or the cutesy love gifs

Wooin might fun of you… Especially when he met you, but in his head he thinks he looks good and he can think it’s pretty hot that you don’t care what people think. And just like Dom, I feel like he enjoys when you watch him during his races. But compared to Dom, Wooin is kissing his own ass, “did you see how awesome I am, babe?” So you’d probably be mostly quiet until he’s done talking about himself or notices that you’re not saying anything to hype him up and comments on it

If someone made fun of you that’s when his limit comes because only he can make fun of you. He doesn’t care who it is even if his crew were to make fun of you. Though that wouldn’t really happen because 1. They know Wooin would be pissed 2. They actually don’t care how you dress. Surprisingly when you spend more time with The Sabbath Crew they aren’t as mean as you thought. Well, compared to your own boyfriend. But really when it comes to Wooin he is on high alert when you’re out with him making sure no one is looking at you the wrong way

Joker is the quiet type. But he’ll make up with it with physical touch and kisses. Just like Wooin he can’t stand it when people talk shit. Except Wooin doesn’t get into fights unless he’s provoked to, Joker on the other hand is violent. So he isn’t giving any warnings he’s giving a punch to a face. If you tell him that you don’t like when he gets into fights he will just not do it in front of you

On the cutesy side of things you met his brother and he thought you were cool. And his new puppy might finally have a babysitter while he’s in tournaments if you’re ok with it. If not he can just take the puppy with him like usual. Now he has someone to gush over animals with.

What's your top 5 windbreaker characters!

Oooo! I love this question! 1. Kaji - He's my absolute favorite in the series. There's something so emotional about watching him struggle and fail time and time again via his backstory & chapters 123-129. We're introduced to him as someone similar to Sakura, only more realized in his role as grade captain & in Furin as a whole, but then we're slowly shown the lowest moments of his life and how he's worked to come back from them.

He quite literally hates himself (or has hated himself in the past) and yet he still chooses to have trust in his friends when they tell him that they don't view him the same way that he views himself. I also appreciate how that support/"the power of friendship" didn't automatically "fix" all of his insecurities, but rather they're something that he still grapples with on the daily & that the support he's received gives him the space, confidence, and safety net to work on himself. It's realistic and makes him feel like he still has so much room for growth.

I also think it's beautiful how he tries to mentor Sakura so that he doesn't make the same mistakes Kaji made, or fall into the same mindset he did the year before. You can really tell that he's trying to impart all of Hiragi's teachings onto Sakura and it's such a heartwarming way to watch a character pay it forward.

(I have a HC that Kaji's blinding rage episodes are the result of a brain injury/head trauma that he sustained from a fight during his childhood. Someone please take him to a doctor for some scans, I beg.)

2. Tsubaki - (For the record, in my heart Tsubaki is she/her, but the series uses he/him pronouns so I'll use that for the sake of clarity and to not cause confusion.)

Tsubaki is quite literally everything and honestly we need a spin-off manga where he's the protagonist. Tsubaki quite literally steals EVERY scene he's in, I cannot be bothered with other characters whenever he's on the page and I cannot wait until he's animated. The fashion? The pole-dancing?? The being in love with Ume??? I hope they end up together in the end, that's the only ship I really want to become canon (for context, I usually don't like when ships become canon because then ship wars and arguments happen and it ruins all the fun lmao).

Also, the way that Tsubaki's theme of living in a way that is truthful to yourself & not trying to suppress who you really are (i.e. gender expression) is juxtaposed with Suzuri's theme of wealth inequality and obtaining basic human needs (i.e. food & things that make life worth living) is beautiful to me because having them see eye-to-eye and relate to each other in the end is ultimately (in my interpretation) the author saying that even though these two themes look vastly different from each other, they are both basic human rights and they are both necessary to be alive. Like, their arc was political as fuck and I was SO moved by it. I should probably go into that more and bring in specific examples at some point because I know I didn't do that great of a job explaining it lol.

Also, Tsubaki's fights are incredible like? pop off girlie, eviscerate a man in your high heels as a treat, you deserve it <3

3. Sakura - MY SON. MY BOY. MY FERAL CAT CHILD.

Sakura is such a great protagonist. His development is slow and authentic, which speaks to how well he's written, and his history is so mysterious. There's so much that we don't know about him and I'm thoroughly enjoying having information revealed little by little. Not only does it give us the chance to theorize about him and who he was before enrolling in Furin, but it also (to me) reads as a trauma response. We spend most of the series in his POV and him not revealing his backstory is indicative of his unwillingness to recall it. We only get flashes of his past when they're relevant and paired with how that trauma is starting to heal in his new circumstances (i.e. remembering his lonely summer vacations in the past as he's about to go to the beach with his friends. Or explaining how isolated he felt via that tightrope analogy just as he realizes that he doesn't need to live that way anymore & can safely exist with others who care for him).

I love seeing how he grows to care for others and empathize with them. He's so different now than he was in the beginning of the series and I just wanna give him all the hugs.

4. Umemiya - Ume's philosophy about food is my favorite theme in the entire series: food tastes better when you eat with your loved ones & we are all made up of the foods we eat and the people we meet. (At some point, I also wanna write about how the theme of food plays into the story, but today is not that day.) It reminds me of this quote I read forever ago from one of those Michael Pollan books LOL: “Cooking is all about connection, I've learned, between us and other species, other times, other cultures (human and microbial both), but, most important, other people. Cooking is one of the more beautiful forms that human generosity takes; that much I sort of knew. But the very best cooking, I discovered, is also a form of intimacy.” ― Michael Pollan, Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation

Also this: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” ― Hippocrates

I love how he uses food as a means to connect people and build his family. I would love to see him have a genuine conversation with Suzuri at some point.

My biggest fear with Ume is that, because of his role at Furin, at some point he's going to have to be removed (either by graduating and leaving on good terms, or via some crazy action conflict). The series is very calm right now, and even when there are enemies, we all know that Ume is only a phone call away. But removing him would destabilize everything we've grown attached to thus far. So much hinges on him just being present, which is part of why I adore him so much as a character.

5. Suo - Suo is a little fucker and I love him to the moon and back. He's so respectfully disrespectful in the most hilarious of ways and I cannot wait to know more about his backstory. Is it probably the most tragic out of everyone's? Yes. Am I ready for it? No. Do I still need to know it right tf now? Also yes.

It has been pointed out how Suo never eats with the others, which definitely connects to Ume's/the series' broader themes about food and eating together as a means to build community. Suo does feel the most emotionally distant out of everyone, clearly hiding something, and I imagine that the moment when we finally see him eating with the rest of the cast will be intensely emotional.

Also, I'm probably wrong about this, but I do NOT think that motherfucker has anything wrong with his right eye. I think he wears that eyepatch to mess with people, as is his right. I support his gremlin nature.

For the record, if we knew more about Kotoha, she'd be on this list because I absolutely adore her. She also compliments the main themes of the series and expresses them through a non-Furin perspective, which tbh I think this series needs more of. I think we need to see more of the town/community that our beloved main characters fight so hard to protect, especially when it comes to moving the plot/Sakura's development along. (This series also needs more women, but I digress LOL)
