April Mixtape (2022), The Snow Strippers (2022), April Mixtape 2 (2022), April Mixtape 3 (2023), Night Killaz Vol. 1 (2023), Night Killaz Vol. 2 (2024), Snow Strippers
Snow Strippers have never tried to innovate past their influences, beyond ‘90s trance, ‘00s witch house (very specifically Crystal Castles), ‘10s cloud rap; they’ve supplemented a revival rather than led one. But a leading role isn’t always necessary, all this stuff is gratifying in its polish and conciseness, in its faff-free display of hooks and highs.
Pick(s): ‘Only Way Out’, ‘Know My Name’, ‘My Own Mistakes’, ‘Aching Like It’s’, ‘So What If I’m a Freak’

# 4,403
May 28, 2022 Playlist.
The opportunity to attend Sacred Bones’ 15th anniversary presented itself pretty quickly. Tickets were released for sale four weeks before the show and I grabbed them right away. I missed out on both Sacred Bones’ 10th shows because of nine months of stay-at-home recovery and now their 15th was a chance to redeem myself.
The build-up was getting heavier as the show drew closer. I had anxiety like never before waiting to attend a New York City show. The 28th came and it started on a dim, greyscale note. Long Island had a string of wet days with Saturday no exception. Rain arrived at the Central Islip station before I had with no telling when it’d stop - if it did. Halfway from my home station to Woodside did the storm subside to nothing.
By the time I transferred from the 7 line to the Q39 bus had the clouds open up to welcome in the blinding basking sun and matching sweltering humidity. The Q39 raced, whipped, and turned wide all throughout Sunnyside and ultimately Maspeth to drop me off in a dense neighborhood of hazy, white 75*F temperatures. I’m in the middle of an unfamiliar yet dense neighborhood. I walk a few blocks into a suspiciously silent area of shackled-up factories, closed warehouses, and shipping centers closed for the weekend; all by myself not knowing or worrying about any rogues waiting in the wings to start trouble. I drew closer to the new activity of open businesses, moving vehicles, and the pedestrians walking through the gauntlet to the Knockdown Center.
Nothing that I could ever imagine would conjure up a would-be dream-state that would become a magical reality.
I was in New York City (Queens) associated with preferably some of the best people in attendance. Surreal dreams I’ve always had now become a reality. The way showgoers sat outside the Knockout Center felt like I was on another college campus. People sitting on the floor silently observing Constant Smiles play as the rays peeked through during sundown. A hypnotized crowd witnessing Anika and Spellling’s mesmerizing performances. A super-colorful closing set by Black Marble, and a sit-down lecture about time - at a music festival? Whether Sacred Bones gamed it themselves or by sheer coincidence, this event had some unusual moments that made for a truly unforgettable experience.
The next day’s opening shift was in the back of my mind; more apparent as midnight approached. Regrettably, I leave the Knockdown Center a little earlier than desired and hitched a ride to Woodmere’s train home and guarantee six hours of sleep. I’m stunned. Bedazzled. My mind is processing the last five hours of what just happened. I’m organizing and interpreting the swirl of feelings, the sights, the colors, the sounds, the crowd, and the happenstance of everything that unfolded as I wait for the rail’s arrival. I take a seat facing direction to the Jamaica stop where I had only one minute to race and take the double-decker train’s upper-lever seat for the rest of the way home.
Spring is over. Summer has officially started.

“Had Diamanda Galás been born 400 years ago, she would have been declared a witch. These days, she merely sings like she’s being burnt at the stake. The grimly beautiful Greek American chanteuse belongs to that elite company of divas of despair that includes Nico, Lydia Lunch and latter-day Marianne Faithfull. Unlikely as it sounds, Galás has hooked up with Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones for this album, which matches his menacing slabs of eight-string bass to her avant-garde sensibilities and operatic ululations. The results seethe with tension and drama. “Skótoseme” (Greek for “kill me”) sees Galás’ mourning wails swept along by an Arabian drone. On the sarcastic “Do You Take This Man?”, she lashes out like a blues mama who’s been pushed too far, while the title track details a group of vengeful prostitutes gleefully plotting to murder a john. The Sporting Life is marinated in equal parts malice and black humour.”
