Do you know or think any of the past Halloween events will rerun? Like “Terror is Trending” or “Spectral Soirée”? Cause I wanna know the plots of those and maybe play through them since I joined the game late, but I’m not sure if they’ll rerun at this point

I HOPE so, the second Halloween event is still probably my favorite! (it's just. peak non-main Twst content. everyone is so ridiculous and it's so delightful.) the way they've been doing it though has been to rerun the previous year's Halloween event and then the new one, so Eng probably won't be getting those first two events again anytime soon. :( if you're okay with just watching them for the story, your best bet is probably to look up a playthrough of them on YouTube. just make sure it has the ending rhythmics, they both had super cute ones!

Eng sometimes does things differently than JP though, and I think there's been a bit of an influx of new players to both versions lately? so one or both might decide to do a big rerun at some other point in the year! or they might just start rotating Halloween events or something now that they have four of 'em. :U I admit, I do kinda hope that they rerun just so I can try to get that ONE Scary Monsters card I'm missing...please Twst...I just need one more...

Hi! Sorry if there’s a lore doc or something I missed but I saw your new Obi design and the overblot doodles and would love to know the lore! From my understanding, Obi can consume magic? Did he use that to tame overblots? I’m completely enamored by the idea that all these big scary monsters are just hanging out in Ramshackle. Are the house wardens comfortable visiting with them around?

(LOL there is no lore doc. It's just me cryptically posting about Obi and the phantoms and then bouncing. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity for me to rant about the lore I have bouncing around my brain. Also, I probably should make a tag to make all this lore stay in one place. Rant below the cut (May contain slight spoilers))

Obi and the phantoms:

To answer your first question: Yes, Obi can consume magic. In fact, he needs to consume it to survive. When he consumes magic, they taste like words and information. If he eats a spell, Obi gains an understanding of the spell's nature and effects. Repeated consumption of the same spell can lead to greater revelations. Obi is not totally conscious of this ability, as the information he gains seems to have always existed to him.

Did he use that to tame overblots?

No, the phantoms are not really beings that can be tamed. Obi devoured them during the overblot. And wakes up with a book in his clutches. Said books are how he summons the phantoms once again.

Each phantom takes on a personality and ability separate but similar to their original creator. Some phantoms are more willing than others to be cooperative.

Obi doesn't really mind much. Unwanted creations should stick together. It's better than being alone.

Are the house wardens comfortable visiting with them around?

Some of them are, for some it takes more time to warm up to the idea of the phantoms. After all, its hard to be totally ok with a being born of their worse moments. I can run through some general attitudes.

Riddle: Absolutely terrified at first. But seems dedicated to "educating" his phantom. He comes around a lot. (The phantom loves this)

Leona: Comes by frequently but he does not seem to show a strong interest in his own phantom, brings meat. (The phantom also appears uninterested in its creator, but has been seen curling around leona while he's taking a nap)

Azul: Does not come by at all. (The phantom hates this, but understands)

Jamil: The phantom often seeks Jamil out frequently, seems to have a strong desire to bring gifts to its creator. It is unclear how Jamil feels about this. (Jamil is unsure about this, Kalim loves this)

Vil: The phantom hides from Vil. It is ashamed. (Vil dislikes this, but is trying to coax it out)

Idia: Ortho... sleeps most of the time. He wishes to be near his brother but is often not strong enough to be the dominant desire among them. Idia and Ortho visit frequently they love to play video games together. (Ortho loves this)

Wouldn’t Idia’s ego be bruised if he was told that he was less scary than the tiny spiders? I don’t know, maybe he’s happy that Yuu isn’t scared of him, but I just get the impression that would do some damage to his pride as a monster boy.

The answer is both.

OG Idia already has a thing about his looks, add being a big version of a creature that a lot of people think looks scary/gross, makes it even worse for him.

It can be useful if you want to be left alone or avoid being harassed by others but even the most introverted person gets lonely, and then there you are.

This strange soft little creature with no scales or plating to protect your thin skin, no claws or fangs to defend yourself, such easy prey amongst beasts...and yet you're not scared of him or any of them. Simply rolling your eyes at the growls and threats of turning you into a snack.

How ironic a small common house spider is enough to have to scream and cling onto one of the furry legs of a huge, sharp-toothed, fire-haired, glowing spider.

Admittedly it does bruise his ego a little, but the fact that out of everyone, you keep going to him...It eases the hit. Just please don't stop telling him how pretty and cool you think he looks. His hearts can't take it.

A bit after the STYX incident, Riddle started dating a guy (imagine a regular NPC).

Riddle was incredibly anxious, but considered this a victory, a sign that he was healing and acting like a teenager. He asked Cater, Ace and Vil for tips and prepared a whole study guide on how to be a good boyfriend, though.

After a week or two of just hanging out during lunch and chatting, the couple decided to organize an actual date.

They settled for an afternoon at a local coffee shop. Riddle was so happy.

And then the guy stood him up.

It was okay. An emergency dormhhead meeting was called ten minutes later so he would have to cancel things anyway. But still...

Now, just to set things up, of the cast of known students, the only ones that knew about the date were Heartslabyul (obviously), the Octotrio (they were shoving vouchers at Riddle's face subtly giving hints about using Mostro Lounge as a date spot) the Pop Music Club, Vil, Rook, Idia (Azul told him) and the first years.

