Simply because something looks like a shortcut on paper, doesn't mean that it'll actually end up being one in practise.
A truth that is currently plaguing J, for it found itself stuck within the big Forest in Cotes, one that is infamous for this very issue, although… the drone didn't exactly expect it to be a genuine problem it'd struggle with.
If it could, it'd either just fly high up, or make use of a certain chainsaw to clear its path… unfortunately, neither of which J had the tools necessary for anymore. So here it was, stuck, with patience running thin.
Eventually, it just started silently following someone who seemed too… relaxed, not to know their way around the forest, figuring they'd lead it out sooner or later. It'd have worked out so well, too, were it not for the stranger turning around without warning, leaving no time for J to avoid eye contact.
"…"
awkward.
"— juuust following you. Carry on. I insist."

"What kind of Mahnga...?" When she picked up a random book to read at the library, she didn't expect such a twisted plot from a hardcover of something cute and innocent-looking.
"Holy shit, I can't believe that fucker would lie to them like that."

It was different now, wasn't it? The last time Nier had been to the Cotes Ward, it had similar aesthetics to the Sky Realm's far eastern islands. Now, it felt like...
It was difficult to describe, now that she thought about it. It almost echoed some of the standard Sky Realm architecture, but everything was just a little off. It was a poor copy, like someone had described it to a builder who didn't really care to get it right. Nier wasn't fond of the change; she had preferred a place that made her feel far from home. Was it possible that she had just wandered far off from familiar streets, and a few correct turns would bring her back to familiar territory?
Or had she been gone for far longer than she realized?
Sighing, she gives a small wave to someone passing by. "Um, excuse me... Do you know where the cherry blossom grove is? They didn't get rid of that, did they? I'm just looking for a quiet place to collect my thoughts."

Her own house is unexpected; space in the bunker was relatively limited, so she was lucky to have her own room back on Copper 9. Despite the whole... everything that this city is, they're treating her well.
"Only fitting for the protagonist," Uzi mutters to herself, surveying the space. "Oh yeah, workbench here, computer there, I could really get used to this."
It's just... kind of lonely, isn't it? As cool as being whisked away to another world is, it seems like she's the only one here. Does she need to reunite the party? Are N and V waking up somewhere else in the city- oh, she really hopes not; they'd probably explode in the direct sunlight.
Perhaps this is just another task for the protag of the story to struggle with. But as Uzi ponders her situation, the front door opens, and suddenly there's someone else in the house.
"Human!"
It's startling, but Uzi collects herself after a moment. Reflexively, she holds a hand out, three fingers extended. "Didn't they teach you about knocking in- in human school? Or what about trespassing?"

"If it's already starting to get hot outside, why don't you put your hair up in a braid?" He had overheard her complaints and couldn't help but pipe up with the suggestion. It was practically a kneejerk suggestion.
"Or cut it." No matter how he tried to save it, it wasn't going to work.

@witchoftrinity + winterfes (soups up)
Having ventured away from the gaping chasm in the middle of the city, Genis found himself drawn to the allure of various savory scents in the air. The more he followed his nose, the louder a crowd's rumbling grew, until he arrived at the source of it all: a gigantic pot.
He refrained from pushing through the crowd like some hungry patrons seemed to do and instead ambled to the side where a festive sign was propped up. It proclaimed "FREE SOUP!!!!" with no further elaboration or even sign-off from the writer. He sighed, shaking his head at the disappointment since he was pretty hungry.
"Couldn't anybody be supplying this food? I don't care how good it smells if it's a trap!"

"hope you didn't give my friend too much crap for the booze," although it really doesn't seem like yuri minds much either way, shuffling through a deck of cards as leisurely as can be.
he'd never met the girl prior to today's mishap, so what's better than a friendly game of slapjack to help break the ice? it's more fitting than poker, at least.
"zev definitely asked for it, won't fault you there... i'd be surprised if no else in this city's been crazy enough to try their luck, though. am i wrong?"

"Actually, alchemy is more like science, not even close to magic. But I get how it could be the same. Where I'm from, you need knowledge of basics to learn it. And lot of studying." A nervous laugh escaped him, hoping the stranger wouldn't ask about his suit of armor.
"But once you learn it, it's the matter of principles! There's law to alchemy, like how you can't just create nothing out of thin air. You'd need substance. Like water, for instance! You can only use water with the same attribute, we also call this an equivalent exchange...." a pause, it seems he talked a bit too much! "Sorry! I hope I wasn't boring you??"

Yumine is pacing back and forth. Wings are folded behind her back to make them as close to her as possible. She doesn't want to take up too much space (Even though she's out in the open).
She seems bothered, but what would possibly be causing her minor distress?
She finally stops pacing and pees back into an opened manhole. It's a little too small for her. She can't go in, "Don't worry, I'll get you out of there." But she needs something long and something skinny. Her tail isn't gonna cut it!
There's a small meow echoing from beneath!