/ From my review of The Sporting Life for the British music magazine Vox, 1994 /
“John Paul Jones and Diamanda Galás crumble the little gingerbread house of rock illusions with their collaborative album, The Sporting Life, detonating all the overplayed crap we’ve become accustomed to - the bland bass/drum rhythms, the singer hooting oooh baby baby, the guitar and its obligatory solo wheeze. The album opens the genre to an expanse where divisions between what is electronic and what is “natural” smear, where the instrument is only as good as its ability to scalp you …”
/ From Bomb magazine, October 1994 /
Released thirty year ago today (6 September 1994): the album The Sporting Life, a collaboration between Diamanda Galás and John Paul Jones, a true marriage made in heaven / hell. I saw the duo perform together in London on this tour. In addition to the songs cited above, I’d recommend the ballad “Tony” (on which Galás vows “I'll walk the street at night / screamin' your name …” and sounds like a bummed-out Janis Joplin) and her wild interpretation of the 60s soul classic “The Dark End of the Street.”

Ghost!Steve Harrington x Witch!Reader
Series Masterlist
500 words
“Can I hear them?”
Steve’s been watching over your shoulder as you type up a review of a band from upstate. Reading along as the black ink stamps into the paper with each clack of your typewriter.
You wondered how he didn’t get bored. Surely, you were one of the least interesting witches in the coven to follow around day-to-day. You weren’t used to entertaining, and you rarely practised witchcraft outside of your daily rituals – although he’d watch that intently too, asking about all the different ingredients you’d steep in your tea and why continuously getting the Ace of Cups card in your tarot spread was bothering you.
But he was still here, and you were still wary of why that was – both spiritually and physically – why you?
“Uh, sure.” You click your Walkman, taking out the cassette when it pops up and move over to your stereo. You watch as Steve reads over what you’d written again while the first track fills the room, his tongue digging into his lower lip in concentration.
“That’s good. What you’ve written is like, what it sounds like.” He winces at his inability to articulate, but you get what he means. The compliment makes your shoulders hunch.
“Thanks.”
A knock at the front door of your cottage pulls you away, and you ignore the tingling in your arm as you pass the ghost.
“Hey.” Your fellow coven member Kelsey smiles at your appearance, holding out a thick A4 piece of paper towards you, “Essie made this painting for you, but she was too shy to show you so I volunteered to bring it ov–“ she stops talking when she notices something over your shoulder, then leans in to whisper, “You have a ghost?”
You follow her line of sight to Steve who smiles at the both of you, offering a wave from where he’s standing further in the house.
“Wait, you can see him too?” You turn back to Kelsey who nods, eyes still trained on him. “Huh, I guess he really isn’t here because of me then. He kind of just popped up a few days ago. Would he have anything to do with you?”
She shakes her head, frowning at the way Steve is staring at you like you invented tight, dark-wash jeans.
“Fuck, well if you hear of anyone missing a spirit let me know.” You look down at the colourful portrait she handed you, “And tell Essie thanks. It’s beautiful as always.”
“Will do.” She turns away slowly and you hear her release a deep sigh as you close the door.
Steve follows you as you walk into the kitchen, admiring the portrait of you with crossed arms as you stick it onto the fridge.
“Pretty.” He mutters.
“I know, she’s so talented.”
He rubs the back of his neck before taking a step closer, chest almost close to touching your back if it were possible. “I didn’t really mean the art.”
You turn your head to see a shy smirk on his face, eyes transfixed on you. You roll your eyes, trying to hide the heat creeping into your skin. Who the hell flirts this much when they’re dead? You’re not even used to the alive ones doing it to you.
You shake your head, trying to rid yourself of his spell if you can’t his spirit, and move back to your typewriter.
Steve settles back into his place over your shoulder, nodding along to the music as the words flow from your handwritten notes to the page in front of you.

my thoughts on godzilla minus one
tl;dr i had a religious experience (positive) and it may be my new favorite godzilla movie
i'm going to try to organize my thoughts lmao i have never done a film analysis or review
story
i went in knowing next to nothing, so i was very afraid this was going to be heavy on the imperialist propaganda and reminiscing on the "good old days" of the japanese military
however i was pleasantly surprised to see that it was quite anti-government :]
loved the delivery of the themes of "all lives being precious" and "living on for yourself as well as for the sake of others" – not hammy or blunt!