Curious (and worried) about the situation, Kalim and Vil asked Riddle about the date during the meeting. Malleus was personally offended and Azul was feeling so generous he even invited the group over to Monstro Lounge (everyone except Riddle had to pay, though).

Interestingly enough, the school was really quiet that day, and not even Crowley knew the reason for calling the meeting...

You see, tuns out the date never actually cared for Riddle, it was just a prank.

The plan was to claim an emergency had happened ("I lost a book in the abandoned mines, and my friend needs it to study for a test next week!"), Riddle would volunteer to go fetch the book by himself like the stubborn housewarden that he is, and the date would go to the coffee shop to reserve their seats.

Cater had already done a background check of thr guy as soon as he started talking to Riddle, with Chen'ya and Lillia also helping out. Trey tipped Rook off, and don't get me started on the first years, who went a step further and asked Ortho to hack the guy's social media...

The date was attacked by the first years and a few cauldrons before he could even leave the school, while the beach party was ruined by the Tweels and a stampede of Caters...

The rest of the cast was kept mostly in the dark, with only a vague message of "Rids is sad, cheer him up pls, we're busy RN. Ttyl XOXO." from Cater. Idia, thinking Riddle was having a social anxiety crisis over the date, called a dormhead meeting by hacking Crowley's phone, hoping this was a good enough excuse to cancel the event.

Needless to say the "boyfriend" and his friends didn't last for long after everyone ELSE got the memo... Vil and Leona can be a SCARY duo, but angry Malleus and Idia are even WORSE!

That one anon who asked about NRC going to monster high got me thinking, like how would they react to all the different way things are pronounced there like instead of year book it’s “fear book” instead of cheerleading it’s “fear leading” New York is “BooYork” Paris is “Scaris” they call each other “ghouls” and “ghoul friends” instead of girl and girlfriends and for men it’s “Mansters”. And even Normies don’t have the same meaning, Normies is what monsters call human people and Idia is just “wHaT?”

Exactly WHEN does Yutu arrive? Before book 3 and after book 2?

Also does any version of Yutu try to change some canon events? Like going to a Scarabia in book 4 or events like Glo mask or fairy Gala.

If you they do, what changes does each Yutu make?

I had two points in time that I thought made the most sense for Yutu to arrive, the first was during the prologue when the Ramshackle Gang is fighting the dwarf phantom as this is more or less what happened in Fire Emblem Awakening, and the second was at some point after book 4, provided that the Phantom Bride and Scary Monsters Events had already happened, allowing Yuu a chance to have met Idia and Vil.

If Yutu had come during the prologue he would have been going out of his way to prevent every single overblot. He would do his best to prevent things like being trapped in Scarabia, Grim signing Azul's contract, or anything he thought was related to the overblot but I'm uncertain if that would actually stop anything? Idia mentions in book 6 that overblots can be caused by external factors unrelated to the mage, and I have a slight suspicion that's what's happening in the main story, but we shall see.

I'm less certain about events... the only way I can see GloMas being cannon to this ayuu is if Yutu is Rollo's kid, otherwise Scary Monsters makes much more sense. I could see Yutu pointing out to Malleus and Lilia that their plan was stupid and that they needed to give the school context, or staying behind to let Ace know what was going on when he came to check. If Malleus and Lilia didn't try to let him on the plan and he was just as clueless as the rest of the school... he'd be distraught. If his father was one of the people missing it would be even worse, he's tense and on edge and screaming at Malleus when he finds out the whole thing was a "haha joke." I couldn't see him really enjoying the party after that, it would have brought up too many bad memories. If it's Leona's Yutu I could see him making sure to keep his son close to him because he's smart enough to piece together what's going on in his head.

I think he'd try to avoid things like the Fairy Gala so he doesn't have to show his face, but if his dad was one of the people being forced to try and steal the crown he'd want pictures. Double so if it's the first run and Yuu is dressed up too!

Oki you may have posted it before but I'm curious. What is your timeline for TWST? Like mainly the events and story chapters what order do you think they're in cause I'm trying to figure it out as someone who dipped out near the end of chapter 5 but I'm getting back into it.

(Nightmare Before Christmas)

Book 4: December

Book 5: January to Early February (Noble Bell College, Early Jan)

Book 6: February to Early March (Beanfest is Late February) (Scalding Sands is shortly after Ignihyde) (Harveston is late March)

Book 7: April (Tapis Rouge, Fairy Gala, early April)

The Halloween Events are moveable, save for Scary Monsters and Endless Night. Nightmare Before Christmas speaks for it itself: it can happen either around Halloween, or before or after Christmas give or take a few choices of dialogue. And for Glorious Masquerade, the Feast of Fools canonically takes place on the Sixth of January so… that’s where I’m having it take place.

But for my timeline:

October: Leona’s Overblot, Playful Land, Scary Monsters/Endless Night.

November: Azul’s Overblot, Nightmare Before Christmas.

December: Possibly Ghost Bride? Then Jamil’s Overblot.

January: Fellow comes back, Glorious Masquerade, VDC.

February: Idia’s Overblot, Scalding Sands, Bean Fest, Harveston

April: isn’t completely thought out yet
