hi nonnie 🌞. omg ofc! i used to live on campus, i don’t anymore which is way easier for me— also, don’t stress. first year can always be a lot and extremely overwhelming but i got uuuuu !!!!!! love u too

it's a lot of things i wish i knew as my first year LOL. i guess one thing that is probably super basic, don’t procrastinate. just get your stuff done so you don’t have to worry about it later ☝️ it’s easier said than done, but trust you’ll feel a lot better once you finish your assignments / projects early n on time !!! also, staying up late while working on stuff — don’t do that. it’s not good for you, and i always did that eheh. waiting ‘till the last minute of 11:59 to finish essays nuh uh. do your stuff as soon as it get assigned, DONT PROCRASTINATE 🫵 also, go to all your orientations. do nawt skip them

sleeeeeep. you need lots of sleep, regardless of what year you’re in it’s very important. i wish i knew that as a freshman 😀😀😀. i would stay up all night doin work, especially on the weekends. certified loser nerd. also, set an alarm !!!! if you’re a heavy sleeper like me, set a fuck ton of them !!!! or uh… have someone wake you up. i used to oversleep a lot, a way to prevent this is to usually go to sleep earlier than you usually do ( from my experience )

if you’re on campus, have some sort of map / guide so you know where you’re going !!!!! on my first day i literally got lost right away and i barely knew much english so it was even more embarrassing LOL. beeeee prepared !!!! ☝️ do research on ur school, they should provide those things — also, try to get those things ahead of time before your courses start so you aren’t askin random ppl where one of your rooms are. of course, its okay to still get lost anyway. it happens. ask for help if needed but make sure you’re prepared !!!

you don’t necessarily need friends to “survive” in college. everyone’s experience is different, but i found my experience easier by just keepin my circle small 🫂. IM NOT SAYING TO BE A LONER, you can have / make friends throughout your years ofc !!! in college, you’ll meet the best and worst people of your life. your main priorities should be yourself and your studies — but you come first at the end of the day. friends will always come & go, but eventually you’ll stumble across some nice ppl who share the same interests as you !!!

there’s prob super more important details but for the last thing i’ll say this— don’t let your grades define you 💓. it sucks majorly to get bad marks on something, especially if you stayed up countless hours on it, givin it your all. i personally have / had a habit of doing that, but never let it define you. if you truly think you didn’t get the right grade for any number of reasons, you can always talk to your prof about it in private. but don’t stress ab it !!! always remember you matter first over some exam 🫵

And her backstory is that she saw a rainbow one day and she loved rainbows so much that she wished she could play on one. no, i don't think ayame is a reflection of me as a person. we're not all that similar at all. unless, of course, we're talking about her lack of awareness about her own strengths uwu sorry baby girl, that was the one thing from me that i gave u. in fact, i even amplified it for her.

when i was conceptualising ayame, i wanted her to be not perfect. like in a fairly obvious way.

she's full of envy, she's full of rage. controlling her emotions doesn't come naturally, she compares herself to others often to the detriment of her own self. she's self-sacrificing in all the not-good ways, and she's selfish. boy is she selfish.

but underneath it all, i also gave her a lot of traits that i wish i had. her ability to overcome adversity. her determination (which is exacerbated by her stubbornness). her insistence on being kind even if it isn't in her nature. her strength - both mental and physical.

ayame is flawed. she's flawed because she's human. i wanted to make her so very human.

in short, i don't think ayame is like me, because she's better than me. writing her taught me more than i, if ayame was a real person, could have taught her. is it weird that i admire her???? she's grown a lot throughout the entire series and i'll always be proud of her for that!

oH MY GOSH okay it was very interesting, as a film i quite enjoyed it, definitely feels like a breath of fresh air when compared to the utter trash hollywood keeps trying to churn out. LOVE that it was written, directed and (co)produced by a woman!!!!!

farleigh is so so so gorgeous i could’ve stared at him for HOURS, he was absolutely enrapturing and his actor did a phenomenal job. plot-wise i thought it was good, i kinda wish there were a few more thriller elements but that’s just a personal taste and has nothing to do with the film’s merit imo. i find myself more interested and captivated by imagining what life at saltburn was like before the film’s events took place—like, the history of the place, the family, imagining all of the insane shit that must’ve went down there in general etc., i dunno i’m just so fascinated by that. the sets were gorgeous but if i have to praise this film for one thing in particular, it would be its cinematography. i could talk your ear off about this but i won’t ehehe i’ll just say that the use of shot scale, shot duration + camera angles was superb in building tension & conveying subtle emotion/instigating subtle emotion in the viewer themselves

Militat Omnis Amans: The Beginnings by edaen - 92k words, fantasy, werewolf!jk, vampire!jm, forbidden love, super slow burn but super worth it, JIKOOK IN THIS IS MY FAVORITE JIKOOK IN ANY FIC EVER EVER EVER, this is the ultimate all or nothing will freeze hell over for the other kind of love, and the way this is written is just so... how do i describe it. like you can just tell the author wanted to be very realistic with their feelings. you’ve seen the word count, this is SLOW burn. like you will legit feel their struggle to just be able to love each other and while it hurts, it’s also SO GLORIOUS. i love this one so much and if you like reading angst with happy ending but like cranked up to 200% then read this. bonus feels if you read the whole series