FORESHADOWING OF THE EJECTION SEAT? chef's KISS we love picking up what the movie is putting down and getting to see the payoff
speaking of foreshadowing:
dr. noda: [takes noriko's picture]
me: oh no she's going to die
i spent like the last quarter of the movie with a headache because i was clenching my teeth and holding in tears after noriko's death ("death") AND koichi planning to blow himself up and orphan akiko
and all the ex-navy guys rallying together to defeat godzilla
i am not immune to classic story beats
semi-related i thought noriko would be covered in radiation burns, but then i realized a depiction of that would probably be insensitive
also the guys measuring radiation in plastic costs? come on now i know we weren't fully educated in the risks of radiation but there must've been some sort of better ppe
characters
i enjoyed like every character which is rare for me in a godzilla film
koichi just can't catch a break. this man gained so much trauma in a short amount of time, like he doesn't have ptsd because the trauma is ONGOING. i think he's my favorite and it's very easy to root for him
his introduction is of him as a shaky baby-faced pilot and then you find out he was supposed to be a kamikaze pilot like goddamn
i liked noriko's assertiveness ("hey i'm staying in your house now :)") and her ability to see kindness in koichi and sumiko
her struggle of wanting to become independent is very relatable. you could see the bittersweetness in her eyes showing that she felt guilty yet grateful for koichi's support........
i was surprised how quickly sumiko agreed to taking care of akiko? but it makes sense since she was (is) a mother and could not bear to see another child suffer, and akiko gave her life a new purpose
i would've liked more focus on the female characters and i don't think it's fair to just blame it on the era :playdead:
i really liked the chemistry between dr. noda, captain akitsu, and mizushima
dr. noda in particular felt like a nice foil/parallel to serizawa from the 1954 movie; he's also a scientist but he's much more personable(?)/"human"
dr. serizawa was my favorite in 1954 but he was very anguished and set on making reparations by killing godzilla (and koichi could be a parallel to him in that regard)
noda focused on protecting the living, not avenging the dead
ough mizushima. being a Youth who feels useless sure hits home
i'd say tachibana is my least favorite just by comparison to everyone else, but he's honestly so valid for his whole deal
visuals and sound
very elegant color grading, costuming, and set design!
i don't know film girl help
GOOD SOUNDTRACK the music set the scenes so well
i joked about getting my eardrums blasted by godzilla but he really was that loud. as he should be
godzilla (design, abilities, etc)
SWEET JESUS THIS IS THE SCARIEST GODZILLA BY FAR
godzilla: [shows up in the first 10 minutes with blair witch shaky cam]
me: the filmmakers are not messing around they mean BUSINESS
the rampage on odo island was rightfully terrifying
i love his texture and face. the scrunkliness of heisei with the horrifying pain of shin
i think his head is a bit small for his body, like if it was 5% bigger it would be perfect
loved the visuals of his scales flaking off after getting bombed
the nuclear fallout when he used his atomic breath in tokyo was awe-inducing
great use of godzilla as a war allegory
i saw the movie in d-box so the shotgun-blast of heat ray was intense
also coolest godzilla death. sick decapitation
the plan to imprison him in bubbles and give him the bends felt a bit silly in the moment but highlighted how desperate everyone was for ANYTHING to work
really liked how godzilla was more like an animal or unstoppable force of nature without a clear motive
i mean the only emotion you could ascribe is probably RAGE
sidenote i did think it was a lil funny whenever an object was flung through the air from offscreen. there goes godzilla having another tantrum
#maybe the high will wear off and i will have more critical thoughts later lmao#dellabeatalks#godzilla#godzilla minus one#godzilla minus one spoilers#godzilla spoilers

Funeral Parade of Roses (1969) - Watched on August 5, 2023
It spirals to its inevitable conclusion. We revisit a moment, a scene. A little more plays out, we step back or step forward. We live transfixed in a moment. Sometimes a scene mirrors another, it's all the same but with different details. There is no escaping fate, we can only be sucked closer and closer to our inevitable conclusion.
Stop Making Sense (1984) - Watched on October 5, 2023
I genuinely don’t think this needs any explanation or justification at all. I could watch it over and over and over and over and over.
