Summer of Fear 1978
We just had the winter solstice and I am freezing cold. It got down to 6 degrees this morning, (about 42 for those metrically challenged) and I know that may not seem super cold to a lot of people, but the only reason I don’t up and leave where I live is because of the weather. We have a pretty short “cold season” but I can and will complain about it the whole time. So to make myself feel better…

When I watched this as a kid I thought they were all so badass but now as a 28 year old they all just look like freshman from my old high school lol

Shout out to this one woman from Blair Witch Project. According to the directors everyone involved in the scene was a plant, except for her, some random woman from the real Burkitsville who was asked about the Blair Witch and immediately made up a story about seeing a documentary on the Discovery Channel about disappearing hunters. While carrying a child. Unsung MVP of horror

Reblogging this here because witches in horror (or horror comedies) always end up trodding close to the fairytale world, thanks to the witch being one of the key fairytale characters.
Hocus Pocus, Roald Dahl's Witches, Suspiria and Inferno, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, Baba Yaga, The Blair Witch Project, the VVitch and even The Love Witch all have more or less a "fairytale" touch to it, from twisting an actual fairytale to just slipping nods and references in their witch lore.