Until Dawn (series) by edaen - this is the long series where the previous one above is part of. highly rec if you love fantasy and you wanna read about bts being a rag tag group of supernatural beings fighting evil yay. also it makes the above fic more satisfying because you see more of jikook just being tgt and in love (with bonus angst because of course)

🐎💙HoofBeats And HeartBeats  (Headless Horseman!Idia Shroud x Reader) 🐎💙

...Bright tears streamed down your face as you bolted through the night within the forest, desperately searching for a way to escape all of the troubles that had been plaguing you for so long. You had truly no one to ever turn to for a genuine sense of comfort in that sense- and least, no one that would ever stick. So, despite it being Halloween Night in the grand town of Sleepy Hollow, a town known for its infamous mysteries and odd disappearances, you ran. You ran like your life depended on it, your boots crashing against the nearby leaves as you did so. 

Eventually, you crashed down onto a nearby tree. A grunt of pain escapes your lips as you attempt to gain your natural bearings once more. You couldn't help but to allow yourself to cry up and wallow in your own sorrows once more underneath the shade of the large oak tree stretching up above you. You felt...disgusted with yourself and disgusted with what all had happened and been happening. Your sniffs began to increase as your heart wrenching sobs also increased drastically in volume overtime….and this was why you didn't hear the hoofbeats. 

Thump thump….thump thump….

Eventually, however, you allowed your head to tilt up a bit, now sniffing and squinting into the night. Your eyes locked onto the vast path before you, your expression soon contorting in confusion. Some sort of an odd….bright blue light seemed to be vastly approaching from afar. If you didn't know any better, you might have called out and inquired if it was some sort of woodland spirit such as a Will O' The Wisp. The hoofbeats increased more and more as your eyes widened. It couldn't be! 

A pale, tall man seemed to be seated atop the horse. His long, flowing blue locks shifted in the bitter autumn night winds around him, his amber eyes fluttering about in a calculating manner...until they rested upon your form below. He seemed like a prim and proper yet skittish type, for his expression contorted just a bit in confusion. Those amber orbs trailed along your face, spotting the tears. His tall, strapping midnight horse seemed to neigh loudly at the sheer sight of you, now sniffing down towards your form. The male soon dismounted from his steed, and you could see some sort of sword within a strap at his hilt. 

He spoke in a soft yet strong tone of voice, his foot gently nudging his other one as a sort of coping technique in terms of speaking. "....Good evening. What is…..uhhh...what's such a lovely person such as yourself doing out this late at night? You know it is Halloween night, do you not?" You soon nodded in reply, sniffing for a moment. "I-i am well aware...I am just….pardon me, sir, but I am not supposed to speak to...s-strangers."

 A smirk seemed to tug at the lips of the horseman. Ah, at least you were bright. He cleared his throat and bowed, now taking one of your hands into one of his steel-gloved own. "....U-umm….ehehehe...is it too much to ask that we become...not strangers, then? You….a-ahem. You seem upset. What...troubles you?" You sniff a bit more and slowly arise with his help. You begin to explain your situation to him in earnest. He frowns upon hearing your words. "...Mmm. Humans really ar- I-i mean….ehehe. People really can be awful, r-right? I-i actually lost a….beloved...pumpkin t-trinket of mine thanks to a group of kids…..aaahhhh….I've been searching all night…" 

You blink a couple of times and glance to the side of the tree which you had taken refuge against. Ironically enough, a black pumpkin was resting firmly against the side of it- perhaps you had kicked it by mistake as you ran? Regardless, the object is soon retrieved once you bend over. You hold the pumpkin up to the mysterious horseman, now arching a brow at him. "...Does it look something like this?" The boy's eyes widened happily at the sight. He seemed to wish to do a happy little dance at the sight- you found it, you found it~

"Ehehehehehhee! That's it! T-thank you….?" He seemed to trail off, now waiting for your name. Your eyes widen as you faintly smile and giggle at his happy little antics. "[Y/n]...." The boy nods and smiles brightly at you, his hair seeming to glow just a bit brighter. "[Y/n]....a lovely name for a lovely….s-savior of mine! Ehehehehe! W-well….I uhhh….I do not think you should be...out here alone tonight." 

He walked to his horse, now swinging himself up onto the saddle. He grins out happily as he holds out a hand for you to take. "W-want t-to ride into the n-night with me? Don't worry, I'll k-keep you safe and warm! Ehehehhee~" You couldn't help but to laugh and very faintly blush at the antics. You take his hand into your own, now allowing the boy to haul you up behind him. Your arms wrap around his waist to steady yourself as you smile, now arching a brow. "I did not receive your name, fair sire… " 

The boy seemed to blush- and to cover this up, he placed that black pumpkin onto his head. Guess it was a helmet- then it hit you. But he was so nice? Regardless, he soon replies with a ton of stutters. "M-most k-know me as the H-headless H-horseman...but my...m-my family and t-those I like...know me as Idia Shroud." The boy suddenly whips the reins of the horse and the two of you take off into the night….

The hoofbeats and the beatings of your own hearts following you both all the way.