Possession (1981) - Watched on October 17, 2023
It took me three sittings to get through this film and I wasn’t sure I liked it immediately after I finished it. And then it just simmered in my mind for days and weeks after until it finally clicked into place. I love the way Sam Neill moves in this. Everyone comments on the haunting way Isabelle Adjani looks directly into the camera, and yea. Yeah. Ok. Yeah. Yeah.
The Devils (1971) - Watched on June 26, 2023
I thought going into it with the full knowledge of Urbain Grandier would defang it, and perhaps this did soften the blow a bit, but it's audacious, frenzied, sensual. You get tangled up in its themes, its sensations, its torture.
Dog Day Afternoon (1975) - Watched on January 13, 2023
This set off a brief and ferocious obsession with Al Pacino. I have a strained relationship with films based on true crimes, but this slides past my qualms, perhaps just on the strength of the fact John Wojtowicz himself did write a review of it.
Bound (1996) - Watched on April 5 and August 19, 2023
The way Corky and Violet can come together with genuine trust so quickly. The way Ceaser can misunderstand Violet so fundamentally. The literal betrayal in realising who someone is.
Häxan (1922) - Watched on October 27, 2023
The 1922 equivalent of a Youtube video essay where a guy is like, "Guys, I just learned a bunch of fucked up facts about witches and witch trials. I think maybe we just execute women for being poor and mentally ill. Also aren't mental institutions a bit fucked up?" but like, a bit hornier than you would expect for the subject.
Cruising (1980) - Watched on January 17, 2023
It’s all about looking and being noticed. The camera is looking. Al Pacino is looking. The men are looking. And the ambiguity of the gaze and the plot.
Pontypool (2008) - Watched on October 4, 2023
It's a film about words. It's a film about broadcasting from a radio station and seeing nothing. Our imagination fills in the visual gaps. It's so much more horrifying to be piecing everything together from the safety of a recording booth.
The Lair of the White Worm (1988) - Watched on February 1, 2023
Hugh Grant—looking like a lesbian—who is a freaky little rich boy who believes in cryptids, Peter Capaldi—looking like a lesbian—sucking snake venom from a neck bite, an incredibly sexy snake woman with a house full of snake stuff, a giant snake puppet, surreal dream sequences, the coolest game of snakes and ladders ever made, snake dicks, weaponised bagpipe music, homoeroticism, and giant strap-ons.
Ravenous (1999) - Watched on October 19, 2023
This film is so offbeat and strange. It has the strange feel of a comedy, while being a really understandably grim depiction of cannibalism as manifestation of greed, expansionism, and colonization. I kept having these moments of shock that this was a studio movie, that studios were willing to make this film that so thoroughly deconstructs the American mythology.
Penda's Fen (1974) - Watched on July 6, 2023
The first movie in a long time that has made me feel as though I need to pick it apart like an essay, to rewatch multiple times and take notes and repeat sentences until I’ve done a thorough analysis. I've never had a film hit me in quite this way before.
#film#recs#long post#basically just making my letterboxd list here#i normally don't do a movie best of list for the year but i don't have ten non movies#station eleven and star trek are the only nonfilm things i would list i think

Supernatural: Nevermore
Review time! I actually finished reading this a while ago and just didn't get around to posting the review, but here you go!
.
Summary:
Sam and Dean go to New York to help a friend of Ash with a ghost problem. Said friend is a rocker with a music collection that Dean totally freaks over (further down in this review I have a songlist of the mentioned music, too) and they get to stay at that guy's place while taking care of the problem. There is also a murder spree based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe going on in the area and the boys are solving two cases parallelly.
My experience:
I loved this. It was so fun, the vibe was great, i had a great time! This is actually the first book in the series and I should have read it before witchs canyon, but it doesnt matter too much.
Also, the book starts on a 12th of november, wich is my birthday, so thats cool.
Music list:
Okay, so, because of the plot with the Band, there is a LOT of music in this. I‘m now just and only gonna list the things Dean either has on tape or said that he loves it. Some are songs, some are Bands and some are albums, its listed chronologically after appearance rather than what it is… (sorry)
Deep purple „smoke on the water“
Metallica
Led Zeppelin "Whole lotta love"
Van Morrison "Caravan"
Jethro Tull "For a thousand Mothers"
"Cocaine"
"Ramblin' man"
"Rock on"
"Freebird"
Queensrÿche "Operation Mindcrime"
Dark side of the moon
the Animals
House of the holy
Dressed to Kill
The who "by Numbers"
"Thick as a brick"
"in-a-gadda-di-vida"
the Big Pink
Great so let's continue,
Quotes and Random Facts
"Then again, Sam sometimes thought he didn't have the same attachment to his late girlfriend Jessica that Dean had to the Impala"
"In fact, Sam's skills at lying - both in therms of pretending to be someone else and also misleading people as to the true nature of his life and of the world itself - had been one of the things that attracted him to the law" < in reference to why he studied law at Stanford.