Ambrose isn’t really sure what to make of someone like this, who seems to be a chaotic force of nature that can talk endlessly about whatever is on her mind, and he finds he can hardly get a word in. Goodness…
It was one thing interacting with younger children who would simply talk your ear off if you let them, but apparently teenagers weren’t much different.
Eventually, when a small silence spans as if he’s expected to have an answer now, he blinks bewildered before even opening his mouth.
“I… I’m sorry to burst your bubble but I actually don’t work here.” He looks so embarrassed now, unsure where to look and settling on something to the side. He fiddles at a loose strand of hair, if only to distract himself from becoming too stressed over it.
“If I was more acquainted with things here I could probably still help… but…”
…
“Sorry, again, for the confusion…”

Not Enough.
It's... cold. Without the Flamescion Core kindling her heart, she makes for easier prey to the precursing chills of a dying summer. With no sign of Mei, Bronya, or the others, the chill simply irritates a certain flavor of loneliness. The sort of loneliness one feels when they are far beyond the boundaries of what they might call home. Was this a dream? Or a nightmare, stripped of her friends and powers. Though feeling these questions in her heart, her cool composure certainly doesn't betray. Whatever the case may be, she's out in Fibonacci with hopes that the latter problem might at least be somewhat solved.
After all... a BB gun was a sick and sorry replacement for everything she had worked so hard to achieve. What was a BB gun going to do in the wake of a Honkai incursion? Or.. something worse? Sharp eyes give away the gravity of her search, silly little guns holstered at her hips. Surely there would be someone. Someone in a similar situation, similarly armed, similar -- there!
A seemingly unassuming young lady, bubblegum pink standing out even in the dazzling lights of Fibonacci. A unique armament of a make she's never seen before... familiar, but alien. More importantly: a firearm like her own.
"Hey you, ( @witchoftrinity ) with the pink hair." With casual care, the Valkyrie strides towards the stranger. "'Scuse me, got a moment?"

he's not laughing at this girl's choice in costume. really, he's not. it's charming. cute. there is no way he's struggling not to snicker at the way she's kind of waddling around.
okay. there might be some snickering.
"Excuse me, my dear, but isn't that a bit... difficult to move about in?"

@witchoftrinity liked for a starter!
This is certainly a lot to take in. A strange city he's never heard of before with a great, yawning pit in the center, and he's alive to see it? Super weird. He should get his bearings and figure out exactly what's going on here, but... they gave him a toy hammer.
They should not have given him a toy hammer.
He sneaks carefully up to the first person that draws his eye - a girl with long, pink hair. He gears up for a big swing... then smacks her right on the head with it. It's a squeaky toy, so it won't hurt, but it's certainly annoying, isn't it?
"Nishishi. Hi there!" He grins mischievously.

Miku is technologically inclined, of course, and that's how her wandering ended up leaving her here: a strange park but beautiful all the same. She's just excited to get the opportunity to experience all of this. And that includes getting to know these strange little guys that litter across the place.
Curiosity unsatisfied, she walks up to someone who looks to be human.
"Hello! Um, are you a human? A real human?" It's an odd question (Miku is unsure if she's the only virtual being given a physical form or not), but she quickly switches topics. "Do you know what these are?" She gestures a hand to just one of strange dog-like denizens with screens on their heads. "They're very cute!" Is it something from the human world that she's not come across yet? How interesting!

It's doubtful if Mika was even trying, but she gets a laugh from Constantine. "I wish they gave us options. I'd rather choose something more....Aquatic." Oh, WELL.
Shrugging, he motions further,
"Luckily for you, finding a source of water is one of my specialties. So, if you don't mind drinking from T-rexes, then let's go."
He is curious though,
""Wonder what the whole point of this is."
"Ah yeah I suppose you are right. They were probably drinking that water weren't they." And it was doubtful either of them could purify it or at least not properly enough either of them could drink it. So either it was finding water the old fashioned way or just putting up with it.
"Can it even be called a ride anymore? This is like a full blown trip against our will! I didn't ask to come here with or without the dinosaurs being involved."

θ "KNOCK, KNOCK! KNOCK, KNOCK! KNOCK, KNOCK! KNOCK, KNOCK! KNOCK, KNOCK! KNOCK, KNOCK!" There wasn't much privacy in this city, was there? It didn't take Cyn long at all to figure out where Uzi lived, and had chosen to take the initiative. She hadn't been subtle at all, robotically chanting "KNOCK, KNOCK!" over and over as she scratched up the door. Eventually she just smashed the lock and pried the door open. Answering herself with "Who's. THERE?" as she kicked it wide and stepped through with a big grin on her face. "It's-ME!"
No one was in the main hall of the townhouse. "Hell-OooOOooOOOOOo? U-UZI? It's your SIS-TER from another MIS-TER."