"Squirming in the passenger seat, Sam thought, 'I swear to god, if he starts petting the Dashboard again, I'm walking to New York" < in reference to Dean and the impala
there is also a reference to Sherlock Holmes and my post-it to that was like "Superwholock?" so yea, do with that as you will.
Sam and Jess once went to San Fransisco and did all cute tourist stuff there.
"Cassie was a Subscriber" < Dean telling Sam why he know stuff about animal magazines. he is referring to Cassie Robinson.
"He loved his brother more than anything in the world" < Dean about Sam
Dean had nightmares about people burning on ceilings like his mom did and those people were: Mary, Jessica, Cassie, Sarah, Ellen, Jo and Sam.
"Sam (...), he'd drunk hot sulfur once, by accident during a job, and he wasn't eager to repeat the experience."
"'I assume you took so long 'cause you were hitting on the bartender' he grinned. 'He didn't strike me as your type.'" < Sam about Dean, referring to the male bartender. Deans answer: "Funny boy."
"Dean looked over at his brother. Now he had on his instant face. Dean hated the insistent face, because Sam only used it when he was arguing with him. As opposed to when he argued with Dad. That was always the angry face"
Sam likes Gin and Tonic. Dean is appalled by that.
"Sam looked at Dean. Without any sign or facial indication, Sam knew that his brother agreed they should check upstairs next"
Dean just takes random pictures of Sam sleeping
John actually signed all the paperwork Sam needed to go to Stanford for the first year and Sam got them to declare him independent for the next years. Dean is in absolute shock over that and so am I. that conversation is too long for me to put in all in here, but damn it made me cry.
"'my life is seriously screwed up', he thought with amusement" <Dean, obviously.
"When he was a kid, about eleven years old, he used to go looking for cars that had 'no Radio in car' signs on them. He'd take a removable radio, of a type that was very popular at the time, and throw it as hard as he could at the car window with a note wrapped around it that read 'Now you have one'" < I love Dean so much
Dean hates rubber gloves
"'I just love Mexican Standoffs,' Dean thought"
Sooo that's about all I got for you about this book, can highly recommend it, it was better than Witches canyon, even though I liked that one too very much.
I will link the next one, once I'm done with it!

Broadway Divas: Obscure Sondheim
To highlight how vast and varied Sondheim's roles and shows are, these five Divas have a singular Sondheim credit to their repertoire that are a little more obscure than most. So obscure that my dream of finding pictures to dazzle you all with was quickly shattered.
Bebe Neuwirth as Cinderella's Stepsister, Florinda, in a reading of Into the Woods for a 1994 movie that never came to fruition. This reading took place at director Penny Marshall's house and had a truly breathtaking cast: Robin Williams (The Baker), Goldie Hawn (The Baker's Wife), Steve Martin (The Wolf), Danny DeVito (The Giant), Carrie Fisher (Lucinda), and fucking CHER as The Witch. Bebe Neuwirth and Carrie Fisher as catty sisters tormenting Cinderella and getting their eyes pecked out. And then Cher trying to feed them to Danny DeVito. We were robbed of a masterpiece.
Judith Light as Joanne in a Reprise! presentation of Company at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Though not known for her singing abilities, Judith was nevertheless part of an all-star cast for this two-week run in 2004. The only review I could find was...not favorable. It's been twenty years, and I, for one, think Judith Light deserves her chance at redemption.
Linda Emond as Mary in Merrily We Roll Along, 1988. The Seattle-based ACT company produced Sondheim's biggest flop musical through the month of May in 1988. Linda, then in her late twenties, played the female lead in a rare musical role for her. And I do have a picture thanks to ACT's fantastic archival system.
Pictured: Linda Emond (Mary) center, surrounded by Joseph Dellger (Franklin Shepherd) and Joseph McNally (Charley). And no, I cannot tell which man is which...
4. Susan Blackwell as The Giant in a 2019 one-night-only staged concert of Into the Woods. If you thought the recent Broadway revival was bare-bones, it had nothing on this staged concert at the Town Hall in NYC. There is one singular photo that includes Susan, and without knowing she was meant to be there, you'd never be able to identify her.
Pictured (L to R):
5. Paula Leggett Chase as Stella Deems in Follies, a one-night-only special event in Tangier, Morocco featuring a transcontinental cast of Divas. Since 2013 (excluding pandemic years), Rob Ashford has staged fundraising productions of shows such as A Little Night Music, The Crucible, and Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. Confusingly, though Paula sang Stella Deems' song "Who's That Woman," she was credited in the program as Emily Whitman (presumably they just combined the roles for this production and gave them to the dancer in the cast?)
Pictured (L to R): The late Haydn Gwynn (Phyllis Rogers Stone, my beloved), Marisa Berenson (Solange LaFitte), Harolyn Blackwell (Heidi Schiller), Jenna Russel (Sally Durant Plummer), Paula Leggett Chase (Emily Whitman), Harriet Harris (Hattie Walker).

Alice Glass (2017) PREY // IV (2022), Alice Glass
At some point, post her exodus of Crystal Castles, Alice Glass started to sound quite a lot like Grimes. Not that such a thing was awful – it was simply less distinct, seeing Glass follow rather than lead. As of 2023, she’s still sort of in that lane, last year’s PREY only confirming a newer, less adventurous sort of artist.

top 10 Helluva Boss characters in my opinion
in short
10. Octavia
9. Striker
8. Sally Mae
7. Verosika
6. Asmodious/Ozzie
5. Millie
4. Moxxie
3. Blitzø
2. Fizzarolli
Stolas
Honorable mention: Vassago
Bellow is going to be an in depth review on why these are my favorite and why they are placed like this.. and it’s long
Number 10: Octavia
Octavia as a great character in my opinion, even though the episodes she was in are not my absolute favorites. I do enjoy her whenever she appears, and when I found out that she is most likely getting a song, I was so happy.
With that being said, she isn’t that compelling to me compared to other characters in mind
Number 9: Striker
Striker is a character that always hypes me when he appears. He easily earns me respect for being a guy who just does his job, and isn’t afraid to cause damage or kill other characters (like Stolas)
He’s also very interesting and easily likable, but not as much as the other 8 ahead of him
Number 8: Sally Mae
I loved her from the first time I saw her in episode 5, and the new short made me love her even more. Her relationship with Millie has to be one of my favorites in helluva boss. Not to mention a well represented trans character. So she earns my respect without a doubt
Number 7: Verosika Mayday
As Blitzø’s ex, she’s very interesting. There are many reasons why I like her. She’s blitz’s ex and we don’t know why they broke up (we got hints, but not a full explanation) I love her sassy personality and she’s hot(not that the other characters are hot, they are but Veroskia is a sucubus, not that it really matters but still). The reason why she’s higher then Sallie Mae is because we’ve had a lot more time with her.
I also can’t wait for apology tour, witch come out in my birth month
Number 6: Asmodeus/Ozzie
I Love the house of asmodeus so much and Ozzie just gets better from here, from a lustful sin to a sweet parter. He deserves to be in top 10
Reason why he’s here is because not because he sucks, but that other top 5 I like more then him for their own reasons, with that being
Number 5: Millie
I love her personality and her strength throughout the show. She’s brave, loves her husband, and is a very caring person who cares about her friends/family.
she’s only lower then her husband because we haven’t got a lot of time with her, but she’s still amazing which is why she is this high.
Number 4: Moxxie
His arc has to be one of my favorites, and he is very entertaining. I think he and Millie are some of the best characters in the show and that’s why they are both in my top 5, next to each other. But he’s only higher because he has more screentime.
Number 3: Blitzø
He’s always been a very interesting character, from the beginning where he was basically an animated Brenden Rogers (I enjoy his work BTW and recommend to those who like helluva boss) to where he got more and more complex and now, I just want to give him a big hug. But there are 2 more characters that are ahead of him
Number 2: Fizzarolli
Who DOESN’T like this dude, he’s so cute and funny and I love him. Of course with his more serious moments. That just makes me respect him even more. Ozzie’s, Opps, and Mammons magnificent musical mid-season special have to be some of my favorite partially (or entirely) because of him.
Honorable Mention: Vassago
Before I get to number one, I thought I should mention him. We haven’t seen him in the show yet, but I already like him since we got the information from Vivziepop that he’s a good boy (please let the be the truth Vivzie). That’s all
Number 1: Stolas
This is my favorite helluva boss character, this bird boy has always had my attention with his personality and complexity of his character. I’m very glad that he is getting a divorce with that toxic Stella (who I hate) and his loving relationship with his daughter Octavia (who I mentioned before as my number 10). I loved those last 5 minutes of full moon hearing his side of the story and giving the Asmodian crystal to Blitzø.
(AND I SWEAR TO GOD VIVZIE THAT IF THEY DONT GET BACK TOGETHER BY THE END OF THE SEASON)

DAY 26: "help them"
Day 26 of Febuwhump.
@febuwhump
More from Familiar faces, this was meant to be Kol’s pov of the new human Elijah and his terrible tastes in people, instead Finn’s thoughts in the aftermath of his first waking from the box and a brief appearance of little Marcellus claimed Day 26.
—
Finn had been awake for a few days mostly being avoided by his sibling-remaining siblings, while he relearnt the world, the language he had picked up from the waking nightmare of the box at least but the courtesy and manners had changed so much over his lost centuries.
Rebekah was at least trying to help him settle into the new world he woke into.
He wanted to rage that the lost but his rage had failed as he had seen the look Klaus’s eyes, a yawning grief had hit him when Klaus had explained, when he had looked in the other coffin, Elijah’s still empty body, no dagger to keep him down there was no need for it after all.
He hadn’t expected the hug from Rebekah when she came home to find him, he was never one of her preferred brothers. Still he held her back as she clung to him and ignored that fact he knew she wanted someone else.
It was fair since he had always wished for someone else.
She had insisted on getting him ready for the current era and Finn let himself be dragged away. He had listened to her quick review on everything that had happened since he was first daggered, leaving out much of the centuries directly after their attack by the Five.
Seven centuries, did he even know Elijah after all those years, even as he let Rebekah pick his clothes he watched her to see how much she had changed and did the same with Klaus from a distance.
They hadn’t changed as much as he thought, he found, they were clearly mired in grief, what had happened to Elijah was the closest thing to true death that could harm them besides Father and his weapon. It was sudden, unexpected and had hit them as hard as Henrik’s had eight centuries before.
Still he wanted to see what he had missed from Elijah’s life, Kol was daggered but could be revived with ease, just as soon as Klaus allowed it but Elijah was lost until they managed to find his human life and bring together with the other shard of his soul to return them to his body and complete it.
Klaus had had witches try to find it using his body to no luck so it was likely to take them years if not lifetimes to find wherever their brother had been reborn. So Finn had decided to find a sign of what Elijah had been like before this a had happened by looking through the house he had lived, the place that had become a home.
He avoided the Elijah’s bedroom ever since Klaus had moved the coffin there and the room he was told was Elijah’s office was locked he was planning to ask Klaus for the key later but had chosen to try the rest of the house, there was a library but for all Finn had learned English from his time in the box his ability to read had not been helped.
He opened a door to find a collection of instruments and what he assumed were music books when a young voice called out to him.
“You can’t go in there.” he turned around and then was forced to look down, the child Klaus was raising stared back, the boy Klaus had daggered their youngest brother to protect.
That one was of the few conversations Klaus had decided to have with him since he had undaggered him.
“Why not?” he asked raising an eyebrow, the boy was fearless considering he must know what Finn was and it hadn’t been a year since Kol had apparently terrorised him
“It’s Mr. Elijah’s.” The answer was clear but so was the pain in the child’s voice, Finn was torn between looking in the room and questioning the child more. He had wondered about the child, taking in and raising a child seemed more something Elijah would do, since he had already been becoming a father to Tatia’s son while the last Finn had known Klaus was still scarred by the discovery that he was not Mikael’s blood.
“I’m sorry, I didn't get your name?” he asks the child, he could look into the room later, the child was here now.
“Marcellus,” the boy offered his hand to him, “Klaus gave it to me.” he added proudly.
Finn took it and let the child drag it up and down, manners were more important to one brother than the other he thought.
“Were you close to Elijah?” he asked, not surprised as the boy teared up
“He was teaching me.” Marcellus admitted miserably.
“Before he was-” he paused, unsure how Klaus had explained the situation to a child, “before he fell ill.”
“Before your other brother arrived and his lady friend died.” the child corrected, “then he stopped, Klaus said he would start again after he moved on but-”
“He didn’t get a chance.” he finished.
Kol’s return had caused Klaus to worry about the boy but Rebekah had told him Kol was brought over here in the box so what had caused him to release Kol and how did it involve this woman Elijah had let himself get close too.
Finn was going to have to talk to Rebekah if someone was aware of the issues between them it had always been her, and as the only other one who has been awake she would know about the woman.
“Are you going to help them?” Marcellus asked, suddenly breaking him from his thoughts.
“Help them?” he parroted back
“Find Mr Elijah.” The child looked up at him with clear hope that had Finn aching, if the boy wasn’t turned it was likely they wouldn’t find Elijah until long after he died, even if Klaus did turn the boy, it could be centuries, how much would he remember the man and a half filled promise after that time.
Finn was saved from answering by a shout from below them.
“Marcel!”
“I’m here.” Marcel shouted, not even jumping as Klaus appeared behind him. “I found Mr. Finn going into Elijah’s music room.”
“What are you doing?” Klaus narrowed his eyes as he spoke.
“I wanted to get to know him.” he confessed his hand on the door letting Klaus know which him, he was talking about.
“Alright then,” his brother nodded once before turning hsi attention to the boy, “Marcel.” Finn ignored the strange feeling the sight caused as the boy hung on every word and Klaus was beaming at the child, he had never had much interest in children himself but he knew his siblings hadn’t felt the same. “ We'll get you set up with your workbooks and then I'll watch over Finn to make sure he doesn’t damage anything of Elijah.”
He watched them leave before he took a breath and entered the room.
—-
Part of him is disappointed in himself for expecting the room to suddenly give him the version of his brother he lost, instead he stared at dozens of books he couldn’t read and a mixture of wood, strung and metal instruments he didn’t recognize.
“He knew how to play all of these?” he asked after a few minutes just staring at them all as he heard the floor crack behind him.
“He’s likely the reason half of these made it to New Orleans to begin with, it was a hobby of his, something to pass the time.” Klaus explained.
Elijah used to prefer dance, he remembered, when they were alive, Finn would stand at the side line or in a hidden corner with Sage and he’d alway be able to find Elijah in a crowd of dancers, be it their siblings or their neighbours, ignoring Father’s warning about getting too close to the wolves.
In the last years it was always with Tatia, or teaching her son to, his attention so focused on them that the rest of the world could have burned and he wouldn’t have cared, Finn had been happy that Elijah had found something like he had with Sage. That he could be a father without triggering her return.
That was meant to have been his brother’s future, instead it was centuries watching his siblings and a room full of instruments.
He supposes playing the music kept others away but still let his brother feel the rhythm.
Elijah had made friends easily, believed in the best of everyone and wore his heart on his sleeve. He didn’t see any problem with raising a child that wasn’t his, because blood had never concerned Elijah.
That was taken from him, Finn had noticed soon after they were changed, after he returned to learn Tatia was dead along with mother. Elijah was distant with everyone besides their family, he viewed all with suspicion.
In the Martel court Finn had watched during the balls they held, while Rebekah and Klaus danced, Elijah stayed away sitting on the sidelines, he stepped back from interested ladies and men, shutting them down politely but clearly.
He had expected Elijah to return himself as he grew used to the new hunger and learned control, instead the cool, polite but distant man had become all there was.
His brothers were more similar than they believe he thinks as he watches Klaus run a hand carefully across an open book, scribbles to Finn but notes half finished to Klaus, still waiting as if Elijah was just about to return to finish it.
Elijah and Kol had struggled with control over their new thirst the most out of their family but while Elijah fought for every piece of his control Kol revelled in it to ignore what he had lost.
Klaus and Elijah hid their weaknesses behind a front, Klaus’s rage and Elijah’s cool manners.
He doesn’t wonder if he and Elijah shared anything, that was long past and it would likely be a long time before he got a chance to find out again.
